Shut Up Fool! Awards-Snowpocalypse Now Edition

I'm composing this post while sitting in the 29% of the United States that wasn't covered in snow or ice.

A snowstorm that pounded the Midwest and reached down into the Atlanta area is now slamming the northeast US.

While there are a lot of things I miss about life in Da Ville, one of them isn't snow.  Y'all stay warm, watch your step as you walk around and have fun scraping that ice off your windshields and shoveling it

That's a nice segue into this week's edition of our Shut Up Fool Awards.   It's for you folks new to my blog the feature where I shine a bright spotlight on the fools or fools in our midst..

And as usual, the fools were out.   Andrew Breitbart, Megyn Kelly, Glenn Beck,  Pat Buchanan, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and 2010 SUF Fool of the Year winner Sarah Palin.
But this week I have to give it to Tom DeLay

In the wake of getting sentenced to three years iin jail and 10 years probation for the money laundering in 2002 that allowed the Republicans to take control of the Texas Legislature and subsequently Delaymandered the state in 2003 for massive GOP advantage, he tried to blame his conviction on the fact that he was tried in Travis County.

"I was tried in the most liberal county in the state of Texas, and indeed in the United States," said DeLay to NBC's Matt Lauer in an exclusive Today Show interview. "The point is that this is a political campaign."

No, it wasn't Tommy boy.   If you hadn't funneled $250,000 in corporate contributions to TRMPAC through the RNC and back to the various peeps running for the Lege in violation of the Texas Constitution for the purposes of electing a GOP Texas House, you wouldn't have gone on trail and been convicted there in the first place.

Under state law, crimes involving corruption or bribery of state officials or the legislature must be tried in Travis County.

Tom DeLay, shut up fool!
