Sorority Bigot Expelled From University of Alabama After Racist Video

Harley Barber.
Well, looks like another Sorority Bigot Becky had to learn a couple of lessons the hard way.

*Being in the South doesn't give your straight outta New Jersey behind carte blanche to indiscriminately say the n-word.

*Don't put you bigotry out there on the Net where you WILL get called on it, especially by Black Twitter

*This WILL be following you for the rest of your life
.

*Being a bigot costs, and you shedding white tears after the fact will not protect you from paying that cost

In this case it cost Harley Barber her membership in the Alpha Phi sorority and got the 19 year old freshman expelled from the University of Alabama for her expletive filled videotaped rant she posted on of all days Martin Luther King, Jr Day.

Despite her sorority sisters in the Beta Mu chapter warning her not to post it, Bigot Becky kept right on going, doubling down on her videotaped hate speech.

Maybe she was auditioning for the FOX Noise show Outnumbered.   Naah, wrong hair color for that.

And then the hammer came down for her actions.   She was expelled from Alpha Phi sorority and from the University of Alabama on Tuesday.

"Alpha Phi is a diverse, values-based organization and condemns the language and opinions in these videos," Linda Kahangi, the executive director of Alpha Phi International, said in a statement.  "They are offensive and hateful to both our own members and to other members of the Greek and campus community. The [University of Alabama] chapter leadership and supporting alumnae moved quickly to address the offense, and Ms. Barber is no longer a member of Alpha Phi."

Then the second hammer came down hours laters on Tuesday from the University of Alabama, courtesy of UA President Stuart R. Bell.

"In light of the racist and disturbing videos posted by one of our students on social media, I want to express my personal disgust and disappointment.
Image result for university of alabama
Like many of you, I find the videos highly offensive and deeply hurtful, not only to our students and our entire University community, but to everyone who viewed them. The actions of this student do not represent the larger student body or the values of our University, and she is no longer enrolled here.
We hold our students to much higher standards, and we apologize to everyone who has seen the videos and been hurt by this hateful, ignorant and offensive behavior. This is not who we are; it is unacceptable and unwelcome here at UA. These types of incidents affect community members differently. If you have been impacted and would like additional support, please access resources here that are available to you on our campus.
Over the last year, I have had conversations with many of you who shared your UA experiences with me. You have voiced your pride in the progress we have made, but we still have much work to do. I want to thank all of the students, faculty and staff who met today to have conversations about this event and the steps we can take, individually and collectively, to create a more welcoming and inclusive campus. You have my commitment and the commitment of our leadership team to sustain progress and address directly any issues that arise.
I know you join me in taking a stand against this and all reprehensible behavior. As members of this community, we are a family and this is our home. Everyone has a right to feel safe and welcome here."
Roll Tide!   She's probably on the bus from Tuscaloosa back to Marlton, New Jersey  now   And if you're wondering if she's a Republican and a Trump supporter, yep she is.

harley barber
But no Harley, you not only just learned you can't say the n-word in the South (or anywhere else in the USA) you're just the latest bigoted white person to learn the hard lesson that racist speech, especially when it's videotaped, has consequences.

DFW Area White Woman Tripping About Curvaceous Black Reporter

White Lady Boycotts News Station Because New Reporter Is Thick AF And She Isn’t
Black women not only come in 24 different skin tones from light bright and damned near white to deepest darkest ebony, a fact that Rihanna is taking to the bank with her new makeup line, we also come in many different body types.

And one white Dallas TV viewer is mad because of that.

<p>Twitter defends anchor Demetria Obilor after viewer calls her attire "ridiculous."</p>
Meet Demetria Obilor.  She works at WFAA-TV 8 in Dallas, and does their morning traffic reports for them.  As you can also see she is beautiful, voluptuous, and curvaceous.

Conservaviewer Jan Shedd had a problem with that and took to Facebook to express herself.

“Has anyone seen channel 8’s new morning traffic reporter,” Shedd wrote on Facebook. “She’s a size 16/18 woman in a size 6 dress. She looks ridiculous. I understand that when I watch Channel 8 I’m going to get biased reporting and political correctness, but clearly they have taken complete leave of their senses."

Of course, once Jan's jealousy tinged Facebook comments were posted to Black Twitter, the ruthless dragging of Bigot Becky swiftly ensued with their usual brutal efficiency.

And yeah, Black Twitter is still putting their collective electronic foot up Shedd's behind as they call Shedd's bigoted ignorance out.

Bitter Becky, party of one, your table is ready.

Obilor also posted a video to her own Twitter feed thanking Black Twitter for coming to her defense and calling the hater out and basically saying if you don't like her, you have channel options

You're welcome sis.  We got your back.

Meanwhile, I have another reason to watch WFAA-TV 8 besides Dale Hansen the next time I end up on the northern end of I-45.

Islamophobia Being Deployed Again In Another Pearland Political Race

Pearland City Council Pos. 7 candidates Woody Owens, left, and Dina Kasseb.  Photo: Houston Chronicle
Did the conservative white males in Pearland not get the message that Islamophobia is not okay at any time, especially when deployed during a campaign?

Islamophobic comments made by the incumbent aimed at Dalia Kasseb probably played a role in Mike Floyd comfortably winning his Pearland ISD school race, and now we may have a replay happening in the runup to the June 10 Pearland mayoral and city council runoffs.

Image result for Pearland Texas

30 year old pharmacist Dalia Kasseb is making a historic run for a Pearland City Council seat as the first Muslim ever to run for office in Brazoria County.  On May 6 topped a crowded field of candidates in the Position 7 council race to capture 41% of the vote to Owens 21%

She noted in a Houston Chronicle story that when they have met in person, he seemed cordial, but Owens' has been sharing anti- Muslim message and comments on his Facebook page,.

"Our few meetings have been very pleasant,"Kasseb said.  "But for him to be sharing that stuff on Facebook shows what he really believes."

The controversy also has had an indirect impact on the Pearland mayor's race.  Longtime Pearland Mayor Tom Reid is being challenged by 36 year old Quentin Wiltz,  The 91 year old Reid has held the mayor's chair for a combined 34 years (1978-90, 1995-present), and publicly endorsed Owens on who served four terms on Pearland's city council, back on April 6.

Image result for quentin wiltz
But Reid has been silent since the story broke about the Islamophobic comments that Owens has been sharing on his Facebook page since February 2015.   If Reid doesn't share those opinions, then he may want to open his mouth and say so before June 10 because early voting for the mayoral runoff election begins on May 30, and Wiltz garnered 45% of the vote back on May 6.

Pearland is a fast growing southern suburb of Houston that has grown from a small town of less than 5,000 residents in the 1960's to over 130,000 people, and its population has tripled and gotten more diverse since 2000.  It is currently 47% Anglo, 25% Latinx, 17% African American and 9% Asian .

But it seems as though some peeps either aren't aware of that or are being willfully ignorant about that fact, and the clock is ticking toward the June 10 conclusion of this runoff campaign.

Not Liking The Shady Comments Being Directed At Laverne Over 'Rocky Horror'

Image result for Laverne Cox rocky horror
I was parked in front of the television Thursday night watching Laverne Cox play the iconic role of Dr. Frank-n-Furter in the FOX reimagining of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I was shocked, but shouldn't have been surprised to hear some shady sniping coming once again from elements of trans community about the show.

I guess the only thing that would have made y'all happy is if a white trans actress had played that role instead of Laverne, huh?

Image result for laverne cox doubt
Well boo boo kitties, Black trans people are also actors in Hollywood, so burn that fact into your brains.   Laverne is the one they chose for the role, she has the talent to play it, has a BA in dance, and when the legal drama Doubt finally premieres on CBS I have the utmost confidence she will slay that Cameron Wirth role as well

Damn, here we have the historic moment of a trans person, and even more important to Black Trans World, a Black trans woman playing an iconic movie role in a prime time network television slot, and some of y'all wanna throw shade and be salty about that?

#StopTheShade, have some seats at your local multiplex and miss me with that BS, okay?

Image result for Laverne Cox rocky horrorWhite trans women have been the center of trans attention ever since Christine Jorgensen stepped off the airplane at JFK in February 1953.

It's not only past time for trans women of color to get some of that spotlight, it's also past time for you vanillacentric privileged malcontents sniping at Laverne for Rocky Horror to realize and burn into your brains there is room for all of us to shine.

I'm appreciating the fact that Laverne once again is making history, and sadly the disappointing shady chatter is proving to me once again why Afrocentric trans events like BTAC are necessary

It's alo proving to me once again that some haters are gonna hate even when it's a trans person of color making that positive history.

Hillary Clinton Calls Out Trump For 'Steady Stream Of Bigotry'

Image result for Hillary clinton calls out Trump for bigotry in Reno Speech
Hillary Clinton put Donald Trump on blast during a speech in Reno, Nevada on race relations that rebutted Trump's ludicrous charge that Clinton was a bigot.

Stop projecting, Donald.

Clinton didn't call him a bigot, but made it clear without uttering his name that she was talking about the Republican nominee. She  came armed in this Reno speech with numerous examples of Trump's bigotry during this campaign and in his personal life.

"There's always been a paranoid fringe in our politics, a lot of it arising from racial resentment. But it's never had the nominee of the major party stoking it. encouraging it, and giving it a national megaphone until now." Clinton said in her speech.

Here's the link to that speech if you missed it.

Indiana Enacts 'Religious Bigotry' Law- Backlash Ensues

Bigotry has a cost, and Indiana is about to find that lesson out the hard way.

Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) signed the Orwellian named Religious Freedom Restoration Act  into law on Thursday that allows faith-based discrimination against the TBLG community.   Ever since  then, the condemnation and backlash of the unjust law has been swift.

“The lawmakers didn’t listen. The governor didn’t listen. They ignored huge job creators and small businesses. They ignored churches and other institutions of faith. They dismissed the idea that a license to discriminate would make us unappealing to visitors and potential residents.”
--Freedom Indiana

“We certainly understand the implications this legislation has on our ability to attract and retain employees, Simply put, we believe discriminatory legislation is bad for Indiana and for business.”
Janice Chavez, Eli Lilly spokesperson
(Eli Lilly has 17,500 employees in Indiana)

Hey, where were y'all Eli Lilly and other businesses when this unjust law was being considered? Now y'all wake up and call it out?

Angie's List just cancelled a $40 million dollar expansion in the state that would have brought 1000 jobs to Indiana.   The Indianapolis based Disciples of Christ denomination sent a letter to Governor Pence  threatening to cancel their 2017 convention that is scheduled to be held there.

"Our perspective is that hate and bigotry wrapped in religious freedom is still hate and bigotry," Todd Adams, the associate general minister and vice president of the Indianapolis-based denomination, told The Indianapolis Star. Adams said the Disciples of Christ would instead seek a host city that is "hospitable and welcome to all of our attendees."

The Indianapolis based NCAA, which hosts the men's Final Four there at Lucas Oil Stadium next week, is also concerned about the anti-LGBT law.

"The NCAA national office and our members are deeply committed to providing an inclusive environment for all our events. We are especially concerned about how this legislation could affect our student-athletes and employees,” NCAA President Mark Emmert said in a statement.

“We will work diligently to assure student-athletes competing in, and visitors attending, next week’s Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis are not impacted negatively by this bill. Moving forward, we intend to closely examine the implications of this bill and how it might affect future events as well as our workforce."

2009-08-05T14-56-06 -- IMG_7776The Gen Con gamer convention, which brings 56,000 people to Indianapolis and has a $50 million dollar impact on the local economy, is also threatening to pull out of the city.

Unfortunately it's too late for Indiana to stop its passage, but it can serve as a cautionary tale for Texas and the rest of the country considering passing the same kind of blatantly unconstitutional and unjust laws

Racism Rears Its Pointed Hooded Head At TX HS Basketball Game

White Power BasketballSome of us in the Lone Star State sarcastically refer to North Texas, because of its proximity to the madness in the Sooner State, as Baja Oklahoma.

Much of the state house and senate legislative representation in that part of the state is unfortunately Tea Klux Klan, and we all know how racist the Tea Party is.

It seems that the Tea Party racism pimped by FOX Noise, the Tea Party and right wing talk radio to their parents is filtering down to the younglings.

At a boys basketball game played on February 13 between Flower Mound HS and Plano East last Friday that went into triple overtime, some nekulturny Flower Mount HS knuckleheads held up 'White Power' signs that were spotted by the visiting Plano East players and their fans.

“I saw ... [the signs] during the game, and I just didn’t think anything of it until I heard ... [a] racial slur at the free throw line,” Plano East junior player Devin Gifford said in an interview. “I didn’t say anything; I just let students be students.”.

Gifford posted the photo of the signs on Twitter with the caption, “This is ridiculous I thought we passed the racial stage of society.”

Sadly Kevin, we still haven't evolved to become the beloved community that the Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King Jr talked about.and we have a lot of work to do to get there.

While Flower Mound administrators quickly confiscated the offensive signs, they were still up long enough for them to be photographed, posted and subsequently commented about on social media.

Flower Mound's head coach issued an emphatic condemnation of the incident via Twitter, and Lewisville ISD Interim Superintendent Kevin Rogers issued this written statement yesterday.

As Interim Superintendent of a very diverse school district and community, I have been involved with our internal investigation regarding the unfortunate occurrence at Friday night’s Flower Mound High School vs. Plano East varsity boys’ basketball game. I want to be clear that this type of incident – however it has been perceived – has not and will not be tolerated in LISD. We have always had high expectations for our more than 53,000 students and hold them to those standards both in and outside of the classroom.

As we stated yesterday, the investigation of this occurrence is still underway, and we fully intend to act on our findings. We regret that this unfortunate event has been elevated to this level on so many social media circles.

I am disheartened that the perceived actions of a few may reflect poorly on two great schools – Flower Mound and Plano East High Schools – school districts and communities. Ultimately, please know we have the highest respect for the students, staff and community of Plano East High School.
The game was a75-73 Flower Mound win, but nobody will remember that this triple overtime boys varsity basketball tilt was considered one of the best games of the 2014-15 Texas high school basketball season.

This reprehensible incident has overshadowed the result of the game, and has once again in the wake of similar racist incidents at high school games in other parts of the country, shined a necessary spotlight on race and race relations in the US and the lack of societal progress in solving the problem.

Bigotry Costs You Big Money

One of the lessons that corporations should know but seem to forget at times until it whacks them on their bottom line is that bigotry can cost you big money.

The latest corporation to learn this lesson the hard way is Barilla Pasta chairman Guido Barilla

Barilla, the number one pasta make in Italy that does $3.9 billion euros annually in business made the comments during a recent interview in which he was quoted as saying he and his company will not feature any gay families in their advertisements because he supports a “traditional family.” He then followed up by stating that if someone disagrees, well, they can “go eat another brand of pasta.”

Dude, you are about to learn just how much purchasing power the TBLG community (about $800 billion dollars) has in addition to how much brand loyalty matters.

Well, the TBLG community and their supporters took Barilla's advice and if they weren't donating his pasta to food banks, it went straight to the trash.   His competitors like Bertolli Germany  took advantage of the bigoted remarks of its rival by releasing ads and making statements to the effect their pasta is for everyone to enjoy.

Hey, I still haven't eaten at Reicher-fil-a Chik-fil-a (and I love their food) ever since Dan Cathy made his jacked up remarks and doubled down on them.

I used to enjoy their commercials.  Now I roll my eyes every time I see one of them because it's a reminder to me of the anti-gay attitudes they wallow in.  Neither am I inclined to spend my hard earned T-bills at companies who donate to organizations that oppress me and my allies.

Target is still trying to get back in the GLBT  community's good graces as a preferred store after they donated $150,000 to a business group backing a Minnesota GOP gubernatorial candidate in 2011 who was anti-marriage equality.

The African-American community stopped patronizing Dillard's after racial profiling incidents in Texas were the catalyst for 80 African American shoppers to file suits against the company.   Since 1994 six unarmed customers have been killed after confrontations with their loss prevention security.  Five of those customers have been non-white.  Dillard's was also sued by customers in Mississippi, Kentucky and Georgia on similar racial profiling allegations. In Alabama, eight black women who were patrons of Dillard’s beauty salons sued the company for race-based pricing.

IKEA scrambled to apologize after a commercial was released in Thailand the local trans community considered disrespectful and the Thai Transgender Alliance called them on it.

Guido Barilla recognized that he fracked up, and is now trying to do damage control and apologize.  But it may be a case of too little and too late to get their lost market share back in the BTLG community.

Once you insult the LGBT community and tell us you don't need or want our consumer dollars, we have long memories.

And he and his company are also learning the hard lesson that bigotry costs you big money.

Oh Hell No! Man Utters N-word And Slaps Crying Child On Delta Flight

This is definitely a Maya Wilkes moment  and a well earned nomination for Shut Up Fool of the week.

Heard about Joe Rickey Hundley, who while traveling on a February 8 Minneapolis-Atlanta Delta flight let his inner bigot out while in seat 28A next to 33 year old Jessica Bennett and her 2 year old toddler Jonah.

Jonah began crying while on final descent.into Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Flight 721 probably due to the altitude change that can cause some brief ear discomfort.

Bennett believed that Hundley was inebriated and claimed he drank several double vodkas during the two hour flight

The 60 year old Hundley is not only alleged to have said to Bennett "Shut that n----r baby up," he took it a step further by following the racist comment up with a slap to Jonah's face that only intensified the crying.

He denies it, but other passengers have verified it was said.. Once that happened other nearby passengers intervened and Hundley was arrested upon arrival at the gate.

He was charged with simple assault (really?) and faces up to a year in prison if convicted of the misdemeanor count.  He was also charged with public intoxication and has been suspended from his job as president of Idaho-based Unitech Composites and Structures.

TransGriot Update: Now that his story has gone viral and international, reports are that Hundley has now been terminated from his job.

Caroline Wozniacki, Stop Hatin' On Serena's Curves

Caroline Wozniacki was doing what she does best on a tennis court and lose to better (and sometimes worse) players than her, but took it to a racist level in Brazil last weekend.  .

During an exhibition match she was playing against Maria Sharapova in Sao Paulo, Brazil she decided to mock tennis star Serena Williams' curvaceous body by stuffing tissues in her breast and butt and waddling around the tennis court.

Of course, the predominately white crowd thought Wozniacki's antics were hilarious.

I didn't, and not just because I'm a huge Serena Williams fan.  Michael Arceneaux didn't think it was humorous in this EBONY article and 84% of the people voting in a NewsOne poll at the bottom of the story discussing Wozniacki's problematic stunt didn't think it was funny either.

And the fact this isn't the first time Wozniacki has mocked Serena that way pisses us off even more.

Once again this plays into the borderline racist disrespect aimed at the Williams Sisters ever since they have been on the women's professional tennis circuit dominating it and the disrespect aimed at Black women in general for the last 400 years.

To borrow a comment from Michael Arcenaux's article, Black women's bodies are not a joke.  We also take an extremely hard line about any disrespect aimed at Black women in general by white women.

I doubt Caroline will be laughing at the Australian Open next month if she happens to be in the same half of the draw with Little Sis and they are on opposite sides of a tennis court.

Frankly I pray that happens, and Serena pulls out a can of straight set whoop azz for Wozniacki's flat behind.

Caroline, you really need to shop hatin' on Serena's curves because you don't have them, the only way you'll will is pay a plastic surgeon some of your prize money to get them and you don't have a single Grand Slam title to show for your seven years spent as a tennis pro.

You Were Right: You ARE Just A Bunch Of Racist, Pathetic Sore Losers

Y'all told the truth about yourselves back in 2010 when you first started having those Tea Klux Klan meetings.

Now, one week after your crushing loss to President Obama shattered and splattered your pipe dreams of making him a one term president,  you're now showing your infantile KKKolors and demonstrating for the whole world just how prophetic the above sign in the photo is.

You're not 'Real Americans'.  You are not even worthy of being called Americans because you're demanding to 'secdee' from this nation because of a lost election.

Naw, let's be real about this.  You're frothing at the mouth angry that our African American POTUS once again decisively won another election.  It also frosts you bigots that President Obama and his family will be residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in that nice white house my ancestors built with their unpaid labor through January 20, 2017.

Why don't you hooked on phonics challenged losers do us a favor and self deport yourselves from those of us who wish to move the United States forward into the 21st century and not backwards into the 19th century vanillacentric privileged hell y'all wanted to take it?

News flash: The Canadians don't want you in their home and native land either.

We liberal progressives were beyond pissed about the previous White House occupant stealing two elections.  But unlike y'all we worked to clean up the Bushit at the ballot box.

But if y'all do leave it'll make it easier to give John Boehner something to really cry about interms of having to hand his speaker's gavel back to Nancy Pelosi.

Newt Gingrich Hatin' On Latinos

Now that Newt Gingrich has risen to front runner of the month status in the 2012 GOP Presidential sweepstakes, as Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain have painfully discovered, the increased media scrutiny can be a pain.

Especially when you have a long paper and policy trail as a politician.

Newt made this 2007 speech to more than 100 people at the National Federation of Republican Women event in which he attacked bilingual education and said that Spanish is 'the language of the ghetto.'

"The government should quit mandating that various documents be printed in any one of 700 languages depending on who randomly shows up to vote", said Gingrich in 2007. "The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. … We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto,” Gingrich said to cheers from the crowd.

Umm hmm.. Another example of another GOP candidate putting their bigoted foot in their mouths, and this one is being revealed at an inopportune time for Newt.

Conservafools: If You Really 'Support Our Troops', Stop Hatin' On Islam

One of the things I'm concerned about is the anti Islam attitudes that have been stoked by conservafools around the country for political purposes.

Of course the neo-Know Nothing conservasheeple have responded by using the zoning hearing process in California, Kentucky and Tennessee to deny their ability to be built, attacking or picketing mosque construction sites, and other disturbing nationwide incidents.

In other New York incidents 21 year old Michael Enright was arraigned on hate crimes charges for slashing cab driver Ahmed H. Sharif August 24 after asking him if he was a Muslim. Another is in jail after barging into a local mosque, shouting anti-Islamic slogans, and urinating on prayer rugs.

Another pipe bomb was detonated outside a mosque in Jacksonville, FL a few months ago.

There's also some fools in a conservachurch in Florida who are planning a 'Burn a Quran Day' on September 11, which they are trying to turn into the conservafool national holiday after Ronald Reagan's birthday.

What the conservafools fail to realize is that the Internet runs both ways and this 'hate on Islam' rhetoric isn't occurring in a vacuum. Devout Muslims around the world have computers too and surf the web. They read what our right wing fools do get rightfully pissed off and want to strike back at Americans.

And who are the Americans the adherents of Islam have the easiest access to attack? Our troops on the ground in Afghanistan and military personnel around the world.

That concerns me since I and other people have family members currently in the military. Those deployed in Afghanistan have a rough enough time there without you right wing idiots inciting and antagonizing the 1 billion people who are Muslims.

Religious freedom cuts both ways. Muslims here in the States have every right under the First Amendment to practice their faith without interference from you Islamophobic fools.

If you claim to support the troops, you'll chill with the Islamophobic rhetoric.
