Shut Up Fool Awards-The Trans National Holiday Is Coming Edition

This is the last Friday of October and next Thursday the Trans* National Holiday, AKA Halloween will arrive.

Mixed in with all the little ghouls, goblins and kids dressed up as their fave characters in search of candy will be the big kids doing the same at various Halloween parties and balls.

And I wonder how many will be dressed as Olivia Pope since we all know what TV show appears on Thursday nights?

I call Halloween the Trans National Holiday because once upon a time trans boys and girls and cis allies, on Halloween night in Chicago the huge Finnie's Ball used to take place on the South Side.  In New York similar elaborate drag balls were talking place in Harlem with the winners getting cash prizes for looking as femme or a masculine as possible.

Those balls became such an eagerly anticipated event they drew crowds in the thousands and garnered press coverage in EBONY, JET and the Chicago Defender.

And speaking of eagerly anticipated, that's a nice segue into moving on to conduct our usual Friday 'bidness' in our TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards in which I shine a bright spot light on the fool, fools or group of fools that exhibit mind numbing stupidity, overbearing arrogance, or just deserved to be called out for whatever reason.

Let's move on to our American Horror Stories of this week.

Honorable Mention number one goes to Rep Blake Farenthold (Teabagger-TX) , who said this in the wake of questions asking why he voted to shut down the government in his Corpus Christi area district that has lots of military vets in it who were facing the possibility of not getting their disability checks.
“I feel like my mandate when I was elected was to go reduce the size of government, lower taxes, and increase freedom, and freedom isn’t free, and sometimes you have to make a small sacrifice to move forward with what you’re after.”
November 4, 2014 can't get here fast enough for me.  Please find someone to run against this conservaidiot.

Honorable Mention number two goes to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) whose made this bigoted tweet about the ACA that was captured by Mr. Watts.

Senator, you do realize you have to run for re-election next November and there are a bunch of fair minded Texans ready to take our frustration with Teabagger Ted out on you.in 2014?

Honorable Mention number three goes to Pastor Pharisee Kevin Swanson, who on his radio show started the War On The Girl Scouts up again and implored his sheeple to not buy Girl Scout cookies because it was a wicked organization that doesn't promote 'godly womanhood'.

He also deployed the c-word in his comments.   Communism

Oooo-kay.   Time to triple my GSUSA cookie order this year and I suggest you readers do the same.

Honorable mention number four goes to (hopefully former) Richland County, SC deputy Paul Allen Derrick, whose drunken response to 23 year old USMC member Brittany Ball out of Fort Jackson when she resisted his unwanted sexual advances outside a Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbia, SC.  His pissed off response was to go get his gun and handcuffs and attempt to forcibly arrest her

Fortunately for Brittany the incident was caught on tape and Derrick has been suspended and is hopefully on his way to being fired.

Honorable Mention number five is a group award for the right wing Pacific (In) Justice Institute for not only lying on a California high school trans teenager and accusing her of 'harassment' for simply going to the lavatory that fits her gender presentation, they have triggered bullying of her so intense the parents of the trans child were compelled to place her on suicide watch.

I warned y'all these shady idiots were coming after us, and we better be ready trans community and allies to hit back just as hard.

Our winner this week is the dishonorable senator from Alberta, Rafael Edward Cruz (Teabagger-TX)

In addition to parting his lips to suggest that the GOP attempt another shutdown,  Teabagger Ted joked at a recent Houston Tea Klux Klan event that the new Affordable Care Act exchange website was being run by Nigerian email scammers.   The Nigerian government in the wake of that comment demanded an apology

It also came out that the man who wants to keep the rest of us from getting affordable insurance coverage is on his wife Heidi's high dollar plan provided by the investment firm Goldman Sachs where she works.

Can you say GOP hypocrite boys and girls?   Thought you could.

Now it's time to say something else about this situation.   Mr T, take it away.

Ted Cruz, shut the HELL up fool!

2013 Shut Up Fool Of The Year Midyear Review

On January 30, 2009 I began what has turned out to be one of the more popular features on TransGriot in my weekly Shut Up Fool Awards.

Every Friday I shine a bright spotlight on the fool, fool or group of fools who have exhibited mindbending stupidity and ignorance, naked hypocrisy, or say or do something so WTF worthy I just have to call them out on it.

Juan Williams of Fox Noise was our inaugural winner of that first award back in 2009.

Mr T is our smiling inspiration and mascot for the Shut Up Fool Awards, and because they were so wildly popular with my readers it grew into a Shut Up Fool of the Year award that I also started in 2009 and pass out every New Year's Eve.

On December 31 I honor the person, persons or group who had a year's worth of those WTF moments like 2012 winner Mitt Romney.    The previous winners were then RNC chair Michael Steele in 2009,  Sarah Palin in 2010 and in 2011 Herman Cain snagged the honor over some stiff competition.

That led to starting during Oscar Week 2010 the Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Awards in which I initially honored one person (Rush Limbaugh) and took them out of consideration for the weekly Shut Up Fool award unless they say something so breathtakingly stupid I have to call them out on it like I did with Uncle Ruckus Thomas last week or when Michele Bachmann ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.

I expanded that to five people the very next year and these were the 2013 winners.

I'm mulling a suggestion from several readers that I do a Shut Up Fool of the Month that I would start January 2014, the fifth anniversary of my first SUF weekly award winner.

Since July 2 was Day 183 of this year, it means we're past the halfway point of 2013.  It's time to start doing some hard solid thinking about who is in the running for this year's 2013 Shut Up Fool of the Year Award.

So far we have three people who have distinguished themselves as worthy of this award, and sadly two of them are from my home state.

The runaway leader so far is  Rep. Louie Gohmert (Teabagger-TX) who represents the unfortunate reality based people in the Tyler and Longview, TX area.

Gov Rick Perry (Teabagger-TX) AKA Governor Goodhair is coming on strong along with Virginia Lt Governor candidate and cookie chomping sellout Rev. EW Jackson.

Who will eventually win the 2013 Shut Up Fool of the Year?  Check back with me on December 31.

The Upcoming 2013 Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Awards

Since Oscar Awards weekend is fast approaching it's getting close to the time for me to reveal who will be the 2013 Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Award honorees.

There are just fools among us who exhibit their stupidity and rank hypocrisy so often that a Shut Up Fool Weekly Award or a Shut Up Fool of the Year doesn't do them justice.   Onc they earn a Lifetime Achievement Award, they are retired from weekly Shut Up Fool Award consideration unless they say something so jacked up (a la Michele Bachmann) I just have to call them out on it.

I started giving out a Lifetime Achievement Award during Oscar Weekend, with Rush Limbaugh being honored with the first one in 2010

One wasn't enough, so I expanded it to five honorees in 2011 and here were the 2011 winners
Sarah Palin
Glenn Beck
Bill O'Reilly
Ann Coulter
Michele Bachmann

In 2012 the fools kept on coming, and these were the 2012 winners.    For the first time I gave out a group award as well.

A group award for the Gendertrender radfem trans hate blog
Michelle Malkin
Dan Savage
Michael Savage
Chuck Knipp (AKA Shirley Q Liquor)

So who will take home a Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013?   When you get bored watching the Oscars, check out my blog at 8 PM CST to find out.

Shut Up Fool Awards 4th Anniversary

One of the features on this blog that you readers have come to know and love is my weekly Trans Shut Up Fool awards in which I shine a bright spotlight on hypocrisy, stupidity, and jaw dropping ignorance..

January 30, 2009 was the first time I selected a Shut Up Fool winner, and that week's first selection was Juan Williams

The weekly SUF feature has taken a life of its own and begat the Shut Up Fool of the Year Awards that I pass out on New Year's Eve and the upcoming Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Awards.

During Oscars weekend I select five people or groups and retire them from weekly SUF award consideration unless they do something so breathtakingly jacked up I just have to call them out on it.  .

I also thank those of you who hit me up on my FB page or send me e-mail with examples of fools I should highlight during the week that I may have missed.

happy anniversary, Shut Up Fool Awards.   As long as this blog exists and there are fools to call out, I'll be doing it every Friday without fail.

2012 Shut Up Fool Of The Year

It's New Year's Day for you folks on the other side of the International Date Line, but on my side of it we're 12 hours away in the US Central time zone from 2013's arrival..

One of the more popular features on my blog is the weekly Shut Up Fool Awards in which I shine a bright spotlight on the fool, fools or group of fools who deserve to be called out on their bull feces and jaw dropping unrepentant ignorance.

There are some folks however who did so repeatedly to the point they were consistently foolish over the calendar year.  Before y'all get your party on later tonight (or are recovering from your New Year's Eve partying) I want you to do so with the knowledge of who won the TransGriot 2012 Shut Up Fool of The Year Award.

Will it be former Rep. Allen West?  Mitt Romney?   Rep. Michele Bachmann?  Former Rep. Joe Walsh?  Rush Limbaugh?  Donald Chump Trump?  Rep Paul Ryan?  Rep Louie Gohmert?  Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL)?  Gov. Jan Brewer (R-AZ)?  Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX)?  Or will it be a group award for the first time for Fox Noise?  The Republican Party?   The Romney Campaign Team?

This year fool will join such winners as Michael Steele (2009), Sarah Palin (2010) and Herman Cain (2011).

The envelope please.

It was a tight race this year, but I have to give it to Willard Mitt Romney.  Thanks to you TransGriot readers for helping me sort it out and for the nominations.

Mittens was a long running WTF when it came to his latest presidential campaign run.  From his 47% comment, shamelessly contorting himself and proving he would do and say (or not say) anything to live at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, liking being able to fire people, pissing off our British cousins on the eve of the London Games during his international tour; playing himself during the second debate with President Obama, claiming Russia was our Number One geopolitical foe, having surrogates from Hades like John Sununu and after he got his butt kicked November 6, his son claiming he didn't want to be POTUS despite spending over a billion of his and other people's money for it.

Mitt took being a fool to new levels, and he did so in front of billions of people.

Our Shut Up Fool of the Year for 2012 is Mitt Romney.   Congratulations and Shut up Fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-My Fools Runneth Over Edition

Even though I'm on my way to New York for the GLAAD National POC Media Institute, it's still Friday, and that means I have to handle my usual business of determining what fool fools or group of fools deserved this week's award.

And as the title of this week's edition gives you a clue to, my fools runneth over this week so let's get to it shall we?

The Group nominations go to the Log Cabin Republicans, the Republican Party, Fox Noise, the conservafool movement, OPSEC, and the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Our individual ones go to Gretchen Carlson, Michelle Malkin,  R. Clarke Cooper,  Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus, Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Gov Rick Scott (R-FL), Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX),  Rep Kevin Yoder (R-KS), Artur Davis, Bryan Fischer, Dana Milbank, Mike Huckabee, Rep Steve King (R-IA) and Rep Allen West (R-FL)

Honorable mention this week goes to Lubbock County (TX) Judge Tom Head (R), who went on an unhinged rant full of visions of black helicopters and a UN invasion of Lubbock County if President Obama wins re-election.

“I’m thinking the worst,” Head told a local Fox Noise affiliate. “Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.”  If Obama wins, Head intoned, he’ll “hand over sovereignty of the United States to the UN.” and then call in United Nations troops to keep order.

Time to take my home state back from the Teabaggers.. .

This week has to go to Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO)  for his colossally stupid 'legitimate rape victims don't get pregnant' comment that set off a political firestorm and had major leaders in the GOP calling for him to drop out of the race, which he refused to do.

It also got Ann Coulter pissed off at him, had the batturd crazy GOP 'menz' rushing to defend him with even more colosally stupid and science defying remarks, exposed another side of VP nominee Paul Ryan as a general in the GOP War on Women, and may be the reason that embattled Sen Claire McCaskill (D-MO) keeps her seat

But enough, let's make it official.   Rep. Todd Akin, shut up Fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-Closing Olympic Weekend Edition

It was just two weeks ago that the world was eagerly awaiting the start of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.  After two weeks of competition, now we're approaching the final weekend of competition and (sniff, sniff) the closing ceremonies on Sunday.

It's Friday, and that means it's Shut Up Fool awards time.  It's time to determine what fool, fool or group of fools achieved gold, silver and bronze medal status for stupidity and ignorance.

Let's just go straight to the medal winners this week.

The bronze medal winner is Bryan Fischer, who made this ludicrously inaccurate attempt to call the Nazis liberals while discussing the recent Wisconsin Sikh Temple shooting involving a neo-Naz shooter..

Um Bryan, the reality is you conservafools and the Nazis are scarily alike in thought and political tactics.  Many of Hitler's speeches not only used religious imagery, but were staunchly anti communist, racist, misogynistic and attacked liberalism on a regular basis.

Just like y'all conservafools.    But here's a taste of one of Hitler's speeches from back in the day that i can easiy imagine a conservatie Republican politican uttering.  .

“Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith …we need believing people.”  Adolf Hitler,  April 26, 1933

The silver medal winner is Allegheny County, PA Republican party chairman Jim Roddey.  In the wake of a celebrating special election victory told a tasteless joke questioning the mental capacities of Obama supporters.

Hey y'all are the ones who have been for decades voting for the 1% peeps who screw you and falling for the okey doke that non-whites are 'taking your jobs'.   I think that calls your cognitive abilities into question, seeing that you've been voting against your own economic interests out of racial resentment for over 150 years.

The gold medal winner is Papa John's pizza founder John Schnatter, who not only is a big Romney supporter and hosted a fundraiser for him in may at his palatial Louisville home,  is hatin' on the Affordable Care Act so much he raised prices on his pizzas by 14 cents and tried to blame the price increase on the ACA

Yeah, right.  You can afford that big azz house in Da Ville, fat donations to Mittbot's campaign but can't pay for your 16,500 employees health care?

Shut up fools!

Shut Up Fool Awards-First Olympic Weekend Edition

Hard to believe that a week has passed since I was parked in front of the television along with the rest of the planet eagerly awaiting the start of the opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games.

This first week of competition from London has been a joy to watch.  With the athletics competition (track and field) starting today and many team events still moving toward medal round conclusions, we still have more thrilling Olympic memories, upsets, and joyful medal ceremonies to watch until August 17.

Then will come (sniff sniff) the closing ceremonies and we'll have to wait until the world gathers in Rio for the 2016 Summer Games.

While I've had my eyes on the marvelous sporting happenings and Olympic history taking place in jolly old England, it's also an election year in the States, it's Friday, and y'all know what I do at 12 noon CDT on these electronic pages.

Yep, it's time for this week's edition of the Shut Up Fool awards.  Since I'm feeling the Olympic spirit until the closing ceremonies of the Games happen and there are just so many fools to spotlight every week, I'm going to give out gold, silver and bronze level Shut Up Fool awards.

We had many contenders for these award ranging from Fox Noise, the Republican Party, Chick-Fil-A, Rep Trent Franks (R-AZ) , Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Stephen Marks, Eric Fehrnstrom, Rep Steve King (R-IA). Andrea Saul, Michael Steele, Ron Christie, Gretchen Carlson, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the 8 banned Olympic badminton contestants, Michel Morganella Voula Papachristou, .Mike Huckabee, R. Clarke Cooper, and Mitt Romney
.
So let's see who ended up on the top step of the Shut up Fool awards podium this week, shall we?

Our Shut Up Fool bronze medal goes to Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX)  He said the new Health & Human Services Department rule — which requires most employers to provide free birth control coverage in their health insurance policies — was like prohibiting Jews from worshiping on the Sabbath or banning communion.

I'm not gonna even waste any more bandwith on this fool.    Let's move on.

Our Shut Up Fool silver medal goes to Tennessee conservafool state representative Kelly Keisling (R) who forwarded an e-mail to his constituents with the latest conspiracy theory from the batturd crazy wing that claims President Obama is going to fake an assassination attempt on his life, and in the wake of that declare martial law in order to delay the November elections.

Dude, have you checked the polls lately?  He's winning.  Y'all wish the presidential election was being  delayed

Our Shut up Fool Gold Medal goes to Rep Mike Kelly (R-PA) . Kelly on Wednesday ridiculously equated the August first phase in of ACA women's healthcare mandates to terrorism and Pearl Harbor.

"I want you to remember August 1, 2012 — the attack on our religious freedom. That is a date that will live in infamy, along with those other dates."

Dude, 'religious freedom' doesn't mean you conservafools get to be a bigoted as you wanna be or force your belief systems on everybody else.

It means clear separation of church and state. If the Catholic Church wants to use federal tax dollars to fund its programs, then it is subject to federal laws period with no exceptions.

And besides, i hardly think that free mammograms, getting contraception and the other preventative health care that the Affordable Care Act ushers in is a date that live in infamy.   People lost lives during 9-11 and the Pearl Harbor attacks and it is disrespectful to those people's memories and their families that you would say some foul crap like that.

Rep. Mike Kelly, shut up Fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-Texans Training Camp Edition

The Summer Olympics opening ceremonies in London aren't the only sports related thing happening today.

NFL training camps for the upcoming 2012 season have been opening in various locations all around the country this week.   For us Houston area NFL junkies the road to a hoped for Super Bowl appearance in New Orleans for our defending AFC South champs starts with tomorrow's opening of Texans training camp over at their complex across the street from Reliant Stadium.

Just in case you TransGriot readers were curious about it, Michael Watts and I are planning to do our NFL pigskin prognostication battle once again for the upcoming 2012 NFL season.  If bloggers wish to join in on the fun let us know before mid-August.

But be warned, Mike and I tied for the regular season title last year, and I had to come from four games back to do it.   I want to win it this year.

Okay, now that I've gotten the football jibber-jabber out of the way, let's segue to what y'all really surfed over here to find out, who won this week's TransGriot Shut Up Fool Award

A usual, I had a long list of fools to choose from, starting with Fox Noise, the Romney Campaign, The Republican Party, Reince Priebus, Michael Steele, Michael Medved, Ron Christie, Gretchen Carlson,  Sean Hannity, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) , Gov Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Charles Krauthammer, Texas Tea Klux Kan senate candidate Ted Cruz and Newt Gingrich

Honorable mention number one goes to Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX)

Honorable mention number two goes to 2011 TransGriot Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Award winner Rep Michele Bachmann (R-MN).  I had to pull her out of retirement once again and call Bachmann out for her over the top Islamophobic race baiting of Huma Abedin.

This week's Shut Up Fool award goes to one of the strong contenders for the 2012 Shut Up Fool of the Year Award in Willard Mitt Romney.

He started off the week lying about the POTUS in a speech before the VFW and having an aide make the racist claim that the POTUS didn't understand the Anglo-Saxon ties between Great Britain and the United States.   Hello, y'all conservafools keep forgetting President Obama's mother Ann is white with English heritage and he's more Anglo-Saxon than you are, Willard.

Then Mitt gets to jolly old England and on his first day over there insults Prime Minister David Cameron, forgets the name of Labor leader Ed Millibrand, snubs the US press corps, makes an insulting comment about Britain's ability to host the Games that Prime Minister Cameron and London Mayor Boris Johnson called his azz out on, threw his wife Ann under the bus when questioned about the Olympic dressage horse Rafalca he got a $77,000 tax deduction on, and mentioned an MI6 meeting he needed to keep secret.

And oh yeah, did I mention that the British press is roasting his behind and calling him worse than Sarah Palin?

Mittbot still has Israel and Poland to visit on this trip that was meant to showcase his readiness to represent the USA on the foreign policy stage.   More like he's a not ready for prime time player and he's putting America in the embarrassing position of apologizing for him instead of the lie he tells at every campaign stop that the POTUS has been apologizing for America.

Instead of hearing Hail to the Chief he delusionally thinks should be played for him, this is the song more appropriate to Mitt Romney's visit to England. .

Mr T, Take it from here.  Mitt Romney....

Shut Up Fool Awards-2012 TTNS Edition

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm with my Houston and Texas rainbow crew and our allies getting my learn on at the UH-Clear Lake campus and reporting on the happenings for the 4th Annual Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit.

That post will come later today

But you longtime TransGriot readers know what happens at 12 PM CDT every Friday without fail.  It's Shut Up Fool! Awards time.   I take a moment to shine a bright spotlight on the fool fool or group of fools that have said or done something so monumentally stupid that I got to call them out on it

This week's SUF nominees are in our group category, the Republican Party, The Texas Republican Party, Fox Noise, The Drudge Report, Chik Reicher-Fil-A, the NRA and the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.

Our individual nominees are Dan Cathy, Cathy Brennan, Mitt Romney, Sean Hannity, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-OH), Ron Paul, Jimmie JJ Walker, John Sununu, Joe Arpaio, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Megyn Kelly, James O'Keefe, Greta Van Susteren and Ed Gillsepie

Honorable mention goes to Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll (R) who has never heard of the term lipstick lesbian and seems to think that attractive Black women don't engage in 'relationships like that'  that in many cases are longer than her 29 year marriage.

Honorable mention number two goes to Rep. Michele Bachmann  (R-MN) , who I had to pull out of 2011 SUF Lifetime Achievement Award hibernation for her attempt to smear Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin that she's apparently doubled down on.

Oh well, being a vanillacentric privileged conservafool means you never back down on the Islamophobic bigotry, no matter how stupid and ignorant it makes you look.   It's so bad even Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is crying foul on this.

But this week's winner is George Zimmerman, who went on Fox Noise to proclaim that it was 'God's plan for me to kill Trayvon Martin", and he wouldn't do anything differently if he had a do over.

Really?  God's plan?   What god condones the killing of an unarmed 17 year old African-American teenager?  Conservagod?

Hope it's in God's plan to have a jury of your peers convict your trifling ass and send it to prison where you'll be ducking and dodging a bunch of incarcerated pissed off brothers who would like to do unto you what you did to Trayvon Martin.

And the possibility you may be an alleged child molester on top of that only will heightens their desire to hand jailhouse justice to you.

All together TransGriot readers:  George Zimmerman, shut up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- July Friday The 13th Edition

It's a scary day for some peeps when it pops up on the calendar while other take it in stride as just another Friday.

But Friday the 13rh for some people brings apprehension . .

This Friday the t13th brings something else, another round of nominations for my weekly TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards.

This Friday we're going to discover what fool, fool or group of fools, exhibited spine-tingling ignorance and displayed a frightening grasp of unrepentant stupidity..

All right, let's get busy shall we?

This week's group nominations went to the Republican Party, Fox Noise, and The Texas GOP,

Our individual nominees were GOP chair Reince Priebus, Mitt Romney, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) , Sen Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Gov. Tom Corbett (R-PA), Gov Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Gov Chris Christioe (R-NJ), Sen Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Gov Rick Scott (R-FL),

Honorable mention goes to Ted Nugent for is comment that the US would have been better off if the South had won the Civil War.

Um, not no but Hu-ell no it wouldn't have.  .  They lost 150 years ago Ted, and you and your Confederate flag waving 'state's rights' loving NRAoid chickenhawk friends need to get over it.   I plan to have a serious party on April 9, 2015.   BTW that's the day he Confederacy surrendered.

Our winner this week is Rep Allen West (R-FL)   This cookie chomping knee-grow not only is battling Mitt Romney for 2012 Shuit Up Fool of the Year honors, but predictably parted his lips to say something else jaw droppingly stupid by claiming the president wan to to make all Americans his slaves.

Thank God the elections are a little more than 110 days from now.

Allen West, (Mr T. take it from here)

Shut Up Fool Awards-NAACP Convention Weekend Edition

The 103rd Annual NAACP  Convention will be taking place in my hometown starting tomorrow through July 12.

It should be an interesting and in may cases start studded affair as our community's legacy civil rights org meets at the George R. Brown convention Center. with many of our local political leaders from Mayor Annise Parker to Congressmembers Al Green and Sheila Jackson Lee participating

Gospel singer Yolanda Adams, who is also a native Houston will be part of the long line of entertainers performing during the event as well that concludes on July 12.  And since this NAACP convention is occurring during a presidential election year, Mitt version 2012 will be speaking at it, so i can probably count on his saying something jacked up enough to get him a nomination for next week's Shut Up Fool awards.

So let's move on to earned this week's SUF award since it's Friday and I know that what y'all surfed over here to find out or left me nominations for.

In the group category it was the Republican party, Fox Noise, the TS separatists, the rad fems phlegms and the Texas Republican Party for their jacked up platform, The NRA, , the Washington Times, the Drudge Report and the Daily Caller.

The individual nods went to Michelle Malkin, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Ann Romney, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Eric Fehrnstrom, Gretchen Carlson, Megyn Kelly,   Sen Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Dr Keith Ablow and Joe 'The Plumber' Wurtzelbacher

Honorable mention goes to Rep Allen West (R-FL) for the off the deep end comment that the POTUS wants to make us his slaves

This week's runaway winner is the Tea Klux Klan's favorite congressional deadbeat dad in Rep Joe Walsh (R-IL).   Rep Walsh unleashed more cowardly hateraid at Lt. Colonel Tammy Duckworth this week in a attack reminiscent of what Sen Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) did to then sitting senator and Vietnam vet Max Cleland (D-GA) .

Walsh's no serving ass had the nerve to part his lips and disparage Lt. Col Duckworth's 20 years of distinguished service to our nation and claim that a woman who lost two legs, the use of one arm as a helicopter pilot in Iraq, has a Purple heart and other military medals, still serves in the Illinois National Guard and served in the Obama Administration as the Deputy Secretary of the Veteran's Administration  isn't a hero.

Really?  In what conservafool alternate universe?   If Duckworth  had an 'R' behind her name you conservafools would be rubbing her in our faces and she'd be on Fox Noise and conservafool talk radio ad nauseum.

Walsh waited until Duckworth was doing her Illinois National Guard service to challenge her to a debate, and has continued to double and triple down on this reprehensible line of attack.   This chickenhawk who is $162,000 behind of his child support doesn't have the standing to part his lips and utter one word at Lt. Col Duckworth, much less President Obama

Rep Joe Walsh, shut the HELL up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- Heat Beats Thunder Edition

Well, after five games, it's over.  The Miami Heat taught the younglings from Oklahoma City how to play championship basketball and closed out the NBA Finals with a resounding 121-106 thumping of the Thunder to close out the series 4-1 and claim their second NBA championship in franchise history.

The other person who is happy this series is over besides the cities of Miami and Seattle is USA Men's Olympic basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski

And yes, it's Friday, so you know what that means.  It's time for Moni to dish out this week's edition of the TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards.   Time for everyone to discover who exhibited championship level stupidity and ignorance this week and shine a bright spotlight on it.

Group nominations went to GOProud, the Republican Party, the NRA, and Fox Noise.   individual nods went to Rep. Allen West (R-FL) Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) , Sen John Cornyn (R-TX)  Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)  Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)  Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Tucker Carlson, Eric Boehlert, Rep Dan Burton (R-IN)  Rep John Mica (R-FL), Jerry Sandusky. Mitt Romney, Karl Rove, Monica Crowley and Ted Nugent

Honorable Mention goes to congressional car thief Darrell Issa (R-CA) for pimping a partisan witch hunt and bogus contempt of congress citation aimed at Atty General Eric Holder whose only crimes are successfully doing his job enforcing the 1965 Voting Rights Act against the Republican's racist Voter ID suppression laws and being a Black man in that position.   And you wonder why African-Americans have contempt not only for the Republicans in Congress, but your party as well.

Honorable Mention number two goes to Michigan state Speaker James Bolger (R) and Michigan state majority leader James Stamas (R) for banning state Rep Lisa Brown (D) for saying 'vagina' on the House floor during a debate on a bill pimping reproductive rights restrictions and Rep Barb Bynum (D) for referring to vasectomies during the same floor debate..   The conservafools were too cowardly to tell Reps Brown and Bynum to their face they'd banned them but that par for the neofascist course for them.   That triggered a performance of The Vagina Monologues on the steps of the Michigan state capitol building overseen by play creator Eve Ensler in Lansing Monday night featuring Brown, Bynum and other female Michigan state legislators..

The Shut Up Fool award for this week goes to Wisconsin GOP US senate candidate Eric Hovde, who is sick and tired of media writing sob stories about the poor.   Please, Tammy Baldwin, kick his azz November 6 so I can gleefully read a sob story about his conservacruel behind losing.

Eric Hovde, shut up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- Father's Day Weekend Edition

Father's Day is this Sunday, where we pause and think about the Dads in our lives or the ones who are no longer here and how they shaped our lives.   For my brother it's special because my niece just celebrated her first birthday on June 13.

Today is Friday, and you loyal TransGriot readers know what that means.   It's time for another edition of my weekly Shut Up Fool Awards, where we shine a bright spotlight on the fool fool or group of fools that need to be called out on their ignorance and stupidity.

This week we had the usual bumper crop of idiots, starting with Mitt Romney, Eric Boehlert, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Sen Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Gov Rick Scott (R-FL) Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX) Sen John Cornyn (R-TX) and group awards for Fox News, the Rad fems, the Arkansas Tea Party and the Republican Party.

Honorable mention goes to Chad Holley, who after getting beat down by the Houston po-po's for being arrested for committing a robbery and getting probation for it which expired in April because a tape surfaced of the beatdown which led to the firing of the four cops involved and trials for official oppression of which one got off, complicated matters iin the remaining trials Wednesday by getting his azz arrested in northwest Harris County for breaking in houses with some knuckleheads.

This week's Shut Up Fool award goes to conservafool pastor Terry Jones, who is back in the news not for burning Korans this time, but for hanging an effigy of President Obama in front of his 'church'

When the Secret Service came knocking he hurried up and changed it to a different effigy still holding a rainbow flag in protest of the POTUS' evolution on marriage, but too late for him not to avoid getting the honors this week and Secret Service scrutiny.

Terry Jones, shut up fool.

Shut Up Fool Awards-Moni's Delayed Netroots Nation Edition

Due to technical difficulties not of my own making, my usual Friday Shut Up Fool post was disrupted this week and I had to wait to post it on Saturday when I got back to Houston.

So without further ado, this week's Shut Up Fool Award is an easy one.  It goes to the Nashville, TN based Uniguest internet monitoring system that was installed at my Netroots Nation hotel's computer in Providence, Rhode Island.

I was unable to access TransGriot on the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown's computer after writing an initial post on it announcing my arrival in Providence at 6:26 AM EDT on June 6 with no problems or issues .
My plan was to give you readers posts chronicling my thoughts as those days events unfolded and my take on the convention.  That plan went out the window because some Rad Fem Borg drone (or somebody else) had a problem with my post announcing that the Conway Hall venue that was supposed to host the July London rad fem conference was backing out due to concerns about violations of Britain's Equality Act and the hateful transphobic rhetoric coming from keynote speaker Sheila Jeffreys and company.

I suspect a rad fem because the hotel computer browser history indicated somebody read radfem hub that day.

So why was TransGriot blocked?  According to Uniguest it was for the word 'hatemonger'.  Interesting coincidence that the most recent post with that word in it is talking about the radfems being called on their transphobic bigotry.

I was frustrated and angry that at one of the biggest progressive blogging conferences in the nation I was attending for the first time, my ability to blog about my experiences on TransGriot was thwarted by some BS. I was also pissed about the inability of the staff over the time I was a guest in that hotel from June 6 when I first brought it to their attention to June 9 to satisfactorily rectify the situation.

Really Uniguest?   The word hatemonger is enough to block a website?    Shut up fools!.

Shut Up Fool Awards-Doughnut Day Edition

As I mentioned in an earlier post, today is National Doughnut Day, and yes, I took my opportunity this morning to enjoy my free extra one at the Shipley's down the street from me..

But this Friday is also the day I reserve to shine a bright spotlight on the fools, fools or group of fools that inhabit our work and poke holes in the specious logic and lies

So let's get to it.  Our group nominees were the Rad Fems, Fox Noise, The Republican Party and the Tea Party Tea Klux Klan.   The individual nominees were Mitt Romney, Gretchen Carlson, Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Peter Hoekstra, S.E.Cupp, Michael Medved, Gov. Paul LePage (R-ME), Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL)

The first honorable mention this week goes to the parents of the six year old who is singing a little hate the gays ditty in his Indiana church to the cheers of the congregation and a audible shout of "That's my boy.".

With parents and a homophobic church like that, I hope and pray that kid doesn't turn out to be a rainbow family member, but it would be delicious karma wise.

Our second honorable mention goes to Donald Trump Chump for doubling down on the birtherism and making an ass out of himself again.

Our third honorable mention goes to Jay Townsend, spokeperson for Rep Nan Hayworth (R-NY) who was providing evidence that the GOP is nothing more than the American Taliban with this comment aimed at Democratic female senators.

But enough jibber-jabber as Mr. T would say.   This week's Shut Up Fool award.winner is Seneca, Kansas hate pastor Curtis Knapp who also decided to channel his inner Nazi and advocate from the pulpit a Final Solution to the gay problem

Wow...really getting sick of the faith based haters and evil (yeah I said it) Teapublifools.  It also points out the fact this election is literally for the heart and soul of our nation.  It's why they need to be beaten and utterly crushed at the polls November 6.

Oh yeah.  Curtis Knapp (not even giving you the courtesy of being called reverend after that little genocidal diatribe) shut the HELL up fool.

Shut Up Fool Awards- 2012 Memorial Day Weekend Edition

Memorial Day is coming up on Monday, and it is considered in the States the official start of the summer season even though we won't officially be in it until June 21.  The real reason we celebrate Memorial Day in the United Sates is to remember all members of the armed forces who have died in war defending our nation.

One of the things those gallant members of the armed forces gave their lives for in addition to protecting our nation from foreign and domestic enemies is the freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution.

And considering the levels of stupidity that have been witnessed in this country ever since the historic election of President Obama in 2008, the numbers of domestic enemies have exponentially increased along with their levels of stupidity.
.
And that's where I come in along with your help, loyal TransGriot readers.  Every Friday we gather here to shed a bright spotlight on the stupidity and ignorance running amok in our nation.   Sometimes in certain weeks it's so off the chain that I need help from y'all to properly call it out.

Unfortunately this was one of those weeks for off the charts stupidity.

Our nominees for this week's award are the Group nominations for NOM, the Republican Party, the radfems, the Republican Women's Caucus, and Fox Noise.

The individual nominations are for Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI) , Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Rep Mike Coffman (R-CO), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Newark mayor Cory Booker (D), Sean Hannity, Eric Boehlert, Joe 'The Plumber' Wurtzelbacher, Roger Ailes, Colin Quinn, Eric Boehlert, Gretchen Carlson, Rep. Phil Broun (R-GA), Bishop Bigot Harry Jackson  and Geraldo Rivera

Honorable Mention goes to Alveda King for this comment slamming the NAACP board resolution that after she got called out for it, she walked it back.

“Neither my great-grandfather, an NAACP founder, my grandfather Dr. Martin Luther King Sr., an NAACP leader, my father Rev. A. D. Williams King, nor my uncle Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. embraced the homosexual agenda that the current NAACP is attempting to label as a civil rights agenda. In the 21st century, the anti-traditional marriage community is in league with the anti-life community, and together with the NAACP and other sympathizers, they are seeking a world where homosexual marriage and abortion will supposedly set the captives free.”

Did you forget your late Aunt Coretta would have a better idea where your Uncle Martin stood on those issues, much less was friends with iconic Black gay leader Bayard Rustin?

It also deserved this distinguished award as well for your ongoing efforts in coonery, buffonery and selling out to the conservafool movement and disgracing your uncle's legacy.   Your Uncle Martin is not a conservafool, so stop trying to peddle that lie and sit yo' azz down somewhere.

This week's Shut Up Fool Award goes to NC hate preacher and waste of DNA Charles Worley.  You just can't top calling for the genocide of 10% of the American population in a Sunday sermon and your parishioners thinking it's okay.

Charles Worley, shut the HELL up fool.

Shut Up Fool Awards-Rooting For Jenna Edition

The Miss Canada Universe pageant crowning is tomorrow night, and here's hoping Jenna Talackova makes some history for #girlslikeus in Toronto.  The prelims were last night and the personal interview phase is today to determine the 20 women that will compete in tomorrow's final.

If we had gotten busy and voted for Jenna in the People's Choice Award that I and others posted links to and she'd won it, Jenna would have automatically moved on to the 20 semifinalists.

But in hindsight, if she makes it to the semifinals, it will be due to her own efforts and temporarily shut up the critics that she didn't deserve to be in this competition.

But as I wrote earlier this week, even if she doesn't walk out of Toronto tomorrow night, she's already won  by breaking that glass ceiling for young transwomen who dream of competing in a major pageant.

Well, it's Friday, and it's time to discover who won the crown this week for exhibiting world class stupidity and ignorance.

Our nominees for this week's Shut Up Fool are group awards for the radfems, Fox Noise, and the Republican Party.  The individuals nominated by moi and TransGriot readers are Roger Schafly, Bishop Bigot Harry Jackson, Mitt Romney, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA),  Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA), Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Manny Pacquiao, joe Ricketts, Chelsea Handler and Bristol Palin.

Honorable Mention goes to Ben Stein for his racist comment slamming the POTUS intelligence

“I would say (Obama’s) a smart man. I mean, he’s not in the same league of presidential genius as Nixon, for example, but he’s smarter than the average bear, as they say.”

That's mighty white of you Ben Stein.   The POTUS graduated from Columbia and magna cum laude from Harvard Law.   He's smarter than your conservafool behind..

Another Honorable Mention goes to
John Derbyshire, who ever since he's was kicked to the curb by the National Review has let his white sheet show.

This week's winner goes to noted Houston defense attorney Dick DeGuerin, who helped former HPD officer Andrew Blomberg get off from a videotaped beating an African-American suspect in front of an all white jury.

He
claimed "it is not and was not a racial thing." but said about the predominately non-white peeps pointing out the melanin free jury  "It's been made into that by others for their own reasons."

When he was asked according to the Chronicle article why there weren't any blacks or other ethnic minorities on the jury, DeGuerin said most of the African-Americans in the jury pool had already made up their minds that Blomberg was guilty.

Oh really?  And the whites in that jury pool didn't have their minds made up that Blomberg was innocent?

Dick DeGuerin, shut up fool

Shut Up Fool Awards-Mother's Day Weekend Edition

Mother's Day is this Sunday, and I must take a moment to not only wish all you moms who read TransGriot a happy one, but all you peeps who act as mother figures in someone's life.

Thanks for all you do to keep your families together

It's Friday, so y'all know what that means.

It's Shut Up Fool! award time.  It's time to shine a bright spotlight on the fool, fool or group of fools who need to be called out this week.

This weeks nominees are in the group category the Republican Party, the Log Cabin Republicans Sellouts and Fox Noise.

The individual nominees are Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Franklin Graham, Billy Graham, Tony Perkins, Rep Paul Ryan (R-WI), Gov Scott Walker (R-WI), Gretchen Carlson, Michelle Malkin, Jamie Dimon (CEO of JP Morgan), Mitt (Da Bully) Romney, Rick Santorum, Hennepin County, MN DA Michael Freeman, and the Rev Dr. Robert Jeffress.

Honorable mention goes to Bristol Palin, who has the nerve to slam same gender marriage, the POTUS and Malia and Sasha Obama while she can't even stay in a relationship with her baby daddy.

Another honorable mention goes to that knee-grow cookie chomping sellout Jesse Lee Peterson for his steaming pile of fail in which he opines that women should have never been given the right to vote among other things.

Dayum, thought Uncle Ruckus only existed in the Boondocks cartoons

But this week's winner is a group award to the 61% percent of the North Carolina electorate who allowed themselves to be hoodwinked, bamboozled and motivated by their hatred of LGBT people into stripping the human rights of their fellow Tarheels by voting for the unjust Amendment One.

I'm surprised they didn't create a hologram of Jesse Helms to use in the pro-Amendment One campaign.

It also means that since 1998, same gender marriage when put to a vote has a 0-32 record.

What can I say about that BS that hasn't been said already?   Well, here we go..

This is the last gasp of the Dixiecrats.  Unfortunately this loss is causing pain for people I know in the state, the team of people who fought mightily to keep this jacked up amendment out of the North Carolina constitution and LGBT residents of it like blogger Pam Spaulding and her spouse, and the straight couples who are now just finding out they are getting screwed by it too.

This is only a temporary setback.  The trend lines and polling are favoring same gender marriage.  So is the moral arc of history and the actuarial tables.

North Carolina Amendment One 61% Voters, shut up fools.
