Jeanne Ives Peddles Transphobia In Illinois Gubernatorial Campaign Ad

Image result
Illinois state legislator Jeanne Ives  (R)  is a longtime foe of the Illinois TBLGQ community who is primary challenging Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R).

A lot of people in the Land of Lincoln are unhappy with her after she unleashed an attack ad aimed at Rauner that ended up offending many people in Illinois, and members of her own party.

The misleading ad featured not only a bearded man in drag, but attacked the Women's March, the Chicago Teachers Union and Latinx immigrants
Image result for Jeanne Ives transphobic ad

She tred to play of the ad as 'edgy' and 'informative'/  Yeah, that what you conservaBeckys always pivot to when you get caught peddling racist, transphobic and homophobic crap.

Image result for Jeanne Ives transphobic adIllinois Republican Party chair Tim Schneider stated that Ives should pull the ad and immediately apologize to the Illinoisans who were negatively portrayed in a cowardly attempt to stoke division."

"There is no place in the Illinois Republican Party for rhetoric that attacks our fellow Illinoisans based on their race, gender or humanity,"Schneider said.

Gov Rauner's campaign quickly called out the ad, stating "This TV ad has no place in Illinois.  It just shows how unelectable Representative Ives really is."

But in the wake of that ad, Ives campaign has received $2.5 million in donations from a conservative mehgadonor who funded Roy moore's failed campaign.   It has also raised her profile amongst those Illinois conservatives wishing to send Gov Rauner packing.

So stay tuned to see if this transphobe who also hated on gay marriage back in 2013 gets out of the Republican gubernatorial primary

TX Anti-Trans Hate Bills 46 and 50 Filed

Trans Texans and our allies now know what unjust bill numbers we have to fight when the Texas GOP Special Oppression Session cranks up July 18.

Rep. Ron Simmons (R-Carrollton) filed  on yesterday two unjust trans oppressive bills aimed at Texas trans children and Texas trans adults, HB 46 and HB 50

Image result for Rep Ron Simmons
HB 46 is aimed at Texas trans adults, and would prohibit all political subdivisions, including municipalities, school districts, state colleges and universities from adopting and enforcing any ordinances or policies that protect transgender people in bathrooms or changing facilities.

HB 50 is aimed at Texas trans kids.  It is similar to the odious HB 46, but focuses on school districts by prohibiting them from adopting and enforcing policies that protect transgender students  in batrooms or changing facilities.

Simmons was the author of the failed HB 2899 that Gov Greg Abbott (R) liked but died in the House State Affairs committee during the regular session.

Hundreds of trans Texans (including this blogger) and our allies showed up in Austin to express our disgust and outrage over this attempt to criminalize the lives of transgender Texans.

Guess Ron and the Texas Republican Party didn't learn their lesson from the recently concluded regular session that the vast majority of Texans oppose their unjust right wing crap.

Image result for sen bob hall tx
We'll also be watching SB 23, a bill proposed and filed yesterday by Sen. Bob Hall (R-Edgewood) that would prohibit cities, counties and other political subdivisions from passing non discriminations laws  on a basis not written in state law, and wipe out the already existing non discrimination laws in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Plano and San Antonio.

What is it about you conservafools and your obsession with oppressing people you don't like?

Looks like we'll be busy fighting oppression for the 30 days of this upcoming Special Oppression session, so you know what to do.

Light those phones up in their offices and don't relent until all those unjust bills are dead.

2017 Texas Lege Liberal To Conservative Analysis

Since we're less than 30 days from the start of our Texas Lege Special Oppression Session, time to start doing our homework and preparation for when we finally get to the Pink Dome and see the folks who are really on our side and who are a waste of our valuable time to talk to.

The Texas Tribune recently compiled a left to right political analysis of the Texas House and Texas Senate to find who are our most liberal and conservative legislators in both parties.

It's an analysis that will come in quite handy if you're planning to lobby under the Pink Dome this summer during the upcoming Special Oppression Session that starts July18.

It'll help you peeps who haven't been paying close attention to who these peeps are or where their politics fall.   It also give some of you planning to run for the state House or Senate the ammo you need or confirmation enough of their political orientation to run against some of those Texas legislative and senate peeps in 2018.

So let's start with the Texas Senate.

Image result for texas senate
In our 31 member senate that has a 20-11 GOP majority, the most liberal member was state Sen. Sylvia Garcia (D-Houston), and the most conservafool, oops conservative was Sen. Van Taylor (R-Plano)

The most conservative Democratic senator was drum roll please, Sen Eddie Lucio, Jr (DINO-Brownsville)  and the least conservative Republican one was Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo)

Moving on to the Texas House

In our 150 member Texas House that has a 94-56 GOP Majority, Rep. Lina Ortega (D-El Paso is the most liberal House member, and the most conservative House member is a tie between Briscoe Cain (R-Deer Park), Jonathan Stickland (R-Bedford) and not surprising (Matt Rinaldi (R-Irving)

Image result for texas house of representatives
All three are members of the twelve member Texas Oppression Freedom Caucus that caused so much trouble in the latter days of the 2017 regular session.

The most conservative Democratic House legislators was a tie between Rep Joe Pickett (D-El Paso) and Ryan Guillen (D-Rio Grande City) and the least conservative state rep was Rep. Sarah Davis (R-Houston)

Davis still pissed off a lot of people in her liberal leaning district with that affirmative SB 4  vote

And it also illustrates why the Republican caucus had some entertaining and contentious intra-party squabbles during that last session, because in effect, they are basically split into two groups, the Centrist Conservatives and the Tea Klux Klan-Movement Conservatives.

So hope this post was helpful in getting you to understand where the legislative and senate players stand ideologically in advance of July 18.

Karma Kicks Milo In The Rear

It took a while, but it looks like karma has finally put on her stiletto heels and kicked Milo Yiannopoulos in his posterior.

After his jacked up appearance on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher in which Milo said some loud and wrong crap about trans people that got him called out by Larry Wilmore and a lengthening list of publications, a just revealed videotaped interview in which Milo co-signed peophilia and laughing off the seriousness of it happening by Roman Catholic priests has finally gotten people off the fence about how problematic the Breitbart editor is.

Image result for milo yiannopoulos
Milo had his invite to keynote the upcoming CPAC conference this weekend canceled, and his 'Dangerous' book deal with Simon and Schuster in which he was given a $250,000 advance was just rescinded   There are also calls for Breitbart to sever ties with him.

We'll see if that happens.

Hopefully the same thing is going to happen with his remaining collegiate speaking engagements schedule in which he has been paid big bucks for desecrating college campuses with anti- trans hate speech that led to a protest and cancellation of a speech at Cal-Berkeley  .

And yeah as a trans feminine person, I'm reveling in this schadenfreude laden situation.  But it also points out something that I've observed about conservatism and useful fools like Milo.

Conservatism is for straight white males only and is the political arm of white supremacy. If you don't fit that demographic profile or are from demographic groups they hate, you are a disposable token used to advance their overall movement and propaganda messaging goals. Once you as that token conservative darling are no longer useful to them, you will be discarded. Ask Stacey Dash and Pastor Mark Burns about that if you think I'm kidding about what I just said. . Too bad Milo is just the latest conservative useful fool to learn that lesson the hard way.

Larry Wilmore Puts Milo On Blast

I don't have HBO on my cable package, and this is one night I wish I did.

This week's episode of Bill Maher's HBO Real Time had Maher inviting that transphobic idiot Milo Yiannopoulos on as a guest.   It caused one of his regular panelists to remove himself from appearing on the show.  He did his usual transphobic shtick, that Maher pretty much ignored and let him rant unchallenged.

But when the Overtime segment of the show happens, Larry Wilmore, the former host of the Daily Show wasn't having it, especially after going on a five minute facts free anti-trans rant and calling a decorated intelligence office 'stupid'

Image result for Milo on Bill Maher
Wilmore at that point had enough of Milo's bull feces and put him on blast.

It's ironic that we have this example of a cisgender heteronormative Black man calling out a white gay man who is demonizing the humanity and human rights of transgender people.

Milo is an glaring example of why there are ongoing tensions between elements of the white gay male community and the transfeminine community while the fauxgressive (Maher) sits there in mute silence.

Fro those of you who missed it, here's the video in which Wilmore put Milo's transphobic and racist behind on blast, told him to go pleasure himself, and points out to the British conservafool his hypocrisy of using the same arguments people used to demonize gay people back in the day to do the same to transgender people..

Enjoy!

Gov Abbott Whines About NFL Warning About SB6

Image result for greg abbott
So far during this rollout of the Texas Transgender Oppression Bill, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has been content to let Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) and Sen. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) get their hands and reps dirty in pushing oppression of Texas trans people via SB 6.

On Tuesday the governor finally opened his mouth when the NFL warned that if SB 6 passed, there will be no more Super Bowls for Houston and Dallas.

Image result for nfl spokesman brian mccarthy
"We want all fans to feel welcomed at our events and NFL policies prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other improper standard," said NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy in a prepared statement.

"If a proposal that is discriminatory or inconsistent with our values were to become law there, that would certainly be a factor considered when thinking about awarding future events."

What future NFL events you ask?   In addition to the big prize of Super Bowls, there's also hosting the NFL Draft, NFL owners meetings and the Pro Bowl.

Abbott  issued this response to the NFL:
"'For some low-level NFL adviser to come out and say they are going to micromanage and try to dictate to the state of Texas what types of policies we're going to pass in our state, that's unacceptable.
'We don't care what the NFL thinks and certainly what their political policies are because they are not a political arm of the state of Texas or the United States of America.  They need to learn their place in the United States, which is to govern football, not politics."

Image result for at&t stadiumYou'd better care what the NFL thinks, Gov. Abbott.  The NFL isn't playing on this and they have the power to determine whether Houston or Dallas gets their multimillion dollar generating championship event ever again.

You and your Texas Republican buddies should stick to governing the state and not using your power to legislatively bully other Texans who aren't white hetero male conservatives.

If you think the NFL is selling woof tickets on this, ask the state of Arizona, who lost Super Bowl XXVII in 1990 to Los Angeles because of their failure to enact a MLK holiday, and nearly lost Super Bowl XLIX  in 2014 over a 'license to discriminate' bill before then Gov. Jan Brewer (R) vetoed it.

The state of Georgia was warned that if they went ahead with passing a discriminatory 'religious freedom' law, they could kiss their chances of getting Super Bowls in Mercedes-Benz Stadium goodbye.
Image result for mercedes benz stadium atlanta
Gov. Nathan  Deal (R) vetoed that unjust legislation, and Atlanta was subsequently rewarded by the NFL with Super Bowl LIII in 2019.  Super Bowls are also scheduled for Minneapolis, Miami and Los Angeles

Note to Greg Abbott, all those future Super Bowl host cities have non discrimination ordinances in place that prohibit anti-trans discrimination.

Gov. Deal when push came to shove wasn't going to be delusional enough to let political ideology cost his state the millions a Super Bowl brings to the state financial coffers  But I am worried about Gov. Abbott and my Texas GOP know nothings in Austin doing the stupid right wing thing with the unjust SB 6 just to curry favor with your Texas Teabagging voters.

Image result for nrg stadium
The Super Bowls have been awarded by the NFL through 2021, so the next opportunity Houston or Dallas would be able to host one wouldn't be until then.

But our chances of Dallas or Houston hosting them or San Antonio getting an NFL franchise die if SB 6 is passed.

I'm appalled that you're willing Gov. Abbott to cost the Lone Star State millions and pass a potentially unconstitutional law just to prove to your base how far you and your party are willing to go to dehumanize Texas trans people.

Conservafools, Why You Mad Black Patriot Players Won't See Your POTUS?

Here
Been chuckling ever since the New England Patriots Super Bowl LI overtime win that disgusted me about the increasing number of  Patriot players who have decided or made it clear they would not be heading to the White House when the team goes for the traditional championship visit.

So far as of this writing, players Martellus Bennett, LaGarrette Blount, Devin McCourty, Dont'a Hightower, Alan Branch and Chris Long have announced they will skip the White House visit.

That is pissing off conservafools who seem to have forgotten when Tom Brady did the same thing in 2015 to President Obama and was a coward about it, and left racist comments on Breitbart about it..

They ain't liking it now that it's happening to their almighty white so called president, and have taken to Twitter to post racist commentary at the three so far Black players who have made their political intentions clear..

Image result for Devin McCourty
“I’m not going to the White House,” said Devin McCourty to Time in a text message. “Basic reason for me is I don’t feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won’t.”

Bravo gentlemen for speaking out and standing on your principles, unlike your quarterback.

So y'all mad that Black Patriot players ain't feeling your POTUS?   Well, they're just part of the 65 million people who aren't since Trump made it clear during the campaign he hated Black and other non white people.

And please don't even try to hold up Omarosa and those other kneegrow sellout at that jacked up Black History Month event as evidence that he doesn't.

Is This What Propaganda Barbie Meant By 'Bowling Green Massacre'?

Image may contain: car
I'm curious about the latest misstatement lie that Propaganda Barbie, AKA Kellyanne Conway told as she desperately tried to defense the indefensible Muslim ban to her conservasheeple while being interviewed by Chris matthews on the increasingly melanin free MSNBC.

She tried to claim that a terror attack happened in Bowling Green, and it is being met with derisive laughter, a viral Twitter hashtag and sarcastic posts like this one.

Maybe she go it confused and is talking about the sinkhole that developed under the National Corvette Museum floor in Bowling Green. KY in February 2014 that destroyed or damaged eight classic Corvettes.

But then again Propaganda barbie will do anything and say any lie to defend a misadministration that is reviled by a majority of the US population.

I Don't Need Your Permission To Have My Humanity Respected

askmefirst
In the latest example of white faux christian conservafool arrogance, a new anti-trans campaign with two white women as spokesmodels is trying to push the message that we trans people need to 'ask them first' before we push policies are are necessary because of their intolerance.

That's mighty white of them to demand that we 'ask them first' for policies that tell them they aren't allowed to disrespect and dehumanize us.

Image result for Trans people matter memeNot no, but hell no to this bull feces .  Trans people are not some late 20th century concept.  #WeExist, and we're tired of your attacks on our humanity that is not up for debate by you, right wing politicians or your loud and wrong pastors.

I didn't need your permission in 1994 when I transitioned and I damned sure don't need it now. Neither am I or anyone else in Trans World is going to beg you to deal with the reality that I and other trans people exist.

As me if I care if you trans oppressors like that or not.  Nor do I care for your extremely flawed interpretation of Scripture that you and other right wing organizations are using to try to mask the stench of your anti-trans hatred and bigotry.

Image result for Trans people matter meme

Trans people are part of the diverse mosaic of human life, and we are perfectly made by and loved by God.  Contemplate that as you read Isaiah 56: 3-6, Matthew 19:12,  Galatians 3:28 at your next Bible study at your right wing hate megachurch.

We are exactly who we say we are.   Why does that scare you so much?

Get it through your skulls that I don't need your permission to have my humanity respected and my constitutional rights as a American citizen protected.

Rep. Steve King Shows His White Supremacist Side

While Melania Trump is justifiably being dragged by Twitter for plagiarizing First Lady Michelle Obama's 2008 speech, need to direct your attention to much more egregious commentary made earlier in the day by a longtime TransGriot SUF Awards contender in Rep. Steve King (R-IA)

I can't stand King because of his long history racist remarks, but yesterday he went too far during an MSNBC interview in which he must have been reading Mein Kampf before he went on air

King said that non-whites 'subgroups' haven't contributed to Western civilization in comments made in response to writer Charles Pierce's comments about 'old white guys' running the Republican Party. .
Well Steve, here's a short list for the stuff just African Americans have contributed to society like blood banks, open heart surgery, traffic signals, gas masks, potato chips, refrigerated trucks and railway cars, the world's fastest computer, automated steam engine lubricator and the Super Soaker water gun..

Benjamin Banneker not only built the first clock in the Americas, he published an almanac for over a decade and helped do the surveys that laid out Washington D.C.

So naw fool, your ignorant racist behind doesn't even need to try to go there

The TX Values Transphobes Are Planning To Swarm The FWISD Board Meeting Today

Fort-Worth-ISD (620-240)
Pissed off because the Fort Worth Independent School District decided to clarify its policies impacting trans students,  the transphobic ignorati stirred up by my transphobic Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and Texas Haters Values are planning to swarm tonight's FWISD board meeting that starts at 5:30 PM to vent their spleens at Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner and the FWISD school board for their policy they quietly approved and announced at their April 19 board meeting...

Their plans are to pack the room with haters and send hate mail to the FWISD board, so let's have some fun spoiling those plans.

Our transphobic Lt. Governor will also be in the FWISD house to demand the resignation of Superintendent Scribner and the repeal of the policy.

According to my sources in the DFW area, both those events Patrick is demanding have as much chance of happening as the Cowboys moving to San Antonio to play their games at the Alamodome this season.

Local folks in Fort Worth and the DFW Metroplex who support the new policy and our trans kids are asked to show up wearing RED before the 5:30 PM meeting start time.    If you want a seat in the chamber, I suggest you get there an hour before that, especially if you want to deny seats to the haters who will probably be busing in from exurban hate megachurches or driving in from the surrounding teabagging exurbs.

If you can't make it to FWISD headquarters to show your support for the school board, you can e-mail the members . The haters are calling for people across Texas and the USA to do so, so they have opened the door for us fair minded citizens and the national and international trans community to reciprocate.

I think the FWISD board would appreciate getting some friendly supportive calls and e-mails, so if you have time, please send these FWISD board members thank you e-mails for standing up for the rights and humanity of ALL their students because we know the faux faith based opposition is sending them facts free hate mail as you read this.

Here are some facts debunking the bathroom lies to help you as you compose those supportive e-mails.

. FWISD Board President  Jacinto “Cinto” Ramos, Jr – jacinto.ramos@fwisd.org
  1. Tobi Jackson – tobi.jackson@fwisd.org
    Christene Chadwick Moss – christene.moss@fwisd.org
Theophlous Aron Sims, Sr. – ta.sims@fwisd.org
    Judy Needham – judy.needham@fwisd.org
    Ann Sutherland – ann.sutherland@fwisd.org
    Norman Robbins – norman.robbins@fwisd.org
    Matthew Avila – matthew.avila@fwisd.org
    Ashley Paz – ashley.paz@fwisd.org
Picture representing Board of Education
The FWISD administration building is located at 2903 Shotts Street in Fort Worth.  The meeting will be livestreamed, and if you live in the DFW area you can see it live on Charter cable channel 192 and , AT&T U-Verse channel 99

If you wish to speak before the board or find out what their policies are to do so, I would suggest calling the Office of the Board of Education at 817-814-1920.
.
Here's hoping that Dan Patrick and Texas Values don't get what they want in the optics of a parade of haters on the local news ignorantly blasting the school board and Superintendent Scribner for the trans inclusive policy.

I also don't want our trans kids who are attending FWISD schools seeing that soul crushing spectacle of one person after another denigrating their humanity.

The Conservafools Are Losing World War T

Ever since they lost the Obergefell SCOTUS case last year, the conservative movement has decided to take out their anger about losing that marriage case on the transgender community.  Right wing hate radio, the Southern Baptists and Republican Party have declared war on our community along with their longtime professional gay-baiting hate orgs like the Family Research Council, retooling their rhetoric to attack us as our longtime TERF enemies gleefully egged them on.

Even FOX Noise joined World War T, deploying longtime trans haters Keith Ablow and Paul McHugh to join their pundits in unleashing on-air facts free attacks denigrating the trans community.  The anti-trans haters successfully tested to my disgust their anti-trans talking points in their successful campaign to repeal the trans inclusive Houston Equal Rights Ordinance.

But despite their early successes, the bottom line is that the conservafools are losing World War T as they call it.  You might say the preponderance of evidence indicates the conservative movement was already losing to the trans community even before they fired the first ramped up shots of anti-trans hatred in this trans culture war..

Trans folks were already getting unprecedented media attention thanks to Janet Mock and her New York Times best selling memoir, Laverne Cox, Geena Rocero's well received coming out TED Talk and later Caitlyn Jenner.

We were already an increasing presence on reality shows, with movies like The Danish Girl and television shows like Orange Is The New Black, Transparent and groundbreaking trans characters like Maya Avant on the CBS soap The Bold And The Beautiful.

We were already winning in the courts and with federal regulatory agencies on various trans human rights issues thanks to Vandy Beth Glenn, Nikki Araguz Loyd, Mia Macy and most recently, Gavin Grimm's 4th Circuit court win that may be the death blow to Hate Bill 2.   Trans human rights protections are included in laws in 16 states, the District of Columbia and over 200 jurisdictions, with more jurisdictions considering doing so for their areas every day.

Colleges and universities are starting to create trans inclusive policies, although we still have much work to do in academia and the school settings to make them less hostile for trans students. . .

Those trans human rights court wins even continued on an international level with Ms W in Hong Kong and Joanne Cassar in Malta   Several nations allow trans people to change their identification documents without the prerequisite of requiring expensive genital surgery.

And thanks to trans youth around the country like Jazz Jennings and her award winning reality show I Am Jazz, our trans kids in many cases have been the front line advocates that have helped kill anti-trans legislation while emphatically pointing out in various ways that trans folks are part of our diverse mosaic of human life.

Even the preponderance of medical science is increasingly lining up with what we have asserted for decades and the medical care protocols for trans people and manuals like the DSM-V and ICD-11 are changing in response to the updated medical research about us..

North Carolina's Hate Bill 2 has resulted in an international backlash aimed at the Tarheel State. GOP controlled state legislatures in Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee and South Carolina that have pushed anti- trans laws have found out they have gotten ferocious opposition to them, and anti-trans measures passed in South Dakota and Georgia were vetoed by their Republican governors. .

And in a broken clock FOX Noise moment, FOX's Megyn Kelly jacked up North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) over the transphobic HB 2.

And yesterday transphobic Ted Cruz ended his campaign after trying to deploy anti-trans hatred as a wedge issue in his campaign against Donald Trump and got his butt kicked in Indiana last night.

The coordinated attacks upon our community are not only forcing us to close ranks and work together to repel them, it's also resulting in us in Trans World stepping up our activism game.

In addition to building coalitions with cis people and groups to help fight the anti-trans attacks, other trans folks like Danni Askini and Kristin Beck have stepped up to run for office.   It's past time we were in these legislatures helping to write the legislation that governs us, not be on the legislative menu.

It's also past time that funders give our trans led organizations what we have needed for decades, the money and grants to build permanent trans human rights infrastructure and services.

While World War T is one that has been raging that we trans peeps didn't ask for, we had no choice but to fight it tooth and nail to a successful conclusion for trans kind.

So far we are doing that.  We are building community and the intersectional connections necessary to fight off the right wing attacks on us.

We will have wins like Rockwall, and some losses like North Carolina.  The trans suicide rate is unacceptably high, and it is ridiculous that people who kill us get a legal slap on the wrist fro doing so.

The overall trajectory is positive for us and trans human rights in general.. We still have much work to do in Trans World in order to vanquish the Conservative Forces of Anti-Trans Intolerance and win World War T.

Naw Caitlyn, You Can't Win Republicans Over On LGBT Issues

AP PHOTO
I had to laugh and shake my head when Caitlyn Jenner was quoted as saying that we can win Republicans over on LGBT rights issues in a recent Advocate article.

As someone who watched the Harris County and Texas Republican parties, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lt Governor Dan Patrick (R) stick their noses in Houston human rights business and fund the oppressors deceit filled kill the HERO campaign, had she talked to me and other Houston advocates when she stealthily bounced into my hometown, I would have schooled her clueless behind on the folly of that position.

The Republican Party of 2016 in Texas and around the country is one made up of people who are hellbent on gleefully rolling back the human rights of anyone that isn't a white male right-wing 'christian'.   They have a special brand of hatred for human rights for trans, bisexual and SGL people, and are still working to terminate any progress on LGBT rights issues.

If you think I'm kidding about that, look no further than the unjust anti-trans bills popping up in Indiana , Virginia,  Washington and other GOP controlled state legislatures sponsored by proud Republican legislators or what happened here with HERO last year.

And hello, the GOP controlled NY Senate has been the major reason that GENDA's passage has been stalled in New York state despite their Democratic controlled assembly passing it eight straight times by comfortable margins.

The current Republican Party is not the one Eisenhower or Nixon led, much less even the one of Ronald Reagan.  And if Caitlyn's behind had more melanin in her skin, she wouldn't even begin to part her lips to say something that obtuse.

But if Jenner wants to take on that quixotic mission of trying to convince a party that is foaming at the mouth anti-LGBT for decades to change their BTLG hating ways, have fun wasting your time and breath trying to do so.

Meanwhile, I'll be chilling in Houston trying to resist the urge to say 'I told you so' as I and others do the work necessary to get the conversations going to solidify support behind the no-brainer idea of trans, bi and SGL rights being an international human rights issue.

Just Say Yo To Girl Scout Cookies!

One of the things that has really pissed me off about the Forces of Right Wing Intolerance  is their ongoing attacks on Girl Scouts because they are TBLG inclusive.

As you know, the conservafools never let facts get in the way of their outrage machine.  The conservahaters have been recently pimping the lie that GSUSA has been partnering with Planned Parenthood to promote abortions and urging their sheeple to boycott Girl Scout cookies when they go on sale.

Funny to note that Girl Scout Cookie sales have been increasing ever since the conservafool movement started this War on the Girl Scouts several years ago.

Good, y'all continue to be that petty and stupid and point that you only care about a fetus, the 1% super billionaires and not living breathing working class humans.  Leaves more cookies for me and the peeps who support GSUSA.

Trans community, time for us to support an organization that supports us.   Consider buying a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year as a delicious way to send a message against ignorance, misogyny, sexism. oppression and intolerance.

Thin mints, anyone?

1965 Baldwin vs. Buckley Debate

"It is a terrible thing for an entire people to surrender to the notion that one-ninth of its population is beneath them.  Until the moment comes when we, the Americans, are able to accept the fact that my ancestors are both black and white, that on that continent we are trying to forge a new identity, that we need each other, that I am not a ward of America, I am not an object of missionary charity, I am one of the people who built this country-- until this moment comes there is scarcely any hope for the American dream.  If the people are denied participation in it, by their very presence they will wreck it.  And if that happens it is a very grave moment for the West."
-James Baldwin, 1965 Cambridge University debate

50 years ago writer James Baldwin  accepted an invitation from Cambridge University's Cambridge Union Society to debate William F. Buckley, Jr., the father of modern conservatism and the young founder of the conservative leaning National Review magazine.

The debate topic was 'Has the American Dream Been Achieved At The Expense Of The American Negro?'

Baldwin in addition to being a prominent writer, was one of the intellectual voices of the Civil Rights Movement.  Buckley was had voiced his opposition to desegregation in the pages of the National Review in 1961 but was a few years from his status as 'The Father of Modern Conservatism'.

Both got their opportunity to argue their points, and when it was over the Cambridge Union Society members voted on the proposition.   Baldwin trounced Buckley 540-160.

Enjoy this debate, because sadly, many of the points Baldwin makes are still valid in 2015 and explain much of the racial animus we are currently dealing with.

Ashton's Open Letter To Governor Abbott

I'll have some not so nice comments about it later, but here is what Ashton had to say on his blog about our Sodomite governor.

You have every right as an American citizen to urge the President "to halt" his "plans to allow Syrians to be resettled anywhere in the United States."What you do not have a right to do, is directly refuse Refugees because of your unfounded fear that "American humanitarian compassion could be exploited to expose Americans to similar deadly danger."
Let me remind you that a refugee is a person who is outside their home country because they have suffered (or feared) persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, or political opinion; because they are a member of a persecuted social category of persons; or because they are fleeing a war. It is clear that what all you and the 25 other governors are doing is  pushing Ethnocentrism, Racism, White privilegeXenophobia & a host of other irrational forms of discrimination.

You can follow this link to read the rest of it..

And FYI, I called Gov Abbott a Sodomite because contrary to loud and wrong right wing opinion, Sodom and its sister city Gomorrah were destroyed for lack of hospitality. not homosexuality.

Yo Ted, Show Us Your Birth Certificate

Whoopi Goldberg
Ted Cruz has declared he is running for president in 2016 (stop laughing).  The junior senator from Alberta was an unrepentant birther, and now it is going to be delicious to whack him relentlessly with the same shade he and his birther crew threw at President Obama.

Teabagger Ted fits their scenario they tried and failed to pain the POTUS with.   He was born in Canada, has an American mother and a Cuban father.

As I love to say, karma is not only a you know what, but wears a dress and stiletto heels.

And Whoopi Goldberg got the party started on The View earlier today by demanding to see Ted Cruz's birth certificate.  We don't care if you released it in 2013.  What if it's a fake?

Mr. Spock Is NOT A Republican

What is it about these conservafools who gleefully oppress people, then want to claim liberal-progressive heroes and sheroes who are the polar opposites to everything they stand for?

Remember when the conservafools in 2008 tried to claim that Sarah Palin was Wonder Woman, only to have Lynda Carter herself call them out on it?

They haven't learned their lesson yet

In the wake of Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy passing away Friday and President Obama commenting on it like every other Trekkie and fan of the show has, a Republican state legislator in Oregon couldn't resist the urge to make a fool out of himself and try to claim him for Team Conservafool.

Naw Rep. Post, not only was the late Leonard Nimoy NOT a Republican, his iconic character wasn't either.    Spock was the science officer on the USS Enterprise, and one of his favorite quotes was 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few' (or the one)

Your party not only hates science, but your party's motto should be 'the needs of the Koch Brothers and the 1% outweigh the needs of society.'  And neither is 'live long and prosper' an endorsement of your party's 'greed is good' fiscal policies.

And because you Teapublicans have no health care plan besides don't get sick and die quickly, how can anyone live long enough to prosper?

If you are so desperate to claim a Star Trek character,  if anything, the Ferengi are the peeps you Republicans are most like in the Star Trek universe.

You both chase profit over people, and have no use for you feminine population unless it benefits you.

I'm surprised you haven't adopted the Ferengi Rules Of Acquisition as your party platform and replace the elephant with a smiling Ferengi as your party's new mascot.

So no, have several seats if you ever again in life try to compare your party to Mr. Spock..

Conservative Party Senators Mess With C-279 In Committee

Ever since C-279 passed with support of all the major Canadian political parties in the House of Commons in March 2013, trans people in the Great White North were cautiously optimistic that they would finally reach their political Holy Grail of having federal human rights protection.

C-279 simply amends the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Canadian Criminal Code to add gender identity as a protected class, and our Canadian trans cousins had good reason to be optimistic.

Since 2012, six provinces have followed the Northwest Territories 2004 lead and passed human rights protection for their trans citizens.   Ontario, Manitoba and Nova Scotia all did so that year, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador followed in 2013, and Saskatchewan in 2014

But one of the notable House of Common NO votes back in 2013 was Prime Minister Stephen Harper, with now Liberal leader Justin Trudeau not voting on it at all.

That's probably one of the reasons why the Conservative Party when it got to the Senate that they dominated, started acting like their south of the border Republican cousins and fracking with C-279 by bringing up the discredited bathroom predator lie.

It also didn't help that the TERF's Canadian Division, AKA the REAL Women of Canada also started sticking their transphobic noses in the Conservative effort to halt passage of C-279.

C-279 still continued to advance, passing first and second reading stage votes and getting successfully voted out of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights on June 10, 2013 chaired by Liberal Sen. Mobina Jaffer.

But on the cusp of a major human rights victory, the Conservatives went into full trans oppressor mode during the third reading stage that occurred just before the Canadian Senate went into its summer 2013 recess.   What was more disgusting that it was lesbian Tory Senator Nancy Ruth leading the charge.

After the Conservative senate leadership ran out the clock and refused to call for that Third Reading vote, that was followed by Prime Minister Harper proroguing parliament in September, which forced C-279 to start from scratch in the Senate legislative process because it was a private member's bill.

Other more ominous signs were Sen Jaffer expressing her concerns during that summer 2013 recess the bill wouldn't pass, and Liberal Senator Grant Mitchell stating what was blatantly obvious to the TransGriot, our trans cousins and the world by calling out the Conservatives for stalling C-279.

When the Senate returned for business after Thanksgiving in October, instead of C-279 going through Sen Jaffer's committee, it was sent after passing another Second Reading vote to the Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs chaired by Conservative senator Bob Rumciman.

It also has transphobic Tory senator and longtime C-279 hater Neil Plett as a member.

Fortunately Sen. Jaffer is a member of that committee along with Senator Mitchell, but they were outnumbered   On Thursday the Conservative dominated committee passed Plett introduced amendments by a 6-4 margin to exempt C-279 from applying to public spaces including bathrooms and locker rooms.

The negative reaction to that from Canadian trans people and our allies was swift.

The federal NDP  released a statement criticizing what they characterize as the Senate’s attempt to block the bill from passing. “The Senate’s attempt to obstruct this bill that would finally give transgender Canadians the protection and equal status they deserve is reprehensible,” said Randall Garrison, the NDP's LGBT critic and sponsor of C-279, in the statement.

“Human rights are not conditional,” said Helen Kennedy of Egale Canada Human Rights Trust. “The human rights of transgender people must be protected in all spaces including public bathrooms and locker rooms. The amendment to Bill C-279 fuels discrimination against transgender individuals by making it seem like people have something to fear by sharing a bathroom with a transgender person, which of course they don’t.”

“As a transgender person I have been waiting a long time for federal human rights protections,” said Amanda Ryan of Gender Mosaic. “Bathrooms are dangerous for me. I fear what people will do to me if they realize I am transgender. Bill C-279 was meant to protect me from hate crimes, but in amending it, the Senate is putting me at risk. It will force me to use the men’s bathroom, and a transgender woman in the men’s room is a recipe for violence.”

“We appealed to all Senators to support Bill C-279 without any amendments,” said Alex Neve, Secretary-General of Amnesty International Canada. “The original Bill is what was needed. If Senators passed the bill in Committee with no amendments, we would be well on our way to having life-saving human rights protections in place in a matter of weeks.”

“We believe that vulnerable minorities are entitled to basic human rights and should have the full protection of the law; this Bill as amended falls short of providing that protection,” said Richard Marceau of The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs.

C-279 is headed toward a third reading vote, and if it passes third reading with the amendments voted down, it would go to Canadian Governor general David Johnston for Royal Assent to become Canadian law.

But if it passes with the amendments, it has to go back to the House of Commons, and with a Canadian federal election looming on October 19, it's highly unlikely it would pass the Conservative dominate chamber before parliament is dissolved.

And it's sad that it has come to this for a sorely needed human rights bill.

But the C-279 fight just reinforces what I have been saying for months in our below the 49th Parallel trans human rights struggle.   Thee most dangerous bigot is the one with the power to pass legislation.

You also can't get progressive laws passed out of a conservative legislative body.
