Well people, as of 2 AM right now we are now back to observing standard time in the US for the next few months. So enjoy getting that extra hour of sleep back you lost back in March.
If you haven't done so already, it's time (pun intended) to set those clocks back one hour because if you don't, you'll be an hour early for everything you do today.
And oh yeah, just to make you aware of it, Daylight Savings Time returns in the US on March 8, 2020.

Already? Time To Spring Forward 2018!
It's that time again! (pun intended) This is your friendly TransGriot reminder to unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii, have to move those clocks forward one hour at 2 AM.
If you're a Republican, time to move your clock forward 100 years.
It's time to lost that hour of sleep and move to Daylight Savings Time. You get that hour of sleep you lost back on November 4, two day before the 2018 midterm elections.
So once again, time to spring forward! If you don't, you'll be an hour early for everything you do tomorrow.

Did You Spring Forward Yet?
If you're reading this post and don't live in Arizona, hope you have moved your clocks forward one hour because Daylight Savings Time started today.
If you don't, you'll be an hour early for many of your events and pissed off because you cost yourself an hour of sleep.
So move those clocks and watches if you have one forward an hour.
You'll get to move it back on November 5

Did You Fall Back Yet?
You need to move that clock back one hour so you won't be too early for church and all your planned Sunday social events
Republicans and the conservative movement have already turned their clocks back 100 years, so they're good right now.
So why do we do this as a society every few months? Here's a TIME magazine video explaining why we move our clocks back and forth an hour in the spring and fall.
Enjoy that extra hour of sleep you'll get today. Just a reminder, we'll have to spring forward back to Daylight Savings Time in the US on March 12, 2017

It's 3 AM...Did You Spring Forward Yet?
It's now 3 AM CDT. It's time to move those clocks forward one hour in case you forgot. If you're a Republican voter, move your clocks forward 200 years.
You'll get your one hour of sleep you lost on November 6, two days before Election Day.
So check your watches, clocks and move them forward. If you don't, you'll be an hour early for everything today.

Spring Forward 2012
Was not feeling well yesterday, so was a little disoriented when my alarm clock kicked on with Rev Al's Hour of Power radio coming on at 7 AM. I figured it out that we had a time change, but that usually happens in the tail end of March, not this early in the month.
Well, have my clocks and watch set to the correct time now and won't have to worry about it again until this fall

Samoa Moving Forward In Time
If you're wondering where the world's day begins and ends and what's the dividing line between the eastern and western hemispheres, it's the 180 degree line of longitude in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, better known as the International Date Line. You've heard me mention it in a few posts from time to time on TransGriot when I give shoutouts to my readers on the western side of it on Christmas and New Year's Day.
What it means is that when you cross the International Date Line going westbound, you pick up a day and going eastbound you lose a day once you cross it..
The International Date Line has been adjusted over the years to accommodate the needs of Pacific nations such as Kiribati, which put the entire island nation chain on the western side of it. The date line makes a westerly jog once it passes through the Bering Strait between Russia and the United States so the parts of the Aleutian Island chain west of the 180 longitude line are on the same date with the rest of Alaska.
In a bid to get better aligned time and date wise with its trading partners in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and other Pacific Rim nations Samoa and the three island New Zealand administered territory of Tokelau at midnight today will skip ahead from Thursday to New Year's Eve (Saturday).Samoa made the decision in May and Tokelau followed suit in October. It reverses a decision made 119 years ago in which Samoa switched to the east side of the International Date Line in order to better position itself with trading partners in the US and Europe and nearby American Samoa.
"In doing business with New Zealand and Australia, we're losing out on
two working days a week," said Samoan Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sailele
Malielegaoi. Samoa made the shift to driving on the left side of the road back in 2009 as well to put it more in line with its Asian Pacific Rim neighbors driving habits.
So if you have a Friday, December 30 birthday in Samoa, you won't get to celebrate it unless you do so today or on New Year's Eve because that day will not exist.
You may also wish to check your airline and hotel reservations for that day in Samoa as well.

Don't Forget To Turn Those Clocks Back
Daylight Savings Time ends in the United States on Sunday at 2 AM, so don't forget to fall back an hour.
If you're a Republican, please cease and desist from trying to turn our country back time wise 100 years.

Fall Back! Daylight Savings Time Ends
Don't forget to roll those clocks back an hour before you go to sleep, otherwise you're going to be at least an hour early for everything you do Sunday.
The GOP would like to roll the clock back to the 18th century, but that's another post for another time.
Daylight savings time ends in the States at 2 AM, so it's time to 'fall back' into standard time.

Don't Forget To 'Spring Forward'

Daylight Savings Time starts early Sunday morning, so don't forget to move your clocks up one hour at 2 AM.
I'll also be making sure I'm not farting around on the computer at that time like I have been the last two years. We're losing an hour, so I'll probably crawl into be an hour earlier than I normally do to make up for it.
So remember peeps in the States, Daylight Savings time starts tonight.
