It's Caroline's Birthday!

The Caroline I'm speaking of who is having a birthday today is British born trans woman Caroline Cossey

She broke ground as a fashion model, author, Bond Girl and Playboy magazine centerfold    She also fought for trans marriage rights in her native country winning in 1989 and losing on British government appeal in September 1990 her case in the European Court of Human Rights..

She was also one of the people who turned the light bulb on for me in the 70's.  Seeing her story in the news helped me begin to define and realize I was trans and it was possible to make something happen to rectify the situation.

She's happily married these days and living on our side of The Pond and hope she has a blessed low stress birthday.

You Don't Like The Effects WWBT's, Don't Produce The Cause

One of the reasons I love Parliament-Funkadelic's music so much is because there was a lot of truth in many of the songs they wrote and produced back during the 70's and 80's that touched on social issues.

One of those truths was echoed in a Funkadelic song entitled 'If You Don't Like The Effects, Don't Produce The Cause'

Lately the WWBT's have been crying white women's tears all over the Net because their 'widdle' pearl clutching feelings have been hurt because I and others have been relentless in not only exposing their racist and exclusionary agenda, making fun of them, and at times pimp slapping them back with the same ferocity of rhetoric they have hurled at others.

They have had their Two Minute Hate on for me and those people who confront them ever since.

Doubleplusgood then.

If y'all don't like the effects of being called the Transsexual Taliban, Transsexual Borg, WWBT's, the Tea Trans Klan and my personal favorite ubermenschen, then you and your transsexual separatists need to stop producing the cause.   I and the rest of the community aren't calling y'all out and whacking y'all with these sobriquets for nothing as much as y'all would like to pimp that lie.  We are reacting to your continued nekulturny actions and jacked up sellout behavior.

You are the ones that for years have using radical feminist language against other transpeople, advocating they get cut out of civil rights coverage, demonizing your opponents, trying to redefine the transsexual definition so it benefits you only and now you're crying white women's tears because you can't take what you've been dishing out for years?

What, you girls were that hooked on your whiteness and white privilege to believe that you could and would be able to continue doing that indefinitely without getting the inevitable pushback from the people you aim your crap at and who are beyond sick and tired of it?

I don't think so.  Moni don't play that, and neither do the folks you've been aiming your lies and your electronic brownshirt tactics at.   Buy a vowel, get a clue, and stop hatin'

And I repeat.  If you don't like the effects WWBT's, don't produce the cause.

ABC's Primetime Nightline Focusing On Trans Kids Tomorrow

Tomorrow' ABC will broadcast a Primetime Nightline segment starting at 10 PM EDT/9 PM CDT that will focus on transkids.

The segment will focus on 'Princess Boy' Dyson Kilodavis, Germany's Kim Petras, who started her transition at age 10 and is believed to have been the youngest person ever at age 16 to receive SRS surgery , ten year old Jackie in Ohio and 19 year old New Yorker Vanessa.

It will also have on it Charles Kane, the poster boy for detransition and critic of early transitions.

While I felt they could have done this segment with having him on it, the notepad will be in hand to check out the broadcast.

2011 Williams Watch-US Open Starting

My favorite tennis playing siblings are playing in the last Grand Slam tournament of the 2011 tennis season at the  US Open in New York.   They are only playing women's singles in this one probably to the relief of the women's doubles competitors.

They are thankfully on opposite sides of the draw once again, with Serena on the side of the draw that contains current world number one player and number one seeded Caroline Wozniacki.

Serena hasn't played her opening round match yet, bit the unseeded Venus has gotten her US Open play off to a successful start yesterday by winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 against Russia's Vesna Dolonts.  26th seeded Little Sis has an opening round match with Serbia's Bojana Jovanoswski.

The US Open continues through September 11, and it would be nice to see them be the last women standing on that day.

Charlie's Angels Coming Back This Fall

What's up with this trend in Hollywood of rebooting the 70's powerhouse shows?   While I'm happy to see the networks dumping the tired reality shows and doing scripted ones in which you have to hire writers and actors for them, I would like to see some original works for a change.

But then again, I have standards. ABC's Work It will not be one of the shows I watch this fall.

I won't have any problem with a remake of A Different World as long as we got to see some of the original cast members on a regular basis and Debbie Allen was either producing it or consulting on it.

But back to the post.   CBS rebooted Hawaii Five O.  TNT is bringing back Dallas next summer, and now we have a reboot of ABC's iconic 1977-1981 hit show Charlie's Angels

The original show featured Kate Jackson and two Texans, Houstonians Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett- Majors.  It became so popular that one of the hottest selling pinup posters of the tail end of that decade was one that featured Farrah Fawcett-Majors, and if your name is Jaclyn or Farrah, you have that show to thank for it..

The rebooted Charlie's Angels is slated for a thirteen episode run and will be set in Miami.   The new Angels are Texan Annie Ilonzeh as Kate Prince, Minka Kelly as Eve French and Rachael Taylor as Abby Simpson.

Ilonzeh has the distinction of being the first African-American Angel, be it in the TV series or the movies.

John Bosley will be back and played by Ramon Rodriguez.   As for the voice of Charlie, that was going to be Robert Wagner, but due to scheduling conflicts he had to pull out of the Charlie's Angels 2K production.

The show is going to air on Thursday nights starting at 8 PM ET.  To my Canadian readers, CTV picked up the series as well so you'll get to see it.broadcast the same night except an hour earlier.

I was a huge fan of the original show, and frankly, I'm interested in seeing how the rebooted series gets handled.

Rev Al Gets His MSNBC Show

Yesterday was the debut broadcast of Rev Al Sharpton's new show on MSNBC at 6 PM ET called PoliticsNation.

Yep, 'the Rev' is now a permanent host in the MSNBC 5-11 PM lineup.

And it's about time.  Ever since he took over for Cenk Uguyr back in July the show has increased its ratings to the point that it trails only FOX Noise in that timeslot.

I also like the fact that since he begun appearing on that show, other African Americans have begun to guest host or speak more frequently on these prime time cable news shows such as Melissa Harris-Perry and  Michael Eric Dyson.   I also hope we'll continue to see more diversity on these prime time shows as well.

Black Transwomen Are Fed Up

I and legions of Black transwomen, no matter our age, are tired of the memes deployed against us that all we want to do is party, escort and have sex.

We have people who take our roles as African descended transwomen seriously.  There are those of us who wish to and are eager to accept the challenge of leadership in this community.   We have people who thirst for knowledge.   There are African descended transwomen who are smart and capable of deep philosophical thought..

And we know that we are beautiful inside and out.

Many of us are well aware of the drama we willingly accepted when we transitioned into our female bodies in terms of the sexism and other issues unique to navigating life in a feminine gender role.  But by doing so that didn't mean we forfeited our status as African descended people or our humanity while doing so.

And now, after a difficult 2011 which has seen more of our transsisters dying, others being shot at by people with and without badges and disrespected by one of our legacy organizations, let me state boldly that we're fed up with this crap.

It's nation time Black transwomen!

If we're fed up with the status quo situation that is deleteriously affecting us, it's past time for us to demand that our humanity and the human and civil rights that go with it are recognized respected and protected.

We are tired of taking the brunt of along with our Latina sisters of this community's anti-trans violence casualties.  We are tired of shedding our blood and tears for our lost sisters but not having a major say in setting the policy directions of or being recognized as leaders in the trans rights movement.

As Eldridge Cleaver said in 1976, "You don't have to teach people how to be human. You have to teach them how to stop being inhuman."

And class is now in session.

You will not be allowed to trample over our human rights any longer.   You will not use us for target practice or think you can hit us with impunity.  You will not walk around with the presumption that you can murder or sexually assault us without legal repercussions.  You will not be allowed any longer to oppress our civil rights without being called on it.   You will not be allowed to erase us from everyday life just to perpetrate the fiction that we don't exist.   You will not deny us a place at the African American family table and every other human rights one we interact with and by right get to sit at..

This is not up for negotiation or debate because we've had enough of being marginalized, erased, denigrated and disrespected inside and outside the TBLG community

Class dismissed.
