DWTS Champ Announced-And It Ain't Bristol

The champion was announced on this year's season of ABC's Dancing With The Stars and I can tell you it wasn't Bristol Palin's no dancing behind.

Jennifer Grey and her partner take the mirrored ball championship trophy home over Kyle Massey and his partner, but many peeps in the African-American community's and beyond are still pissed over Brandy's  controversial elimination last week despite having perfect scores.

Some DWTS fans feel it's a tainted championship because of the conservashenanigans.

Just wish some of y'all Black folks beefing about Brandy had taken y'all butts to the polls November 2 and  been this fired up over the 2010 midterms, but I digress.

As long as the Spawn of Sarah wasn't holding that trophy, it's all good.

NCLR Incident Report For Trans Travelers

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest travel day of the year.  Transpeople already have their share of personal anxieties when they interface with the public transportation system, and the heightened concerns about the TSA only exacerbate them.

For you trans folks about to fly home or to wherever for the holidays, the National Center for Lesbian Rights wants to document any stories about the new TSA policies that negatively impact you.

The goal is to compile evidence that these policies are problematic for trans travelers, take it to the TSA and push for the changes in training, techniques and attitudes amongst TSA employees that will make our flying experiences more pleasant

Here's an incident report form to use if you have a negative TSA experience you'd like to share with the NCLR

Texas Bathrooms Have Transsexuals In 'Em

TransGriot Note:  The first time I rewrote this song it was because of my anger over the Araguz case.   This time I'm rewriting 'Texas Has A Whorehouse In It' to slam the absurdity of Tyjanae Moore being arrested for simply using the fracking bathroom.

So y'all know the drill.   Grab those iPod's and sing along with Moni's remixed lyrics.

Texas Bathrooms Have Transsexuals In 'Em
(sung to the tune of 'Texas has a Whorehouse In It' from The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas musical)

Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em
(Lord have mercy on our souls)
Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em
(Lord have mercy on our souls)

You're using public bathrooms and it fills me with disgust
Fixated on your genitalia to cause a fuss

(your genitalia to cause a fuss)

Black transwoman used the bathroom and you fools have gone plumb wild
Yep she's peed, didn't deny it, now you Reichers are getting riled
Security guard was tripping 'cause she hated homegirl's change
Wingers want to stop it but nothing 'bout all that is strange.

(nothing 'bout all of that is strange)

Transwomen peeing and pooping in the women's restrooms (oh no!)
Transmen peeing and pooping in the men's restrooms (oh no!)
Transpeeps are getting uppity, that much is very clear
Welch is sayin' they can't use the bathrooms up in here

And now our own GOP Singers

(Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em)

I'll put an end to this charade

(Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em)

Stopping them is our crusade.
This is just disgusting and I'll fight it till I drop
Transsexual defecation going on.
And it must stop

Stop that defecation!
Transsexual defecation!
Stop that defecation!
Transsexual defecation!

Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em
Lord have mercy on our souls
Texas bathrooms have transsexuals in 'em
Lord have mercy on our souls.
Ministers hatin' on you and they'll fight you till they drop
Transsexual defecation going on, going on, going on, going
on, going on, going on.

Don't touch that browser!
This is the Party of No saying we'll be back, with new and revealing information about this and other cases.
'Cause we right wing haters never sleep

(Chorus) And it must stop.
Haters going to get you
Going to shine their light on you
Haters going to get you
Going to shine their light on you.

Nikki Araguz Fundraiser Tonight

TransGriot Note: For those of you who have some free time tonight, want to help a trans sister out and find out what's transpiring in the Nikki Araguz case,  you may wish to swing by the Fedora Lounge starting at 7:30 PM CST and check out the combination fundraiser and trial update.

Please join Phyllis Frye and the entire Nikki Araguz legal defense team to learn more about the newest courtroom battle for marriage equality – a local case that can help us take a tremendous step forward for GLBT rights.

The event will take place at the Fedora Lounge, 2726 Bissonnet, Houston, TX  tonight from 7:30 pm CST - 9:30 pm CST

In July of this year, Wharton volunteer firefighter Thomas Araguz passed away in the line of duty. Since then, his parents have filed suit attempting to get Thomas’s marriage deemed void because of his wife’s tr...ansgendered status.

Because of a little-known change to the Texas Family Code by the state legislature in 2009, and a recent incident in El Paso County, this case has become one of the next biggest legal battlegrounds for GLBT rights. It has potential implications for every GLBT person in the state of Texas.

Cash is accepted, and so are checks. Please make checks out to Operation: Understanding Transgender Law and Winning or “OUTLAW” for short.
