Why Laverne's Cameron Wirth Character Is Important

Image result for Laverne Cox as Cameron Wirth
One of the things I had a chance to talk about with young trans advocates during this just completed Transgender Leadership Institute in Dallas was the upcoming February 15 debut of the CBS legal drama Doubt and why Laverne's Cameron Wirth character to me has the same social and societal importance as Nichelle Nichols Uhura character was to Star Trek.

We are now in a moment in which the visibility of trans characters is increasing, and even better, they are increasingly being played by trans people,   As much as I love Karla Mosley, love her as a cis woman and standup trans ally playing Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful and talked about how groundbreaking and important her character was in Soap World, one problem I see with Maya Avant is that the longtime major character on the soap didn't originally start out as a Black transgender woman.

In Doubt, Cameron Wirth is not only a major character that happens to be trans from the outset of the show, but is also played by a girl like us who can bring those subtle nuances of being a trans woman in real life to this character.  .

"Yes, she's trans. But now what?" Cox told a small group of reporters during the Television Critics Association's winter meetings. "It's sort of like a who cares, really. And I think having something like that on television, it helps the public to become familiar with that, to become comfortable with that. ... Years before we saw a Black president in real life, we saw Black presidents on television."

Image result for Laverne as Cameron Wirth
In a Hollywood in which far too often trans characters of color have either been killed off in the first fifteen seconds, are riddled with stereotypes, or played for comic relief, it is nice to see a girl like us dramatic character that is reflective of the segment of the trans community that is blessed to have advanced degrees and professional careers.

That character being Black and Ivy League educated is also a bonus. It's also nice to hear this close to Valentine's Day that Cameron will have a love life on the show.

Image result for Laverne as Cameron Wirth
It's also coming at this critical time not only for this country, but for my own people in all the group I intersectionally interact with.. We all need to see Cameron Wirth for various reasons on our respective television screens.

Black folks have been far too reluctant to have this necessary ongoing honest discussions about transgender issues and the undeniable fact that African descended trans peeps are an interwoven part of the kente cloth fabric of the Black community.

As much as the right wing haters would love to force us back in the closet aided and abetted by preening kneegrow ministers spouting cherry picked scriptures designed to drive a wedge in our community between Black trans and cis folks, I'm happy to tell them that we exist, and we aren't going away.

Cameron is reflective of a segment of the Black trans community my people and others need to see.far more often instead of the Jerry Springer stereotype or 'tragic transsexual' narrative playing in an endless loop in their brains.

Image result for Laverne as Cameron Wirth
The other reason why Cameron's characters is so important is like Nichols' Uhura character, it will expand in our trans kids and others minds the parameters of what is possible for trans people,

As a matter of fact, I know an amazing Black trans woman who is currently studying to become an attorney, and she is eager to see the show.

Just as seeing Uhura on television inspired a young girl growing up in Chicago named Mae Jemison to become an astronaut and another girl growing up in New York we know as Whoopi Goldberg to become an award winning actress, what impact will Laverne's portrayal of Cameron Wirth have on the next generations of trans kids?

That's a question I won't be able to definitely answer for a while, but in the interim, I'll enjoy watching Doubt starting Wednesday night at 9 PM EST while I do more hard solid thinking about the question I just posed to you. .

Laverne Cox Urges Grammy Audience To "Google Gavin Grimm"'

It's T- 48 hours until the CBS legal drama  Doubt graces our televisions screens and we get to witness Laverne Cox in her role as attorney Cameron Wirth on the show.

But before that happens on February 15,  Laverne took the Grammy stage to introduce Lady Gaga and Metallica.   While doing so she urged the audience during that time on stage to "Google Gavin Grimm".

What she was referring to was the upcoming March 29 SCOTUS case that has the potential depending how the eight current justices rule to be a watershed case moving trans human rights forward or be our Dred Scott.

It looks like people heard her and responded, since inquiries about the case spiked after she did so.

Laverne also got to finally meet my Houston homegirl at the Grammy (who was robbed for Album of the Year, BTW).  Glad I was asleep because I would have been even more pissed had I witnessed that.

And Grammy voters, you know you're getting a Shut Up Fool ward nomination for the travesty of a Black female artist not winning the Album of the year Grammy since 1999 and only three Black women in Grammy history ever doing so.

This pic of Trace and Laverne at the Grammy's is also meme worthy, and thank you ladies for doing what you do to ensure that our voices are heard in Hollywood.

Hollywood is just as important to advancing the trans rights cause as Washington DC is, and thanks Laverne and Trans Hollywood for not only doing i well, but looking fab while doing so.

Looking forward to seeing that debut episode of Doubt Wednesday night.   .

Happy Black History Month 2017

It's only 28 days every February, but as far as I'm concerned, every month is Black History Month.  It's one of the reasons as the child and godchild of historians, I named this blog TransGriot to talk about and record the history of Black trans people for future generations.

This is the first we're celebrating as the Museum of African American History in Washington DC is open and continues to draw visitors.  It's also sadly, the first one we've had with Trump as president.

Moving on from that depressing thought.

Image result for african american museum
Over 750,000 people have been welcomed through the NMAAHC doors since it opened in September, and it is now sold out through May 2017.

Hmm, will definitely have to get my passes early before Creating Change 2018 happens in DC once I find out the #CC18 dates.

Black history is not just a recitation of dates and past accomplishments of a mighty people.  Black history is also being made by Black people living in our 21st century time like POTUS 44 and countless other trailblazers..

Image result for Janet Mock speaks at women's march
Let's also not forget the important point that Black history is also being made by numerous Black trans, bi and SGL people here and across the African Diaspora in our 21st century time frame..

Image result for Trinity Neal trans kids
The biographical stories and narratives of our forebears are ones in which we can not only glean insight and strength from in troubled times, they can also serve as an inspiration to current and future generations of Black people.

Our history is also an enduring record of and emphatic proof that we're here, we've accomplished great things to benefit ourselves and humankind despite massive challenges, and are continuing to build on that legacy of achievement.

Image result for african american museum
It's also an opportunity for those of you who don't share my ethnic background to learn about some of our heroes and sheroes that we draw inspiration from   Sadly, ome of the people who need that education to happen ASAP, about our history are in our own ranks

Happy Black History Month 2017!

Are You Going To Be A Human Rights Hero Or Zero?

Image may contain: 5 people, people smiling, people standing, crowd and outdoorOver my lifetime I've heard people talk about the 60's, the wide range of protests that were happening at the time from the African-American Civil Rights movement to the Vietnam War to Stonewall, and wonder what they would have done if they had been alive or old enough to act during that time period of protests.

We are now in a moment in which you will be in a real time situation to put up or shut up about where you stand in times of challenge or controversy like the 60's were.   This Trump mispresidency is one of those times, with its daily outrages and attacks on human rights.

This is a moment that will be recorded in the history books for future historians to peruse and debate, and also a moment in which your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews will ask what did you do to resist the Trump regime?

Image may contain: 2 people, crowd
In the last week I've participated in more protests than I have in the last eight years of the Obama Administration combined, and have a feeling because of this unjust fueled by racist ignorance administration there will be more of those in my future.

This is your time to decide whether you will be a human rights hero defending our constitution or be a human rights zero that silently sits on the sidelines and allows the Trumpistas to trample on the Constitution and our human rights

So I ask you again.  Are you going to be a human rights hero or human rights zero?

Choose wisely, because the fate of the United States depends on your answer.

If You Know A Lawyer, Hug Them

Image result for Black attorney
I am blessed to know more than a few lawyers and have several friends who are either judges, in law school or are studying as we speak to take the bar exams in various states.

With this unjust and racist Trump misadministration now in place, this is a time in which we have misguided people pushing unconstitutional white supremacist policies, and they need to be called out and confronted on it..

Image result for US Constitution
The folks who are practicing constitutional, immigration, civil and criminal law are now since 12:01 PM EST on January 20 the most important people in our country.   They are the people standing between our Constitution and the Trump administration conservafools who wish to ignore, trample on it and rip it up.

They are the domestic enemies of freedom and democracy we have been warned about since childhood, and they must be confronted and utterly defeated.

Meet the lawyers who dropped everything to work for free rescuing airport detainees
That's where dedicated lawyers come in. They use their legal acumen to do just just that.  So are the organizations like the ACLU, the Transgender Law Center, TLDEF, GLAD,  The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association and countless other legal organizations across this nation who are gearing up for what is shaping up to be a challenging four years .

They will be the people doing battle in the SCOTUS, courtrooms across the nation and even onsite at protests to ensure the human rights of people and their clients are respected and protected.
Image result for aclu
So if you know a constitutional, immigration, or criminal lawyer, hug them and give them much love and respect.   We need to appreciate them for being the human rights warriors they are and have historically been.

If you are a student currently in law school or are a law school graduate about to take the bar exam, you are also getting much love and respect from me at this time as well.

While the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and civil rights marchers were doing the direct action protests it was attorneys like Charles Houston, Constance Baker Motley, and Thurgood Marshall who did battle in courtrooms across the nation to take down Jim Crow segregation and fight for our humanity and human rights,

Our attorneys will be vital over the next four years in defending human rights and the humanity of marginalized citizens.

So Bernie, Stein and Johnson Voters, Enjoying The Presidency You Enabled?

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, standing and text
So Bernie, Stein and Johnson voters, after four days of this disastrous presidency that is worse than I even foresaw, I have one question for you.

Do you still delusionally think that Hillary Clinton is 'worse than Trump'?

Hey, Clinton, her supporters  President Obama and yours truly tried to warn y'all before November 8, but y'all were all into your foaming at the mouth Hillary hate and your fee fees.  Well, your irrational hatred of her and third party votes are going to cost us all the progressive progress we've made

You had the right to vote third party and cast your votes however you wished to do so.   But 2016 was not the year for a protest vote or trying to dismiss what Hillary, President Obama and others were saying on the campaign as 'scare tactics'.

And if you're upset because I'm once again pointing out y'all are responsible, and especially if you lived in a swing state for enabling this disgusting presidency, too damn bad.

Well, after four days of this Trump misadministration, are you scared for this country now?.

Melania Doesn't Get Any Love From Me Either

Oh, don't mind me, Donald, I'll be along eventually...
I'm starting to see people in liberal progressive world wanting to give Melania a pass for being married to and repeatedly dissed by Twitler.

But just like her reprehensible hubby, Melania's not getting any love from me, especially after TransGriot reader Vanity Wilde pointed me to this April 20, 2011 interview on the Joy Behar Show in which Melania went all in like her hubby on the birther attacks on President Obama starting about the 1:52 mark of this interview..

Kinda ironic that the same POTUS she attacked back in 2011 was the one classily rescuing her from that real time embarrassing situation broadcast around the country and the world when her deplorable hubby dissed her on Inauguration Day.

melania-left-behind-2

So naw Melania, you're NOT my FLOTUS either  You gets no love from moe or my people for attacking the legitimacy of the twice duly elected President Obama.

You wish you could be a FLOTUS who could walk in Michelle's double Ivy League degreed pumps.

So for the next four years, you don't get any love from me either.

Last Full Day Of The Obama Adminstration

Image result for President OBama Last press Conference

Note I didn't say 'potentially'. I have the confidence to say that he WILL be a great president. If we were going to have a first Black president I like my African descended brothers and sisters wanted him or her to be the best and brightest member of our community. Hopefully at the end of his second term, the nation will be lamenting the fact that we couldn't elect him to a third term.-TransGriot  February 28, 2009 'Why Barack Obama Will Be A Great President

It doesn't end until 12:01 PM EST tomorrow, but today sadly is the last day of the historic administration of President Barack Hussein Obama.

The POTUS had his final press conference yesterday which i didn't get to see because i was traveling, but it probably was a blessing in disguise because I probably would have started crying during it.

He talks about the role of the press and the Chelsea Manning pardon among other subjects, and for those of you who have asked me about my feelings about Manning, I'm pondering it and you'll see it in a later TransGriot post.

Back to this one.   I'm going to miss this president for a lot of reasons, but the most important one was here was a man who was born nine months before I was, shares my African heritage, and excelled in the office despite many challenges and a Republican Party unified in racist opposition to him that gleefully wanted him to fail.

Image result for President Obama first family
This is also a man who had a scandal free administration, and made me feel as though my country was in good hands with him in the Oval Office.   He also made me feel for the first time in my life unabashedly proud of my president and this country.

He has also been the best president ever when it comes to not only acknowledging we trans folks exist, but expanding and defending our human rights.

I'm also going to miss our lovely FLOTUS, who Michelle, who made history of her own in becoming the first African-American woman ever to be the First Lady, and did so with style, dignity and class even as people irrationally hated on her.

We also go the pleasure of watching your your daughters Sasha and Malia grow up into amazing young women.

Mr. President, thanks for eight amazing years, and wish it could have been longer.  I confidently wrote eight years ago that you would be an outstanding president and you have made me look like a genius for saying it.

Mr. President, thanks for eight wonderful years that have flown by.  Unfortunately some idiot that claims he's going to Make America Great Hate Again takes over at 12:01 PM tomorrow

Happy Birthday Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr 2017

Image result
Today would have been the 88th birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was born in Atlanta on this date in 1929.   The federal holiday is tomorrow

Dr King's birthday and holiday are falling as we are in the last week of the administration of the best president of my lifetime and a president who shares my ethnic heritage.    He is being succeeded on Friday by a boorish, nekulturny racist and sexist loudmouth who has less class than President Obama has in his pinky finger.

President Obama, and the country deserved better than what were about to get

Dr King if he were here would be appalled at the looming Trump presidency and the people that are filling leadership positions in it.   He would especially be alarmed, as his wife Coretta was back in 1986 that Jeff Sessions was nominated by this man to be our nation's attorney general.

In a time when it's hard for us to generate infinite hope in the face of the crushing disappointment of the November 8 election results, it's what we must do right now..   Our kids are counting on us to fight for them and the America we want to see harder than this conservafool nightmare the right wing fought hard for decades to make happen.

We must resist the GOP tyranny and Twitler with every fiber of our beings and resolve to crush Trump's enormous ego still further by working our azzes off over the next four years to make him a one term president.

We also need to in liberal progressive world fight our common enemy instead of each other.  I need far left people to fight the Republicans harder than they do the Democrats.  We're not your enemy. The Republicans crapping on the Constitution are.   How about you deal with that reality?

Dr. King once said, 'The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

Looks like we're about to find out where a lot of people stand on both sides of the political aisle in this challenging and controversial moment of American history.

Wear Black On Inauguration Day!

I'm going to be in Philadelphia for Creating Change when it happens, but I already know what color I'm going to wear on that day:  Black/

Hey, it's what you wear to a funeral, and at 12:01 PM EST hope is going to die 139 miles away from me along with the America we got to enjoy under the Obama Administration when Twitler gets sworn in.

And make sure your TV is turned to any channel not showing his inauguration or watch Netflix.

While it may be a glorious day for white supremacists and Republicans, it won't be for the 65, 844, 954 Americans who didn't want this vile waste of DNA in the Oval Office.

So what do you do when you attend a funeral and are paying your respects to the deceased?  You wear black.   .That'a what I'm planning to do on this Inauguration Day in protest of Trump desecrating the presidency and the White House

Hell, I may even wear my Black beret with it.

So for those of you who wish to join me across the nation and the world in protest this outrage, please join me in wearing black next Friday.

Anthony Anderson's On Point 'Black-ish' January 11 Episode Monologue

And soon, Dre — who'd remained uncharacteristically silent on the matter up until that point — lays bare the betrayal he feels, not only from the election results, but from the conversations in its wake.
Last night i was busy flipping channels between Star and the Black-ish episode entitled 'Lemons' that focused on the tensions that have been exacerbated in this country since Trump (yuck) won this contentious 2016 presidential election with three million fewer votes.

Anthony Anderson's character Andre Johnson during his monologue encapsulated many of the feelings I and many African Americans have concerning this recent election and the subsequent loud and contentious debates that in some cases have ended friendships.

Here's the full monologue.

“You don’t think I care about this country? I love this country, even though at times it doesn’t love me back. For my whole life, my parents, my grandparents, me — for most black people, this system has never worked for us. But we still play ball, try to do our best to live by the rules even though we knew they would never work out in our favors. Had to live in neighborhoods that you wouldn’t drive through; send our kids to school with books so beat up you couldn’t read them; worked jobs that you wouldn’t even consider in your nightmares.
Black people wake up every day believing that our lives are going to change, even though everything around us says it’s not. Truth be told, you ask most black people and they’d tell you that no matter who won this election, they didn’t expect the hood to get better. But they still voted, because that’s what you’re supposed to do.
You don’t think I’m sad that Hillary didn’t win? That I’m not terrified about what Trump’s about to do? I’m used to things not going my way. I’m sorry that you’re not and it’s blowing your mind, but excuse me if I get a little offended that I didn’t see all of this outrage when everything was happening to all of my people since we were stuffed on boats in chains. I love this country as much if not more than you do, and don’t you ever forget that.”

Truth.  I emphatically get what that Anderson monologue to the tune of Billie Holiday's Strange Fruit was saying about many African Americans feeling like this country doesn't love us back.
I expressed the same sentiments in a TransGriot post I wrote in the immediate aftermath of Trump being declared the winner.
Right now I'm once again processing the fact that my country hates me.   That's not something I wanted to or needed to ponder before going to sleep tonight.
-TransGriot,  November 9, 2016

I hear 'I hate you' with every white person gleefully cheering for Trump. stating they proudly voted for him or expressing pride that he won.  I hear that with every white supremacist I see giving Nazi salutes while hollering 'Hail Trump' and every smirking Bernie or Buster who loudly and wrongly claims Bernie would have won.

That's why he is #notmypresident, and I will never respect him.  I will gleefully be dancing in the streets when he leaves office on January 20, 2021

How Many Transphobic Hate Sermons Were Preached This Morning?

Pope Francis
We have had two trans people of color killed in Mississippi and South Dakota in the first full week of 2017 along with anti-trans legislation being introduced by Republican controlled legislatures in several states including my home state of Texas.

The Roman Catholic Church has hated on us since 2003 and Pope Francis along with is predecessor Pope Benedict have repeatedly made hateful statements about trans people   The Southern Baptist Church has made it clear since 2014 they hate the trans community, and so has the Republican Party and the conservative movement in terms of being gleeful oppressors of the trans community.  The TERF's (trans exterminationist radical 'feminists' ) have enthusiastically hated on us since the early 70's.

Even the Ku Klux Klan is joining World War T.   It's a culture war we didn't ask for, but we have no choice but to fight for our humanity and human rights against this Axis of Transphobic Evil and win it.

It should be obvious to anyone paying attention that the humanity of trans people is under attack. It made me wonder before I went to sleep last night while pondering the ongoing rebukes of Kim Burrell for her anti-gay hate speech she spewed from the pulpit at her northside Houston church she tried to claim was a sermon, how many anti-trans hate sermons would be preached from pulpits this morning?

If that number is above one, it's still one too many.   And yeah, if you open that Bible you barely read to the Ten Commandments, it says you should not be bearing false witness against thy neighbor.

Thy neighbor includes your transgender neighbor.   Far too much false witnessing happening when it comes to the trans community from our willfully ignorant opposition, and especially those of you who claim you are Christians but are really serving someone else.

Before you Satan's Helpers attempt to step to me and start talking about 'what the Bible says' about transpeople or quoting Pope Francis or other faith based hatemongers, here's some words from Jesus himself in Matthew 19:12 about eunuchs.

For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Eunuchs by the way, are the equivalent of today's trans people/   Trans people are part of the diverse mosaic of human life, and we inhabit every continent on Earth save for Antarctica.   It wouldn't surprise me to hear about a girl or guy like us actually being at one of those research stations at the frozen bottom of the world.

Translation:  We're transgender humans. We inhabit every nation,   We're amazing, talented people We aren't going anywhere, and our humanity and human rights are not up for political or theological debate.

Many of us are also part of various faith traditions including Christianity.  Deal with it.

Just so we're clear on this last point, faux faith based transphobic bigots, transphobia wrapped in bigotry is still transphobia and will be resisted with every fiber of our beings.  Your attempts in 2017 of Bible belting us will be rebuked and called out by me, my community and our allies.

It is my hope and prayer that the majority of sermons preached today here in Houston, across the state of Texas, the nation and the world were more like Rev. Denise Junious' sermon.she shared with the congregation at Resurrection MCC today and not the transphobic variety

There are far more pastors like Rev Junious, Rev. Lura Groen, Bishop Yvette Flunder and countless others around the nation and the world who get it that loving thy neighbor includes your TBLGQ neighbors as well.

For those of you who choose hating TBLGQ people over loving them, your religion is nothing but as the Rev.Dr. Martin Luther King ,Jr stated, a 'dry as dust religion'.

Any religion which professes to be concerned with the souls of men and is not concerned with the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them, and the social conditions that cripple them, is a dry-as-dust religion.

Meditate on that, and y'all have a blessed day.

Merry Christmas Family

Image may contain: 6 people, people smiling
Merry Christmas TransGriot Readers!

Merry Christmas to all my family, cis, trans  blood and chosen family.  As I like to remind everyone, you family expands, not contracts after a transition.  Your life also gets better once you are able to live in your truth.

And yes, I'm in a wonderful mood because my Texans beat th Bengals last night to capture another AFC South title and an NFL  playoff spot

While the end of 2016 is sucking royally, on balance it was an amazing year for me, I got to spend quality time with some of the peeps I love and care about, go back to Louisville for a week, and be honored with awards from GLAAD, the Houston GLBT Caucus and Harvard's Phillip Brooks House Association.

I got to go to the White House and spend quality time with Laverne Cox, Janet Mock, Jazz Jennings and Angelica Ross just for starters   I also got to meet new people and some amazing trans kids

So yeah I'm counting my 2016 blessings, and hope 2017 leads to even more

As to what I'm going to do today.  looks like it's going to be a quiet one.   Dee Dee is house sitting for a friend, so I have the place to myself until New Year's Day.   I probably call a few friends and check on them to see how their holidays are going.

So unless there is some breaking news somewhere or some thought pops up that is commanding me to put it on electronic paper, I'm planning on taking the day off writing wise.

See y'all on the other side of Christmas Day!

Why I'm Still Pissed At The Bernie Or Busters & Third Party Voters

Yep, still pissed off over the results of the 2016 election and specifically at two groups, the Bernie or Busters and third party voters.   Your talking points, excuses, and spin are getting more annoying and aggravating by the day as you realize too late just how badly you screwed this country up over your white privileged fee fees.

One of the excuses I'm so tired of Bernie or Busters regurgitating is the 'Hillary was a terrible candidate' lie.
Yeah, she was so terrible she got 3 million more votes nationally than Trumplethinskin.
Image result for Bernie or Busters
The bottom line is you are responsible for greasing the skids for the election of Donald Trump

No, it's not about those who chose not to vote, who were suppressed from doing so or whatever other excuse that you are trying to float out there to make yourself feel better about greasing the skids for the Trump presidency.

I'm tired of people (and predominately far left white people) trying to riverdance away from the fact they let lies about Hillary Clinton cloud their electoral judgment and enabled his election.
I'm also tired of them ignoring the fact that white supremacist racism also played a role in his election along with a heaping helping of sexism and misogyny.
Petition creator debates with Electoral College member on 'Fox & Friends'
But then again, the Bernie or Busters are probably ignoring it because they engaged in those tactics themselves in the Democratic primary and gave Trump a road map to follow to attack her in his campaign.
It's about those folks who knew that Hillary Clinton was the only thing standing between us and a Trump presidency with the SCOTUS and everything else at stake, and you STILL voted third party with the dubious 'I'm voting my principles' excuse.
So I hope those vanillacentric privilege flavored 'principles' keep you comforted when the latest Trump/GOP/conservative movement outrage happens.   It is marginalized and non-white Americans who are going to suffer and have our human rights attacked first because of your 'principles'.
I have nothing but contempt for you, especially if you voted third party in a swing state knowing the potential consequences of that vote simply to salve your ego.  Your boy Sanders got his azz whipped in the Democratic primary by Hillary Clinton because he ran a campaign that didn't connect with non-white voters
Image result for VP Al Gore
I'm even more pissed off about the results because I lived through this bad movie before in 2000 when you far lefties didn't think Vice President Al Gore was ideologically pure enough for you.

Y'all went gaga for Ralph Nader, who didn't have a prayer of winning, and we ended up with George W. Bush as a result.   Now we have someone headed to the White House that's worse than Dubya.

And to comment on something else that I've heard in liberal-progressive world post election is the 'Hillary didn't excite me' comment.  Why should you have to be 'excited about a candidate' in order to vote for them? That's another bull feces laden excuse.

Black voters have had long lists of Democratic candidates at all levels of government who didn't excite them, but unlike you Green Tea Party peeps, we think and act strategically because we are quite aware that the Republican Party has been hostile to us for the last 40 years.

We would rather have
someone in office we can persuade to see our policy point of view at least 80% of the time than a Republican who will ignore us 100% of the time and act as a legislative oppressor.

That person in this cycle that a majority of the Black community collectively we saw as persuadable was Hillary Clinton.

Image result for President and First Lady Obama

Because we didn't want the Trumpenfuhrer to succeed President Obama, this election was deeply personal for to me and many African Americans.   That was also the case for the Latinx and Muslim community   It was also deeply personal for those of us in Trans America, because our humanity and human rights were on the ballot.   Whoever won this election would basically determine how our lives and human rights would play out over the next four years.

But you fauxgressives proved once and for all that the only thing that matters is your feelings, and not the liberal progressive causes you profess to support.

You peeps knew the stakes of this election and how important it was.  Republicans weren't enamored of Trump either, but on November 8 they got in formation and pulled the lever for him because they understand something that far too many people on the left ignorantly don't.

If you don't get your candidates elected, you can't push your policy agenda. Neither can you get liberal progressive policies from a conservative government.

Unfortunately, that lesson is going to made crystal clear over the next four years because of your fauxgressive lack of political vision..
