Colin Powell Endorses President Obama Again

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed President Obama moments ago during an appearance on CBS This Morning.

"I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012 and I'll be voting for he and Vice President Joe Biden next month." Powell said to Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell.

Despite this huge endorsement and now doing so in 2008 and 2012, he says he remains a Republican.

"I think I'm a Republican of a more moderate mold," he said before adding, "That's something of a dying breed I'm sorry to say."

So are we, Secretary Powell, so are we.

POTUS 'Romnesia' Diagnosis

The POTUS at a recent Fairfax, VA rally diagnoses that strange ailment Mittens is suffering from called 'Romnesia'.

This Is What A Commander In Chief Looks Like

And there's a certain slice of the US electorate that has a major problem with the fact that the President of the United States of America and the Commander in Chief of our armed forces is African-American.

Frack 'em.  They are also the same Fox addled low education idiots who think in their bigoted minds that in his fours year on the job he hasn't done jack and is the 'worst president ever'.

yeah, all the presidential brother did was stop our country's slide into a second Great Depression, save the US auto industry from collapse, pass comprehensive health care, repeal DADT, pass the Byrd-Shepard hate crimes Bill, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, repair our diplomatic relationships with the world Junion and friends messed up, end the Iraq war, and get Osama bin Laden and 30 of his top al-Qaeda lieutenants..

And yeah, he knows more about foreign affairs than the shape shifting Republican nominee that changes his policy positions faster than his underwear and has the respect and admiration of the planet.

So keep on hatin'.   This is what our commander in chief looks like .

Third 2012 Presidential Debate Wrap Up

While the Chicago Bears were dominating the Detroit Lions during their 13-7 victory at Soldier Field last night, in the other big Chicago vs Detroit matchup on the political stage President Obama also won big in his final debate with challenger Mitt Romney.

Hey, that's not just my chococentric assessment of this debate.   Three snap post debate polls show that the POTUS won.  The loud conservafool whining  already commencing on the Net about the moderator, speaking time and other issues tells me all I need to know about who won in addition to what I watched transpire over those 90 minutes.

The 'Big Chief' as Tom Joyner calls him showed up at this debate, but he was confronted with another version of Moderate Mitt.   This time Mitt was in 'me, too' mode repudiating stances he took during the Republican primary and over the six years he's run for POTUS and President Obama called him on it.

And note to Mitt Romney, check a map the next time you try to go into a foreign policy debate because it's obvious you are woefully lacking in that aspect of the POTUS job and having the GW Bush foreign policy peeps sniffing around you doesn't help..     .

First you tried to claim the AFRICAN country of Mali is in the Middle East, and then later you tried to claim that Syria was Iran's path to the sea.   Um dude, ever heard of two bodies of water called the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz?

There was also that devastating counter to Mittens talking point that the US Navy has less ships than it did in 1916 and the President swiftly and snarkily whacking him with the point that the US military has fewer horses and bayonets.

“You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets … because the nature of our military's changed," the president taunted. "We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines.”

The Commander in Chief was in command of the facts, knew his stuff foreign policy wise while Mitt was sweating, saying the POTUS has done a great job, and regurgitating his loud and wrong foreign policy campaign talking points President Obama ripped to shreds.

That's why President Obama whupped that Mitt again when this evening at Lynn University was over.   Now with 14 days left until Election Day we'll see if the voting public sees it that way as well.

Final Presidential Debate Tonight

After I finish handling my civic duty, I'll be parked in front of the TV with notepad in hand checking out the final debate in Boca Raton, FL between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

The debate at Lynn University is supposed to be focused on the subject of foreign policy and will be moderated by Bob Scheiffer of CBS.   I have the suspicion that both candidates will do their best to sneak in commentary about domestic issues during this 90 minute battle.

And TransGriot readers, I implore you to have no drinking games based on how many times Mitt lies.  You'll be risking alcohol poisoning if you do.

I also wonder if the conservafools are going to attack Bob Schieffer before the debate starts like they did Martha Raddatz and Candy Crowley?

Yes TransGriot readers, just as I have done for the last three debates, I will post my thoughts and impressions about how it transpired around midnight CDT.

Second 2012 Presidential Debate Wrap Up

When the high stakes second presidential debate started at Hofstra University Multiple Choice Moderate Mitt Romney was there.

The problem for Mitt Romney was that 2007-2008 Obama was in the room and proceeded to spank that azz.

It was a town hall style format in which the questions came from the audience, and this time President Obama challenged Mitt Romney from the outset.   Romney also tried to run over moderator Candy Crowley like he did with Jim Lehrer two weeks ago in Denver and she wasn't having it.

Neither was President Obama, who called Romney's butt out every chance he got and mentioned the issues he left on the table in Denver to the frustration of his base.

The POTUS was on his debating A game last night while a flummoxed Mitt Romney made some unforced errors.   The critical one came when Mittens thought he had the POTUS cornered on a question pertaining to the Benghazi, Libya consulate attack and he was embarrassingly corrected not only by President Obama, but called on his lie that the president never called the Benghazi attack a terror one by moderator Candy Crowley.   President Obama also called Mittens butt out for playing politics with the issue as well and called it offensive his insinuation that the POTUS or any member of his administration would play politics with a situation in which 4 diplomats died.

Mittens also got called on his immigration policies when the POTUS pointed out his campaign adviser was Kris Kobach, the author of the Arizona SB 1070 law Romney called 'a model for the nation'.

In the final question of the night Romney opened the door for the president to use the 47% comment against him and the POTUS whacked Romney with it in his closing statement as the debate ended..

President Obama was on a mission last night and he accomplished it.  He confronted Romney on his lies, vigorously defended his administration and his policies, fired up the base, and convincingly won this second debate.  Now we'll see not only how the conservafools spin this debate, but which way the polls go in reaction to this Obama win.

They're already attacking Candy Crowley, so that means they think Mittens lost.

The October 22 debate in Boca Raton, FL with its focus on foreign policy will definitely be a fun and critical one.  Whether it determines the outcome of the election remains to be seen.

Countdown To Texas Early Voting

October 22 can't get here fast enough for me.

I've already made up my mind who I'm voting for.  All I'm impatiently waiting for is the opportunity to cast my ballot and I'm highly motivated to do so.

On that date I'm making a beeline for the nearest early voting center to the crib.  If any True the Vote peeps are at my particular early voting center when I arrive, warning you vanillacentric privileged oppressors now to stay the hell out of my way.

Once I get to the check in table all I will need to do thanks to Section V of the 1965 Voting Rights Act to cast my ballot is show the poll worker my yellow Texas voter registration card.   They will hand me my numbered slip after I sign the voter roll next to my name.  I'll take it, head to the nearest open electronic voting machine, punch in the code on that slip, grin, laugh and will commence to gleefully start firing Republicans for being arrogant enough to try to keep me from voting.

Yeah Texas GOP, I took it personally when you tried to pass that jacked up voter suppression law during the 2011 legislative session.

When you conservafools did that, I circled the date on the calendar for when I'd be able to pay you back for trying to frack with my ability to vote in my home state. ..

So what if my vote isn't going to swing Texas to President Obama?   It's still needed for congressional races, state house and state senate races, the state board of education races, other state offices and judicial races.

My vote is also required to decide the bond elections we're having here in H-town for HISD and Houston Community College, Harris County government races and Texas constitutional amendments.

I'm fired up, ready to vote, and ready to move this country, my state, and my county forward..  The Houston city elections happen next year when Mayor Annise Parker tries for her third and final two year term.

Electoral revenge is a dish best served up cold in the voting booth and I can't wait until Monday..  .

Rosie Perez Smacks Mittens In Video

"Being Latino wouldn't win you the election, but saying jokingly that you wish you were may actually lose it for you."  Rosie Perez

Rosie Perez in a new video calls out Mitt Romney for the joke he made that was caught on the infamous 47% video.

He joked he would have an easier time in this election if he were Latino and Perez humorously reminds viewers of all the "Hispanic presidents" from "Jorge Washington to "Jorge Bush, uno y dos."

"Oh my goodness, what if you were just a little bit gay, Mitt? Think of all the advantages that would provide. No, wait for it. What if you had a vagina? If you were a gay Latina this election would be in the bag for you. Unfortunately, for you Mitt, you were cursed with the hard-knock life growing up as the son of a wealthy governor and auto executive," says Perez, as she wipes away fake tears.

She also bluntly says why he has little support in the Latin@ community.   "Your policies suck."

You know Rosie, that's the same reason a large majority of African-Americans ain't voting for Willard either.

Besides, we like the African-American family that currently occupies that nice house our ancestors built with their unpaid labor at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and want them there until January 20, 2017..

Denver Presidential Debate Wrapup

"The trends look good for President Obama and the Democrats, but we still have a nerve racking 35 days to go, three debates and ballots that need to be cast and counted on November 6 before victory can be declared.

Much is at stake when the two candidates face off in 90 minutes that will determine how the rest of this election shakes out."   TransGriot October 3, 2012

That's what I wrote before last night's debate.   Yeah, the conservafools are all giddy because Mittens had the strong debate performance he needed and according to the polls that the Republicans now suddenly don't have a question about their accuracy (big surprise) now have declared their guy the winner of this first presidential debate.

Jim Lehrer's pathetic debate moderation only put an exclamation point on what we non-white Americans were concerned about in terms of the lack of diversity in the moderator lineup when it was first announced by the Debate Commission.

Lehrer let Romney run all over him like the Houston Texans Bulls on Parade defense did Jake Locker last Sunday.

While President Obama was ticking off the facts, Romney was lying his azz off and not getting called on it.  But at the same time he looked like he wanted to be there and the POTUS seemed like he didn't .   Maybe it was because it was President Obama's wedding anniversary, I don't know.   President Obama did look flat to me and as my GLAAD media training instructor Joel Silberman would have said about this performance last night, Romney did a better job of faking it until you make it.

But one thing Romney wont be able to fake over the next two debates and the next 34 days is his sudden conversion from Mr. Severe Conservative to Mr. I Feel Your Pain Middle Class Moderate especially in light of the overwhelming body of severely conservafool evidence he's anything but that..

But I was concerned about the fact that the POTUS seemed off his game and more concerned about not looking like the 'Angry Black Man' than calling Mitt Romney on his bull feces, especially in light of the fact Jim Lehrer wasn't.

So we'll see how this plays out in the polls over the next few days, but this does place more pressure on Joe Biden in the Vice Presidential Debate at Centre College on October 11.

And if anyone on the liberal-progressive side was concerned about our side being overconfident over the next 34 days, well people, we just got the wake up call to take nothing for granted, bust our asses to get the POTUS and every Democrat elected and keep running hard toward the finish line until November 7.

Hope the president and the Obama 2012 team got that message, too.

Critical First Presidential Debate Tonight In Denver

The highly anticipated first debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney happens at 8 PM CDT tonight at the Magness Arena on the University of Denver campus in Denver, CO.

While President Obama's campaign is pleased and cautiously optimistic about where they are at this juncture in the race, the Romney campaign finds itself in a desperate situation with 35 days to go.

Romney is trailing nationally according to the polls in all nine critical battleground states and most ominously in Ohio and Florida thanks to the inept way they have handled their campaign (thank God) since they clinched the GOP nomination..

The GOP attempts to suppress non-white voters and others that made up President Obama's winning 2008 coalition have failed or are being rolled back in the courts.  With every investigative news report revealing the extent of the Jim Crow 2.0 efforts, the targets of those voter suppression efforts are pissed off, fired up and ready to vote out the GOP batturd wing at every level of government..

And these videos of Mitt and his running mate disparaging large percentages of working class voters only poured gasoline on the fire.

VP Joe Biden will handle that in the vice presidential debate on October 11.

And I haven't even touched on how the GOP War On Women is also playing into why the Romney-Ryan not so dynamic duo is losing.

Republicans and the conservative movement are getting nervous with early voting starting to happen in some locales and their bold predictions of taking the Senate and holding their majority in the House looking quite shaky.

The trends look good for President Obama and the Democrats, but we still have a nerve racking 35 days to go, three debates and ballots that need to be cast and counted on November 6 before victory can be declared.

Much is at stake when the two candidates face off in 90 minutes that will determine how the rest of this election shakes out.

Ohio Handling Its Early Voting Electoral Business

Umm Republifools, this is probably your worst nightmare unfolding with lines of pissed off African-Americans and other voters waiting for the early voting centers to open at 8 AM EDT.

Ohio State Senator Nina Turner (D-Cleveland) was on The Ed Show last night camping out in front of one of the locations in Cuyahoga County giving another one of her fiery and inspirational speeches dropping much historical knowledge about how much we've had to struggle just to be able to cast a ballot..

Looking forward to seeing her in Congress, the US Senate or a larger statewide office in Ohio one day..

The 44 year old state senator has been a frequent guest on MSNBC shows calling out the voter suppression efforts in Ohio

"Never did I think I would live to see the day Jim Crow was resurrected, making repeat appearances in the South. And he has packed his bags, and he has moved North. Something is wrong."

Yep, something is most definitely wrong, and thanks Sen. Turner for being a vocal champion that frequently calls out the jacked up Jim Crow 2.0 GOP voter suppression efforts in Ohio.

Now it's up to you voters in Ohio to let the GOP know how displeased you are about it by handling your electoral business, helping President Obama win the state and dealing a fatal blow to Romney's chances of winning this presidential election since no Republican has ever won the White House without your state's electoral votes..

This 2012 Election Is STILL About The Supreme Court

As much as the pundits will try to make this election about the economy, I submit this election is about a far more important factor the media pundits aren't talking about in terms of the Supreme Court.

I bring this subject up because in a few hours another term of our nation's highest judiciary body starts and runs through June 2013.   Just as in the last term, there will be some contentious subjects such as Section V of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, same gender marriage, Prop 8 and affirmative action that come up to be argued in front of the 5-4 conservative leaning Roberts Court.

It hasn't escaped my attention that there are four justices who are over 70 years of age.  Clinton appointed Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg (77) and Stephen Breyer (71) are past that age on the liberal progressive side.

Reagan appointed Supreme Court Justices Anthony Kennedy (73) is a predominately right leaning swing vote, and reliably conservative Antonin Scalia is 74.

The next president (and I pray it's a second term President Obama) could possibly get to appoint three and possibly four Supreme Court justices during his next term  and shape the direction and political orientation of it for the next thirty to 40 years.

For you people who claim there's no difference between the two parties, nowhere does your rhetoric look more delusional and politically clueless than when it comes to what person is in the Oval Office picking Supreme Court justices and judges for the federal judiciary.

The last thing I want is a President Romney (yecch) advised by Robert Bork picking those justices.

I would rather have it continue in the liberal-progressive direction of being diversified as the trend has been under President Obama.

We have already seen President Obama's first two picks be women in terms of Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

I'd also like to remind people there has never been an African-American woman, an Asian of any gender, a Latino male or a Native American jurist of any gender selected to serve on the SCOTUS.

As a matter of fact President Obama's judiciary picks have been leaning heavily towards women and persons of color.   He has had appointed and confirmed a record 72 women to the federal judiciary in his first term with 29 of those women being non-white ones.   31 of President Obama's judicial picks were African-American, three were openly gay and there is no reason to doubt that pattern won't continue in a second Obama term

With a gridlocked Congress, the federal judiciary will become more important to advancing our human rights agenda.  With 90 federal judicial vacancies and four potential ones at the Supreme Court level diversity in the federal judiciary not only improves the quality of the decisions rendered by federal courts, it's a trend I want to see continue.

It's not only about the economy stupid, it's about the federal judiciary. and especially the political orientation the Supreme Court will take for the people in my generation for the rest of our lives.

Ponder that point as you enter the voting booth on November 6 or whenever during this month you get to cast your early voting ballots.

The First 2012 Presidential Debate In One Week

On October 3 the first of three presidential debates will take place on the University of Denver's campus between President Obama and his challenger Mitt Romney

The debate will focus on domestic policy and be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on topics to be selected by the moderator and announced several weeks before the debate.  The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a discussion of the topic.

This University of Denver debate will be moderated by Jim Lehrer (and I already vented along with the National Association Of Black Journalists and Univision about the lack of melanin in the Commission on Presidential Debates choices for those moderators and their weak azzed defense of it).

Yeah, still pissed about the fact there are no POC moderators for these debates and there hasn't been one since Carole Simpson did so 20 years ago.   But even she has commented about how little things have changed in 20 years.

But the best part is that in this UD debate or the two remaining ones Mitt won't be able to lie unchallenged.  This debate will also be occurring on the 20th anniversary of the marriage of the POTUS and FLOTUS (how cool is that?)

Also looking forward to the vice presidential one on October 11 between Vice President Joe Biden and Paul Ryan.

Already stocking up on the popcorn because this is going to be a make or break moment for the floundering Romney-Ryan campaign.  Either he steps it up or the Obama team can start planning their second inauguration ceremony on January 20 after the national handles its electoral business on November 6 and puts Romney out of his political misery.

Mitt Hates 47% Of This Country-And The Feeling's Mutual

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what... Our message of low taxes doesn't connect...so my job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the five to 10 percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful...." Mitt Romney at fundraiser.
Since you just accused 47% of this country of being moochers, show us your tax returns for the last ten years, Mitt.

I already had a deep mistrust of Mitt Romney's out of touch behind and the smirking arrogance of him and his wannabee First Lady wife Ann.   But the comment that broke during last night's news cycle left no doubt as to who and what party's candidates I will be voting for on October 22, the first day that we can early vote in Texas.

I was already quite determined to cast a ballot in this election cycle after the GOP controlled Texas Legislature's attempt to suppress  my ability to vote got legally pimp slapped in federal court..

Now this most recent attempt to suppress non-white votes in Texas  combined with this insult has just poured gasoline on the fire.

And note to you knee-grows considering sitting out the election because you're 'upset' about President Obama expressing support for same gender marriage.    Are you crazy?

We got bigger issues to deal with in the African-American community than you allegedly being pissed off about same gender marriage.  Mitt Romney damned sure doesn't care about us enough to even come to our communities and respectfully ask for our vote.   And you fools are going to turn your back on the sitting African-American president who has asked for your votes because of some sellout conservapimp preacher flapping his gums?

If you knee-grows want to be stupid enough to fall for that okey-doke and let the vanillacentric privileged conservafools at NOM who don't have yours or our community's best interest at heart play y'all like that, be my guest.

But you have my utter contempt for spitting on the blood that was spilled at the Edmund Pettus Bridge by Rep. John Lewis and others for you stupid cookie chomping knee-grows to even have the opportunity to cast a ballot.

And were you not paying attention to Mitt's party tying to suppress your ability to even cast a ballot and his smug behind not saying a word about it?

I'm going to take my frustration out on Mittbot at the ballot box on October 22 and I suggest that many of you peeps join me in doing so.  To get the electoral party started, get busy clicking this GottaVote.org link so you too can express your displeasure and disgust with Mitt and his party at the ballot box.

"It's hard to serve as president for all Americans when you've disdainfully written off half the nation," said Obama campaign manager Jim Messina.

Mitt's making it clear he not only doesn't like 47% of the country, he doesn't care about us.  The feeling is increasingly mutual, especially for those of us who aren't in his quiet rooms and living his 1% lifestyle.
