Third 2012 Presidential Debate Wrap Up
While the Chicago Bears were dominating the Detroit Lions during their 13-7 victory at Soldier Field last night, in the other big Chicago vs Detroit matchup on the political stage President Obama also won big in his final debate with challenger Mitt Romney.
Hey, that's not just my chococentric assessment of this debate. Three snap post debate polls show that the POTUS won. The loud conservafool whining already commencing on the Net about the moderator, speaking time and other issues tells me all I need to know about who won in addition to what I watched transpire over those 90 minutes.
The 'Big Chief' as Tom Joyner calls him showed up at this debate, but he was confronted with another version of Moderate Mitt. This time Mitt was in 'me, too' mode repudiating stances he took during the Republican primary and over the six years he's run for POTUS and President Obama called him on it.
And note to Mitt Romney, check a map the next time you try to go into a foreign policy debate because it's obvious you are woefully lacking in that aspect of the POTUS job and having the GW Bush foreign policy peeps sniffing around you doesn't help.. .
First you tried to claim the AFRICAN country of Mali is in the Middle East, and then later you tried to claim that Syria was Iran's path to the sea. Um dude, ever heard of two bodies of water called the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz?
There was also that devastating counter to Mittens talking point that the US Navy has less ships than it did in 1916 and the President swiftly and snarkily whacking him with the point that the US military has fewer horses and bayonets.
The Commander in Chief was in command of the facts, knew his stuff foreign policy wise while Mitt was sweating, saying the POTUS has done a great job, and regurgitating his loud and wrong foreign policy campaign talking points President Obama ripped to shreds.
That's why President Obama whupped that Mitt again when this evening at Lynn University was over. Now with 14 days left until Election Day we'll see if the voting public sees it that way as well.

“You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets … because the nature of our military's changed," the president taunted. "We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines.”

Final Presidential Debate Tonight
After I finish handling my civic duty, I'll be parked in front of the TV with notepad in hand checking out the final debate in Boca Raton, FL between President Obama and Mitt Romney.
The debate at Lynn University is supposed to be focused on the subject of foreign policy and will be moderated by Bob Scheiffer of CBS. I have the suspicion that both candidates will do their best to sneak in commentary about domestic issues during this 90 minute battle.
And TransGriot readers, I implore you to have no drinking games based on how many times Mitt lies. You'll be risking alcohol poisoning if you do.
I also wonder if the conservafools are going to attack Bob Schieffer before the debate starts like they did Martha Raddatz and Candy Crowley?
Yes TransGriot readers, just as I have done for the last three debates, I will post my thoughts and impressions about how it transpired around midnight CDT.

Second 2012 Presidential Debate Wrap Up
When the high stakes second presidential debate started at Hofstra University Multiple Choice Moderate Mitt Romney was there.
The problem for Mitt Romney was that 2007-2008 Obama was in the room and proceeded to spank that azz.
It was a town hall style format in which the questions came from the audience, and this time President Obama challenged Mitt Romney from the outset. Romney also tried to run over moderator Candy Crowley like he did with Jim Lehrer two weeks ago in Denver and she wasn't having it.
Neither was President Obama, who called Romney's butt out every chance he got and mentioned the issues he left on the table in Denver to the frustration of his base.
The POTUS was on his debating A game last night while a flummoxed Mitt Romney made some unforced errors. The critical one came when Mittens thought he had the POTUS cornered on a question pertaining to the Benghazi, Libya consulate attack and he was embarrassingly corrected not only by President Obama, but called on his lie that the president never called the Benghazi attack a terror one by moderator Candy Crowley. President Obama also called Mittens butt out for playing politics with the issue as well and called it offensive his insinuation that the POTUS or any member of his administration would play politics with a situation in which 4 diplomats died.
Mittens also got called on his immigration policies when the POTUS pointed out his campaign adviser was Kris Kobach, the author of the Arizona SB 1070 law Romney called 'a model for the nation'.
In the final question of the night Romney opened the door for the president to use the 47% comment against him and the POTUS whacked Romney with it in his closing statement as the debate ended..
President Obama was on a mission last night and he accomplished it. He confronted Romney on his lies, vigorously defended his administration and his policies, fired up the base, and convincingly won this second debate. Now we'll see not only how the conservafools spin this debate, but which way the polls go in reaction to this Obama win.
They're already attacking Candy Crowley, so that means they think Mittens lost.
The October 22 debate in Boca Raton, FL with its focus on foreign policy will definitely be a fun and critical one. Whether it determines the outcome of the election remains to be seen.

Critical Second Presidential Debate Tonight
The format is a town hall style one with CNN's Candy Crowley as the moderator and 80 undecided voters, but the stakes are even higher as Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama square off in the second of their three presidential debates at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY.
The polls are back to being tied after Mittens lied his way to a bump in them after their first debate in Denver and VP Joe Biden eviscerated Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) in Thursday's vice presidential debate.
Add to this situation the fact we already have early voting going on in several states including the must win one for Romney of Ohio. Texas gets to join the early voting party starting on October 22, the date of the last presidential debate in Florida.
We will see later tonight which 'Multiple Choice Mitt' shows up tonight. Will it be the moderate one who has been MIA for the last two years as he tried to secure the Republican nomination or will it be the 'Severely conservative' one?
And you can bet President Obama will be ready to rumble tonight after being caught off guard by the surprise appearance of Multiple Choice Mitt.
Break out the snacks and get ready for one interesting 90 minutes of television that will have a bearing on who has the lead going into the final 2012 presidential debate in Florida.

Denver Presidential Debate Wrapup
Much is at stake when the two candidates face off in 90 minutes that will determine how the rest of this election shakes out." TransGriot October 3, 2012
That's what I wrote before last night's debate. Yeah, the conservafools are all giddy because Mittens had the strong debate performance he needed and according to the polls that the Republicans now suddenly don't have a question about their accuracy (big surprise) now have declared their guy the winner of this first presidential debate.
Jim Lehrer's pathetic debate moderation only put an exclamation point on what we non-white Americans were concerned about in terms of the lack of diversity in the moderator lineup when it was first announced by the Debate Commission. Lehrer let Romney run all over him like the Houston Texans Bulls on Parade defense did Jake Locker last Sunday.
While President Obama was ticking off the facts, Romney was lying his azz off and not getting called on it. But at the same time he looked like he wanted to be there and the POTUS seemed like he didn't . Maybe it was because it was President Obama's wedding anniversary, I don't know. President Obama did look flat to me and as my GLAAD media training instructor Joel Silberman would have said about this performance last night, Romney did a better job of faking it until you make it.
But one thing Romney wont be able to fake over the next two debates and the next 34 days is his sudden conversion from Mr. Severe Conservative to Mr. I Feel Your Pain Middle Class Moderate especially in light of the overwhelming body of severely conservafool evidence he's anything but that..
But I was concerned about the fact that the POTUS seemed off his game and more concerned about not looking like the 'Angry Black Man' than calling Mitt Romney on his bull feces, especially in light of the fact Jim Lehrer wasn't. So we'll see how this plays out in the polls over the next few days, but this does place more pressure on Joe Biden in the Vice Presidential Debate at Centre College on October 11.
And if anyone on the liberal-progressive side was concerned about our side being overconfident over the next 34 days, well people, we just got the wake up call to take nothing for granted, bust our asses to get the POTUS and every Democrat elected and keep running hard toward the finish line until November 7.
Hope the president and the Obama 2012 team got that message, too.

Happy 20th Anniversary To The POTUS And FLOTUS
Today is the 20th wedding anniversary of President Barack H. Obama and First Lady Michelle L. Obama, who were married on this date in Chicago weeks before the 1992 presidential election.
It's ironic that as the POTUS and FLOTUS are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, our nation is once again in the homestretch of a critical and contentious reelection campaign for an incumbent president .
It's also ironic that the first debate of the 2012 presidential campaign is also taking place later this evening on this date
Well, hope y'all get to spend some quality time with each other celebrating your special day. May you both be celebrating your wedding anniversaries as residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue through 2016.

The First 2012 Presidential Debate In One Week
On October 3 the first of three presidential debates will take place on the University of Denver's campus between President Obama and his challenger Mitt Romney The debate will focus on domestic policy and be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on topics to be selected by the moderator and announced several weeks before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a discussion of the topic.
This University of Denver debate will be moderated by Jim Lehrer (and I already vented along with the National Association Of Black Journalists and Univision about the lack of melanin in the Commission on Presidential Debates choices for those moderators and their weak azzed defense of it).
Yeah, still pissed about the fact there are no POC moderators for these debates and there hasn't been one since Carole Simpson did so 20 years ago. But even she has commented about how little things have changed in 20 years.
But the best part is that in this UD debate or the two remaining ones Mitt won't be able to lie unchallenged. This debate will also be occurring on the 20th anniversary of the marriage of the POTUS and FLOTUS (how cool is that?)
Also looking forward to the vice presidential one on October 11 between Vice President Joe Biden and Paul Ryan.
Already stocking up on the popcorn because this is going to be a make or break moment for the floundering Romney-Ryan campaign. Either he steps it up or the Obama team can start planning their second inauguration ceremony on January 20 after the national handles its electoral business on November 6 and puts Romney out of his political misery.

And if everyone does their part on November 6 (or whenever early voting starts in your locale) it'll be taken until January 20, 2017. Just an FYI fellow Texans, early voting for us starts on October 22. so make sure you're registered to vote before that date.
Here's information about casting absentee ballots and the deadlines for doing so in very state.

And yeah, it would be nice if you send some people to the House and Senate while you're at it to help him pass some lesiglation to help the country.

Where's The Diversity In The Presidential Debate Moderator Lineup?
The presidential debates between President Obama and Mitt Romney and the vice presidential debates between Vice President Biden and Paul Ryan will occur in October.
The schedule and debate subjects have already been determined along with the locations for the four scheduled debates, but the moderators were just announced yesterday..
The vice presidential debate will cover both foreign and domestic topics and be divided
into nine time segments of approximately 10 minutes each. The moderator
will ask an opening question, after which each candidate will have two
minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in
the segment for a discussion of the question.
The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
The format for the third presidential debate will be identical to the first presidential debate and will focus on foreign policy.
The question I and every non-white American is asking ourselves right now is where's the diversity in the moderator lineup?
Granted, CNN's Candy Crowley will be the first woman in over 20 years to moderate a presidential debate. But you couldn't ask Gwen Ifill, who has moderated the 2004 and 2008 vice presidential debates to do so? You mean to tell me Presidential Debate Commission you couldn't find a single non-white journalist to moderate at least one of these debates?
Here's the short list of people of color journalists I came up with in addition to Gwen Ifill that could easily moderate these debates: Martin Bashir, Tamron Hall, Roland Martin, Alina Cho, Suzanne Malveaux, TJ Holmes, Ed Gordon, Soledad O'Brien.....
Or is it you didn't look hard enough?
The schedule and debate subjects have already been determined along with the locations for the four scheduled debates, but the moderators were just announced yesterday..
- First Presidential Debate
- October 3, University of Denver, Denver, CO
- Moderator: Jim Lehrer, PBS
- Vice Presidential Debate
- October 11, Centre College, Danville, KY
- Moderator: Martha Raddatz, ABC
- Second Presidential Debate (town hall -meeting format)
- October 16, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
- Moderator: Candy Crowley, CNN
- Third Presidential Debate
- October 22, Lynn University, Boca Raton, FL
Moderator: Bob Schieffer, CBS

A taste of President Obama's recent speech in which he critiqued the Mitbot's tax plan and coined a new phrase for the presumptive GOP nominee and what his tax plan would do to the middle class.

Happy 51st Birthday Mr. President!
Today as those of us in reality based world know is the 51st birthday of our president Barack Hussein Obama II. The divorced from reality birthers may believe that he wasn't born in Honolulu, HI but the rest of us and his birth certificate says otherwise along with that 1961 birth announcement. .
In less than 100 days we have an extremely critical election coming up on November 6, and I can think of no better present to give to the POTUS than four more years in the White House .
Hey it's one of the few times in your life you can give a birthday gift to someone that will benefit you as well.
Happy birthday President Obama!. May you have many more of them as a resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave through 2016.

POTUS Predicts Texas Will Soon Be A Battleground State
If someone inside I-495 or at DNC headquarters would get their heads out of their behinds and use some visionary thinking, they would realize it would be to their electoral college advantage to set up a situation in which Texas becomes a swing state in every presidential election cycle.
Once that swing state political party starts happening and you put those now 38 electoral votes in play every presidential election cycle, the GOP is screwed in terms of presidential politics.
And that's a major reason why the Republifools passed that racist voter suppression law during the 2011 Texas Legislative session because they know that as well. They also know that Texas since 2000 has been a majority-minority population state.President Obama made these swing state Texas remarks during a San Antonio fundraiser attended by San Antonio mayor Joaquin Castro (D) and Eva Longoria (yep, she's a native Texan).
From a selfish point of view, it would be nice to see presidential candidates from both parties have to fight over my home state in order to get to the magic 270 electoral vote mark.
We also need the national Democratic Party to stop using this state as a political ATM machine so we can use those local resources to build Democratic party infrastructure at the county level. .We also have to get more white liberal progressive Texans to run for office and consistently win as Democrats so that we have even more diversity represented in our Democratic legislative officeholders.
Frankly, I'm tired of my birth state, which once sent statesmen and stateswomen to Congress such as House Speaker Sam Rayburn, President Lyndon B. Johnson, Rep Albert Thomas, Sen Ralph Yarborough, Sen Lloyd Bentsen, Sen. John Tower (R), President George H.W. Bush (R), Rep Barbara Jordan and Rep. Mickey Leland now being represented on the national scene by nekulturny At the state level I went from governors like Dolph Briscoe, Mark White, and Ann Richards to GW Bush and Rick Perry.
Now that Texas is worth 38 electoral votes, it's even more important that it happens, especially since the Lone Star State has been a majority-minority population one since 2000..
It's past time that the nation, the conservafool movement and the Lone Star State gets used to the reality that the Texas Democratic Party exists. It's also past time the resources get invested in the TDP so they can build a Blue Texas that allows us Democrats to compete and win here.
Baylor Lady Bears Visit The White House
Y'all know how much I love my Houston hoopster homegirl Brittney Griner and her Baylor Lady Bear teammates who completed an unbeaten 40-0 run to a NCAA women's basketball title and made me look like a hoops genius in terms of picking my NCAA women's March Madness bracket..
They got to visit the White House and President Obama yesterday and present the POTUS with a Baylor jersey and autographed basketball.
“I could not be prouder of this team,” President Obama said during this event. ”As the father of two daughters who are tall and beautiful just like them, it is great to have role models who can show that women can be strong and athletic and competitive, but also play as a team.”
And this Lady Bear team had a dominating and record setting season on the way to beating the Skylar Diggins led Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the championship. They also kept the NCAA women's championship trophy in the Lone Star State for the second consecutive season.
Can they repeat? We'll see starting in November.

Devastating Obama Campaign Ad Whacks Mitt v 2012
When I finally got around to catching up on what I missed while traveling back to Houston after my double secret weekend in Washington DC, noted the inside I-495 Sunday talk show chatter over this devastating Obama campaign attack ad.
It pimp slaps Mitt v. 2012 over his propensity of being Bain Capital's Outsourcer In Chief and making mad loot for it that Romney shelters in offshore bank accounts in exotic island locales.
The most delicious part of the ad is it uses Romney's dreadful January off key singing of 'America the Beautiful' while doing so.
The Romney campaign tried to respond with their own ad attacking the POTUS with the backdrop of the POTUS singing Al Green's 'Lets Stay Together', but had to yank it after a copyright infringement claim was filed.
(snicker snicker) That's what y'all Republicans get for hatin' on the liberal progressive peeps in the music industry.
And to apologize to you TransGriot readers for assaulting your ears with such horrid singing, let hme post so video that shows you how it should properly be done.

POTUS Comments On Health Care Reform SCOTUS Win
The first president to push and get passed health care reform in US history. It's spike the political football time and work like hell to get this man reelected on November 6 along with a Congress that can help a presidential brother out.

Trans United For Obama Launched
As I've stated more than a few times on TransGriot, while elements of the GL community have sniped at President Obama and in some cases delusionally called him 'the worst president ever on gay issues', as far as the trans community is concerned, he's been the best president ever on trans issues in US history.A national volunteer organization was recently formed called Trans United for Obama (TU4O) that is designed to rally transgender people, supporters, allies, and families to re-elect President Barack Obama and ensure he is taking the oath of office on January 20, 2013 for his second term.
Here's the TU4O announcement post courtesy of Meghan Stabler, elected Texas delegate for the upcoming 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.
***
President Obama has led so many historic positive policy changes for transgender equality--- more than any elected official in history! We are involved on all levels, from door-knocking, doing data entry, fundraising, registering voters, and getting the message out that President Obama must be re-elected... all the things a victorious campaign and our community needs.
I am personally inviting you to be a part of this community.
We are trans leaders, advocates, educators, bloggers, authors, and allies out to educate people about the historic accomplishments that the Obama Administration has made in the past four years to secure equal rights and protections for transgender, transsexual and intersex identified, and for for all LGBT Americans.
Did you know that more has been accomplished by the Obama administration for trans rights equality than all 43 other presidents combined? For example:
- Ended the Social Security Administration’s gender “no-match” letters and allowed for true gender passports
- Ensured that transgender Americans can receive true gender passports without surgery
- Established guidelines to help protect transgender federal employees from discrimination in the workplace
- Made sure transgender veterans receive respectful care according to their true gender through the Veterans Health Administration
This is where you play a part. We are standing with our President and ask that you join us, and help build TU4O!
- We will hold frequent conference calls with you and with the campaign where you will be invited to participate.
- We will work with the campaign to make sure that all of the campaign offices are ready for and respectful of trans volunteers.
- We will work with the campaign to register trans voters and make sure trans people aren’t denied the right to vote because of the recent new voter ID laws in certain states.
