President Obama's home state is now the 13th one to ban discrimination based on gender identity or expression.
Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) last week signed HB 546, which bans discrimination based on gender identity and expression in the areas of employment, housing and public accommodations. HB 546 also brings Hawaii’s labor law in line with similar protections enacted in the areas of housing and public accommodations.
That now means that 1/4 of the 50 states have these trans friendly laws on their legal books and over 125 cities and counties nationwide.
Now when can we have that happen for the rest of the nation on a federal level?
