Rep. Lynn Jenkins Telegraphed It Two Years Ago...

Why the conservative movement is so dissatisfied with their 2012 presidential candidate field.   They're still looking for their Great White GOP Hope to take on President Obama..

They hate President Obama so much they would have a cow if on January 20, 2013 he's standing on the steps of the capitol taking the oath of office for his second term.

Nope, Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) inadvertently let the cat out of the GOP bag at that Kansas town hall. As much as she and the conservafool movement would love to see that August 19, 2009 town hall videotape and the 'Great White Hope' comment disappear, it isn't.

And we African-Americans aren't going to let it disappear, either.
"Republicans are struggling right now to find the great white hope," Jenkins said to the crowd. "I suggest to any of you who are concerned about that, who are Republican, there are some great young Republican minds in Washington."

Rep Jenkins named Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA). Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as those up and coming young conservative leaders.

So fast forward to 2011 and the current GOP presidential candidate field and the conservative frustration with it comes even more sharply into focus.

They hate Mitt Romney, but none of the other peeps who have risen to 'Anybody But Mitt' status has had the staying power to consolidate their gains.

First it was Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who gave it a whirl, then Gov.Rick Perry (R-TX) until his debate gaffe.   Then the cookie chomping knee-grow Herman Cain until his philandering ways were revealed along with his utter lack of grasp of policy.

Then it was speaker Newt Gingrich until Romney and everybody else took him down with a barrage of negative advertising   Now it's Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and former senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) moving up fast with the Iowa caucuses mere days away.

All of Ron Paul's racist and wacky views are coming to light, and they haven't even begun to touch his son Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) yet.  And just wait until they start running the commercials whacking Rick Santorum for his foibles.

In the meantime President Obama's 2012 campaign team is raising money and has the DVR's going to record the GOP debate commentaries that you will probably see in an Obama presidential commercial next fall..

If the POTUS is so 'beatable' as they think he is in conservafool world, then why have Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN), Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), Sen John Thune (R-SD). Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI), former Florida governor Jeb Bush and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin all declined to take him on?

Pondering that fact with the backdrop of the fast approaching Iowa caucuses and the January 10 New Hampshire primary has the conservative movement apoplectic that this lovely January 20, 2009 scene will repeat itself in thirteen months.

And as y'all struggle to find that new Great White GOP Hope, the current president is working to restore the nation from the damage your last Great White GOP Hope caused.

Lowe's Caves To Islamophobia

Y'all know I don't really care too much about reality TV shows, but in light of what is going on with the TLC Network's All-American Muslim show and right wing Islamophobes pressuring companies to remove their advertising from it, may just have to start watching this one in protest.

The show premiered last month and focuses on the lives of five Muslim-American families in Dearborn, MI.   The Detroit suburb has the largest Muslim population in the United Stares and boasts the country's largest mosque.

But a Tampa based group of Islamophobes called the Florida Family Association has been hatin' on the show and pimping a boycott of it.    The FFA claims that it has gotten 65 of the 67 companies they targeted with  boycott letters to comply with their wishes.

One of those companies is the giant North Carolina based home improvement megastore Lowe's, which acknowledged they pulled their advertising from the show.

While they received praise from conservafools and the FFA about their decision it is getting increasing backlash from fair minded Americans.

"Hate groups are entitled to their bigotry — that is the beauty of America, people have the right to their own opinions," Said Hussam Ayloush, the executive director of the Los Angeles chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. "However, when a large corporation takes their side or caves in to the requests of hate groups, that is of concern."

Rep Keith Ellison, (D-MN) the only Muslim in the US congress issued a statement that Lowe's had "chosen to uphold the beliefs of a fringe hate group" and given in to intolerance.

"Corporate America needs to take a stand against these anti-Muslim fringe groups and stand up for what is right because this is what it means to be an American," said Rep. Ellison.
Lowe's spokeswoman Karen Cobb said the company had a "long-standing commitment" to diversity and pulled the ads only after the show became "a lightning rod for people to voice complaints from a variety of perspectives."

Yeah, right Lowe's  You caved to bigots...

Muppets Of The World Unite-Fox Thinks You're Communists

In the latest example of conservafool idiocy,  Fox Business 'News' commentator Eric Bolling put his foot in his mouth as usual and declared that the latest Muppet movie was an attack on the oil industry and capitalism.

Bolling's got his draws in knots because Miss Piggy isn't capitalist swine enough for his conservatastes.   .

He made the ludicrous assertion that the new Disney installment of the “The Muppets” franchise was evidence of a liberal Hollywood conspiracy to brainwash children.

Well, can't help it if truth has a liberal bias homes and Miss Piggy is not capitalist swine enough for this corporations are people too conservafool.  But I digress.

The film features an evil oil baron played by Chris Cooper named Tex Richman who wants to raze the Muppets’ old theater so he can drill for oil. The gang reunites to host a major fundraiser to win their theater back. Bolling saw it as an attack on the oil industry and capitalism.

Really?  Now I definitely have to make time to go see this movie since it's pissing you conservafools off.

So tell me Eric, when is the Muppet Manifesto coming out?   Where can I pick up a copy of Elmo's Little Red Book?  Are they going to Havana to film their next movie?

Another Reason For You NOT To Vote GOP in 2012

Hmm, missed this one when it was originally written in August because I was focused on other developments, but better late than never.

According to Addicting Info.com seems as though the peeps in the conservafool extremist National Organization for Marriage have crafted a pledge they are trying to get GOP candidates to sign that seeks to have a presidential commission formed to investigate the rainbow community should they be elected..

The pledge reads as follows.
I, [candidate name], pledge to the American people that if elected President, I will:
[...] establish a presidential commission on religious liberty to investigate and document reports of Americans who have been harassed or threatened for exercising key civil rights to organize, to speak, to donate or to vote for marriage and to propose new protections, if needed.

Translation, a McCarthyesque commission to intimidate LGBT people who oppose NOM's hatin' on same gender marriage.

And why should we be concerned about the National Organization For Marriage?   When you have an organization who has a board member who has advocated the overthrow of the federal government as an appropriate response to pro-marriage equality decisions and the response of NOM is cricket chirping silence, well, your antenna as a liberal progressive needs to be up.

'Religious Liberty' my azz.   That's conservaspeak for we wanna hide our bigotry, hatred and intolerance of  everybody who doesn't look, love, think or act like us behind the Bible and cherrypick scriptures to do so. .

At the time they complied the post the people who have signed it are Rep. Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney.

Big surprise.

Is November 6, 2012 here yet?

Rev. Al Tears Newt And The Conservafools A New One

I still haven't calmed down enough to write a post tearing Newt Gingrich and the conservafools a new one over the jacked up War On The Poor.

Reverend Al Sharpton calls them out on his MSNBC PoliticsNation show.

And you wanna know why I despise the Republican Party and the conservative movement?

It's On Scott Walker: The Wisconsin Recall Effort Begins

On November 15 the recall effort to unseat unpopular Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker commenced with the opponents of the GOP governor needing to gather 540,000 signatures by January 17 in order to trigger a recall election that would be scheduled for March 27 with enough valid signatures.

If there were a primary in either party, that election would be pushed back again to April 24.

In just 48 hours the Recall Scott Walker team has gathered 50,000 signatures and if they can sustain that rate they will have the required number of signatures in 11 days.    Their target is 600,000 so they have a cushion for any that are thrown out.

And for you TransGriot readers in Wisconsin, here's the link to the United Wisconsin page so you can do your part and join in on the fun.

Good luck and may you have much success in recalling and sending Scott Walker back to his life as a private citizen.
