Well, looks like the USS Monica is going to have to leave port on another cybercruise to blast the ignorance coming her way in her comment section.

Today we've locked and loaded our troll nuke tipped informational Tomahawks at commenter James, who posted this gem on my post blasting Chuck Knipp for sending a contribution to my blog donation button I promptly returned.   He then started showing his true KKKolors and sent a few  .88 cent ones which also got returned.

FYI people 88 is white supremacist code for 'Heil Hitler'.   (8= the eight letter of the alphabet, and 88=HH)

Chuck is a very sweet person and would that you might try to see things from his perspective, you might know that he is not making fun of African Americans, or women. In fact, he is making a social and political statement about stereotypes. Albeit an uncomfortable statement, it is none-the-less an examination of stereotypes through humor.

Whoopi Goldberg told an incredibly "offensive" joke to make a point about stereotypes and language and I think it is relevant here. Chuck is thought provoking as well and if you dig under the surface you might just see that what he is saying is how ridiculous stereotypes are.

Sometimes funny is rooted in what we are afraid to say. But, before you condemn him, see the show. If not, then you're a hypocrite.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, there y'all go again.      Chuck may be sweet to y'all, but his actions to POC's don't convey that message, James.

That same sweet person as you characterized him posted on his blog a photoshopped pic of Jasmyne Cannick a few years ago on the body of a African-American porn star named Annie Hawkins-Turner.

'Nice' Chuck did so because Jasmyne is not only one of many fierce critics of his 'act', she led the protest that successfully killed one of his LA shows.

According to you Chuck is not making fun of African-Americans?   Really?    A character that speaks in Ebonics, has 19 'chirren' named after discount stores and talks about drinking 40's isn't in your clueless vanilla flavored privileged mind 'making fun of African-Americans?  You've watched a few too many Fox news shows.

It's not just my opinion, there's a long list of African Americans that since 2002 haven't found his New Millennium Minstrel Show to be funny and have expressed themselves about it..  

And please don't try to equate Whoopi Goldberg to Chuck.  She's said some jacked up things as well, but the difference between her and Chuck is she light years more intelligent and doesn't do a racist minstrel show for a living. 

'Thought provoking' are not words I'd use in a sentence to describe Chuck Knipp.   He's about as thought provoking as Christine O'Donnell.
   
Let me break it down for you and any other Chucky defender a point that y'all repeatedly seem to be oblivious to. . There's a fine line between funny and offensive.  You don't as a white person get to tell me or my people what is or isn't offensive to us or any POC.    If we tell you the racial joke your buddies laughed at is offense, better that that as the gospel truth.

After a few weeks of shore leave, time for the USS Monica to leave home port once again and blow up some more cyberignorance.    

 

Nicole H decided she wished to pick a fight with Moni because I called out Mara Keisling and her National Center for Transgender Exclusion for supporting the worthless HB 235 trans rights bill in Maryland.

I love and admire Mara Keisling. You may not agree or understand every position she takes but I trust her motives and political knowledge to know tthat she understands Beltway politics much more than I as an outsider do.
Secondly, Mara is an attoorney. I'm sure she could make much more money in private or corporate practice than working as a Trans activist.
Many of Monica Roberts articles seem to be very angry and judgemental. I feel that we should quit "eating our own" and try to respect each other. While I may not agree with Mara on the incremental rights approach to equality, I do have the utmost respect for her and appreciate her efforts on behalf of the Trans Community.

I don't agree with Mara Keisling's stances because she has repeatedly failed the trans community by being on the wrong side of many issues of importance to it and too quick to suck up to Gay, Inc..

And Nicole, since you obviously aren't aware of this, I was until 2002 the political director of NTAC.  I was  lobbying on trans issues at the state and national level several years before this community, much less you knew who Mara Keisling was.

Yeah, the same 'knowledge of inside the beltway politics' that had her sitting next to Sen. John McCain on a cross country flight to DC and not take any time to talk to him about our issues?

The same 'knowledge of inside the beltway politics' that in 2007 had her claiming that trans inclusion in ENDA was 'a slam dunk' when myself and other NTAC people were sounding the alarm in May 2007 that we weren't in the bill and word from our Capitol Hill contacts was we were going to get cut out of it?.

She was the one also calling us 'crazy' until the 'crazy NTAC people' were proven 100% correct in late September-October 2007.

The same knowledge of 'inside the beltway politcs' that has those same inside I-495 people calling her a joke?  Judging by her effectiveness so far as a trans advocate, we wish she'd stayed in the corporate world.

Then you make the blanket attack statement calling my articles 'angry and judgemental'.   Which ones?  You didn't specify for starters, and judgmental.by whose standards?  Yours?

I'm doing what African-Americans have always done in terms of questioning the fitness of people who claim to lead us and their effectiveness in executing the enactment of the political, economic and social agenda of the trans community.  If you and the Mara Can Do No Wrong Crowd don't like the fact this unapologetically Black trans woman is one of the many people pointing out her incompetence, too damned bad.

TransGriot Nuke A Troll 9-Immigration Troll Immolation

Well, didn't take long for somebody to have a problem with my post smacking the racism and bigotry immigrants aim at African-Americans in their zeal to be more 'American'.

What I said is nothing new.   We African descended peeps have been talking about this inside the family for decades.   There's even an old Richard Pryor comedy routine in which he jokes about instructors in the refugee camps being set up for arriving Vietnamese refugees in the wake of the end of the Vietnam War teaching them how to say the n-word in rapid succession.

The Pryor joke however, touches on a subject that is a sore spot with many African Americans, one that I  expressed in the Immigrant Wake Up Call post.

Someone calling themselves Sammie had a problem with it and clearly didn't comprehend what I was talking about..

Why do you go after immigrant? I don't understand how you could be so ignorant as a transgender woman and south African national I don't understand why you would generalize us in a group while the woman in question on the above blog is really an adopted child who has known nothing about Africa other than growing up in this very Country.
I was a fan of your blog but as a transgender woman of African decent, I’m disgusted by your bias and bitter undertones of information you choose to share/empower women of color

This post about immgrants hatin' on African Americans is NOT a generalization as you characterized it in your comment.   Kola Boof has articulated the same points more than a few times online about how continental Africans disrespect us..   In college I verbally pimp slapped more than a few international students when they expressed opinions about African Americans that were grossly off the mark and rooted in stereotypes that white conservafools gleefully pimp.

Like many African Americans I'm tired of it.   My people are tired of it.    

And then there is akat's jacked up series of videos.   I don't care whether she's allegedly adopted or not, she claimed Ethiopian heritage, it doesn't excuse what she said, it was foul and damned skippy I'm going to call her out this BS.


I'm also going to at the same time verbalize my thoughts about the general pissy attitudes that immigrants, especially ones from the Mother Continent who should know fracking better, have toward African Americans. .

If you don't like it, tough.  In addition to being trans I'm also a proud African-American child of the Diaspora.   That loyalty to my people comes first before I even start discussing trans issues through my chocolate flavored perspective.

My trans status does not preclude me from speaking my mind about any issue that I see fit to comment on and you are always free to read another trans blog that won't talk about social justice issues from an Afrocentric perspective if you wish.
