Shut Up Fool Awards-Halloween Weekend Edition

It's getting close to the end of October, and that means girls and ghouls all over the country will be descending on your doorsteps on October 31 in search of candy.   For those of us in the trans community, Halloween has a different meaning as the Trans National Holiday.

But before we get to discussing the Trans National Holiday and how much I'm going to miss walking down Hillcrest Avenue in Da Ville, it's Friday, and time for me to focus on what fool, fool or group of fools exhibited a frightening lack of brain cells and scary amounts of stupidity.

The nominees for this week's Shut Up Fool! award are Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich,  a group nomination for Fox Noise, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Pat Buchanan, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Ron Paul.

But this week's Shut Up Fool! winner is Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) who came out of his undisclosed location to attack President Obama for sowing as he said in a speech to the conservafool Heritage Foundation “fear and envy” with his “divisive” call for raising taxes on the wealthy by a few percentage points.

“He is going from town to town, impugning the motives of Republicans, setting up straw men and scapegoats, and engaging in intellectually lazy arguments, as he tries to build support for punitive tax hikes on job creators,” Rep.Ryan said

Project much Paul?   The only 'intellectually lazy arguments' happening here are the one flying between your flapping gums.  We in the 99% of America are tired of the treats you pass out to the 1% while we get the tricks.  Even your own constituents in Wisconsin have slammed you for being a class warrior for the wealthy.   Don't even get me started about the many ways you Republifools have been 'divisive'.

That would take me another post or two to compile them.

Thank God Election Day 2012 is 13 months from now on November 6, 2012.

Rep. Paul Ryan, shut up Fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-UH Homecoming Weekend Edition

Eat 'em up, Eat 'em up, Rah Rah Rah!

It's homecoming weekend at my alma mater and my favorite undefeated and nationally ranked collegiate football team takes on the Marshall Thundering Herd tomorrow at the Rob.

It should be sold out by the time the game kicks off at 3:30 PM CDT and we Cougar fans are hoping we get one step closer to a perfect BCS busting season, a BCS bowl berth and membership in the Big East Conference in 2013 with UH President and chancellor Renu Khator and AD Mack Rhoades headed to New York for meetings with Big East officials..

But still too early for that.   To paraphrase a line from the late Al Davis, just win Cougars!

And now we'll move on from college football UH style to my normal Friday business on these electronic pages, the weekly TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards    Every week I shine a spotlight on the fool, fools or group of fools who deserve to be given an 'F' in common sense and an 'A' for stupidity and ignorance.

The nominees this week were Willard ''Mitt' Romney, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Rep Eric Cantor (R-VA), Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), a Fox Noise group nomination, Rep. Allen West (R-FL), Gretchen Carlson and Pat Buchanan.

But our runaway winner this week was former Pennsylvania senator and current 2012 GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

First he tried to justify his homophobia by trying to compare himself to Abraham Lincoln and in the same breath compare same gender marriage to slavery. (megafail) .

I'm not going to even dignify that with a rant even though I should.   Then he pledged to ban government funding of contraceptives and said 'Sex should only be for procreation."

Really Rick?  And how many girls did you make out with in the back seat of cars or your dorm room in college?

Rick Santorum, shut the HELL up fool!

Shut Up Fool Awards-Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend Edition

It's the first Friday in October, and one of the things I'm loving is that the temps are finally starting to cool down here in H-town to the 70's and 80's range for daytime highs and cooling off at night.

In other words, we're having LA weather days right now minus the smog.

But for my Canadian readers, it's Thanksgiving weekend.  You peeps in the Great White North are about to get your grub on Monday and be thankful for the bountiful blessings you received this year.   Down south we get to do our turkey and stuffing feasting in seven weeks.

Speaking of turkeys, that's a nice segue into our weekly business of finding the fool, fools or group of fools that deserve to be carved up for our Shut Up Fool Award honors.

Since this is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend edition, I'm going to select two this week, one US fool and one Canadian fool since stupidity and ignorance is a universal language.   So let me cut out the jibber jabber and start by announcing the Shut Up Fool! award, US Division this week.

This week's fool in a landslide is Hank Williams, Jr.  You won't be hearing him sing 'Are You Ready For Some Football?' before the ESPN Monday Night Football telecasts any more because he put his conservafoot in his mouth on  Fox Noise Monday morning.

Williams said this summer's so-called golf summit between President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) as "one of the biggest political mistakes ever."

Williams said on Fox & Friends: "It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu."   When asked on Fox to explain his analogy, Williams said Obama and Vice President Biden are "the enemy."

Williams has expressed interest in running for a US Senate seat next year in Tennessee.  Hope you remember that there are double digit percentages of African-Americans who live in your state and don't exactly like it when you disrespect a president who looks like us.

And oh yeah, we vote too.  That's probably why you gave that half azzed apology Tuesday when you realized that point.

Hank Williams, Jr are you ready for this Shut Up Fool award?      Shut Up Fool!

Now moving on to the Canadian division.  This week's fool is someone not familiar to many US citizens, but for Canadians and especially the TBLG community, he embodies the Christian conservafool movement in the Great White North.

His name is Charles McVety and he founded Canadian Christian College in Toronto, helms the Institute For Canadian Values and until he ran afoul of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council, Word TV.

He has ties to our Religious Reichers John Hagee, Benny Hinn and Pat Robertson, is working to repeal the 2005 law that granted same gender marriage rights, boasts that he has influence in Conservative Party politics up to Prime Minister Stephen Harper himself, and of course is leading the charge against the Canadian trans rights bills..

McVety earned the Canadian division Shut Up Fool! Award! for having his Institute For Canadian Values place a September 28 ad in the National Post and other Canadian newspapers that alleged that LGBT positive education would confuse children about their gender  After those ads generated criticism the Post pulled them and publicly apologized.
    .
As Mercedes Allen from the Dented Blue Mercedes blog said about our Canadian Division fool:.
So there really is no confusion.  You can’t contract confusion about your gender from learning to not beat up trans or gender non-conforming kids.  But you can, however, be confused about why a middle-aged preacher might see you as someone so horrible that the school should be evacuated the moment someone wants to teach your classmates why they should respect you as a human being.
Charles McVety, Shut up fool, eh?

And Francophones, help a sistah out.  For future reference, how do I say Shut up Fool in French?

TransGriot Note:  Got an answer to that question:  It's Imbécile fait taire
