Minnesota Rainbow Community 'Apologizes' To GOP Oppressor For Ruining Her Marriage

Hee hee hee.   Laughing my butt off about the letter that Minneapolis resident John Medeiros worte on behalf of the Minnesota rainbow community expressing regret for ruining homobigot Sen. Amy Koch's (R) marriage.

As Leader of the Minnesota Senate she pushed and voted for the amendment that will be on the ballot in a few months to ban same gender marriage.  She has resigned her position and is not running in 2012 for reelection after being caught in an 'inappropriate relationship'

Take it away, Mr. Medeiros..

Dear Ms. Koch,
On behalf of all gays and lesbians living in Minnesota, I would like to wholeheartedly apologize for our community’s successful efforts to threaten your traditional marriage. We are ashamed of ourselves for causing you to have what the media refers to as an “illicit affair” with your staffer, and we also extend our deepest apologies to him and to his wife. These recent events have made it quite clear that our gay and lesbian tactics have gone too far, affecting even the most respectful of our society.

We apologize that our selfish requests to marry those we love has cheapened and degraded traditional marriage so much that we caused you to stray from your own holy union for something more cheap and tawdry. And we are doubly remorseful in knowing that many will see this as a form of sexual harassment of a subordinate.

It is now clear to us that if we were not so self-focused and myopic, we would have been able to see that the time you wasted diligently writing legislation that would forever seal the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman, could have been more usefully spent reshaping the legal definition of “adultery.”

Forgive us. As you know, we are not church-going people, so we are unable to fully appreciate that “gay marriage” is incompatible with Christian values, despite the fact that those values carry a biblical tradition of adultery such as yours. We applaud you for keeping that tradition going.
And finally, shame on us for thinking that marriage is a private affair, and that our marriage would have little impact on anyone’s family. We now see that marriage is more than that. It is an agreement with society. We should listen to the Minnesota Family Council when it tells us that marriage is about being public, which explains why marriages are public ceremonies. Never did we realize that it is exactly because of this societal agreement that the entire world is looking at you in shame and disappointment instead of minding its own business.
From the bottom of our hearts, we ask that you please accept our apology.

Thank you.
John Medeiros
Minneapolis, MN
.
Just one question.  Is the Minnesota Family Council going to push for the prosecution of Sen. Koch since adultery is punishable there by a year in jail or a $3000 fine?    After all, you say it is part of your 'Christian' duty to defend traditional marriage.   What say ye?

Umm hmm, that's what I thought

Minnesota Anti Gay Marriage Senator In Hypocritical Situation

As sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, you can count on a right wing homophobe to be caught in an embarrassing or hypocritical situation.

Former Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch (R), who pimped the anti-same gender marriage ban that will go up for a sure to be contentious vote in eleven months has a glass house of her own.

The state's first female Senate majority leader was caught in an 'inappropriate relationship' and resigned from her leadership position.

And oh yeah, Minnesota just happens to be one of the states in which adultery is punishable by a year in jail and a $3000 fine.

So, what say ye, Kat?  I know you have an opinion about this.

Hmm.  Wonder if the Minnesota culture warriors who pushed this hate on gay marriage amendment will now rush to 'defend marriage' and call for the prosecution of Senator Koch?

Somehow I doubt it..

Ms. W Gets Another Legal Setback In Her Trans Marriage Rights Fight

I have been keeping an eye on the Ms W case, in which a twentysomthing Hong Kong transwoman was battling for the right to marry her cis boyfriend

Ms.W has undergone SRS in a public hospital, possessed a new ID with her female gender indicated on it and school records had been reissued to record her as female.

However, the Hong Kong Government had refused to alter her birth certificate and the Registrar of Marriages also refused to allow her to marry her boyfriend.

Ms.W was rebuffed by the Hong Kong Court of First Instance and she and her attorney Michael Vidler appealed her case to the Hong Kong Court of Appeal.

It was recently heard on October 12-13 according to the Singapore based website Fridae.com in front of Honourable Justices of Appeal Robert V.P. Tang, Michael J. Hartmann and Joseph J.A. Fok.

The judgment was handed down on November 25, and it was another legal setback for Ms.W as her appeal was unanimously dismissed while using the odious Corbett vs Corbett case as the basis for doing so.

This puts Hong Kong in the position of being an island of trans legal intolerance when it comes to trans marriage issues while Asian-Pacific neighbors such as mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, New Zealand and Australia along with almost all the nations in the European Union with the exception of Malta recognize the right of transwomen to marry.

Ms.W is going to continue fighting for her right to marry her partner and has once again appealed her case to Hong Kong's highest court, the Court of Final Appeal.

Let's hope and pray for her sake and for those of us who fight for the human rights of transpeople Ms. W has much better luck at this level than she's had so far at the lover levels of the Hong Kong judicial system.

Nikki Araguz And Heather Delgado Battle in Houston Courtroom Tomorrow

TransGriot Note: Been quiet on the Nikki trans marriage case front lately but looks like another flurry of legal activity is about to get started.

Was e-mailed this press release moments ago.  Any questions you media peeps or others have about it, call Lauren Freeburn at 708-870-0146

Good luck, Nikki!.

Nikki Araguz and Heather Delgado face off again in a Houston courtroom in defense of Araguz's marriage to her late husband, fallen firefighter Thomas T. Araguz III.

A 1 PM CST hearing set for Thursday, November 10 in the Elias Ramirez Building, 5425 Polk St, Suite 130, Houston, Texas will determine Mrs. Araguz's status as a widow beneficiary for Workers' Compensation.
Attorney Peggy Campbell is representing Nikki Araguz before Presiding Hearing Officer Jacquelyn Coleman in this benefit contested case. A positive ruling in favor of Mrs. Araguz in this case could impact the previous negative ruling invalidating her marriage by Judge Randy Clapp (R), currently on appeal.

Nikki Araguz is a transsexual woman fighting for recognition of her marriage to a fallen firefighter, filed an appeal that seeks to overturn a judge’s ruling that the marriage is invalid.
Araguz was married to volunteer firefighter Capt. Thomas Araguz III from 2008 until his death while battling a blaze at an egg farm near Boling, Texas on July 3, 2010.
“At stake in this important case are the rights of transsexual people to be respected for who they are and to have their marriages recognized,” said Kent Rutter, the lead attorney for Araguz in the civil rights appeal. “We look forward to presenting our case to the court of appeals.”
“I am pursuing this case to defend my marriage,” said Araguz.

The tragedy of Thomas' heroic death has been amplified by allegations and lawsuits filed by his mother and ex-wife, resulting in national public interest and media attention. Certainly world-wide attention would have been averted without civil litigation - Nikki could have quietly mourned her husband's death. Instead, she continues to face legal and emotional battles that no surviving spouse should ever have to fight. After being forced into the spotlight, she is working on a documentary, a movie, reality television and an autobiography.

Delgado v. Araguz will be heard by the Thirteenth Court of Appeals in Corpus Christi with Mrs. Araguz and her attorney making a statement after Thursday's hearing.
