Groundbreaking PBS Journalist Gwen Ifill Dies

Gwen Ifill Dead
As if this week couldn't get any worse, now comes the sad news that groundbreaking journalist, longtime host of PBS' Washington Week' and cohost of the PBS News Hour has died after a months long battle with cancer

Ifill was one of my journalist possibility models, and I admired her for being a White House correspondent, a two time vice presidential debate moderator and just simply being the type of authoritative journalist I want to emulate every day.

We will need journalists like her over the next four years.

Rest in power and peace, Sister Ifill.   You blazed an award winning trail for other journalists to follow and set high standards that those of us who wish to enter journalism would do well to become.

Tamron Hall Practicing Journalism On MSNBC Again

Image result for Tamron hall and AJ Delgado
One of the reasons I love my Lone Star home girl Tamron Hall is because like Joy Reid, hat she practices journalism on her MSNBC show and doesn't let spin slide.

That's a lesson the rest of the media needs to learn and do so quickly in the 62 days left we have left in this campaign.  Call a lie a lie, and don't  let those lies and spin go unchallenged.

The media is not here to be a politician's best bud.  We are here to do the job of getting information voters need to cast informed decisions when they step into the ballot box and hold politicians and others accountable for their BS, not be stenographers to power.

That means at times hard questions need to be asked to get that information, and when the subject tries to spin and obfuscate, you relentlessly keep asking the questions to need the answer to until they do.

The politician needs you to get their message out, not the other way around.

The latest person to learn that lesson the hard way that Tamron's not playing was senior Trump adviser  A.J. Delgado.  She found out quickly that she wasn't on FOX Noise or Caving News Network

This is what real journalism looks like, and what we should have been getting across the board during this entire campaign.

High School Students Call Out FOX Noise

"Based on our studies about the field of journalism, we have determined that you're not practicing journalism. You're practicing rank propaganda." [...]
"By watching Fox News, we have learned buckets about journalism - what to do and, more importantly, what never to do. It is our hope that Fox News can learn the very same from watching us."
Mount Anthony Union HS, Bennington VT

Too bad the people watching that alleged network don't get that point that the students of Mount Anthony Union High School learned while studying journalism.

But I'll let you watch their video and let them tell you themselves..

Also points out why the Republicans hate public schools.  They teach kids to critically think, and that's bad news for conservatism, that requires lots of bamboozled voters to keep them in power.

But the Mount Anthony high school students are far more optimistic about FOX than the rest of us are about the lying news leopard changing its spots.

It won't.  It is a political arm of the Republican Party and the conservafool movement.  If you didn't know that already, the kids at Mount Anthony just helped 'ejumacate' you to that.

Megyn Kelly Has Another Broken Clock Journalistic Moment

Megyn Kelly just renewed her FOX Noise anchor contract despite being seriously courted by other journalistic outlets.  but it seems like she was more than a little pissed off about last week's Shut Up Fool Award winner Erick Erickson's loud and wrong misogynistic comments he made on that all boys troglodytes panel on Lou Dobbs' show.

This FOX noise clip of Kelly eviscerating them is beautiful to watch..

More Journalism Breaking Out At CNN?

One of the things that has pissed me off about the 'mainsteam media' (CBS, ABC, NBC, and CNN) over the last decade is they routinely invite these right wing hatemongers on their networks for interviews, let them Etch-a-Sketch themselves as 'moderates' and never call them on the hateful crap they always say when they are in conservaworld.

CNN's Carol Costello had one of those moments of journalism when she simply read some of AFA hatemonger Bryan Fischer's words back to him and eventually cut off the interview when Fischer started going into incoherent rant mode.

And he's gone batturd crazy because she did.  Fischer called her a 'member of the Gay Gestapo' simply for doing her job.

Soledad O'Brien has been calling out the liars and conservaignorance lately and I guess the rest of her CNN colleagues are starting to follow suit.

About damned time.
