It Is Not Godly To Oppress Trans People

Image result for Dave Welch

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both [are] abomination to the LORD.   Proverbs 17:15

One of the things that bothers me as a Christian is when our right wing pseudo faith based opposition tries to hide behind Scripture and use it to justify their bigotry and hatred.

It is a centuries old tactic for conservatives to try to use the Bible as a shield in their attempts to other and demonize people, and now they are attempting to do so against transgender people.

The Southern Baptist denomination made it the official policy of their church in 2014 to hate trans people, following the Roman Catholic Church in doing so.

One of the basic commandments of our faith is to love thy neighbor as you love yourself.  It's obvious these faux faith based so called 'christians' hate themselves since they are so busy spending their time and hate orgs money bearing false witness against transgender people.

And the most odious part of their transphobic hate rants is that they are aiming them at transgender kids and their parents

I have a major problem with that.   My pissivity about it is heightened even further when you try to claim that God is on your side when you spout your loud and wrong facts free anti trans comments

God hates injustice and the people who push it.  It's even more odious when you pastors are getting paid to push anti-trans hatred for your personal and political gain at trans kids and their parents who unconditionally love them.

Hate is not a Texas value, much less a value in our Christian faith tradition.  Love is.

It is not godly to oppress trans people, and if you pseudo faith bathed oppressors keep pushing that bald faced lie, you will reap what you sow, and the trans folks you are trying to oppress will be standing tall as your efforts to oppress them continue to fail.

The Conservative Movement Is One Of Oppression

Image result for Angela Rye
I keep telling y'all how much I love CNN's Angela Rye for telling it like it T-I-S is and calling people out for BS.

Earlier today on CNN she put Trump supporter Steve Higbie on blast for trying to float those tired 'Party of :Lincoln' and party of Martin Luther King' lies

I'll go a step further than Angela was able to do in that segment and say that the entire conservative movement is one of oppression.

Conservatism An Intellectual Movement? Since When?

James Baldwin once said that "It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have."

That junction of ignorance allied with power has been openly on display in the Republican Party and the conservative movement for the last two decades.

I'm still laughing my azz off at a comment Michele Bachmann made during her speech at the recently concluded CPAC conference in National Harbor, MD in which she stated that "
at its core, the conservative movement was an intellectual movement based on the greatest ideas that have ever been conceived in the minds of man.

"Conference call?" For whom? (Newyorkdailynews.com image)Really?  Since when?  And what were you smoking before you stepped to the podium to make that speech?

At its core the conservative movement is the political arm of white supremacy.  It is all about keeping white men at the top of of the societal food chain dictating policy and returning clueless Stepford women like you to the house to birth and raise them babies.

It is also at its core an attack on Blackness, non-white Americans, the TBLG community,  women, the poor, education, human rights, voting rights, unions, worker's rights, science, the arts, and anyone with the ability to critically think.

Republicans to switch from Elephant to Ferengi? You don't promote family values, it's more like Ferengi Values.  Profits before people.  Hell, I'm surprised you haven't proposed replacing the United States Constitution with the Ferengi Rules Of Acquisition.

But seriously GOP, y'all need to better reflect the current state of your party and the conservative movement by changing your mascot from the elephant to a smiling Ferengi because y'all have so much in common.

Intellectual movement?   The only intellectual activity going on is Conservaworld is coming up with creative ways to unjustly suppress the human rights of people you don't like, justifying greed and selfishness, and keeping your base ignorant about how you're screwing them and laughing about it in your quiet rooms.

John Kenneth Galbraith nailed it when he said this about modern conservatism.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
And they not only are engaged in justifying selfishness, they are also trying to justify bigotry and hatred against anyone who isn't a wealthy white male.

Conservatism an intellectual movement?   Please, many of their proud followers couldn't spell the word 'intellectual' even if you spotted them all the consonants.   You can bet many of them weren't watching Cosmos last night either.  .

Only in their vanillacentric privilege addled minds it is.   .

The Putrid 2012 Texas GOP Platform

Leave it to the Texas Republican Party, those paragons of 'proven conservative leadership' to author a 2012 platform that makes its previous odious ones look 'librul' in comparison.

The planks in the 2012 document contain calls to repeal the 1965 Voting Rights Act, oppose the Employment and Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and the usual hate on the gays language while noting that every Lone Star State Republifool is obligated to carry out this platform.

On the Voting Rights Act:

We urge that the Voter Rights Act of 1965 codified and updated in 1973 be repealed and not reauthorized.

On their opposition to ENDA:

We oppose this act through which the federal government would coerce religious business owners and employees to violate their own beliefs and principles by affirming what they consider to be sinful and sexually immoral behavior.

The Hate the Gays plank:

We affirm that the practice of homosexuality tears at the fabric of society and contributes to the breakdown of the family unit. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle, in public policy, nor should “family” be redefined to include homosexual “couples.” We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin. Additionally, we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction or belief in traditional values.

But the one that caught my attention as the child and godchild of teachers is this eye popping one opposing the teaching of critical thinking skills.

We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.

Oops, can't have those kids learning how to think for themselves and becoming Democrats or (gasp) 'libruls'.  That would stymie our conservaefforts to modify their behavior and turn them into good little gun-toting faith-based creationism believing gay baiting conservafools.

And some of you peeps on the left ignorantly believe there's no difference between Democrats and Republicans.   Really?  Wake the frack up.

Duh, We Non-White Peeps Already Knew That About KKKonservatism

Addictinginfo.com published a very interesting article that discusses Pat Buchanan wannabe John Derbyshire's latest waste of bandwith for a white supremacist site.

In that post he declares white supremacy as one of the "best arrangements in history.'

“The enemies of conservatism are eager to supply their own nomenclature. “White Supremacist” seems to be their current favorite. It is meant maliciously, of course, to bring up images of fire-hoses, attack dogs, pick handles, and segregated lunch counters—to imply that conservatives, especially non-mainstream conservatives, are cruel people with dark thoughts. Leaving aside the intended malice, I actually think “White Supremacist” is not bad semantically. White supremacy, in the sense of a society in which key decisions are made by white Europeans, is one of the better arrangements History has come up with. There have of course been some blots on the record, but I don’t see how it can be denied that net-net, white Europeans have made a better job of running fair and stable societies than has any other group.”

Some blots on the record, John?   Really?  I can think of more than a few such as the Atlantic Slave Trade, Jim Crow segregation, Nazism, the Holocaust, apartheid, wiping out the Central and South American Indian empires, the Caribbean native peoples, nearly wiping out the First Nations and Native Americans in the United States and Canada... gee y'all help me out here

What, you still pissed because your racism got you bounced from the National Review?   Then again, Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. was right in admonishing us African-descended peeps and our allies to be more concerned with the racists wearing Brooks Brothers suits and Gucci pumps than the ones wearing pointed hoods and white sheets.

But duh, every non-white person on Planet Earth and in the United States with the exception of brainwashed souls like Clarence Thomas, Jesse Lee Peterson, Allen West, Janice Rogers Brown, Angela McGlowan,  Herman Cain and whatever Oreo-cookie chomping knee-grow du jour the conservafools trot out as a 'we're not racist' human shield can tell you from painful experience and perusing our history that conservatism only benefits white people.

You white peeps who call yourselves 'proud conservatives' are when we start telling the truth about this fracked up situation nothing more than racism and oppression enablers, and you're either too obtuse to see it, don't care or like the status quo.

Do you really think that African-Americans voting at 90-95% clips for Democratic Party candidates at every level of government occurs in a vacuum?

If you do wake up and stop smelling the vanillacentric privilege and trying to justify the ALEC inspired voter suppression laws.

You damn skippy for mine and my people's survival I despise conservatism.  It is a political system I learned early in life to have no love for that is as Derbyshire let slip out and has been reinforced lately with the foaming at the mouth displays of Obama  Derangement Syndrome courtesy of the Tea Klux Klan and Republican Party is rooted in white supremacy.

Why would I or any self-aware and conscious African-American cast votes that you're busy trying to suppress for conservative politicians that seek to oppress and repress my community?

To expand and remix a Lani Guinier quote, in a racially divided society, we have to always be on guard for our own survival that majority rule doesn't become majority tyranny.

But duh, we already knew that conservatism=racism and white supremacy.  We non-white folks in liberal progressive circles wonder how long it was going to take for you to see that and not have the conservafools mean spirited statements, writings and jacked up governing policies spell it out for you?
