2011 Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit At UH

One of the first events I attended when I returned to the Houston area was the 2nd Annual Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit that was held on the Rice University campus.

There's been a host change, and the 3rd Annual TTNS, sponsored by the Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit and the Houston GLBT Center will return to the site of the inaugural event, the campus of the University of Houston on August 12-13.

Another change this year is that there will be a registration fee to attend the TTNS..  The Early Bird discount deadline passed on May 31, so if you wish to attend, it will be $20 for regular registration and $10 for student registration.   Another deadline that passed was the May 20 submission deadline for TTNS proposed workshops

To register by mail, send your check made payable to the Houston GLBT Community Center to:
Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit, P. O. Box 1095, Baytown, Texas 77522

The TTNS tackles TBLG issues pertinent to higher education.   Interested parties in higher education gather to discuss what works and what does not work in regards to codifying inclusion of  'gender identity and expression' into institutional policy.

The TTNS serves to find means to this end through discussion of divergent and respective strategies in regard to the inevitable barriers that always arise for LGBT students.

Looking forward to being back on the campus of my alma mater this August.
