Kye Allums Rough Return Home

Junior George Washington University guard Kye Allums not only played his first collegiate game since declaring he was transitioning,  it was also his first game back in the home state of Minnesota as a George Washington Colonial.

The nerves showed as he played 15 minutes and finished with zero points, one rebound, one assist, two turnovers and three fouls in the Colonials 75-51 loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay in the Best Buy Classic in Minneapolis.

"I thought he played well; being home I know there is excitement,'' George Washington coach Mike Bozeman said . "We tried to get him to calm down a little bit. That is natural. He hasn't been able to play here since (coming) to D.C.'' .

There was also a television crew on hand filming the game for an upcoming ESPN 'Between The Lines' segment crew.   In addition St. Paul Pioneer Press reporter Tim Leighton needs to read the AP Stylebook for his fail filled write up on the game..

Me and your transbrothers and transsisters around the world are rooting for you, Kye.   We know you'll have a better game next time and the season's just getting started...
