Dave Wilson Runs For HCC Board, But Can't Spell

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text
You longtime TransGriot readers have read my rants about Dave Wilson, who is a longtime transphobe and homophobe who has been responsible for helping spike two attempts at Houston passing inclusive nondiscrimination ordinances in 1985 and 2015.

Image result for HCC board
When he's not busy trying to get transphobic BS inserted into the Houston City Charter, Wilson has been keeping himself busy doing his hatemongering as a member of the Houston Community College board.

Saying in that misspelled flyer that he has 'uncompromising integrity' is a crock, being that he passed himself off as Black to narrowly win the HCC District II seat by 24 votes and knock off a 24 year African American incumbent board trustee in the process.

Image result for Rhonda Skillern Jones
He has been censured and reprimanded by his fellow board members for his antics.  When Rhonda Skillern Jones stepped up to challenge him for his HCC District II seat, he resigned, then filed to run in the HCC District I seat race against attorney Monica Flores Richart.

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, outdoor
Needless to say I want his azz (and so does everyone at HCC) gone, and it's a major reason why I not only endorsed Monica Flores Richart in this race, I hope she is successful in taking his reprehensible behind out.    I love watching trans oppressors like Wilson get beaten at the ballot box.

I also found it interesting that a candidate trying to get back on the board of a community college, pays so little attention to his campaign material that he let a spelling error slide by.

What is it about transphobes and their propensity for spelling errors? .

But here's hoping that we're calling Monica Flores Richart 'trustee-elect' at the end of the night

TransGriot Update:  Monica Flores Richart is in a runoff against that hatemonger

Never Demetria

Image result for demetria smith houston mayor
The late Maya Angelou once said that when somebody shows you who they are the first time, believe them.   One of the candidates in the 2019 Houston mayoral race has a long ugly history of showing us exactly who she is as an unrepentant transphobe and a homophobe.

That would be Demetria Smith.     And Moni has receipts.

Yep, the same Demetria Smith who has run for since 2013 a District D city council seat, Texas governor in 2018 and now twice for mayor in 2015 and this year.

The same Demetria Smith who is anti-HERO and still futilely trying to gaslight you into believing she isn't.

The same Demetria Smith that threw a hissy fit at a January 2018 Houston GLBT caucus meeting when her time ran out to speak at that meeting, then took to her social media in the wake of that public meltdown to falsely claim "the GLBT's are trying to silence me."

The same Demetria Smith that can't spell her own name right on her own campaign material.

She is the same Demetria Smith whose $3,750 filing fee check for the governor's race bounced, leading the Texas Secretary of State to declare her ineligible to run for the governor's office.

It's not like she would have gotten any support had she been able to stay on the ballot in that Blue tsunami wave election year.   She got less than 1% of the vote the last time she ran for mayor in 2015, and is well on her way thanks to her unrepentant homophobia and transphobia to failing spectacularly again.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.  Don't you still owe the state of Texas $22,000 in delinquent filing fees?

The last few days have found Smith on social media once again letting her anti-gay and anti-trans flags fly.  She has attacked At Large 5 city council candidate Ashton P. Woods, Kandice Webber, Eric Edward Schell, Nick Arvizu-Hutchinson  and an increasingly lengthy list of other peeps in the Houston TBLGQ community tired of her bull feces and calling her on it.

It's reading time    But let me hydrate first.

(Moni cracks knuckles)

I am personally tired of your ignorant mentally constipated transphobic behind pushing the bathroom predator myth as your weak as well water excuse to hate on HERO.   And yes Demetria, you ARE a transphobe and homophobe who is unfit to hold any public elective office in Houston, Harris County or the state of Texas.

You don't like people calling you out about being a homophobe and transphobe?   Then stop saying homophobic and transphobic crap.   It's that breathtakingly simple.

But tragically, you can't help yourself, and I'm not expecting that miracle to happen.

Image may contain: 1 person, text

News flash for you Miss Thang.   It ain't the trans folks you need to worry about.  It's Baptist preachers, deacons, Catholic priests, Republican politicians and creepy uncles.

It's also pissing me off you're flapping those loud and wrong gums about 'predators' when we have predators who have declared open season on Black trans women.   Where's your concern about that?
Don't their lives mater?

These are dangerous times in America, and we need intelligent leaders at all levels of government who stand up for everyone, not just heterosexuals.   If my rights as a trans Houstonian aren't secure, nobody's are.

HERO 2.0 without public accommodations language or coverage for trans people is a non starter.

Your beliefs as you call them are not grounded in anything but sheer ignorance, and as an award winning blogger and journalist, my job is to speak truth to power, call crap out and stamp out ignorance inside and outside my community.

You are batting .1000 when it comes to spreading that ignorance.

Image may contain: 1 person, text
And let me get something straight with your reprehensible behind..  Gaybaiting is not a good look on you sweetheart.  Neither is willful ignorance or transphobia, and it's time for a makeover and a trip to the library.

It's also quite obvious that you desperately need education about LGBTQ issues but are unwilling to learn.   You also keep doubling and tripling down on your homophobia and transphobia and posting it on social media for the world to peruse as if that is something to be proud of.

That's why you continue to fail whenever you run for office.   This 2019 election cycle will be another one in which you fail to learn from past mistakes, and you will get less than 1% of the vote in this upcoming election.

You have made it quite clear since 2013 that you are NOT that person we need at City Hall, and it's why I and an increasing majority of Houstonians are on Team #NeverDemetria

Tracy, Before You and The Evilgelicals Step To Me,...

No automatic alt text available.
Learn how to use a dictionary or spellcheck.

Seems Tracy Shannon, one of the alleged out of town residing Talabaptists, had a problem with me dropping truth bombs on them during the Drag Queen Story Time protest over the weekend, and wrote this screen shotted post on her page.

FYI boo boo kitty, my award winning 'hate filled blog' is spelled TransGriot.  Damn, you sound too much like a certain white gay male blogger I know and give zero phucks about.

I also find it interesting that you're so bored with your fabulous life in Corpus Christi (if that's really where you live instead of Tomball or some other nearby intolerant Houston area GOP voting 'burb with a hate congregation), that you would burn up your precious gasoline to come to the gayborhood and protest a literacy event for kids with badly misspelled signs.

You and your friends need Jesus and a dictionary.

Image may contain: 1 person, text
The truth always sounds like hate speech to a white supremacist Becky, especially a white supremacist faux KKKhristian trying and failing to hide behind the 'bybul' to justify their transphobia and homophobia.

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, tree and outdoor
Word to you Tracy and any of your like minded Pharisees and Sadducees.  If you don't want to be called a transphobic bigot, stop acting like a transphobic bigot.   That way we don't have to call you out on it.

My friends living in Montrose would also deeply appreciate it if you and your fellow faux faith based hatemongers not come to the library next month.  They're worried you thugs and bullies showing up in the gayborhood on a regular basis will drive down their property values.

Let me close this out with a Bible verse you probably skipped over in the rush to drive to Houston to hate on the TBLGQ community in the name of your Lord and Savior Donald Trump.

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
-Matthew 7:3

You are also exactly what I said about you and your friends when I had the megaphone in my hands on Saturday.  You are the false prophets the Bible warned us about.

Smooches..

MassResistance Sets Off Gaydars With Rainbow Flag Waving Interpretive Dance

We have always said in TBLGQ World that the people who gleefully work on oppressing our community are usually self hating cowards who protest too much.

We got another gaydar triggering confirmation of this when MassResistance, an anti-TBLGQ hate group based in Massachusetts. made the curious decision to kick off an anti-gay hate conference with a rainbow flag waving interpretive dance that set gaydars off across the country.

Thought you hatemongers were more into he-man masculine activities like American flag waving.or shooting AR-15's.

Well. see for yourself

Homophobic Presentation Happening In Philly Saturday

Image may contain: 1 person, text
This kind of crap is why Dan Savage's 'Blacks are more homophobic' lie is hard for us to kill.

This Saturday some clueless kneegrow is going to step into the Universal Audenried Charter High School venue in a city he can't spell and give a homophobic lecture that does nothing but spread unnecessary animus in our community.

And this why I have a major problem with many of the peeps in the Nation of Islam.  They are far too busy peddling anti-TBLGQ nonsense that does nothing to unify our community.

Too bad I won't be in the Philadelphia area to relentlessly mock and snatch wigs in that event., so I'm going to throw my shade from long distance.

If you wish to mock and protest the dissemination of anti-TBLGQ propaganda in person Philly TBLGQ fam, the school is located at 3301 Tasker St/, PHILADELPHIA, PA, 19145 .

Image may contain: 1 person, standingWho is this kneegrow 'Dr' Wesley Muhammad?  He's definitely trying to pump up the fact you can't watch this hot mess of a lecture on YouTube or Facebook.

And I presume he got his 'doctorate' from the same place Umar Johnson acquired his.

I wouldn't be surprised if our old friend James David Manning didn't ride the train down from NYC to join them  Does he still have his Harlem hate church?

And how exactly do you 'make a homosexual'?  Do you lock them up in a room and force them to sing show tunes for hours?  Watch RuPaul's Drag Race on an endless loop?  Do reverse  reparative therapy?

Tell me, because my inquiring mind wants to know.

Wesley, one thing I'm quite aware of in my 55 years and counting of life on Planet Earth and my 37 years observing and being around the TBLGQ community that homosexuals are born, not manufactured.

And since you were whining about 'feminization of the male baby', let me school your ignorant azz about basic biology.   All human life at conception is FEMALE.   A little less testosterone in vitro and you would have come out of mommy's womb in a female body answering to a feminine name

It has also been an observation of mine that those who doth protesteth too loudly and are virulently anti- gay, especially when they are standing in a pulpit or behind a lectern screeching their anti-TBLGQ hate speech are usually the ones involved in or desiring same gender loving relationships.

But as we know, homohaters gotta hate.

Blaina and Antoine, what's your review of this upcoming gaybaiting fest?

Image result for philadelphia love park
Here's hoping the Philadelphia TBLGQ community will give you the welcome you so richly deserve, especially since you mispelled the name of the city on your poster..

TransGriot Update:   In the wake of my post, I understand from my Philly fam that Muhammad's invite to speak has been rescinded.    He's taking his hate speech down I-95 to the Muhammad Mosque #35 in Wilmington, DE

Bigot Bob Marshall 'Scurred' To Debate Danica Roem In VA Legislative Race

screen_shot_20170105_at_6.05.58_pm
The Virginia state elections are happening on November 7, and if you live in the Commonwealth of Virginia and haven't handled your electoral business, bust a move and handle it before it's too late.

Been interesting to see 32 year old Danica Roem make her historic bid to become the first out trans person in the US to get elected to a state legislature and become the first to do so since Althea Garrison was elected to the Massachusetts state legislature in 1990.

Roem is taking on District 13 long time incumbent Del. Bob Marshall (R), who is a longtime enemy of the TBLGQ community and has justifiably earned the nickname he hates in 'Bigot Bob'.

Image result for bob marshall virginiaThe 73 year old Marshall is a prime example of what I'm talking about when I say that the most dangerous bigot is the one who has the power to write legislation.

He sponsored Virginia's anti-gay marriage ban that was approved by a majority of Virginia voters in 2006 and was in effect until it was struck down in federal court and has been a longtime champion of anti- TBLGQ causes.

In 2015 he tried to get a bill passed that would have legalized discrimination against Virginia's TBLGQ community in hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals, government agencies and businesses.

In this recent legislative session he sponsored Virginia's attempt to pass an anti-trans bill modeled on North Carolina's HB 2 that thankfully died.

Marshall, who have been in the Virginia House of Delegates since 1992 representing this northern Virginia district that covers Prince William and Manassas counties, has been a proud foe of our community.

Image result for Danica roem
So it's hypocritical that  Marshall is now crying crocodile white tears because he's being called 'Bigot Bob' while in the same breath, his transphobic behind is misgendering his Democratic opponent and refusing to debate her.

I guess when you've been so busy using your legislative power to oppress people, it doesn't leave you time to learn what the actual issues are that affect your district, huh?

Good luck trying to use her trans feminine status to 'scurr' people into voting for you.   She's already winning the fundraising battle by a 5-1 margin at the local, state and national levels because there are a lot of people, especially in the TBLGQ community that want you gone.

Image result for Danica roem
It would be exceedingly delicious to me as a trans woman to see on November 7 Bigot Bob get taken down by a trans woman.   Danica has definitely demonstrated in the primary campaign that she handily won over four opponents and in this general election campaign that she does have a keen grasp of those issues, and that's probably why he's avoiding her.

Bigot Bob can run, but he can't hide forever, and he will have to face Danica Roem sooner or later. He can either do it now, or when he's making his concession speech on November 7

Another group of people he'll have to face on November 7 is the voters of District 13, which went solidly for Clinton in last year's presidential election

Messages From Gender Infinity And Montrose Center Concerning The Phelps Phamily Protests

Image result for Houston skyline rainbow
The Phelps Phamily is allegedly coming to Houston to spread their special brand of hate on Friday.   There's a 50% chance they won't show up since they frequently flake out like that, but if they do, they plan on targeting the Montrose Center and the Gender Infinity Conference with pickets.

The targets of their alleged pickets in the Montrose Center and the Gender Infinity Conference have a message for you Houstonians and peeps in the metro area outraged that these faux faith based fools are desecrating our city limits.

First, the message from Gender Infinity:

logo.jpegGender Infinity is aware of a possible protest planned during our conference at the University of Houston on Friday, September 16th. Please respect our main focus to provide all conference attendees a wonderful experience. We have been working with community partners to make arrangements to ensure this goal.

UH has a free speech zone where only a small number of people are allowed to gather at a time. If counter-protesters exceed that number, you will all be asked to leave and the protesters will remain. This is not what we want.
With that in mind, we ask the following:
1. Do not show up at UH to counter-protest unless you have coordinated with our point of contact, Rev. Troy Treash, a dedicated supporter at revtroy@resurrectionmcc.org. He will coordinate this effort.
2. Our community partners who have experience with these particular protesters advise that the best way to respond is not to engage them verbally or physically. Do not give this group the media or social media attention they crave (e.g., do not share their website on social media).
3. Instead, please come together as a community in other ways at this time to support each other and display a united, organized, peaceful, and collected front.
4. Alternative ways to support Gender Infinity at this time include liking our facebook page, following us on Twitter, or making a financial donation to our organization or any other local LGBTQI+ organization.http://support.genderinfinity.org/
We hope the response of our community, in solidarity, will show the world our commitment to advance justice and inclusion with and for transgender, gender diverse, and gender expansive persons.
Thank you,
The Gender Infinity Team
Next, the message from the Montrose Center"

We are asking that people not come to the Center on the 16th between 10:30 am and noon unless you have business here. We do not want to give them any media attention or assist them in their mission to disrupt our services and guests.

We have consulted with other Centers who have been protested and have been advised the best way to frustrate them is to not engage them. We have it covered and ask that there be no counter protest. We have made arrangements to protect our clients, staff and visitors and their privacy. Thanks everyone for respecting our plan.

We'll see if the Phelps Phamily actually backs up their words, drives down from Kansas and shows up at either event this Friday,

H-Town peeps, I know you're pissed.  I definitely am seeing that I will be at Gender Infinity supporting our trans kids and their families.   But the best way to support both these orgs is respect their wishes.

It also doesn't hurt if you express your pissivity at the Phelpses by dropping both of the targeted organizations some donations.

Here's the link for the Montrose Center and the Gender Infinity Conference to do precisely that.

Bye, Sally Kern!

I don't like term limits for a lot of reasons for legislative and city council seats because I believe they punish good legislators who deserve longer terms in our legislative bodies.   I also dislike them because it was an idea pushed by conservatives who when they proposed them were having a hard time getting elected to those then Democratically controlled legislatures and city councils

I've seen term limits in Houston rob us of Annise Parker, who if she'd been able to run in 2015 probably could have gotten another term as Houston's mayor.

Oklahoma instituted term limits for their state legislators after passage of a ballot question in 1990 that took effect in 1992.  It slapped a 12 year combined limit on anyone elected to the Oklahoma House or Senate unless they were elected during a special election to fill a vacancy.

So why am I writing about Oklahoma term limits?.  Keep reading, because it will make your day.

The 101 member Oklahoma House has 19 members terming out in 2016.   One of the notable names terming out for those of us who are political junkies paying attention to who our enemies are,  is none other than Rep. Sally Kern (R-Oklahoma City) the racist, transphobic, homophobic, sexist, (fill in the blank) Bible-thumping Talabaptist enemy of TBLGQ  people in her home state and across the country.

Kern was elected six times to her seat, and was challenged by trans feminine civil rights attorney Brittany Novotny in 2010.  She repeatedly sponsored tried to pass anti-LGBT legislation in Oklahoma, but thanks to the hard work of activists there, she failed including this session.

But hallelujah, praise the Lord and pass the voter registration cards!. The OKC Queen of Mean is going to have to give up her House seat.   And for that I'm doing the happy dance.

So are the peeps in Oklahoma.

“I can tell you all LGBTQ Oklahomans look forward to Rep. Sally Kern’s last day in public office,” said Toby Jenkins, the executive director of Oklahomans For Equality in a Tulsa Word interview. “She has given 12 years of constant attack against gay, lesbian and transgender Oklahomans.

But before she split, she got uninterrupted time on the Oklahoma House floor to say goodbye, and Kern used that time according to The Advocate to launch one last anti-LGBT rant on her way out of the chamber

"In 2008, I did say the homosexual agenda is worse than terrorism," Kern told her legislative colleagues on Wednesday. "I didn't apologize in 2008, and I don't apologize today.".
And we in TBLG World aren't apologizing for being happy your Talabaptist behind is leaving office.

Bye, Sally.  Hope you stay retired from politics.  But I have the sinking feeling you're going to try to take this homophobic act national..

Yes Ben Hall, You ARE A Hater

I guess some people in the Ben Hall camp have been reading my blog, because the Ben Hall campaign just put out a weak as wellwater spin filled statement denying that he's hating on the Houston LGBT community.

Let's look at the empirical evidence, shall we Mr. Hall?

You don't support the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance because of two of the 15 categories it covers in sexual orientation and gender identity, and have doubled down on that position at community forums such as the Harris County Democratic Party's Brown bag luncheon.

You went on KUHF-FM's Houston Matters on October 28, 2013 and expressed your opposition to our community with a homophobic caller..  You refused to come to the Houston Stonewall Democrats or the Houston LGBT caucus endorsement meetings.

You signed the Dave Wilson inspired anti-trans petition designed to enshrine anti-trans bigotry into the Houston City Charter and gut the HERO.

And FYI, if your anti-HERO side were so keen on getting the HERO on the ballot and 'letting the people vote', why do we keep busting y'all forging signatures on petitions and trying to skirt Texas election law by any means necessary in doing so?

Besides, we already had a vote on the HERO, and it was in the 2013 mayoral election.  It was a campaign issue asked of all candidates, including you running in that cycle, and by the people we put in the mayor's chair and on council as a result of that election, the people of Houston signaled their desire to have a local human rights law to cover them.

As for your declaration in that statement from your campaign that you are a Christian, well dude, so am I along with many people in the Houston LGBT community.    But the God I serve and the values I have that are informed by my Kingian style faith compel me to fight for the human rights of all people.

That seems to be a lesson that you and your right wing Bible scripture twisting hypocritical friends somehow forgot in your quests for power..

Don't get mad at me, bloggers and activists inside and outside the bi, trans and SGL community, or anybody else for doing our jobs and calling your butt out.   It would  be civil rights malpractice if we didn't warn the people in our community and our allies about your problematic HERO stances and questionable comments about TBLG people.

If you keep lying down with the homophobic conservadogs, you keep getting bitten by their fleas, and we in LGBT Houston will justifiably call your behind out about it.

You seem to keep forgetting that SGL, trans and bi Houstonians also reside inside the 628 sq. miles of Texas turf we call home   And as you found out in 2013 when Mayor Parker thumped you by 30 points and will discover again in four months on November 3, we vote..

We also see the only people being 'divisive' in this cycle are you and your pastoral friends.

Representing ALL Houstonians, Mr. Hall, means representing the interests of TBLG Houstonians. While there may be some issues we agree on like mass transit and possibly others, the non-negotiable condition that our political support for your campaign will hinge on is whether you do or do not support the current LGBT inclusive HERO, and if elected, will you defend it?

Seems like the answer to both those questions is NO.   You have spectacularly failed to demonstrate ever since your 2013 campaign to our community that you are the person for that important human rights job while making some problematic statements along the way

By their fruits ye shall know them, and the fruits we have seen fall from your tree so far in this and the previous 2013 campaign have been homophobic and transphobic ones.

TransGriot Update:  Ben Hall is doubling down on the anti-LGBT hate in his play for the Houston bigot vote.  Had a press conference at 1:30 PM today (July 23) to once again call for enshrining anti-trans hate in the Houston city charter.

Really, fool?  When we are dealing with the Sandra Bland case just up the road in Waller County, you choice in your #BenHallForSome campaign is to gaybait and use the same debunked likes to demonize trans Houstonians for your political purposes?

SA Mayor Ivy Taylor Thinks LGBT Protections Are 'A Waste Of Time'

Taylor"Councilmember Taylor, you are a coward who gave in to fear and prejudice, and your NO vote is irrefutable evidence of that.  You let 'fear and smear' tactics deter you from being a drum majorette for justice. "
TransGriot, June 22, 2014

Remember when I was worried about Ivy Taylor getting a shot at the San Antonio mayor's chair in the wake of Mayor Julian Castro's appointment to become HUD Secretary?

After making a bunch of promises, including not running for the seat and not repealing the hard won  LGBT protective ordinance passed back in September 2013 of which she was  one of the NO votes, she was appointed by council over the objections of San Antonio's TBLG community and our allies to fill Mayor Castro's unexpired term.   In the process, she became the first African-American mayor of San Antonio.

It also turned out the reservations of the San Antonio LGBT community, their allies and yours truly had were justified.    She's reneged on the promise of running for the mayor's chair, and has caused a political firestorm in the Alamo City by saying at a April 20 candidate forum that the LGBT protections she voted NO against are 'a waste of time'

Taylor said at the Cornerstone Church forum she voted with her conscience , and  year and a half later, still stands by her loud and wrong decision.

Ivy R. Taylor and City Seal“I did not feel we should have even been debating that issue,” she said. “I thought it was a waste of time.

Seriously?  Did you even pay attention in history class?  Human rights legislation is never 'a waste of time', and any African-American politician stupid enough to say that doesn't deserve to be in elective office.

She has also repeatedly pissed off the San Antonio BTLG community by no-showing a March 22 Stonewall candidate forum,  called the San Antonio NDO 'a political stunt, frustrated her own LGBT Advisory Committee appointed in October by refusing to meet with them until recently, and found herself being booed at another forum after blaming advocates of the NDO for not leading efforts to propose enforcement mechanisms

The San Antonio mayoral election is on May 9,  and has LGBT community allies and former state Senator Leticia Van de Putte and former state rep Mike Villarreal in the race.

But in a city that is heavily Latino, with two popular Latino candidates in Van de Putte and Villarreal splitting votes, even though  Taylor has been pissing people off in the Alamo City, don't be surprised if she gets enough votes from Anglos and the 7% African-American population to get her to a runoff.

But if she doesn't make the mayoral runoff, she'll be gone from the mayor's chair and city council, and it can't happen fast enough for the San Antonio TBLG community and our allies.

Elisa Chan Resigns From San Antonio City Council

There's good news and bad news for our TBLG peeps on the western end of I-10.

The good news is that transphobic and homophobic councilmember Elisa Chan has resigned from the San Antonio City Council effective October 18.

“I have done my best to represent the conservative values of these fine people. The people of this district take an active role in deciding policy, giving their input, volunteering their time and listening to the views of their neighbors,” she wrote in her resignation letter to Mayor Julian Castro. .

She was one of the three NO votes against the San Antonio non discrimination ordinance that added gender identity and sexual orientation language on September 5 and incredibly voted against the veterans protections that passed on a 9-2 vote the same day.

In addition to he anti-gay comments, Chan also attacked former San Antonio city councilmember Leticia Ozuna and disparaged her marriage to a trans woman.

So now that I've given you the good news, hope you're sitting down for the bad news trans and SGL Texans.

The bad news is that Chan resigned in order to run for the Texas state senate   She announced she was challenging incumbent Teapublican freshman State Senator Donna Campbell for the District 25 seat   Texas law requires that she resign from her council seat in order to run for the state legislature with the filing period starting on November 9 and running through December.

Please tell me San Antonio BTLG family y'all have a strong Democratic candidate running for the District 25 senate seat in case Chan knocks off Campbell and gets through that GOP primary.

The last thing I want to see in the 2015 Texas Senate is Elisa Chan sitting in it.

Goodbye And Good Riddance Jennifer Carroll

The karmic wheel may have finally caught up with Florida Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll (R).

She made the problematic comment last year that women who look like her don't engage in 'relationships like that' during the height of a sex scandal in which she was accused of being involved  with a female staff member.

She was vehemently criticized for the lesbophobic comments and later apologized.

Now the word is out that she resigned Tuesday as Florida's Lt. Governor after being interviewed by Florida law enforcement officials as part of a widening gambling and racketeering scandal into Allied Veterans, a firm that she'd once done public relations work for and starred in a 2010 commercial for.

Several top officials of Allied Veterans have been arrested and charged with racketeering.

Sad that she's the one who made history as the first African-American to be elected statewide.

Stay tuned, this is probably going to get quite interesting.   But in the meantime, goodbye and good riddance Jennifer Carroll.   You  are another sterling example of why Black voters don't like conservatives and have the good sense NOT to vote for them.

David Bahati-The Man Who Introduced The 'Kill The Gays' Bill

The Ugandan 'Kill The Gays' bill has been getting renewed attention since the speaker of the Ugandan Parliament Rebecca Kadaga announced their intent to pass it before Christmas to the world's horror and the racist American fundies like Scott Lively's glee.

Since one of our Ugandan trans sisters wrote an open letter to her parliament urging the bill be defeated, thought I needed to shed some light on how this odious bill came to exist.

It came into existence due to the negative influence of American christobigots like Lively, they in 2009 injected virulent homophobia into Ugandan politics with two of its conduits being Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and MP David Bahati,  who introduced the draconian Anti-Homosexuality Bill with its death penalty provision in 2009.

Rachel Maddow got the chance to interview Bahati back in 2010, when the initial international condemnation about the 'Kill the Gays' bill later forced its withdrawal.

Bahati happens to be one of the key international members of Scott Lively's shadowy group The Family.

Activists from Sexual Minorities for Uganda struck back by suing Lively in a Massachusetts federal court.

The suit accuses Lively of violating international law by inciting the persecution of gay men and lesbians in Uganda and names four Ugandan co-conspirators: Stephen Langa and Martin Ssempa, evangelists active in the anti-gay movement; Bahati, and James Buturo, the former minister of ethics and a proponent of the legislation.

While that suit is winding its way through our federal court system, unfortunately the Ugandan.LGBT community still have to deal with the crap Lively and David Bahati set in motion in Kampala.

We must do everything we can along with the international community to help our Ugandan TBLG brothers and sisters kill this unjust bill.

Yo Chick-Fil-A, How's That Gaybaiting Working Out For You?

Today all the conservafools will be lining up to eat at their new favorite bigoted restaurant Chick Reicher-Fil-A.   After the Muppets kicked them to the curb over COO and President Dan Cathy's comments, Fox Noise's Mike Huckabee declared today Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day

Dan Cathy said that pro-LGBT culture suffers from a "deprived mind," that marriage equality is "twisted up," and that making marriage equality legal is "inviting God's judgement."

Yeah right.  That's why I'm making the judgment to stop buying Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and waffle fries and taking my fast food business elsewhere.

Mickey D's, Wendy's and Popeye's have chicken sandwiches too.

To counter the newly discovered conservafool love for Reicher-Fil-A a kiss in protest to support same gender marriage and rainbow community human rights is being called for to occur on Friday at Chick-Fil-A restaurants near you.

The Reichers and bigots have been slithering out of their holes to support their new favorite restaurant with the predictable bigotry eruptions and nekulturny commens passing by their lips in the Conservasphere..

Contrary to the lies you're being fed conservafools (pun intended), the anger at Dan Cathy and Reicher-Fil-A is not solely about his comments expressing himself about marriage equality.   It is about the chain's long time financial support toward organizations with an ongoing mission of suppressing and opposing the rainbow community's human rights push.

Chick-fil-A's anti-LGBT stance goes well beyond simply opposing marriage equality. They have given millions of dollars to anti-LGBT organizations, including those that have been designated "hate groups" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and those that push so-called "ex-gay" therapy, which has been denounced by the mainstream medical and mental health community.

They have supported organizations that are on record saying that being gay should be recriminalized in America. Chick-fil-A also bans gay couples from its "WinShape Retreats" aimed at growing leadership within the company.

That corporate funding of groups who oppress LGBT people is why people are majorly pissed about Cathy's comments and at the corporation.   That's a nice segue into something I was made aware of that is taking place today on the University of Louisville's campus.

A forum will happen at U of L's Red Barn discussing the future of the Chick-Fil-A on campus location from 12:00 noon- to 1 PM EDT  today with President Ramsey and the U of L Provost at the Office for LGBT Services.   The forum is open to students, faculty, alumni and local citizens.
For those of you in the Louisville area who wish to attend that meeting, the Office For LGBT service is located in Room 104 in the Red Barn (The Intersection) on the University of Louisville campus
News is also circulating that Chick-Fil-A's brand approval has been precipitously dropping and the organization has been furiously trying to spin the story of why they are getting hit with this massive dose of negative publicity and mayors such as Vincent Gray of Washington DC slamming them..

They tried to spin the Henson company pulling their toys from Chick-Fil-A kids meas as the 'toys were defective'.  A recent letter that appears to be from the various franchisee owners that seeks to paint the picture they don't share Cathy's agenda has been exposed as a form letter with local details cut and pasted into it.

And yeah, Sarah Palin has jumped into this media cacastorm.   While campaigning for Tea Klux Klan senate candidate Ted Cruz who '(ugh) won the Republican nomination for the US senate seat about to be vacated due to Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson's retirement (R-TX), she and Todd showed up at a Chick-Fil-A store in The Woodlands

So Chick-Fil-A, how that gaybaiting working out for you?

Muppets Kick Chick-Fil-A To The Curb

The repercussions of Chick-Fil-A coming out of the closet as a rainbow oppressor continue.

The Jim Henson Company that has the copyright for the popular Muppet characters, have provided Muppet toys that have been included in Chick-Fil-A children's meals.

It announced via its Facebook page that it is severing its relationship with Chick-Fil-A specifically because of Dan Cathy's comments in the Baptist Press interview.  The even more delicious (pun intended) part of this story is that the check that Chick-Fil-A sent to the Henson company was forwarded as a donation to GLAAD.

"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over 50 years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD."

Bigotry doesn't pay Chick-Fil-A.   But then again you'll learn that lesson soon enough.

Lt. Gov. Carroll: How Dare You Denigrate Me and My Beautiful Black Lesbian and Bi Sisters?

Florida's Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll is on the defensive (and has apparently lost her mind) after former staff member Carletha Cole claimed that she caught Carroll and her female travel aide in a compromising sexual position in Carroll's capitol office. In an absurd attempt to deflect questions about the alleged same-sex encounter, Carroll told a local news outlet that Black lesbian and bisexual women don’t look like her.

“My husband doesn’t want to hear that. He knows the type of woman I am for 29 years. I’m the one that’s married for 29 years. The accuser is the one that’s single for a long time,” Carroll continued on camera while chuckling. “Usually Black women that look like me don’t engage in relationships like that.”
What exactly do Black lesbians and bisexual women look like, Lt. Gov. Carroll, since you seem to know so well? And what “type of woman” have you been for the last 29 years that by default makes you not lesbian or bisexual?

Actually, don’t answer that. Because who knows what more ignorance and utter word vomit you can further spew. As a self-identified Black lesbian who embraces and celebrates her femininity, allow me to answer that for you.

At the core of Carroll’s problematic statement is the misconception that people “turn” gay because they are unattractive, cannot meet someone of the opposite sex and out of desperation “switch teams.” Being gay isn’t our “Plan B.” It is part of our identity that isn’t dependent on our physical features or “success rate” with men. Someone’s marriage to a man, good looks, or femininity isn’t evidence of anything related to their orientation.

There is nothing “wrong” or deviant about being a lesbian. In fact, the lesbians I’ve met personally, as friends, co-workers, lovers, partners and mentors, are some of the most radiant Black women – inside and out -- I’ve been blessed to know. They are mothers, sisters, daughters, community organizers, spiritual leaders, artists, wordsmiths, CEOs, doctors, and more. Their brilliance and beauty is undeniable. These women engage in some of the most loving and committed relationships I have witnessed.

What “type” of woman exactly are you, Lt. Gov. Carroll? You seem so keen on differentiating yourself from me and my Black lesbian and bi sisters. And what makes your relationship with your husband so different from the thousands of Black women raising children together? Inquiring minds would like to know.

The fact that Lt. Gov. Carroll went out of her way to specify that Black lesbians and bisexual women don’t “look like her” implies that non-Black lesbians and bi women are entitled to more a fluid gender expression. This is yet another problematic notion of female sexuality so many Black women, and women in general, have internalized from the patriarchal policing of Black female sexuality.

To add insult to injury, then there’s Lt. Gov. Carroll’s jab at single Black women. As if those single for extended periods of time have somehow gotten the short end of the stick, or, gasp, are gay. Heaven forbid there are Black women who are single by choice or who are happily single for long lengths of time.
For the record, this is what a Black lesbian looks like. They look like me. They look like comedian Wanda Sykes, actress Jasika Nicole, model Az Marie, singer Tracy Chapman, activist Angela Davis, poet Staceyann Chin and others. Many, Lt. Gov. Carroll, look just like you.

You can defend your marriage without dissing Black lesbian and single women. You can protect your reputation without revoking Black lesbian femininity.

That is why I am standing with the National Black Justice Coalition, the nation’s leading Black LGBT civil rights organization, and with Black lesbians, bisexual women and our allies everywhere, demanding that Lt. Gov. Carroll retract her statement immediately.

Tweet your photo to @NBJContheMove to show Lt. Gov. Carroll and others what Black lesbians look like. Use the hashtag #whatablacklesbianlookslike.

NC 'Pastor' Calls For Final Solution To The LGBT Problem

If you thought I was kidding when I said this is the most pivotal election in American history and you people who call yourselves liberal-progressives need to be running to the polls to vote a straight Democratic ticket, peep the following video.

The Conservafundies in North Carolina are basking in the glow of victory after the unjust Amendment One's passage, and they are letting the homophobic and transphobic faith-based hate flow

Pastor Charles Worley of Maiden, NC was channeling his inner Nazi last Sunday and has some ideas about what to do with all those pesky GLBT people demanding human rights coverage in 'their' America.

I guess for his next sermon he'll have David Bahati flown in from Uganda to pimp their idea for a 'Kill The Gays' bill.

Okay, you just called for genocide.  Maybe that's okay by conservagod, but not the Lord and Savior and the God I worship.as a Christian.

Take it away Martin Bashir and Anthea Butler.
