
The krewe has been around for over 100 years and is the only predominately Black krewe that has the distinction of holding its parade on Mardi Gras Day.
Being elected King Zulu is a major honor in the New Orleans Black community, and some of the people who have served as Zulu King and Queen over the organization's history are Louis Armstrong, and current CEO of Johnson Publishing Company Desiree Glapion Rogers
When I lived in New Orleans, it was a must see parade. It took a major hit post-Katrina but has survived and continues to build on its proud history and tradition.
Now can a sister get a Zulu coconut please?
