This time in Los Angeles.Reports are coming from the area that a fortysomething trans woman was fatally shot in the head early this morning after an attempted robbery in East Hollywood.
She was discovered about 2:30 AM PDT by LAPD officers responding to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of North Kenmore Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The woman was taken to the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 5 AM PDT, an LAPD police spokesperson said.
The unknown for now trans woman will unfortunately become the eighth transperson murdered this year in the United States. She will also become the second transwoman in the LA metro area murdered since Zoraida Reyes was found dead back in June. I'm trying to get more information about our lost trans sister from local and other sources, and as soon as I have it, I'll post further updates to this story.
But we'll have to recite another name at next month's TDOR, and this month';s just getting started.
