Shut Up Fool Of The Year Coming Soon!

There's still time to get those nominations to me for the 2011 Shut Up Fool Of The Year. 

Still pondering what fool or groups of fools showed consistent stupidity and ignorance throughout the year in order to garner this coveted award.  

I have some ideas about the people who are in the running for it like Herman Cain, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) just to name a few, but I'm looking for some candidates I might have overlooked.

Just get their names to be before the30th.   The big announcement will happen on New Year's Eve.

Shut Up Fool Awards- Happy Holiday Weekend Edition

Happy Holidays TransGriot readers!  We are several days into Hanukkah which started on the 20th, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will happen tomorrow and Sunday and Kwanzaa starts on Monday.

If you're west of the International Date Line it's Christmas Eve for you already

But my ongoing mission of finding this week's.fool, fools or group of fools for our illustrious TransGriot Shut Up Fool award never takes a day off.   And before I get my grub on and open my Christmas gifts I must send you into your holidays secure in the knowledge that you know who won this week's award.

So let's do this shall we?

This week's nominees are Group awards for the Westboro Baptist Church, the House Republicans, the Lowell Sun newspaper in Massachusetts and Fox Noise, Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Jeremy Shockey, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Marcus Bachmann, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), Gov Chris Christie (R-NJ), Ron Paul, and Rep Allen West (R-FL)

Honorable mentions go to Cassie Wright, the new bigot in charge of the University of Texas College Republicans and Tea Klux Klanner  Jules Manson

This week's winner however is Rep. James Sensenbrennner (R-WI)

He's been spending a lot of time obsessing about First Lady Michelle Obama's derrière.  He was overheard ranting in a DCA airport lounge about how she “lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”

At a Christmas service at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Hartford, WI he repeated the comment.  Sensenbrenner stated to the assembled parishioners, “And Michelle Obama, her project is obesity. And look at her big butt.”

News flash for you Rep. Sensenbrenner.  Black women have curves.  The First Lady is 5'11" and not even close to being obese so you can chill with that false GOP talking point.  .

You conservafools are just hatin' because the FLOTUS is all that and four bags of Jay's potato chips.

You and your GOP buddies wish y'all had women in your overly vanillacentric ranks with her combination of statuesque beauty and brains that the world admires and looks up to.

Don't hate, it lessens you.

Shut Up Fool Awards: Renee's Recovering, Eh! Edition

As many of you who read Womanist Musings know, Renee's battling a nasty flu bug courtesy of Mayhem who was waylaid by it first and passed the unwanted present to everybody in the house.

Had a chance to talk to her the other night, and she wanted me to pass on to everybody in the blogosphere that she's alive and fighting the flu bug off.

She hoped to be feeling good enough to be fighting the good fight through the electronic pages of Womanist Musings as soon as she feels well enough to do so.

So this weeks search for our Shut Up Fool Award winner is dedicated to my fave north of the border blogger

As usual we had a bumper crop of fools competing for this week's award.   Honorable mention goes to Bill O'Reilly for getting his draws in a bunch and using his Fox Noise platform to attack little Elijah who told Michelle Bachmann at a recent public appearance that his lesbian mommy didn't need fixing.

A second honorable mention award goes to Rick Perry.for his jacked up anti-gay comments that have gone viral.

Our other nominees were Gretchen Carlson, Eric Bolling, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, group award for Fox Noise, Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), former Macy's employee Natalie Johnson, group awards for WorldNetDaily, the Republican Party, and Pat Robertson  

For this week's Shut Up Fool winners we go Down Under for the first time and give them to Sydney's 2Day FM DJ's Kyle Sandilands and his co-host Jackie O.  

Just one day after the TDOR concluded, Sandilands was on the air November 21 on his AM show asking this transphobic question to a caller.

I’ve fallen madly in love with a tranny from a nightclub in Vegas… I have asked you to be the best man at this filthy little Vegas chapel. What do you do to stop me marrying the tranny?”

The caller dumbly responded: “You gotta for sure drug her, and get rid of… actually I have a better idea… [caller bleeped] Get rid of her! We kill her.”



And what was the sheila doing?   Jackie O was busy laughing at the comment.   

Oh well,.at least the caller didn't misgender us in this hypothetical situation (sarcasm meter on maximum)  

But it's just another example of the transphobic hate we're getting all over the world for the holidays.  At least my Aussie transpeople and the rest of us around the planet have the satisfaction of watching your show lose advertisers at a precipitous rate.

And oh yeah, Shut up fools!
