So who is in the running to take the 2018 Shut Up Fool of the Year prize?   There's a lot of nominees, so let's get to them.

Shut Up Fool Awards-Carving Up Jive Turkeys Again Edition

We're all recovering after eating our fill of turkey and all the trimmings, and are either taking part in the madness that is the after Turkey Day shopping, or trying to get back home after flying or driving to our holiday destinations.

It's Friday, and y'all know what time it is.   I'm about to carve up some jive turkeys who made it clear their were idiots, just said some stupid off the chain stuff, or made you say 'WTF?' when they were talked about in the news.

What's a jive turkey?  It's 70's slang that originated in the Black community for a BS artist.

Oh yeah, before I forget it, I'll be revealing who the 2015 Shut Up Fool Of The Year will be on New Year's Eve, and I'll do it well before you leave for your New Year's Eve parties.

And now, it's time for this week's edition of the TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards.

Honorable mention number one is FOX Noise's Brian Kilmeade, who let his inner ignorant bigot out once again, but this time it was aimed at FOX fembot Harris Faulkner.

Honorable mention number two we'll travel across The Pond for and give it to the Loose Women, whose panel on oversharing information with kids took a transphobic turn that angered British viewers and our British trans cousins

Honorable mention number three is a joint award to Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel for that press conference in the wake of the release of the Laquan McDonald police execution video trying to explain why they held it back for a year.

Honorable mention number four is Sarah Palin for being made a fool of on national TV once again,. this time by Seth Myers.

This week's Shut Up Fool loser is Donald Trump, who was doing his racist Grand Dragon impersonation at his campaign Klan rallies as the racist thugs AKA the GOP base, er Tea Klux Klan followers ate it up.

He also took it to another even detestable low for him by mocking a disabled reporter, then trying to deny it as usual.

I've called out Der Donald so much I'm beginning to feel like Ugly Betty's Wilhelmina Slater.  I don't have the energy when it comes to his azz to say no anymore.

But I do have the energy to say Donald Trump, Heil Hitler, er Shut Up Fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-National Doughnut Day Edition

It's the first Friday in June, and today is National Doughnut Day in which doughnut lovers like moi got a free one in addition to whatever amount we bought to scarf up on the way to work or home.

The Shipley's down the street from the house was passing out a free glazed doughnut until noon today.  Since I'd been good and resisted temptation to eat them by the half dozen (or dozen) for the last three  months, I decided this was a good day to break the doughnut fast.

Let me move on to what y'all really surfed over here for, to find out out what fool, fools or group of fools earned this week's TransGriot Shut Up Fool Award.

So let's get right to it.

Honorable mention number one is the peeps of MassResistance, who demanded that the Boston Red Sox cancel an upcoming Pride Night game that occurred last night against the Texas Rangers

Honorable mention number two goes to my governor I didn't vote for, Rick 'Governor Goodhair' Perry, (R-TX) who vetoed a bipartisan 'Buy American' bill that passed the GOP dominated Texas House 23-7 and the GOP Dominated Texas Senate 145-0.  The bill mandates that when the state is making purchases and it comes down to a good which is US made and one foreign made and the price and quality are similar, the American made good be purchased.

Can't wait until next year's elections.

Honorable mention number three goes to Texas Tea Klux Klan leader Ken Emanuelson, who said in a May 20 meeting in response to a question about African-American outreach that "The Republican Party doesn't want Black people to vote if they are going to vote 9-1 for Democrats."

Well, Ken, you haven't given us a reason to vote for y'all since 1970 and you have an almost effortless ability to piss us off with your jacked up statements and racist policies that ensure that trend will continue for another decade.

Honorable mention number four goes to Faux Bidness host Stuart Varney, who admitted that he is being mean to poor people in his loud and wrong lies aimed at the Earned Income Tax Credit

And this week's winner is Uncle Ruckus Rev EW Jackson, the Virginia GOP lieutenant governor nominee who said the reason he doesn't believe in evolution is because "monkeys can't talk

That comment is so stunningly stupid I don't even have a response for that one except this.

Rev EW Jackson, shut the hell up, fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- First 2012 Friday The 13th Edition

Today is the first Friday the thirteenth on the 2012 calendar for this year.

In case you're wondering TransGriot readers, we'll only have two more of those this year on the 2012 calendar and they will occur in April and July

That's a nice segue into something that happens every Friday, and that is the much anticipated selection of this week's TransGriot Shut Up Fool! award winner.

Every week I get to shine a bright spotlight on the fool, fools or group of fools who continue to remind us as Mr. T reminds us, that fools are everywhere.

And sometimes there are so many, that I need your help to sort  them out or suggest people that need to be given the Shut Up Fool! treatment.

So lets get to this week's award winner shall we?

Our nominees this week were the Tennessee Legislature, Fox Noise, The GOP House majority, Bill 'Cowboy' Lamza (the Houston Dallas Cowboy fan still hating on the Texans), Rick Santorum,  Sen Jim DeMint (R-SC), Ron Paul,  Sen. John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Rep Allen West (R-FL), Gov Scott Walker (R-WI) , and Gov Rick Perry (R-TX)

Honorable mention goes to Taylor, the transphobic Girl Scout in Ventura County, California who was big and bad when she was spouting her ignorant YouTube diatribe against trans girls being allowed join the Girl Scouts while calling for a boycott of the Girl Scout cookie sale

Now that the video went viral and she's getting pushback and widespread condemnation for it all of a sudden the video went private.

But this week's winner is Willard 'Mitt' Romney, who earned this week's award with that arrogant victory speech in the wake of his win in New Hampshire Tuesday night.

He asserted that anyone who criticized him about his engaging in vulture capitalism while the CEO of Bain Capital was 'envious', engaging in the 'politics of envy'  and 'attacking capitalism'.

Naw you Gordon Gekko wannabe, we're calling your azz out.  By the way, when are you gonna release those tax returns?   Don't be 'scurred'  unless there's something in them you don't want us to see or you don't have them because you haven't paid taxes in the last few years.

Mitt Romney, shut up fool!.

Shut Up Fool Awards- Happy Holidays Edition

Happy Holidays, people!

One on the benefits of living in my beloved hometown during the winter months is that we get a break from its legendary blast furnace heat for a few months

So while you peeps up north are shivering, tiptoeing along frozen sidewalks and shoveling snow, I'm walking around with short sleeves and a Cheshire cat wide grin and 60 degree temps.   We do however get reminders that it's winter thanks to cold fronts passing through the area that can drop the temps to freezing levels..

And nope, that's not photoshopped, that's the ice rink currently in operation from Thanksgiving to January 22 at Discovery Green, the 12 acre downtown park near the George R. Brown Convention center.

To continue with the holiday theme of this Shut Up Fool weekly awards post, let's get to our important 'bidness' of determining what fool, fools or group of fools deserve a lump of coal in their Christmas stockings next week.

Our nominees this week are Texas Monthly Bum Steer of the Year award winner Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, Speaker John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Fox Noise group nomination, Texas AG Greg Abbott,  Gretchen Carlson, Ron Paul, Karl Rove, and Newt Gingrich

This week's winner is Herman Cain.

In an interview with Barbara Walters, he expressed the desire to become the Secretary of Defense.

Um Herm, that does require you to know a little something something about geography, the leaders of those various countries,.world geopolitics, and have a vowel and a clue about all the branches of our military and their various missions, issues you demonstrated an appalling and jaw dropping lack of knowledge of in your now 'suspended' presidential campaign.

Herman Cain, shut the HELL up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-MLK Jr Memorial Dedication Weekend Edition

On Sunday the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial in Washington DC will occur that was delayed due to Hurricane Irene's transit up the East Coast back in late August.

The ceremonial dedication is set to take place starting at 11 AM EDT, and once again the keynote address will be delivered by President Barack Obama.

The entertainment portion of the program will be headlined the 'Queen of Soul' herself, Aretha Franklin.  The list of speakers besides the POTUS includes civil rights icons such as Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr., Julian Bond, members of the King family, DC Mayor Vincent Gray, journalist Dan Rather, poet Nikki Giovanni and Alpha Phi Alpha general president Herman 'Skip' Mason.

Dr King said in his 1963 essay Strength To Love that "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity."

Amen, Dr. King.   And that quote allows me to segue into our weekly TransGriot business in which we shine a bright spotlight on the fool, fools or group of fools who are exhibiting dangerous levels of sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Out Shut up Fool award nominees for this week were Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Fox Noise, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH),  Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Bill Maher and Karl Rove.

Our winner this week is Rep Virginia Foxx (R-NC).  After Rep Jackie Speier (D-CA) and other Democratic women legislators lit up the Republifools over the odious 'Let Women Die' bill the GOP majority was pimping, Foxx responded with another devoid of logic defense of the so-called 'Protect Life Act'.

“For my colleagues across the aisles who say that this is a misogynist bill, nobody has ever fought more for the rights of women than I have,” Foxx declared. “Fifty percent of the unborn babies that are being aborted are females. So the misogyny comes from those that promote the killing of unborn babies. That’s where the misogyny comes in, Madame Speaker.”

Really, Rep. Foxx?  You've voted against pro-choice positions at least nine times.  And don't even get me started about all the votes you've taken against expanding the rights of women of color.

And when did Speaker Boehner became part of the rainbow family and have a gender change?.

Rep Virginia Foxx, shut the HELL up fool.
