The NCAA men's and women's tournaments whittle down from the Sweet Sixteen to the Elite Eight as they determine what four schools will eventually head to New Orleans and Denver to play for the NCAA men's and women's b-ball championships.
And yes, Brittney Griner became the second woman to dunk in an NCAA tournament game.
So how are your brackets holding up? Already lost one of my Final Four teams on the mens bracket but the other three are still alive for now. On the women's bracket all four are still around.
So let's get to our usual Friday business of calling out the fool, fools or groups of fools who exhibited championship level stupidity this week worthy of receiving the Shut Up Fool award.
Group awards for Fox Noise, the Republican Party, the Tea Party and every male Republican legislator trying to defend the GOP War on Women. Individual nominees are Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep Joe Walsh (R-IL) Rep Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Rep Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Rick Santorum, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH)
But this week's Shut Up Fool award goes to Geraldo Rivera for parting his lips to say that the hoodie was just as responsible for the murder of Trayvon Martin as George Zimmerman.
…when you see a black or Latino youngster, particularly on the
street, you walk to the other side of the street. You try to avoid that
confrontation. Trayvon Martin, you know God bless him, he was an
innocent kid, a wonderful kid, a box of Skittles in his hands. He didn’t
deserve to die. But I’ll bet you money, if he didn’t have that hoodie
on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn’t have responded in that
violent and aggressive way.
Geraldo, you've been hanging around your Fox Noise friends for far too long. Racism and racial profiling was responsible for Trayvon's murder, not the clothing he was wearing. Oh by the way, white kids wear hoodies too and sometimes they even commit crimes while wearing them as well.
Geraldo Rivera, shut up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- Spring Break Is Almost Over Edition
It has been spring break week for all the schoolkids here in Houston and elsewhere. All the kids are enjoying their week of freedom from the classroom. If they aren't taking a road trip, sleeping in late in the morning, going to the movies, the park, the beach. the zoo or just chilling out at home, they are exploring the museums and other assorted outings ..or driving their parents nuts.
Speaking of driving us nuts, it's time to segue into our weekly Shut Up Fool awards business and determine what fool or group of fools will take home this week's coveted award.
Our nominees this week are our usual group awards for the Republican Party and last week's winner Fox Noise. Ron Paul gets a nod, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Sen. James Imhofe (R-OK), Gov Rick Perry (R-TX) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX),
Our SUF winner this week is the Sweater Vest South, Rick Santorum
While pandering for votes in Puerto Rico he offered up this loud and wrong comment in a Wednesday newspaper interview about statehood for the island
“As in any other state, you have to comply with this and any federal law. And that is that English has to be the main language. There are other states with more than one language as is the case in Hawaii, but to be a state in the United States, English has to be the main language.”
No Ricky boy, English is NOT mandated as a condition for statehood. It is also not mandated by federal law as our official language either.
There the Republifools go again, outreaching their way to defeat.
Rick Santorum, shut up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards- Championship Week 2012 Edition
March Madness is about to kick off for both the men's and women's collegiate basketball teams. But right now the conference championship tournaments are transpiring
through this weekend that will determine the automatic bids for the 2012 NCAA tournament.
For the rest of the month of March college basketball junkies around the nation will be wrapped up in watching which teams end up in Denver for the Women's Final Four or the Superdome in New Orleans the Men's Final Four playing for NCAA titles.
As per TransGriot tradition, once the Selection Sunday and Monday shows happen setting up the regions and teams in the tournament and who is playing where, I'll put my men's and women's NCAA brackets up for all you TransGriot readers to see (and pick apart)
Speaking of picking things apart, that's my cue to segue into our usual Friday business of seeing what fool, fool or group o fools exhibited championship level stupidity and ignorance this week worthy of receiving a Shut Up Fool Award.
As usual I had many worthy contenders for this week's SUF Awards and some honorable mentions this week I'll get to later. Group award nominations go to the Republican Party, Clear Channel Communications, and NOM. The individual ones go to Gov Bob McDonnell (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Gretchen Carlson, Eric Boehlert, the late Andrew Breitbart, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum
Honorable mention to Rush Limbaugh for digging an even deeper hole of dlusion in his attacks on Sandra Fluke.
This week Shut Up Fool Award is a group one for Fox Noise. Whether they are caught flip flopping on their own positions about high gas prices, backing Rush up in his attacks on Sandra Fluke, pimping the right wing agenda 24 -7, or trying to push a racist meme that he's a 'dangerous left wing radical' based on a few minutes of old video of the future POTUS speaking at a Harvard University rally on behalf of the late Professor Derrick Bell, they were in rare form this week and richly deserve this award
FoxNews Noise, shut up fools!.

Shut Up Fool Awards- A Good Week For Moni Edition
As you TransGriot readers are aware of, I've had a wonderful week full of blessings to close out February and begin the month of March on a high note.
There was the speech at the University of Arizona on Tuesday with the article in the UA Daily Wildcat that preceded my arrival on campus. While I was traveling back to IAH I had the 3.5 millionth visitor surf by the blog and got to see a few of my old CAL coworkers when I arrived back at the airport And on Wednesday discovered that the post I'd written for EBONY.com has been posted to wonderful reviews and a lot of positive messages to me about it still coming in.
Now if that Powerball ticket I bought yesterday hits, it's going to be a REALLY good week.
Now that I'm coming in for a landing from being on Clouds 9,10 11 and 12 about achieving a major writing goal, time to get back to my usual Friday business of lambasting the fool, fools or group of fools in our midst.
It's time for our weekly Shut Up Fool Awards.
There were a bumper crop of them for me to choose from such as Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Group awards for the 48 senators that voted for the Blunt Amendment (45 Republicans, 3 Democrats), the 4 Republican female senators who voted for that amendment, The Academy for nominating The Help for Best Picture, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), one for the late Andrew Breitbart and Fox Noise.
Honorable mention goes to 2009 SUF Lifetime Achievement Award winner Rush Limbaugh who is obviously on the OxyContinin again. He opened his mouth and viciously slandered Georgetown student Sandra Fluke (I'll spare y'all the video)
But this week's winner is US District Judge for Montana Richard Cebull. The George W Bush appointee (it figures) sent a racist e-mail about the POTUS from his courtroom chambers on his official courthouse account.
As for what Judge Cebull had to say about it? The usual conservafool defense when they get caught doing racist bull feces.
You're not racist? Yeah, right. Your action in sending that e-mail demonstrated it. You're only sorry as usual like other conservafools disrespecting President Obama that you got caught. .
It's these constant bigot eruptions you vanillacentric conservapeeps have on an almost daily basis that keep us people of color voting Democratic and ensure that the vast majority of us never fall for the conservastupidity.
But back to chewing on Judge Cebull. You need to be impeached for that crap since you just signaled to the country and the world with your nekulturny behavior that a person of color will not get a fair shake in your Ninth Circuit courtroom.
Judge Richard Cebull, shut up fool!

"The only reason I can explain it to you is I am not a fan of our president, but this goes beyond not being a fan," Cebull said. "I didn't send it as racist, although that's what it is. I sent it out because it's anti-Obama."
Cebull said he does not consider himself prejudiced against people of other races or ethnic backgrounds, and that his actions in his courtroom have demonstrated that.
You're not racist? Yeah, right. Your action in sending that e-mail demonstrated it. You're only sorry as usual like other conservafools disrespecting President Obama that you got caught. .
