Unjust HB 1748 Bathroom Bill Filed In Texas

RiddleFigured it wouldn't take long before our right wing idiots decided to not be left out of the hate on transpeople party.

It's also another example of what I continue to say in terms of the most dangerous bigot is the one with the power to write legislation.

Teapublican Rep. Debbie Riddle has just filed HB 1748, an odious bill that if it becomes law,  would make it a class-A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum $4,000 fine for transgender people to use "a locker room, shower facility, or toilet facility designated for use by persons of a gender that is not the same gender as the individual’s gender."

Damn Debbie, don't we have better things to spend our valuable Lone Start State legislative time on besides obsessing over what bathroom trans people use?

Really makes me wonder why you white conservatives continue to express this deep seated need to oppress people.

Riddle's HB 1748 would also make it a state jail felony punishable by up to two years in prison and a maximum $10,000 fine for a building manager to "repeatedly allow" a transgender person to use such a facility according to their gender identity.

What's even more interesting is how this scientifically illiterate bill defines gender:

Riddle

Hey Debbie, would love to see you lead by example and volunteer to do a chromosome test.  I and every other Texas trans person would laugh our asses off if you came up anything but XX.

This caca is why my hatred of Republicans grows the older I get and with every legislative session they propose bills that repress everyone else except white conservative males.

I also get pissed off when some liberal progressive person stupidly says in my presence that voting is a waste of time.   Sitting out elections is why this scientifically challenged person is in the Texas Legislature now.

Looks like a trip to Austin is coming soon.  And Texas transpeeps, time for us to saddle up and become agents of our own liberation and fight this crappy (pun intended) bill.

But it also evidence that the trans human rights movement is winning if the best that conservative opponents can do is go back to recycled for the new millennium Jim Crow tactics and attempt to criminalize the bathrooms once again.

Bye, Stacey!

Tennessee state Sen. Stacey Campfield (R) lost his primary Thursday. (AP Photo/Erik Schelzig, File)I've said the most dangerous bigot is one that has the power to write legislation, and Tennessee Teapublican state senator Stacey Campfield has been Exhibit A of that.

Ever since he was elected to the Tennessee legislature in 2010, he has not only proposed unjust legislation like the 'Don't Say Gay' bill, in 2013, he put forward a widely criticized bill that would have reduced welfare assistance for families if their children did not do well in school.   Campfield also is behind a new Tennessee law requiring the state to drug-test applicants for public benefits.

In addition to Sen.Campfield's attempts to push unjust legislation, he has also flapped his gums and made cringe inducing remarks that even his own party has backpedaled from.

Back in May Campfield invoked Godwin's Law and parted his lips to say that the Obama administration touting how many people signing up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act was like the Nazis bragging how many Jews they sent to the concentration camps.

"Democrats bragging about the number of mandatory sign-ups for Obamacare is like Germans bragging about the number of mandatory sign-ups for 'train rides' for Jews in the 40s," Campfield wrote at the time. The misspelling of "mandatory" appeared in the original text.

Campfield has compared homosexuality to bestiality, made a tasteless joke about the Boston Marathon bombing, and in 2012 made wildly inaccurate claims about the origin of AIDS during a Sirius XM OutQ interview with Michelangelo Signorile.

He became well known in Tennessee LGBT community circles as being hostile to TBLG constituents that came to visit him in Nashville, which is probably a factor in why he lost his re-election bid.

"Campfield was actually WORSE than his reputation. He regularly berated and attempted to humiliate LGB and especially T constituents who went to meet with him," said Brenda Lunger.." I had to help console a young gender nonconforming person and their partner once after they had a meeting with Stacey. I just hope his replacement is human. Campfield isn't."

Last Tuesday was the Tennessee primary elections, and Campfield went down in flames in his state senate District 7 race.  He was crushed by Knoxville cardiac surgeon Richard Briggs.

With all precincts reporting, Briggs had 13,977 votes, or 66 percent, compared with Campfield's 5,824 votes, or 28 percent.

Buh Bye Stacey.   Don't think they are going to miss you in Nashville.   And good riddance.

Rep. Alan Grayson Told The Truth (Again) And The Conservafools Can't Handle It

AP alan grayson website nt 131024 16x9 608 Grayson Ratchets Up Tea Party KKK Flap Saying The Truth Hurts
I've been amused by the conservafool freak out happening because Rep Alan Grayson (D-FL) called out the Tea Klux Klan in a fundraising flyer that substitutes a burning cross for the 'T' in Tea Party.

I've called them the Tea Klux Klan for years and approve of Rep Grayson's message and love the fact he isn't backing down from what he said or apologizing for it.

“I’m calling them out for their hate,” Grayson said. “That’s not wrong. That needs to be done. It’s the only way to end it.”

He also went a step further by calling out the Tea Party Tea Klux Klan for being engaged in hate speech, prejudice, discrimination, racism and even warned that they could resort to violence.

Now comes the predictable play of the butthurt Tea Klux Klan - sending out their knee-grow auxiliary sellouts as human shields to defend them and their off the charts racism.

Jesse Lee Peterson shuffled out from whatever SoCal rock he was holed up under to laughably demand that Rep Grayson 'apologize to conservative Black and independents', then threw out in his press release statement attacking liberal progressive Black as 'being on the Democrat plantation.'.

That house knee-grow needs to have an Oreo cookie and a nice tall glass of STFU.

Rep Grayson was correct when he said, "I stand by the unfortunate truth that the Tea Party has been all too willing to open itself and be a home to bigots, and prejudice now, for years. That’s the unfortunate truth we all have to live with. I stand by that.”

And it's a truth they can't and don't want to come to grips with.  The Tea Party is a cesspool of racism. That fact was true in 2010, it was true in 2011, it was true in 2012 and it's true right now.

If you conservatives don't want to be called racists and bigots, stop acting in ways that leave non-whites and our allies no choice but to call you out and correctly describe you as racists and bigots.

Is The Texas Special Session Over Yet?

The Teapublican controlled Texas Legislature went into a special session moments after the sine die date on the regular 2013 session that is mercifully drawing to a close.

In addition to taking on the redistricting issue which will have a lawsuit filed against it when this session is over faster than you can say 'Rick Perry', Governor Goodhair (R) also threw a right-wing bone to the teabaggers and added the issue of abortion to the issues being worked on during the legislative special session,.

That's when the fun started. State Rep Jodie Laubenberg (Teabagger-Parker) obliged by being the House sponsor of SB 5, a bill that not only bans abortion after 20 weeks, it sets standards for existing clinics in Texas that will force 37 of the 42 clinics that currently operate in the state to close.

Rep Senfronia Thompson (D-Houston) then introduced an amendment to the draconian bill that would carve out an exception for it in the cases of rape and incest, and it was in the context of explaining why it wasn't needed that Laubenburg made the gaffe that is going to follow her to her grave and hopefully will lead to her being voted out of the legislature next November.

Rep Thompson's amendment was defeated but not before the dean of the Texas House engaged in some of her classic oratory excoriating the Republifools.

With the GOP having a 95-55 Texas House majority, there was no doubt this odious bill was going to pass and it did 97-33.  But due to there being differing versions of extremism in SB 5, it has to go back to the Senate for reconciliation, where Senate Dems are preparing to welcome it with a filibuster in the hopes of killing it when the special session ends at midnight and denying Perry the chance to scribble his signature on it an make it law.

Lt Gov David Dewhurst (R) who is rumored to wanting to run for Perry's job next year is dropping hints that if 'certain measures' don't pass, we'll have another tax money wasting and drama filled special session.

Is it November 6, 2014 yet?

EW Jackson Misspells Title Of His Book On The Cover

The Tea Klux Klan and their knee-grow auxiliaries just keep making it too easy for me to mock and ridicule them.   We're going to do this in Final Jeopardy format (snicker, snicker)

E.W Jackson, the cookie chomping sellout running for lieutenant governor of Virginia has a misspelled word on the front cover of his waste of trees book.  What is it?

And remember, your answer must be in the form of a question

Cue Final Jeopardy think music

Bishopewjacksonsr takenatrally.JPGTimes up, TransGriot readers.   What was your answer?

If you said, What is 'Commandments'? you are correct, TransGriot reader.

Hey 'Bishop' Jackson, if  you can't spell, we damned sure don't need you making law.   Besides, your ideas and political stances are too batturd off the chain for you to even become the lieutenant governor of Virginia, much less be allowed to cast the tiebreaking votes in a deadlocked Virginia senate.

And you know this fool just earned another Shut Up Fool Award nomination for this one..

Anti-Trans SB 1218 Passes Texas Senate

.
State Sen. Donna CampbellIf you're wondering why I can't stand Republifools and why I've been posting Daniel Williams' Texas legislative updates since the 2013 session started, it's because Republicans continue to demonstrate a shamelessly inexhaustible ability and desire to oppress people

Knowing that the clock is ticking toward the end of the regular session of the 83rd Texas Legislature, the Republifools have all of a sudden gotten busy trying to pass their anti-TBLG hate legislation before they hit the May 21 deadline dates for when those bills can't be considered by the other chambers.

The Dallas Voice reports that the Texas Senate passed SB 1218 yesterday that takes dead aim at the Texas trans community.   One of the documents you can currently can use to get a marriage license in the Lone Star State is an affidavit of sex change.

Well, no thanks to Texas state Sen. Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels) and her co-sponsor Sen Jane Nelson (R-Flower Mound) our ability to marry an opposite sex partner in this state may have just taken a hit.   She sponsored SB 1218, which prohibits anyone from obtaining a marriage license with a document that lacks a photo.

And what document that is on the approved list of those you can use to get a marriage license in Texas fits that criteria?    If you said the affidavit of sex change, go to the head of the class.  Back in the 2011 session Sen Tommy Williams (R-The Woodlands) sponsored SB 723, which only went after the affidavit of sex change and we got the unjust bill killed.

This time the conservafools were sneakier about how they went about their transphobic legislative oppression.   Sen. Campbell claims that her intent was to make people show photo ID before they can get a marriage license, but we heard that same bull feces laden excuse when they passed their voter suppression act in 2011 that got spiked by the DOJ.

This is another straight up unconstitutional attack on the ability of Texas transpeople to get married to the opposite gender, and yep, Texas has one of those odious anti-same gender marriage amendments contaminating its constitution.

All is not lost Texas trans folks.  The bill has to pass the House Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committee and make it on the House calendar before May 21.   Daniel Williams and Equality Texas are watching what's going on in addition to working to slow it down so it misses that deadline and gets killed for the session.

I'll be keeping an eye on this unjust bill and letting you know if it's time Texas trans community for us to be agents of our own liberation again.

And you peeps that live in Sen Campbell's and Sen Nelson's districts can thank them for their transphobia by voting them out of office.

You Were Right: You ARE Just A Bunch Of Racist, Pathetic Sore Losers

Y'all told the truth about yourselves back in 2010 when you first started having those Tea Klux Klan meetings.

Now, one week after your crushing loss to President Obama shattered and splattered your pipe dreams of making him a one term president,  you're now showing your infantile KKKolors and demonstrating for the whole world just how prophetic the above sign in the photo is.

You're not 'Real Americans'.  You are not even worthy of being called Americans because you're demanding to 'secdee' from this nation because of a lost election.

Naw, let's be real about this.  You're frothing at the mouth angry that our African American POTUS once again decisively won another election.  It also frosts you bigots that President Obama and his family will be residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in that nice white house my ancestors built with their unpaid labor through January 20, 2017.

Why don't you hooked on phonics challenged losers do us a favor and self deport yourselves from those of us who wish to move the United States forward into the 21st century and not backwards into the 19th century vanillacentric privileged hell y'all wanted to take it?

News flash: The Canadians don't want you in their home and native land either.

We liberal progressives were beyond pissed about the previous White House occupant stealing two elections.  But unlike y'all we worked to clean up the Bushit at the ballot box.

But if y'all do leave it'll make it easier to give John Boehner something to really cry about interms of having to hand his speaker's gavel back to Nancy Pelosi.

Texas Secede? Yeah, Right

As many of you long time TransGriot readers are aware of I'm a proud fourth generation Texan and native Houstonian.

I've been amused and concerned to see in the wake of President Obama's overwhelming reelection victory last week pissed off white peepul rioting at the University of Mississippi, letting their inner Klansmen out on Facebook and Twitter, and Republican leaning 'bidnessmen' using the excuse of the Obama victory and expansion of the Democratic Senate majority to lay off workers.

Now we have so called 'Real Americans' showing their love of this country by sticking petitions on the White House website asking to secede from the United States with the one from my beloved home state getting 80,000 nekulturny people to sign it.

Um people, we're in the middle of observing the 150th anniversary of the War To Perpetuate Slavery (AKA the Civil War) your ancestors jumped off because of that 'states rights' bull feces.

The question of whether a state could secede or not was not only settled on the battlefield 150 years ago (and y'all lost that war) but was settled by an 1869 US Supreme Court ruling in the Texas v. White case that says no state has the right to unilaterally secede.

I also find it ironic that the racist failed nation state you continue to romanticize that your ancestors founded that you claim was founded on that 'states rights' principle but was actually of and about perpetuating slavery, was a four year failure in nation building.   The CSA was never recognized by any other world power and hypocritically barred a proposed constitutional provision preserving the right of a state to secede.

So I'm chuckling over this post- election rhetoric from predominately white Texans who were asleep in their Texas history classes wanting to secede and reestablish the Republic of Texas.

If you were paying attention, the Republic of Texas that existed from 1836-1846 and whose capital for two years (1837-1839) was Houston had a tough time fending off Mexican Army and Comanche incursions, and racked up a $10 million debt that the US government agreed to assume once annexation of Texas was complete

So let's get to the real reason why the Tea Klux Klan is pushing this secession talk.   They have like everyone one else who is paying attention to current political developments in the Lone Star State known that Texas has become since 2009 a majority minority state population wise.   The four other majority-minority US states politically have become Democratic in political orientation and the only reason Texas hasn't gone that way is because of the 2003 Delaymandering and the gerrymandering of districts by the GOP legislative majority following the 2010 midterms

It's inevitable that Texas will once again revert to being a progressive political state, and Republicans have pissed off Latino, African-American and Asian communities to the point that it's just a matter of time before the Texas Republican Party resembles the California one.

President Obama carried four of the five largest Texas counties population wise in Harris (Houston), Dallas, Travis (Austin), and Bexar (San Antonio).  Tarrant County (Ft. Worth) went to Romney.    In addition to carrying those counties, he carried Jefferson County (Beaumont-Port Arthur), El Paso, heavily Latino South Texas and many of the counties along the Rio Grande.

A blue or even Purple Texas would be a disaster for the Republicans because they heavily rely in their presidential electoral vote calculations of having Texas' 38 electoral votes in their column.   If they were forced to compete for Texas, this state is bigger than France size wise and has expensive media markets in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio.

We non Anglo Texans already know what's driving this need to secede.  Racism.

In addition to the vanillacentric panic in conservacircles over the fact the United States will be a majority-minority population nation by 2050, that reality was driven home by the election of President Obama in 2008 and his reelection to another four year term last week.

Don't think we non-white Texans weren't paying attention when  Hardin County Republican treasurer Peter Morrison (who is also a  Ron Paul supporter) and author of a race-baiting Tea Party newsletter wrote this bigoted drivel:

"Let each go her own way," Morrison wrote, demanding an "amicable divorce" from the U.S. and from the "maggots" who re-elected President Obama.

And you wonder why I can't stand the Republican Party, Ron Paul supporters, the Tea Klux Klan and libertarians azzholes like him not necessarily in that order and people outside of this state think we're all nekulturny yahoos. .
 more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2012/11/12/3908795/commentary-politician-wants-texas.html#storylink=cpy

Bottom line is 75% of the 25,145,561 people in this state like being American citizens just fine, and I submit the 13,582,879 of us who aren't Anglo like saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing our national anthem.  We are quite aware that as long as the Stars and Stripes flies on flagpoles throughout the 268,601 square miles of  Texas turf, our human rights are protected under the laws of this country and the United States Constitution.

All bets are off on that in a white dominated Republic of Texas.

Besides, without Texas as part of the United States, you conservafoools have no chance of ever regaining the White House, so chill with that secession talk.  You also by expressing your racist selves let us know through your actions just how much you really love this country and our state..

And yeah, you tried that secession thang already in 1861.  It was a miserable failure.

Mississippi Tea Klux Klan Head Says Women Shouldn't Vote

As if I needed any more stuff to add to the Mount Everest sized pile of evidence that irrefutably points out there are major differences between the two parties, this Tea Klux Klan member just gave me another one.

Central Mississippi Tea Party president Janis Lane was part of a Jackson Free Press interview RL Nave conducted with her and two other with Tea Klux Klan members.   It was already bad enough until this Phyllis Schafly wannabe dropped this gem in the tail end of it.

Lane: I'm really going to set you back here. Probably the biggest turn we ever made was when the women got the right to vote.

What do you mean?

Lane: Our country might have been better off if it was still just men voting. There is nothing worse than a bunch of mean, hateful women. They are diabolical in how than can skewer a person. I do not see that in men. The whole time I worked, I'd much rather have a male boss than a female boss. Double-minded, you never can trust them.

Because women have the right to vote, I am active, because I want to make sure there is some sanity for women in the political world. It is up to the Christian rednecks and patriots to stand up for our country.

Everyone has the right to vote now that's 18 or over (who is) a legal citizen, and every person that's 18 and over and a legal citizen should be active in local politics so they can make a change locally, make a change on the state level and make a change in Washington, D.C.

God bless America.

Really?   You believe men aren't capable of being diabolical and in your words 'skewering a person'?  What planet do you live on?   Yeah, and I caught the dog whistle to the 'Christian rednecks and patriots.'

Thanks to the 19th Amendment and women voting some sanity reigns in our government

While we all have the right to vote, and Teapublicans who share her jacked up views aren't suppressing it for non-whites, time we exercise it on November 6 or whenever early voting starts in your locale to ensure that these people don't see another nanosecond in power.

Conservafool Senator Says Employers Have Right To Fire Peeps For Being Trans Or Gay

The Shut Up Fool Award worthy  material keeps coming from the just concluded CPAC.

This time it comes from Tea Klux Klan Senator Mike Lee of Utah, who responded with this comment Thursday when asked a question by ThinkProgress about whether he supported ENDA

KEYES: ENDA is something that rumbles every now and then in Congress. What’s your take, do you think it should be legal to fire someone just because they’re gay or transgender, or do you think that’s not in the purview of the Constitution?
LEE: Look, I think employers ought not make their hiring decisions based on categories like that, and I don’t think most of them do.
KEYES: But whether or not it should be a crime.
LEE: Whether it should be a federal crime, specific to federal law? No. I think the federal government has expanded its role into regulation of matters that historically that were in the purview of the states. [...]
KEYES: Is there any difference between firing someone for being gay rather than firing someone because of their race?
LEE: Yes, yes. The 14th Amendment — in fact the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments — were adopted specifically around the race issue. So, yeah, there is a difference.

I find it hilarious that the GOProud conservafool sellouts were barred from the CPAC conference, but white supremacists were let in, embraced with open arms and even allowed a panel discussion.

But back to Sen. Lee and his loud and wrong opinion on ENDA.   You just made the case as to why the Employment and Non Discrimination Act needs to be passed and should have been prioritized over DADT repeal.

Even better for trans people, you made the case that we can take to some hardheads in the GL community as to why we need to be included in it and will not support a gay only version of ENDA.

President Obama also has a dissenting opinion as well.

The work that we’ve done with respect to the LGBT community I think is just profoundly American and is at the heart of who we are.” Obama concluded in remarks at a high dollar Democratic fundraiser sponsored by Tim Gill on February 9.  The way to make progress is to foster an America “where everybody has a fair shot, everybody is doing their fair share, we’re playing by a fair set of rules, everybody is engaging in fair play.”

And if it escaped the attention of some of you peeps, transpeople are Americans, too.
