Unjust Anti-Trans UN Paper Pwned By Beth Elliott

Was over at Dented Blue Mercedes and just had to link to the post in which Beth Elliot pwned the unjust anti-trans UN paper that radical lesbian trans oppressors Brennan and Hungerford wrote to the UN.

Who is Beth Elliott?  Only one of our trailblazing transwomen who is severely hated on by radical lesbian separatists.

Beth penned a rebuttal to their unjust UN paper that would have deleterious effects on worldwide trans human rights
Honorable Commissioners,

I write in regard to the CSW Communications Procedure submission of 1 August by Cathy Brennan and Elizabeth Hungerford alleging that gender identity anti-discrimination statutes in the United States threaten to violate women’s rights.  Specifically, I write in response and rebuttal to those allegations.
Ms. Brennan and Ms. Hungerford’s submission is not an adequate submission.  It does not at all comply with the Communications Procedure Guidelines for identification and documentation of actual incidents of human rights violations, and should be rejected on those grounds alone.

Happy 175th Birthday Houston!

The 175th anniversary of Texas declaring its independence from Mexico was earlier this year on  March 2, but today is the 175th anniversary of the day that New York entrepreneurs John K.and Augustus Allen founded my hometown on the banks of Buffalo Bayou.

The town they founded has grown to a city of 2.2 million people, the largest in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States.

And it's our birthday today.

I'll be heading down to Market Square Park along with Mayor Annise Parker and the rest of the city for the 5 PM CST start time birthday bash that will celebrate the Allen Brothers founding our internationally recognized city.

For you Houstonians who read TransGriot and missed the announcement about the shindig on the Historic Market Square Park website, here it is.
Join Mayor Annise Parker as she celebrates Houston’s 175th Birthday with live music, food and fun at the place where it all began, historic Market Square Park in downtown. See performances by Interactive Theater and other local groups that will highlight our city’s journey from a small bayou trading post to the booming city it is today. And we won’t even think about celebrating without cupcakes, so come for the entertainment and stay for the sweets!   Blankets, lawn chairs, food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome.  Beer, wine, beverages and food are sold at Niko Niko’s at Market Square.

Happy 175th birthday H-town!

Rebecca Juro Show Podcast Interview Is Up

Back on August 18th I did an interview on the Rebecca Juro show that covered a wide range of topics.   I had a blast, and for those of you who missed it she's posted the podcasts of it for your listening pleasure.

You can access it at this link.

Also accessible for your listening pleasure is last night's Dionne Stallworth interview with Becky.  I always enjoy my conversations with her because we cover a lot of ground on a wide range of issues as well and as one of our trailblazing African descended transpeople she also had much to say about our history and other topics du jour.

Haters Gonna Hate

Comedian Katt Williams spoke some truth here.

So what she/he keeps talking about you and hating on you. What do you think a hater's job is...to hate. If you have someone hating on you right now you better think of how to get five more people hating by Christmas. You need haters to make you stronger..without haters most people wouldn't try to become better. Just tell them b***h you just hate me because you can't be me.'

Well, I have a one line sentence that encapsulates the same thing to my haters.   .

'You hate me because you wanna emulate me.'

And to paraphrase President Franklin Delano Roosevelt,  I welcome your hatred.

It lets me know I'm on the right track in doing what I need to do.  It lets me know that you're 'scurred' of me for whatever reason in your minds. It lets me know that you are so bothered by the fact that I am speaking my truth, uplifting a longtime downtrodden community and fear me doing my part to get Black transpeople to see themselves in a positive light.

When I'm getting inspiring e-mail from people around the country and the world telling me they appreciate what I do, a post I wrote inspired them, or a post I wrote dissuaded them from committing suicide, that means more to me than any sniping or derogatory commentary you haters can come up with.

But haters gonna hate   Take a number and step in that long line of people that wanna spout vitriol at award winning Moni with the award winning blog 'nobody reads'.

All you're doing is talking loud and saying nothing while I empower, educate and enunciate my thoughts as to how we make the trans community better, the TBLG community better, and the nation and the world better..

On that note, I wasted enough bandwith on y'all.   Time to do as Dr. King called it,  some more hard, solid thinking and writing on subjects that matter.

Shut Up Fool Awards- March On Washington Anniversary Weekend Edition

Sunday will be the 48th anniversary of the March on Washington For Jobs and Freedom that took place on August 28, 1963.

On that glorious day 250,000 people crowded the Mall to hear Dr. King's famous 'I Have A Dream' speech.

The March on Washington is credited with helping get passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

This year it was supposed to have the dedication ceremony happen for the MLK Jr. National Memorial  that opened earlier this week , but no thanks to Hurricane Irene making its way up the eastern seaboard this weekend the ceremony had to be postponed.

One of the things we don't postpone and happens rain or shine at TransGriot is our weekly exercise in finding the fool or fools that need to be spotlighted and given our TransGriot Shut Up Fool award for exercising monumental stupidity and foolishness.

As always we had many worthy candidates for this week's honor including Mitt Romney, Megyn Kelly, a group award for Fox Noise, Steve Doocy, a group award for the Republican Party, and Gov Rick Scott (R-FL) .

But this week it goes to Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) . Do I really need to spell it out why?

Okay if you insist.

On the 50th anniversary of the Friendship Nine Sit-In in Rock Hill, SC,  Gov. Goodhair tried to compare our civil rights struggle to the GOP fight for lower taxes

Listen, America’s gone a long way from the standpoint of civil rights and thank God we have. I mean we’ve gone from a country that made great strides in issues of civil rights. I think we all can be proud of that. And as we go forward, America needs to be about freedom. It needs to be about freedom from overtaxation, freedom from over-litigation, freedom from over-regulation. And Americans regardless of what their cultural or ethnic background is they need to know that they can come to America and you got a chance to have any dream come true because the economic climate is gonna be improved.

And we Texans though George W. Bush was an embarrassment to the Lone Star State.    Unfortunately, unlike George who we could pawn off on Connecticut and say he wasn't born in Texas, we don't have that luxury with Paint Creek, TX born Perry.

Rick Perry, shut the HELL up fool
