Post Number 3500

Another day, another milestone post here at TransGriot.     You're looking at Post Number 3,500 since I started the blog almost five years ago.

That's a lot of writing!     But I have enjoyed every moment of it, especially since I have a lot to say about a wide range of issues, and not just TBLG community ones.

Many times I find myself being the only person willing to stand up and say it.

I also see it as a calling.   We Black transwomen don't have anyone writing positive articles about us on a regular basis, so that proud duty has fallen on me to do so as I continue to walk in the pumps of Roberta Angela Dee  and pick up where she left off  when she passed away in 2003.

Thanks for continuing to support what I do here at TransGriot.  I'm blessed to have you readers take some of your valuable web surfing time and stop by the blog on a regular basis.

Now on to the next milestone...Post number 4000

1000 Posts This Year!

I know I have a lot to say at times, the news comes fast and furiously and I can be rather prolific in terms of the number of posts I crank out, but even I'm astounded by hitting this milestone.

I fell just short of writing 1000 posts for the year in 2009 and didn't think I'd ever get that close to hitting that milestone again.

But thanks to the fact this was a midterm election year, we have a lot of trans news to talk about, and I have opinions about a lot of subjects, I've easily achieved this goal with more than a month remaining in 2010.

But then again, when you've had five straight months of 100 or more posts, it can add up fairly quickly.

Thanks TransGriot readers for letting me know how much you appreciate my work and writing so that I'm motivated to keep cranking out quality posts for your enjoyment.

Post Number 3000!

TransGriot readers, you are now feasting your eyes upon post number 3000 since I started this humble blog.

I've had a lot of things to say about a wide range of subjects since I started the blog on January 1, 2006 and I'm not tired of it yet.

Maybe the people I call out on their BS are, or wish I would cease and desist putting my size 12 pumps up their behinds, but I'm not.

I do want to profusely thank those of you who take the valuable time out of your day to surf over here and check out TransGriot. Without you doing that, it wouldn't have grown to become one of the leading blogs award winning blogs on the Net of its type and one that's considered to be an authoritative one on trans issues.

I'll continue to do my part to fulfill the blog's mission of making you think and exposing you to some of the drama that African-American transpeeps (and transpeople in general) deal with.

And now, onward to the next TransGriot post milestone. Post 3,500 here I come

TransGriot Post 2500!

Another day, another milestone here at TransGriot.

You are now reading post number 2500 on this humble blog since I started it on January 1, 2006.

2,500 posts means I've had a lot to say about a cornucopia of issues here and on other blogs for a while. It also means that those of you who come to read TransGriot think that what I have to say on various trans and non trans issues is important enough for you to spend some of your valuable web surfing time here perusing this blog.

Thank you for your insightful commentary, the positive e-mail messages, story tips and announcements about trans community events you send to me.

As I've stated, I want an interactive, thinking community, and sometimes I find out about stuff when your loyal readers tell me what's up.

And if you have a comment, don't be shy. Express yourselves.

But without you reading it and telling your friends about the blog, I'd just be writing to nobody in particular.

Thank you for reading TransGriot. Next stops on the blog milestone express: 1.5 million hits and 3000 posts.

1 Million Visitors!

Been anxiously awaiting passing this significant blogging milestone all day and it has finally happened.

At 3:55 PM EST today I had the honor and pleasure of the 1 millionth visitor surf over to my humble blog since I installed the hit counter on January 17, 2007.

Thanks to all of you loyal TransGriot readers who take the time out of your busy day around the world to surf by my cyberhome and check it out.

Some of you have told a friend or multiple friends about TransGriot, and that's all good in the cyberhood as well.

Some of you even drop comments from time to time as well and I thank you for it while others have hit the donate button on the sidebar and show their love and respect for what I do that way.

But I couldn't end this milestone post without saying this.

If it weren't for you wonderful people visiting on a regular basis, I'd be just another blog in the cyber wilderness.

Thank you, and now it's on to the next milestone

2000 Posts!

You are looking at another TransGriot milestone.

This post is the 2000th one I have composed for this blog since I started it on January 1, 2006.

Wow, guess I had a lot to say about trans issues and many others from an African flavored perspective, huh?

It's awe inspiring to note that I get people all over the planet who take the time out of their busy days to surf over here to TransGriot and read what I have to say about trans and other issues in the world surrounding me.

I have been blessed with new friends since the start of this blog. I've seen my writing quoted by people, linked to by influential newspapers and even seen some of the catchphrases I came up like conservafool starting to appear elsewhere in the blogosphere and beyond.

I'm even starting to get awards for it.

But as I shoot for post 2500 and beyond, the basic mission of TransGriot hasn't changed.

That mission, dear readers, is to educate, inform and entertain you at the same time.

Thank you TransGriot readers for your support and coming along for the ride.

1,500 Posts

Another day, another milestone here at TransGriot. You're looking at post number 1,500 since I started composing posts on this blog on January 1, 2006.

After a gradual buildup over 2006 into a regular posting cycle as I tried to figure out where I wanted to take the blog, its evolved, grown by leaps and bounds and the posts have been coming fast and furiously since then. It's been a joy to see the improvement in my writing and just the look of this blog since that date.

It's allowed me to chronicle history from my humble point of view at the time. In addition to covering a wide range of subjects, the best part is TransGriot will be a record of my thoughts as the historic election of Barack Obama to the presidency was taking shape. It's also chronicling transgender history as it takes shape as well.

I've also talked about life as a transgender person from the point of view of a POC, and hope I've given you a feel for it through an African-American prism. I also hope at the same time I've done my job in edutaining you as I talk about the issues we deal with.

There's plenty more writing to come, and it's time to get busy and start working toward milestone post number 2000!

500,000 Hits!

TransGriot has passed another milestone in its growth as of 5:25 PM EST. Today I had my 500,000th hit since I placed my hit counter on the blog back on January 17, 2007!

While I'm proud of that fact, the bottom line is that it couldn't have been accomplished without those of you around the world who use your valuable web surfing time to slide over here and see what I have to offer on this blog.

It's nice to know that you appreciate the hard work I put in to make this an entertaining and informative blog as well not only on transgender issues, but my viewpoint and analysis on the news events of the day as well.

Thanks for stopping by, it's deeply appreciated. Now on to the next milestone!

1000 Posts!

This is my 1000th post on TransGriot!

I didn't expect to hit this milestone so soon. I actually beat my projection for it by three weeks. There's been so much going on this month in terms of the Olympics, the just concluded historic Democratic convention, and various African-American transgender people either achieving milestones or being screwed by the judicial system that I had a lot to write about this month.

I had a few goals in mind when I started this blog on January 1, 2006. At the time I started it there weren't many African-American transgender people blogging about transgender and host of other issues through the eyes of a proud African-American transwoman.

I also wanted to look at things with an international view as well and include news about transpeople of African descent from across the Diaspora in order to broaden the conversation about transgender people. It made no sense to me that there was little or no news from the second largest continent on our planet about transgender issues. I wanted to point out that transgender people are not just concentrated in Europe, Asia, the Pacific islands or the Americas.

As I compose this 1000th post there are as of now four known African-American transgender blogs. I'm beginning to be frequently linked to and quoted in the blogosphere, even by organizations like the Evil Equal Sign one that I've castigated for years for their callous disregard of transgender people.

I've written about how critical ENDA is to us living a quality life. I'm starting to be presented with some speaking opportunities and people on other blogs have begun to ask me to compose guest posts. I'm shocked sometimes when I hear people tell me or put in writing not only how much they admire me, but see me as a role model. I'm humbled that people value my opinion that much to ask, and I feel honored and blessed by the opportunity to do so.

I'm a member of the AfroSphere, my Black Blog Ranking is exponentially climbing toward becoming one of the Top 50 Black Blogs and my Technorati ratings are rising. I've been a contributing writer for The Bilerico Project for almost a year.

I've even gained some wonderful friends here in the States and internationally as a result of starting TransGriot.

Wow, 1000 posts in just a little over three years. And I'm still not done yet.

500 Posts!

When I started TransGriot on January 1, 2006 I just simply wanted to get the voice of an African-American transperson into the blogosphere. I noticed that we were absent from the conversation and in the spirit of my ancestors, decided to do it my damned self and provide that voice.

It took me a little less than three years, but I've now reached the 500 posts milestone. Hmm. I guess I've had a lot to say over the last two and a half years.

Now I'm headed to the next milestone post level. I still have a lot of thoughts to express about myriad issues. I'm glad that you surf your way to my blog and keep coming back, and I thank you for that.

I was reading Alexandra Billings' Stillettos and Sneakers blog the other day and ran across an interesting post. It takes you to a site that asks you to plug in the blog URL and spits back a blog readability level.

I decided to check it out and see what TransGriot would score and it spit back an undergraduate college level score. I'm going to have to play with it and see what ratings other blogs and websites got according to this site.

I found it interesting.

One of my goals when I started TransGriot was to create an informative blog that people would enjoy reading and come back to. My steadily climbing Technorati authority ranking and your comments are a testament to how well I'm doing in achieving that goal.

Speaking of comments, I enjoy receiving them from you TransGriot readers on my various posts, so please keep them coming. I deeply appreciate the feedback.

Even if the rating says it's undergraduate college level reading, whatever your educational level is, don't let that 'scurr' you from checking out what this Phenomenal Transwoman has to say about the world around her.
