Happy Anniversary Of Your 25th Birthday, Isis!

Hey, couldn't let today pass without sending a TransGriot birthday shoutout to my fave model and America's Next Top Model superstar.

Today is the first anniversary of my little sis Isis King's 25th birthday.

More than a little pissed you got robbed in that All Stars competition, but hey I'm biased when it comes to you and I freely admit it.

As I said in the first open letter I wrote to you:

As time goes on, transition will get easier for you. Your confidence will grow as you learn who Isis is, get comfortable with your body and figure out what type of woman you want to project to the world. As you work through that ongoing process, you will eventually get to the point in which you feel as strong, sexy, beautiful and confident as the Egyptian queen you chose to name yourself after. This America's Next Top Model experience will only help speed that inevitable day along.

What I wrote back in 2008 has become glaringly apparent that you are fulfilling those prophetic words I penned at that time.

As you continue to travel down your ongoing evolutionary path of womanhood, you are as sexy, beautiful and confident as the Egyptian queen.  The name Isis fits you like a glove and as the years pass it will only get better for you.  It's just a matter now of you continuing to own your power and confidently expressing it.

Still looking forward to the day that our paths finally cross, I get to meet you and give you that big hug I been promising on these electronic pages.

Happy birthday,.Isis!   I hope and pray that your birthday is a blessed, low stress day full of abundant blessings. and may you have many more!

Happy 30th Birthday Serena!

Hmm...almost forgot I'm traveling on the milestone birthday of one of my favorite tennis playing siblings.

Today is the Big 3-0 birthday for Serena Jameka Williams, or as you TransGriot readers know who read my Williams sisters tennis updates I call 'Little Sis'.

While she had a disappointing and jacked up to say the least loss to Sam Stosur in the US Open final, considering the drama and health issues she's faced this year, she probably considers reaching this birthday a blessing.

It was wonderful to see her playing world class tennis and they'd better look out for Little Sis in 2012.

Happy 30th Birthday Beyonce

I wasn't going to let today pass without a TransGriot birthday shoutout to my Houston homegirl Beyonce Giselle Knowles Carter, who was born on this day in H-town back in 1981.

Yep, Beyonce's hit the Big 3-0 birthday.

Form Destiny's Child to having a child next year, it's been fun to watch her rise from that cute kid on Star Search to international style icon and Grammy Award winning solo artist and actress.

Happy birthday Beyonce, may you have many more .

Happy Birthday Pam and Judge Vicky

One of the cool things about your birthday is that you find out who some of the well known or historically famous people you share it with.

I find it deliciously interesting that two trailblazing transwomen, author Pamela Hayes and California Superior Court Judge Vicky Kolakowski share the same birthday, and I wasn't missing the opportunity to give them both the TransGriot birthday shout outs they deserve.

Pam's musings appear on TransGriot from time to time, and I wanted to take a moment to not only thank her for providing her take on various trans and other issues as she sees them, but for allowing me to share her words with you readers in the first place.

Pam, may you have a happy, low stress birthday full of blessings and may you have more of them

And keep those words of wisdom coming.

If you're wondering where you've heard that name before, Judge Vicky Kolakowski made history during the 2010 election cycle by becoming the first open transperson elected to a judicial trial court bench.

That happened in California, and Judge Vicky after the initial crush of well deserved media attention is settling into her duties and serving the people of Alameda County well..

I'm hoping that trailblazing Judge Vicky is also enjoying her birthday as well.  May she have many more of them, and may she be reelected by the people of Alameda County to continue serving them.

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Couldn't let today pass without a TransGriot birthday shoutout to one of my fave people and personalities in the trans community.

I've known Ethan St. Pierre since the late 90's and am proud to count him amongst my friends.   he's been a trans human rights warrior for over a decade and isn't afraid to tell it like it T-I-S is when it comes to the people inside or outside our community that would impede trans rights progress.

He is also passionate when it comes to the TDOR and keeping it true to the principles of being the memorial event is is supposed to be for our fallen transpeople in addition to being the keeper of the stats.  .

Thanks to the TransFM podcast you can hear his thoughts about many of the issues that impact our community and he has stood up to be counted at his state and federal level when it comes to fighting to trans rights coverage

Happy birthday Ethan!   Thanks for everything you have and continue to do for our community.  May your birthday be a blessed and low stress one and may you have many more. .

Happy 50th Birthday President Obama

He's had a more stressful than necessary month leading up to it no thanks to the Republifools playing games with our debt ceiling and putting our AAA credit rating at risk, but today is the big 5-0 birthday for President Barack H. Obama!

His enemies on the left and right still hate him, but yet he still rises, survives and thrives as he continues to outflank, outsmart, and outstrategize them while continuing to do what's right for the country.

Happy 50th birthday Mr. President!.    May you celebrate many more as a resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and the 44th president of the United States of America.
