1000 Posts This Year!

I know I have a lot to say at times, the news comes fast and furiously and I can be rather prolific in terms of the number of posts I crank out, but even I'm astounded by hitting this milestone.

I fell just short of writing 1000 posts for the year in 2009 and didn't think I'd ever get that close to hitting that milestone again.

But thanks to the fact this was a midterm election year, we have a lot of trans news to talk about, and I have opinions about a lot of subjects, I've easily achieved this goal with more than a month remaining in 2010.

But then again, when you've had five straight months of 100 or more posts, it can add up fairly quickly.

Thanks TransGriot readers for letting me know how much you appreciate my work and writing so that I'm motivated to keep cranking out quality posts for your enjoyment.

Thanks And Help A Sistah Out

I'm getting close to hitting the 1.5 million hit milestone on this blog, and for that I thank you loyal TransGriot readers. I deeply appreciate it.

You say that TransGriot is important to you and that you get your news from it.

But I do have something to ask you.

On the left hand side of this blog I have a donate button. In order to keep this blog add free, I'm going need to have the donations increase.

I get a little more than 2000 hits a day. If I got just 10% of you to chip in as little as $5, I would have the money I need to make some improvements such as have a backup computer, do some repairs on the now TransGriot primary computer and pay for my Internet service in advance.

Of course, if you feel like chipping in more, that's all good as well. If you can only afford to chip in $1, then that works for me as well.

If I can't get folks to start doing a little bit more to help support the blog, you probably will be seeing ads in the near future. While its come out of my pocket for most of the life of this blog, the negative economy has affected me as well.

I got cut back so much on my hours I became a reluctant member of the 99ers. The move also cut into my reserve savings as well and I'm not getting as many freelance writing assignments.

So, that's the sitch I'm in right now. If you want TransGriot around as a viable community resource, I'm going to need some help to keep making that happen through this rough patch I'm in.

Black Transwoman Thinking, Composing Posts

Been out and about today running a few errands and prepping for my upcoming trip back home to the 713 for Christmas.

In the process of doing so, getting ready to go home and the general hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I haven't had enough quiet time to solidly think about some issues and write about them.

When I compile posts about various issues, a lot of hard solid thinking, research and fact checking goes into the creative process for me. I have a few in various stages of construction, but they're not quite at the quality level I demand from myself for a TransGriot post.

When I've refined them to my satisfaction, up they will go on the blog as expeditiously as possible.

2000 Posts!

You are looking at another TransGriot milestone.

This post is the 2000th one I have composed for this blog since I started it on January 1, 2006.

Wow, guess I had a lot to say about trans issues and many others from an African flavored perspective, huh?

It's awe inspiring to note that I get people all over the planet who take the time out of their busy days to surf over here to TransGriot and read what I have to say about trans and other issues in the world surrounding me.

I have been blessed with new friends since the start of this blog. I've seen my writing quoted by people, linked to by influential newspapers and even seen some of the catchphrases I came up like conservafool starting to appear elsewhere in the blogosphere and beyond.

I'm even starting to get awards for it.

But as I shoot for post 2500 and beyond, the basic mission of TransGriot hasn't changed.

That mission, dear readers, is to educate, inform and entertain you at the same time.

Thank you TransGriot readers for your support and coming along for the ride.
