TransGriot Note: On each night of the Kwanzaa celebration, just as I did last year,
I'm going to write about each one of those principles and explain how
it applies to the chocolate trans community and our cis African
descended brothers and sisters.
***
Nia (Purpose): To make our collective vocation the building
and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their
traditional greatness.
Haban gari What's The News?
It's time to light the fifth candle on the Kinara and ponder the fifth principle of the seven celebrated during Kwanzaa.
Nia. Making our collective vocation the building
and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their
traditional greatness. This is a principle I'm definitely on board with and as I noticed this year, seems many of my trans brothers and sisters of African descent have come to an epiphany about it as well.
I'm glad our cis brothers and sisters are beginning to realize that the African American community includes transgender people as well and we can no longer afford to be throwing away their talent if we are serious about the task of helping restore our people to their traditional greatness.
As we continue to point out, there is greatness in the African descended trans community that is untapped and unrealized and all it needs is an opportunity to prove it. We also need the trust and confidence from our people that we can own our power as Sharon Lettman-Hicks of the National Black Justice Coalition is fond of reminding us.
The trans community needs to live up to the nia principle by continuing on the path of closing ranks and building our community. We must continue to nurture, support and build TPOCC to become the muscular organization it needs to be to successfully represent us. We must continue those efforts at the local, regional, state and yes international level to build community. Our African Diaspora trans brothers and sisters could use our help just as we need theirs.
And as we continue to draw inspiration from the nia principle, hopefully the end result will be by the end of this decade not only a more cohesive African descended trans community, but in conjunction with our cis brothers and sisters an African descend community that is once again unquestionably on the path we deviated from a bit to get to our traditional greatness.

PETA's Hatin' On Janet Jackson Again
At least PETA tried to do a better job of masking their racism this time when they named their 'Grinches of the Year.' They tried to cover it up by taking swipes at Kim Kardashian and Cameron Crowe.
Jackson launched a collection last year with furrier Blackglama which of course set the PETAoid's off. They gave her their 'Grinch of the Year' award .
Blackglama furs have had as their spokepersons the late Lena Horne, the late Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren and now Janet is part of that legacy.
Basically it's PETA crawling out from under their rocks and issuing a press release slamming celebs who wear fur and who don't give a rats anus what the out of control fools at PETA have to say about it.
This also wasn't the first time PETA has aimed their nastiness at Janet. They did so last year, and now fresh for 2K11, here's what the PETAoid's had to say about Miss Jackson this time.:.
Janet Jackson is a recording legend and icon almost as big as her late brother. Y'all wish her career was dead.
Somehow I don't think she, her fans or many people cares what you people have to say since you over the years have pissed many people off who would have been sympathetic to the animal cruelty message.
But your over the top racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, abelist, fill in the blank antics over the years overshadow it. The fact that PETA head Ingrid Newkirk hangs out with Bill O'Reilly makes me even less inclined to care about whatever they have to say as well.
Besides, you fools dissed the Queen of Soul. I loved what she, Kelis and a long line of fur wearing Black female celebs have had to say about your trifling asses and more than a few bloggers.
I also noted that y'all haven't tried to throw paint on any fur Mary J. Blige owns either after she warned y'all what you happen to anyone who attempted it. . .
Might be fun to watch one of your peeps have to get Mary J's designer pumps surgically extracted from their colon after they attempted to throw paint on her coat. .
But back to your latest escapades. Janet's looking good and rocking that black fur isn't she?
On that note, I think I'll head to KFC for lunch later today and during the drive I'll be cranking up the volume on my Janet Jackson CD's .

"When Janet Jackson had her infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own - unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career),"Really PETA? That was the best y'all could do?
“Ms. Jackson, you’re just plan nasty.”

Shut Up Fool Awards- Last Shut Up Fool For 2011 Edition
Well folks, time flies when you're exposing fools on a weekly basis. Was it only 364 days ago we were getting over our buzz from the New Year's Eve 2011 celebrations and dealing with the reality of giddy Tea Klux Klan members and Republifools crowing about the results of the 2010 midterms?
What a difference 364 days make.
Well, as you TransGriot readers know, it's Friday and time for me to reveal who the last Shut Up Fool award winner for 2011 will be. I will also reveal tomorrow before you head out to get your New Year's Eve partying on who I chose for this year's Shut Up Fool of the Year.
So first things first. Who wan the last Shut Up Fool for 2011?
As always we had a tight competition for this coveted award. Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, a group award for Fox Noise, a group award for PETA, Mitt Romney,Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Sen. Mitch McConnell
The envelope please.
The last Shut Up Fool weekly award winner for 2011 is Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX)
He had a week on the presidential campaign trail in Iowa in which his old racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic newsletters came out and he tried to deny he wrote the racist and homophobic parts.
Yeah, right. The same person who just four years ago declined to 'refudiate' the endorsement of the neo-nazi group Stormfront.
He then accepted an endorsement from genocide pimp Rev. Phillip G. Kayser who has advocated the execution of gay people So tell me again how Ron Paul’s approach to government is consistent with Christian beliefs?.
And the next person with vanillacentric privilege I hear on the liberal progressive side who openly advocates supporting this man's presidential bid I'm going to look at you like you're stuck on stupid, which you are..
And y'all wanna know why I can't stand his or his son's racist behind.
Ron Paul, Happy New Year and shut up fool!

Rep. Lynn Jenkins Telegraphed It Two Years Ago...
They hate President Obama so much they would have a cow if on January 20, 2013 he's standing on the steps of the capitol taking the oath of office for his second term.
Nope, Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) inadvertently let the cat out of the GOP bag at that Kansas town hall. As much as she and the conservafool movement would love to see that August 19, 2009 town hall videotape and the 'Great White Hope' comment disappear, it isn't.
And we African-Americans aren't going to let it disappear, either.
"Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope," Jenkins said to the crowd. "I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington."
Rep Jenkins named Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA). Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as those up and coming young conservative leaders.
So fast forward to 2011 and the current GOP presidential candidate field and the conservative frustration with it comes even more sharply into focus.
They hate Mitt Romney, but none of the other peeps who have risen to 'Anybody But Mitt' status has had the staying power to consolidate their gains. First it was Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who gave it a whirl, then Gov.Rick Perry (R-TX) until his debate gaffe. Then the cookie chomping knee-grow Herman Cain until his philandering ways were revealed along with his utter lack of grasp of policy.
Then it was speaker Newt Gingrich until Romney and everybody else took him down with a barrage of negative advertising Now it's Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and former senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) moving up fast with the Iowa caucuses mere days away.
All of Ron Paul's racist and wacky views are coming to light, and they haven't even begun to touch his son Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) yet. And just wait until they start running the commercials whacking Rick Santorum for his foibles.
In the meantime President Obama's 2012 campaign team is raising money and has the DVR's going to record the GOP debate commentaries that you will probably see in an Obama presidential commercial next fall.. If the POTUS is so 'beatable' as they think he is in conservafool world, then why have Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN), Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), Sen John Thune (R-SD). Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI), former Florida governor Jeb Bush and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin all declined to take him on?
Pondering that fact with the backdrop of the fast approaching Iowa caucuses and the January 10 New Hampshire primary has the conservative movement apoplectic that this lovely January 20, 2009 scene will repeat itself in thirteen months.
And as y'all struggle to find that new Great White GOP Hope, the current president is working to restore the nation from the damage your last Great White GOP Hope caused.
