This is the night you TransGriot Readers have all been waiting for.   Tonight is the night you will discover who will join all the not so distinguished reprehensible people who will live in SUF Lifetime Achievement Awards infamy.

Just as a reminder, these are the folks who won it in 2019, and this is the complete list of awardees going back to 2010.   We're starting a new decade properly by adding ten more fools to this list.

Once again since the Oscars have regressed into #OscarsSoWhite territory again, just a little reminder that I'll be announcing the 2020 SUF Lifetime Achievement Awards class of (dis)honorees on February 9

Ever since the 2010 Oscars I've been naming peeps for the SUF Lifetime Achievement Awards.   The intent was when I started them to retire them from weekly SUF award consideration, but so many of them kept saying stupid crap out of their mouths that I dropped that idea. 

Rush Limbaugh was our inaugural winner in 2010     But since 2011 was the 5th anniversary year for TransGriot and we had a plethora of fools to select, I started selecting five every year, bumping that up to ten when TransGriot passed its tenth anniversary year in 2016.

Shut Up Fool Awards- Post MLK Day 2020 Edition

Another MLK Day has come and gone, and now the GOP can stop pretending they care about racial justice and equality and go right back to being the racist azzholes they and their MAGA hat wearing supporters are.

And yeah, because they were pretending, sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, you can wager you paychecks that they opened their mouths on this latest edition of our federal holiday honoring Dr King they opposed and let stupid crap fly out of it.

And yeah, I gots to call them out on it.

Honorable mention for this week's SUF honors goes to Cruella Betsy DeVos, who said that people who support abortion are like the folks who were pro slavery before the Civil War.

Really fool?  You had that expensive private school 'edjumacation and that toro poo poo came out of your mouth? 

It's a ongoing joke and an embarrassment to the United States that you are the Secretary of Education.

This week's winner is Kellyanne Conway.

The White House Crypt Keeper opened up her mouth on King Day and also let something stupid fly out of it.

She said that the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr if he were alive, would be against the Trump impeachment trial.   It was a comment that the Rev Bernice King, Dr King's youngest daughter, quickly went to Twitter and checked Madame Alternative Facts on.

Shut Up Fool Awards- New Year, Same Old BS Edition

This was the first full week of 2020 and the new decade.  Sadly the crap that was going on in the last months of the 2010's before we flipped the calendar page to January and a new decade is still happening.

As Mr T has reminded us for years, fools are everywhere.  They tried to prove it this week on both sides of The Pond

Everyone from Jim Bakker to TX Gov Greg Abbott to Transphobic Boy George tried their best to get this week's TransGriot Shut Up Fool honors,

But this week's winners are the NAACP Image Awards

I gave them the sideeye last year when the critically acclaimed FX show POSE was snubbed for awards last year.   Janet Mock, who is a writer and producer for this show, called them out for their BS with this comment on Twitter.



Well said Janet.   You would think that in a year in which the NAACP passed a resolution mandating that NAACP chapters support and defend the humanity and human rights of Black trans people, that the Image Awards peeps would have gotten the message. 

But it seems they didn't./ This year they left no doubt that the NAACP Image Awards has a transphobia problem 

Billy Porter got two Image Award nominations for Entertainer of the Year and Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series frankly because his talents are undeniable,  but MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Angelica Ross, Dominique Jackson, and the POSE show got ZERO nominations.

Neither did Janet Mock or Steven Canals   Mock was snubbed in the writer or director categories despite Mock writing or directing some of the most powerful Season 2 POSE episodes. 

No nomination for POSE in the Outstanding Drama Series category either but Meghan McCain's problematic azz gets one for The View?

Really Image Awards?   .You need Jesus and to solve your obvious transphobia problem.

The Shut Up Fool Of The Decade Is....

On January 30, 2009 I started one of the more popular features on my blog in the weekly Shut Up Fool Awards.    My inaugural fool for that week was FOX Noise Contributor Juan Williams.

The Shut Up Fool weekly awards begat a Shut Up Fool of the Year, that I announced on New Year's Eve also starting in 2009, with the inaugural winner being then RNC chair Michael Steele.

The blog had only been in operation then for three years, so at that time I wasn't thinking about doing a Shut up Fool of the Decade award.

With TransGriot about to turn 14 years old on New Year's Day, and the blog having been operational for the entire decade of the 2010's, I think it's definitely appropriate to follow up on Brandon Mack's suggestion and name a Shut Up Fool of the Decade.

While I considered group awards for Fox Noise, The Republican Party, the evilgelicals, the TERFs,  Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh and Mitch McConnell just to name a few, there's really only one person who so richly deserves this inaugural Shut Up Fool of the Decade Award.

That person would be the only repeat winner of a TransGriot Shut Up Fool of the Year  award, and he actually could have won it for several more years because he'd done and said enough WTF level stuff to justify it. 

So enough jibber jabber, let's get to it.

Shut Up Fool Awards- Moni's In NOLA Edition

Aww yeah, I'm back in NOLA for the NLGJA convention, and Southern Decadence is also happening just blocks from our convention hotel near the French Quarter

Guess someone on the NLGJA planning committee noted that it was happening and made sure when they chose the dates for this year's conference we'd be here at the same time.

But before I roll out of this hotel to check it out, got convention business to handle.  The other business I need to handle is calling our this week's fool not named Donald John Trump.

That would be Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)   

Sen Collins is upset because her support of (In)Justice Brett Kavanaugh (boo,hiss)  has made it more likely that when November 2020 rolls around she will be an ex-senator. 

Well, boo boo kitty, you knew this man was unpopular and woefully unqualified for the SCOTUS,  your constituents didn't want you voting to confirm him and made it clear where they stood, but you did what you always do with your 'F' NAACP Congressional Report Card rated self does and kiss up to the conservafool wing.

Even Stevie Wonder can see you ain't a 'moderate', and you're going down to electoral defeat next year because peeps have had enough of your fauxgressive crap .

Shut Up Fool Awards- Texas Tax Free Weekend 2019 Edition

It's become the second busiest shopping weekend besides the Christmas holiday season, and that's Texas Tax Free weekend.

School is starting in many Texas districts next week.  The tax free weekend started back in 1999 in order to give parents gearing up for back to school an opportunity to buy all the things they need for their kids and ease the sales tax load.

If you're buying clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from either a store in the Lone Star State or an online website that does business in Texas from August 9-11, what you purchase is exempted from Texas sales taxes this weekend.

Speaking of booming business, time to call out some fools because under this misadminstration, Shut Up Fool business is booming.

While there were many worthy fools to call out like Candace Owens, Dolt 45, Potty Dan Patrick,  Mike Huckabee, Mike Pence, Louie Gohmert and Sucker Tucker Carlson who made my job hard to pick just one out, this week I had to go with Ohio State Rep Candice Keller for the win.

Keller laughingly tried to blame the mass terror shootings in El Paso and Dayton in a personal Facebook post she later deleted on former POTUS Obama, and 'breakdown of the American family caused by transgender, homosexual and drag queen advocates'.

Did I mention that Miss Right Wing Thang is trying to run for the Ohio State Senate?

Naw Candice, let's place the blame where it really lies.  Easy availability of assault weapons to anyone who wishes to buy them, and Republican legislators like you refusing to do anything about it because you're 'scurred' of the NRA

Military weapons that kill mass quantities of humans in seconds do not belong on American streets.  It's not the trans community fault that you're too cowardly to do your job as a legislator and fix the problem.   If you are unwilling to do that, maybe it's time for you to become an ex-legislator.

And oh yeah, you need some drag queens in your pathetic life to give you a makeover.   But even they don't have the makeup skills to cover the ugliness that is deep down in your bones

Shut Up Fool Awards- Bringing It Back Edition

One of the most popular features in the decade plus history of the blog is the TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards in which I have called out the blatant lies, ridiculous mind numbing statements, hypocrisy and the coonery and buffoonery here and around the globe.

And as Mr T has said, "Fools are everywhere".

The Trump misadministration , the Republican Party, white evilgelicals and  FOX Noise have unleashed such a coordinated avalanche of bull feces and lies to cover up and distract you from their creeping christofascism that it got overwhelming for me at times to catalog it all on a weekly basis.

It also didn't help that I have been extremely busy activism wise, so I took a sanity break from that feature for a while.

After running into many of my readers at different events who let me know how much they missed the Shut Up Foll Awards, I'm bringing them back and in the right head space to call crap out every Friday.

I'm not a fan of vegan food, but this week's winner took to his show to call vegetarian burgers a 'Luciferian plot to change human DNA'   Translation: He claims Satan is behind pushing veggie burgers to the public to steal your soul and keep you from going to heaven.

Yeah right, christofascist hatemonger. Rick Wiles is not only a homobigot, he's also anti-Semitic as well.  .

TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards- First Week Of 2019 Edition

Since New Year's Eve fell on a Tuesday, that made this  week starting on Sunday the 6th the first full week of 2019.

Lord, did we have a lot of things going on and fools letting the world know their WTF levels of ignorance, bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny and stupidity.

The Texas Lege started its 2019 session.  More shenanigans from Dolt 45.  Sarah Suckabee Sanders lying on air along with the Crypt keeper, er Kellyanne Conway. TERF's being their reprehensible selves, and the Texas Republican Party having a vote on where to unseat a Tarrant County party chair because he's a Muslim.

And wonder of wonders, FOX Noise having a rare moment of journalism breaking out before they went back to being Trump TV. 

While we had far too many contenders for this week's prize, I can only pick one winner this week, and nope, it ain't the racist orange waste of DNA desecrating the Oval Office. 


This weeks TransGriot Shut Up Fool Award goes to Rep Steve King (R-KKK)   

King opened his mouth and let something racist come out of it when he asked during a New York Times interview  when did the terms 'white nationalist', 'white supremacy' and 'Western civilization' became offensive.

Really fool?   I don't have time to 'edjumacate' your pointed hood wearing azz when those terms became offense.   Go have a section of seat at Kinnick Stadium, read a frakking history book, or turn it to a news channel besides FOX Noise to learn the answer.

But here's the short version.  It was white nationalists who killed heather Heyer in Charlottesville who was there to peacefully protest their reprehensible tiki torch carrying behinds.

It was white supremacists in the name of Western civilization who violently colonized the planet, killed millions of indigenous peoples in doing so, brought my African ancestors who survived the unwanted free boat rides of the Middle Passage to do the work they were too lazy to do, and are the major source of domestic terrorism in the US.

King forgot that Raul Ryan and his party are no longer running thangs in the US House, so he FINALLY faces censure for opening that racist mouth.

TransGriot Shut Up Fool Awards- Black Friday 2018 Edition

It's Black Friday, and hordes of shoppers are working off those post-Thanksgiving calories swarming the malls and strip shopping centers of America ready to trample and beat up their fellow Americans in search of Christmas shopping deals and deeply discounted bargains. 

And it's one thing I definitely don't miss about being in retail.

I know y'all have missed my Shut Up Fool Award posts.  You have told me so as I have been out and about.  I stopped doing them for awhile because I was living a stress filled nomadic life for two months as I was trying to get settled in the wake of moving into my new place. 

It was also because as our Shut Up Fool inspiration, Mr T says, 'Fools are everywhere!'  The number of fools showing their azzes in the Trump misadminstration, the GOP, the evilgelicals, conservafool movement and internationally during that time was getting so overwhelming I had to take a break from it because I had enough on my plate.

But to the consternation of fools everywhere and your reading pleasure, I'm rested and ready to call the fools out.

This week's winner is embattled US Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Confederacy Mississippi)

She has turned what should have been an easy re -election runoff race between her and former congressman and Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy into one eerily replicating for Republicans what happened in neighboring Alabama.

And Mississippi, FYI, has a larger Black population than Alabama does.

She has made comments at a Tupelo event about 'being on the front row of a public hanging', and being in favor of suppressing the votes of people and Black college students.

Hyde-Smith is now complaining that the 'Democrats are tuning my words into a political weapon to be used against me."

You damned skippy they are since you were clueless enough to say them.

That's before I even get to the picture she took at Jefferson Davis' house in Biloxi wearing a Confederate soldiers cap and standing next to someone who is a member of an SPLC-certified hate group.

She has returned contributions from Walmart ($2000), Google ($5000) and $2700 from a Seattle businessman accused of discriminating against Muslims.

As Mike Espy said during the debate, "We don't know what's in your heart, but we all know what came out of your mouth." 

Yeah, we do Confederate boo boo kitty.   You flapped those lips and let the dog whistle hate speech flow.  If you didn't want your word to become a campaign issue, should've kept them to yourself

Shut Up Fool Awards- Charlottesville Anniversary Edition

This Sunday marks the first anniversary of the hate rally in Charlottesville, VA that led the the death of Heather Heyer and others being injured when a Nazi deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people.

And what was Dolt 45's response?   The Nazis are 'very fine people.'   Yeah, right.

Now the emboldened white supremacists are taking their hate speech to Washington DC's Lafayette Park for another 'Unite The Right' hate rally

Ugh.

Honorable mention number five is Rep Devin Nunes for attending a fundraiser for embattled Rep cathy mcMorris Rodgers and being recorded confirming what every American paying attention is aware of in terms of the GOP is abdicating their oversight authority on the executive branch in order to protect Dolt 45

This week's SUF loser winner is Pastor John Gray.

This kneegrow is doing his best Uncle Ruckus impression by continuing to try to justify cooning it up with Trump at that WH meeting in which another kneegrow pastor laughing claimed that Trump is the 'most pro Black president ever by blasphemously claiming that meeting with Trump is equivalent to meeting with Jesus. 

Really fool?   It's time for you to have a come to Jesus meeting with the Black community.

This kind of crap is why young people are turning away from the church, because of shady characters like you who spend more time sucking up to power than speaking truth to it.

Shut Up Fool; Awards- Go TSU Tigers Edition

My alma mater isn't the only Houston collegiate team repping our city in this year's NCAA men's basketball playoffs./

For the fourth time in five season the texas Southern University Tigers are also in the Big Dance, and even better finally earned their first ever tournament win with a 64-46 victory against NC Central.

Honorable mention number one is (Mis) Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, for proving once again that Trump hires the worst people.

Honorable mention number two is Dana Loesch.   Ammosexual Barbie has gotten her azz handed to her by the Parkland kids, Black Lives Matter, CNN and now singer Neil Young.

Honorable mention number three is Dr Stacey Patton.   She stepped to me in a Twitter private message upset because i'd called her out on her transphobia

Hey if you don't want me calling you out on your transphobia, the cure is simple: don't be a fracking transphobe

Honorable mention number four iis one for defeated Bexar County DA Nico LaHood, who is upset because Lauryn Farris called him out at Tuesday's press conference for screwing up the case that allowed Keen McFadden's admitted killer to go free.

Naw Nico, don't get mad because you screwed up and the San Antonio trans community is calling you out about it..

Honorable mention number five is to now former Maine House candidate Leslie Gibson.  The Republican (what else?) dropped out of the race after referring to Parkland, FL shooting survivor Emma Gonzales as a 'skinhead lesbian'.

She identifies as bisexual you conservaidiot

Good riddance.

This week's Shut Up Fool loser winner is OJ Simpson   The Juice let his mouth run loose instead of shutting it in his first interview since he was sprung from a Nevada jail.

He threw his two cents in about Colin Kaepernick in  recent interview, saying "I thought he made a bad choice in attacking the flag"

Dude, you're the last person that needs to be talking about 'bad choices' since you are alleged to have killed two people and gotten away with it.

So keep Colin Kaepernick's name out your mouth since he's done more for Black people than you did in your entire career.

The TransGriot 2017 Shut Up Fool Of The Year Is...

It's that time again.   Time to discover out of all these folks nominated who will be named the TransGriot Shut Up Fool Of The Year for 2017.

But before I do that, let recap the previous winners of the TransGriot Shut Up Fool of the Year Award

There were many worthy nominees, and Trump more than did enough in his ongoing dumpster fire of a mispresidency to win the SUF of the Year for a third consecutive year. 

But I decided to give it to another deserving fool this year.

The five 2017 Shut Up Fool of the Year finalists I narrowed it down to were a group award for the Republican Party, Milo Yiannopoulos, Alex Jones, Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The 2017 Shut Up Fool of the Year is Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick
Potty Dan Patrick wasted much of his political capital and Texas taxpayer dollars trying to foister an unjust anti-trans 'Bathroom bill' on the state that the Texas trans community, its allies, Texas reality based citizens, Texas police departments and police chief , the Texas business community, Texas oil companies, Texas colleges and universities, the mayors of Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin, and most importantly Speaker Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) and Chairman Byron Cook (R-Corsicana) of the House State Affairs Committee repeatedly told him they didn't want and was bad for Texas.

But Patrick and his henchwoman Sen. Lois /Locker Room' Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) tried to force this legislative cow chip through the 2017 regular legislative session and a special session he forced that cost the state's taxpayers an addition $800,000 only to fail twice to pass it.tanks to the adults in the Texas House.

Just talking about SB 6 passage cost the Houston, Dallas and Austin millions $66 million in lost convention business.  It cost Galveston, TX a conference, and put $200 million of business in jeopardy.

And why?   For Dan Patrick's personal political gain.

That anti-trans rhetoric he, Lois and his party peddled during the session to pass SB 6 led to four trans Texans being killed and others being harassed across the state.

And once it was clear it wasn't going to pass in the Special Oppression Session, Patrick blamed everybody but the person staring back in the mirror. 

There's an ever lengthening list of politicians who lost their seats or offices for peddling transphobia that includes TX Rep. Debbie Riddle, TX Rep Gilbert Pena, NC Gov. Pat McCrory, and now VA Delegate Bigot Bob Marshall.

Hopefully on November 6 you'll be the next legislative transphobe added to that not so distinguished list.

Shut Up Fool Awards- Happy 150th Birthday Canada Edition

Tomorrow is July 1 and Canada Day,  in which our neighbor to our north will be celebrating its 150th birthday.  

And as those celebrations happen across their home and native land trans Canadians will be doing ao with the knowledge that their human rights are protected in Canadian federal law and in the laws of all Canadian provinces and territories.

I can talk about that later, but have to get to this week's Friday business of calling out the fool, fools or fools that are everywhere.

Honorable mention number one is Canadian Senator Don Plett (Conservative-AB) who fought C-16 and pimped anti-trans slurs to do so.  

Honorable mention number two is a group award for the REAL Women of Canada, the transphobic kissing cousins to the TERF's and right wing Republicans.

Honorable mention number three is Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX)  Olson continued the GOP War on Women by attacking the ACA mandate that requires that prenatal and maternity issues be covered. 

Honorable mention number four is Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who keeps trying to push Trumpcare on this country when millions of people and members of his own caucus are telling him they don't want it .

Honorable mention number five is deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.   The daughter of Mike Huckabee tried to claim in a recent propaganda dissemination session press conference that Donald Trump has never incited violence.

Yeah, right.  

Honorable mention number six is Kellyanne Conway.  Propaganda Barbie continues to make an azz out of herself by claiming she's happy with the way Dear Cheeto Leader treats women, questioning the media's patriotism, and other assorted gems this week.

This week's Shut Up Fool winner is Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) who is Exhibit A of what I talk about when I say the most dangerous transphobe is one that has legislative power.

Hartzler compared transgender service members to Vladimir Putin, ISIS and North Korea, and then backed up that idiotic her anti-trans rhetoric by introducing and later withdrawing an amendment that would have banned transpeople from serving in the military

We already have over 15,000 trans people in all branches of the US Armed forces proudly serving our country and more who would like to do do despite your party's  unhinged resistance to the idea.

Vicky, trans people aren't a danger to the United States.   It's ignorant transphobic people like you who are.   And you're even more dangerous to our country because you are a fool with the power tot write legislation

Shut Up Fool Awards- Texas Blueberry Festival Edition

While I'm in Nacogdoches TX for this year's 9th annual edition of the Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit, it isn't the only event taking place in this East Texas college town this weekend.   We also have the 28th annual Texas Blueberry Festival taking place tomorrow.

The main street of historic downtown Nacogdoches will have events from a bluegrass music concert to a 5K run as the expected 19,000 people descend on the town to enjoy the fun and blueberry infused treats as we chill on the Stephen F Austin State University campus plot the next phases of the trans movement.

I still haven't forgotten that I have the  Friday business of calling some fools out.

Honorable mention one is Donald Trump for pick an outrage.

Honorable mention number two is Houston homophobe Dave Wilson, who went on FOXNoise26 and made some nasty remarks about the upcoming Houston Pride parade

Honorable mention number three we go across The Pond for in British Prime Minister Theresa May.
She called a snap election three years before she was mandated to in an attempt to get a Conservative Party ruling majority and it resulted in a hung parliament in which she will now have to form a coalition government in order for the Conservatives to remain in power.

Honorable mention number four tis Josh Duggar, for having the faux faith based hypocritical balls to sue because he's upset that peeps found out he molested his sisters and cousin.

This week's winner is Gov. Greg Abbott,

He caved to Lt Gov. 'Potty Dan' Goeb Patrick and called a special oppression session that will take place on July 18 and cost this state's taxpayer's $800,000 to basically try to pass the bad Texas GOP that deservedly failed during the just concluded regular session..

And that means once again we'll have to go to Austin to fight Texas GOP legislative oppression that is happening simply to enhance his GOP gubernatorial primary prospects.

Shut Up Fool Awards- It's SUF Lifetime Achievement Awards Weekend!

Since 2010, I've passed out the Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Awards during Oscar Weekend to not only call out fools who just have grown beyond the weekly award, but give myself something to do in the years I refuse to watch the Oscars because they have had a severe lack of melanin in their nominations.

This year I'll be tuned in, but the Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Awards will go on as scheduled Sunday night when I announce the Class  of 2017 winners.

But before we get to Sunday, let's get our usual Friday business out of the way in naming this week's Shut Up Fool weekly award winners.

Honorable mention number one is a group award for the CPAC attendees who were waving Russian flags with Trump on them during his speech to the event today.  

And these are supposed to be the intelligent conservafools.   Lord help us.

honorable mention number two  is Jackie Evancho who after singing at Trump's inauguration, is now shocked that he has yanked the protections for trans kids, and is even more shocked he won't meet with her and her trans feminine sister Juliet.

Really?  When everyone was telling you not to sing at his inauguration and you did so anyway, and now you're shocked that he won't see you after you cave him the propaganda cover he was looking for?

Honorable mention number three is Caitlyn Jenner,  who called out Trump and told him to 'call her' after yanking protections for trans kids.

Now Caitlyn's azz wants to speak up after we told her for months that the GOP she supports doesn't like trans people.  You're going to have the same success getting him to call you that Jackie Evancho is having , none.

Sit your azz down somewhere. 

Honorable mention number four is the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL), the governing body for Texas HS sports.   They refuse to change their rule that would allow Texas trans high school students to compete based on their gender presentation, and now they have the situation of having a transmasculine student being forced by their rules to wrestle against girls.

He is competing in the Class 6A championships in suburban Houston.

Fix the rules UIL.  Let trans boys compete against trans boys and trans girls compete against trans girls ,

Honorable mention number five is the Trump administration for pick an outrage

This week's Shut Up Fool winner is Tampa Bay Bucs QB Jameis Winston, who opened his mouth and let something stupid fly out of it while speaking to a Tampa area elementary school.

During the 40 minute speech he said that ladies are supposed to be silent, polite and gentle.  That may be the motto for the Stepford Wives in the conservafool ranks, but not during a time in which we need to be speaking truth to power in the fact of an unjust government.

Winston later apologized for the inarticulate remarks, but naw homey, you need to have several sections of seats at Raymond James Stadium and ponder the long proud legacy of African American women who didn't stay silent about things that mattered like  Angela Davis, Coretta Scott King, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Shirley Chisholm, Audre Lorde, Congresswoman Maxine Waters...

Well behaved silent women don't  make history or confront injustice.

So on behalf of all women cis and trans, Jameis Winston, shut up fool!
