The 'How I Feel About Trump' FB Post Debunked

The suburban white peeps who voted for Trump are now thrying to look for ways to justify voting for him again in 2020 and not look racist while doing so,

That ship sailed a long time ago Chad and Becky.

This is why the Democrats need to laser focused from now until next November 3 on getting our base to the polls and increasing turnout amongst them instead of chasing the mythical suburban white swing voter that always keeps kicking them to the curb and voting GOP.

I ran across this problematic racist 'How I Feel About Trump' post on a former co-workers page.  She revealed she was one of the 53% of white women who voted for the Grand Wizard In Chief.

After I called out Trump, she tried to claim 'he's not racist' .  Y'all know I called that crap out with the quickness, then blocked her.

This is the mentality of white suburban Trump voters and why it may be a fool's errand for Democrats to try to flip them in 2020 when they are cosigning crap like this in order to justify their 2016 vote and try to rationalize casting another vanilla scented privileged vote for him again.

I'm going to take this original Facebook post and debunk it in sections:  My rebuttal comments will be in bold print.

***
HOW I FEEL ABOUT TRUMP

Lets say you've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your basement is infested with raccoons.. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement.. You want them gone immediately!.. You call the city and 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle the job.. But there is this one guy, and he guarantees to get rid of them, so you hire him.. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he has a plumber's crack, you simply want those raccoons gone!.. You want your problem fixed!.. He's the guy.. He's the best!

MR:   Nice try at the dog whistle racism all over this first paragraph.  Trying to cover up the slur word for Black peeps with 'raccoon'

Here's why we want Trump: Yes, he's a bit of a jerk; Yes, he's an egomaniac; but we don't care!.. The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere.. We want it all fixed!..

MR  Correction: The country is a mess because Republican politicians like Mitch McConnell are more concerned with pushing a right wing agenda than doing the people business
FYI, No human being is 'illegal'.  I want the immigration system fixed, too.  but throwing asylum seekers in Trump concentration camps and their kids in Trump baby jails isn't the way to go about ti.

We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorist..

MR I and the 65 million people who voted for Clinton do care that he's all of the above including a racist, women's crotch grabbing azzhole with zero clue about how to run a business, much less the USA. .

This country became weak and bankrupt, our enemies were making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED”.. And Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want..

MR  Our enemies are making fun of us on the world stage BECASE Trump is occupying the WH.  And there's that dog whistle racism again in the false claim that our country is being 'invaded by illegals'.

Demanding equal rights coverage promised to every American by the Constitution is not 'special rights'.   The diversity of America's population is our strength, don't something to be denigrated or feared.

And Trump has no clue what the people want.

We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, sick of the Republican Party, and sick of illegals!.. We just want this thing fixed..

MR  The rest of reality based America is sick of racist MAGA azzholes who think that immigration is a detriment to this country.   And exactly what IS the thing you want fixed?

Trump may not be a Saint, but we didn’t vote for a Pope.. We voted for a man who doesn't have lobbyist money holding him back, a man who doesn't have political correctness restraining him..

MR You also voted for a man who is racist jerk

We all know that he has been very successful, he’s a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, and he's also NOT a politician, NOT a cowardly politician.!..

MR:  If it weren't for Daddy Fred's money, he'd be swilling beers with the rest of you MAGAts.  As for a successful negotiator, Trump has proven to be anything but that.
And yes, he is a cowardly politician.  A thin skinned coward that can't handle criticism or the truth being told to him that he ain't all that, especially by Black women.

And he says he'll fix it.. And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong, or looked at and called a liar.. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair.. We just want those raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW!!!

MR  Sad that you believe the FOX Noise hype about him being a 'great POTUS".   Yeah, right.  He's the worst ever in addition to being a baldfaced liar
And once again, who are these raccoon you're babbling about that you want out of 'your house'?  Black people?  Latinx folks?  Muslims?  Asians?  TBLGQ people?

And if our house is a thinly disguised metaphor for America, this house belonged to native Americans long before you Europeans came here

You are welcome to copy/paste/share this.. Thousands of people who haven't voted in 25 years seem to be getting involved.. And the more people get this message, the more that will understand why Trump was elected..The raccoons have got to go!!!

MR Thar racist piece of orange excrement occupying the White House has to go for the sake of our country and the planet.

BTAC Forever!

Image may contain: 14 people, including Sarah Swofford, Rebecca O'Brien, Jade Lenore, Daevion Williams and Jékksyn Orilyn Ícaro, people smiling, outdoor
I'm now back on my end of I-45 after spending the past empowering week in Dallas at the 7th annual National Black Trans Advocacy Conference.

And it seems like the fact of BTAC's unapologetically Black trans self existing bothers some of you  white trans peeps.  Too bad.

BTAC is a FUBU production in which everyone is welcome to attend, but you must bear in mind if you aren't Black, when you step into our trans Wakanda it is one of the few conferences in Trans and GNC World that is grounded in unapologetic Blackness.

I'm hearing some bull feces laden chatter from assorted bitter white trans peeps that BTAC is 'racist'.
Um no boo boo kitty, let Moni school you are something.  Racism equals bigotry and prejudice plus systemic power and majority population numbers used by a majority group to retard, roll back or eviscerate the human rights progress of a minority group.

And don't even step to me with that weak azz Webster's Dictionary definition of racism or you will get your wig snacthed.

Back to talking about BTAC.

Black trans and GNC peeps being at a conference in they meet others like them and unapologetically celebrates our heritage them isn't 'racist'.   You need to stop sniffing that vanillacentric privilege and talking out the side of your neck about an event you probably haven't been to.

And for those of you who doubt what I'm saying, you can come see for yourself when we gather in Dallas again
April 22-28 for BTAC 2019.
Image may contain: 12 people, including Danae Collier, Kayla Gore, Monica Roberts, Chanel Haley, Dee Dee Watters and Tyree Williams, people smiling, people standing
BTAC wouldn't have been a needed and necessary response to the ongoing marginalization of Black trans and gender non conforming people inside and outside the TBLGQ world if a long list of white led trans and SGL 'equality' organizations like GenderPac, NCTE, HRC, TENT, and Equality Texas had been doing their job of properly advocating for Black trans people.

More importantly, when they advocate for Black trans people, they hire us to do the advocacy work for and in our community
Since you equality orgs are belatedly coming to the realization that Black trans people exist and aren't going away, BTAC will.
Image may contain: 7 people, including KD Davis, Maddox Jackson, TreShaun Pate and Dezjorn Ray Gauthier, people smiling, people standing
This BTAC event was founded and built by Black trans men, who get even less credit for the yeoman's work they have done to build our trans movement, and that crap needs to stop
For seven years BTAC has handled its business and been a healing place for the Black trans and GNC community. It also been a place where we network, learn and do so in an unapologetic Afrocentric environment that welcomes all who wish to come.

It is needed, life saving and necessary in a world hostile to Black trans and GNC bodies.  Even more galling to us, that anti-Black trans hostility also comes from white trans peeps as well
Image may contain: 10 people, including Dee Dee Watters, Renae M. Taylor and Monica Roberts, people smiling
BTAC is also a place where we can meet others who look like us, their supportive spouses and accomplices who unequivocally support Black trans people in Texas and beyond

It is also a place when we can sit down, interact with and listen to the wisdom of our trans elders.

Image may contain: Jonathan Thunderword, Monica Roberts and Triptta Cohen, people smiling, people standing
For a week we get to live in a Black Trans Wakanda in which we talk about community issues and come up with solutions to those problems.  It is a place where we get to build friendships, are affirmed, loved on and in many cases get to heal from the micro and microaggressive crap that is hurled at us the rest of the year by an increasingly hostile to trans folks outside world until it is time for us to head to our various locales to live our lives.

This year BTAC 2018 had three seminar tracks for trans women, trans men and our anchors, AKA the spouses and allies.   We're planning to add tracks for gender non conforming peeps since we had some show up this year in numbers and they expressed their desire for that t happen.

We're  planning to have tracks for our trans and GNC elders above age 55 that we call the Golden Flames because we value their wisdom, respect and love them, and realize they have much to teach us in terms of their lived experiences and our history.

We hope that one day as this BTAC conference continues to grow we will have enough parents of Black trans kids and Black trans kids in attendance so that we can programming for them as well   .

Image may contain: Dezjorn Ray Gauthier and Jessica Zyrie, people smiling, people standing and indoor
At BTAC we get to hear our names called for awards named for distinguished leaders in our community and celebrated at a Friday gala, not a TDOR that was hosted by Dezjorn Gauthier and Jessica Zyrie .

We show off our talents at Trans Manifest Live early in the conference week.   Our pageant peeps get to compete for the Mr. and MIss Black Trans International titles in which they know before even stepping on that stage that when they win that title, they will expected to be advocates during their reign for our community

And we cap it all off with the Family Day, Black Diamond Ball, and the closing interfaith ceremony led by our elders on Sunday.

Image may contain: 2 people, including Sybastian Smith, people smiling, people standing and indoor
BTAC is needed and necessary, and it needs to be supported.   It would be nice if we got to see our Black legacy civil rights orgs like the NAACP step up as sponsors for our conference or the gala.

It would be wonderful for our BTAC attendees to see our Black trans superstars in the house someday.

But until then, this Dallas, Texas based conference will continue to chug along and serve our community.   If you wanna hate on that, that's on you.

I and the rest of my BTAC fam here and increasingly around the world will smile, mark off our calendars to the last full week of April and return here to Black Trans Wakanda.

BTAC Forever!

No Guy Benson, I'm Not Tolerating Intolerance

benson
I don't want tolerance I want acknowledgment from society that my humanity and human rights as a trans person living in this country are non-negotiable.'
--TransGriot, October 2013

If you wonder why I can't stand Republicans, here the latest example of why I have zero respect for them..

One of the things I can't stand is the GOP penchant for deploying useful fools from marginalized communities to mouth the same loud and wrong policies and idiocy as the conservative white males do.

The latest example is Guy Benson, the openly gay conservafool FOX Noise commentator that went to CPAC last weekend and lost his damned mind.  While he was on a 'Religious Liberty' panel during that event that LGBT activists need to be more tolerant of anti-LGBT activists.

Not no, but HELL NO.   I nor anyone else in LGBT World is compelled to be understanding and tolerant of people that wish to oppress me and my SGL allies. Only a conservative white gay male sellout would say something that over the top stupid.

Not only will I happily join my lesbian and gay counterparts in fighting you and your conservafool friends with every fiber of my being, I'm going to make it my business to point out how ridiculous you sound.

You're suggesting  that a marginalized group facing dehumanizing attacks on multiple fronts just to exercise their constitutional rights should just roll over and meekly accept racist, bigoted and homophobic conservafool oppressors wanting to do what their great grandparents did with impunity?.

And just an FYI Guy Benson, that severe case of Stockholm Syndrome you seem to have is treatable by Obamacare.

Naw boo boo kitty, we ain't going back to those days.   Nor are we tolerating intolerance gleefully aimed at us..

Happy 86th Birthday Dr. King!

Today is what would have been the 86th birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, a man that as Tavis Smiley once called him, the greatest American our people have ever produced.

But as we approach the MLK holiday on Monday, we are in a 2015 America that is more racially divided and contentious than it was 50 years ago.   Much of  that is at the hands of a conservative movement what is stirring up racist hatred of President Obama and exacerbating racial tensions no thanks to Southern Strategy 1.0 and 2.0 to secure political power for themselves so they can enact their extremist agenda.

A far too long list of African-Americans of all ages and genders are  dying from negative interactions with police as the justice system repeatedly fails to hold them accountable.

The predominately white perpetrators of these death by po-po cases are also inflaming racial tensions from Ferguson to New York City and across the nation..

#BlackLivesMatter,  but the justice system and elements of American society seem to have failed to get the memo.

Speaking of elements of society failing to get a memo, one of them is our own African-American community when it comes to the trans, bi, lesbian and gay members of it.

Black trans women are being killed at near genocidal rates, are facing 20% unemployment, but when we are included in human rights laws to rectify that problem, sellout black ministers in concert with white  fundamentalists are fighting the advancement of those human rights.

And some of the people pimping the anti-trans lies are other Black LGB people.

Black community, Black trans people are also Black people and #BlackTransLivesMatter.

As a proud African-American who happens to be transgender, I'm going to do my part to help drive home that reality.

I would rather be in the position of helping uplift the entire community.   I despise being constantly being put in the position of fighting ignorant elements of it who because of my trans status want to erase my Blackness and my femininity.

And I ain't having it.   Until they get it through their thick skulls that transpeople did not forfeit our Black cards when we transitioned, fight I will.

So yes Dr. King, we have some work to do in our Black community ranks as we seek to build the greater Beloved Community you so often spoke about.

And while we've had some setbacks with renewed attacks on our voting rights, advancing human rights, the war on poverty, and economic prosperity for all, we are even more determined to get to the Promised Land of freedom and equality and fight with every fiber of our beings with our allies to help make it happen..

Happy birthday Dr. King.   Hopefully on your 87th birthday I'll have better news to report as to how we're faring as a people and a nation since you were tragically taken from us..

What I'd Like For Transitioning Trans WOC

Yesterday I got an opportunity to participate in a Twitter discussion on the topic of stopping anti-trans violence disproportionately aimed at trans women of color moderated by Kylar Broadus.

It took place for an hour starting at 2 PM EDT, and if you wish to check out the Twitter chat thread, you can search the ‪#‎StopTransMurders‬ thread to read mine and the comments of others on that topic.

When Katrina Goodlett pointed out she was about to reach her 35th birthday in two weeks, it was a sad reminder that is the average life expectancy for TWOC's because of anti-trans violence aimed at trans women of color, and it drove me to write this comment in response:

I would like for a transitioning TWOC to expect to live her life past her 35th birthday ‪#‎StopTransMurders‬

I didn't stop there.  I posted on my Facebook page I would like for that transitioning TWOC to have a roof over her head, a job at a living wage, food in her pantry, medical care and clothes in her closet.

And that resulted in the thinking that resulted in what else I'd like to see for transitioning trans women of color.

I'd like for a transitioning
TWOC to have caring, loyal and supportive family and friends enveloping her in love and support so she can concentrate on being the best person she can be.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to have her life respected and protected.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to not have to deal with negative law enforcement attitudes that manifest themselves into when they see her walking down the street, she's a target for harassment, she gets stopped and frisked for Walking While Trans, or worse.

I'd like a transitioning TWOC to recognize she is part of a long line of fabulous women with a proud heritage, has sisters cis and trans, and she is not alone.
I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to have pride in herself, know her history, and be proud of being a trans woman of color.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to be able to get her name and identity document changes without drama or hassle from bureaucrats.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to be able to love and marry the person of whatever gender that loves them, be they cis or trans without stigma.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to see the day that people who love them and desire them as life partners aren't ashamed of them.

I'd like for a transitioning TWOC to see the day that cis women recognize that trans women are women, and we are your allies and sisters in the struggle.

I like for a transitioning TWOC to see the day that the Transgender Day Of Remembrance becomes obsolete.

But that is a long way from happening until the lives of trans women of color, and especially Black trans women matter not only to ourselves, but our own people.

But a sistah can dream can't she?   This is one dream I'd definitely like to make a reality.

45 Years Later...

June 28, 1969 was the hot, sultry New York night 45 years ago when during another one of those harassing police raids on the Stonewall Inn, our folks had reached a 'We've had enough of this crap' moment.

Instead of submitting quietly to another police raid, the Stonewall Inn patrons that night, the transpeeps, butch lesbians and other peeps of color unwanted in the more upscale New York City gay oriented spots, followed Sylvia Rivera's lead after she threw the first bottle (and some peeps claim a shoe) at the NYPD po-po's and jumped off the Stonewall Rebellion

45 years later it's transpeople of color taking their rightful place once again in leading this movement after being dumped out of it in the early 70's.   Isn't it an interesting coincidence that as we stepped up to lead and became more visible, forward progress on trans issues followed?

Frankly, I don't think it's a coincidence at all, but a much needed development in our ongoing and evolving international trans human rights struggle.   We need to be reminding people that you can't spell Stonewall without the 'T' even though at times the GL community tried to pinkwash us out of the collective memory of an event and strongarm us out of a movement we jumped off.

45 years later, while Sylvia if she were still here would be pleased at some aspects of our progress, she'd be upset about others. She'd be pleased to see that some of the leaders of the trans moment are Latin@ and how non-white transpeople are unapologetically owning our power.   She'd be pissed off that New York State still does not have a human rights law that covers transpeople (GENDA) and how that happened.

Sylvia would also be pleased to see us taking the next steps like running for public office. building economic power in our communities and talking the lead role in telling our stories and defining ourselves to the media .

As a vehement opponent of the Vietnam War  (and I argued with her about this and LBJ's legacy) she would have a problem with trans people openly serving in the military, but if I got her to to grudgingly see the problem in her viewpoint that LBJ wasn't 100% evil, I think she'd be able to see the wisdom of allowing transpeople so inclined to do so the opportunity to serve their country.

But one point I'd believe she'd definitely echo is that 45 years later, our work to see trans human rights coverage ensconced in our nation and around the world isn't done.

Revenge Of The Conservafools

I'm so tired of this 'Revenge Of The Conservafools' horror movie that has been playing for far too long in America's political life

Because the conservative movement is pissed off a Black president got elected in 2008 and reelected despite their millions of dollars, loud propaganda and Massive Resistance 2.0 in Congress, they are taking it out on Black people and the country.

Conservatism is a failed political philosophy, and they can't win elections without cheating.

See them cut the social safety net! See them diss women and eviscerate a woman's right to choose! See them roll back voting rights! See them brazenly suck up to billionaires while hatin' on the poor. See them kill union organizing rights! See them refuse to raise the minimum wage while their obscene corporate profits grow.

See them lie on cable news and talk radio while doing all that shady crap. See them claim they have the support of 'The American People' while doing so.

See the horror of large numbers of stupid, racist tea bag holding bigots voting for them against their own economic interests as the 1% maniacally laughs at them from their quiet rooms.

Rated GOP

Starring John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, Ted Cruz, Rush Limbaugh and Reince Priebus.

Produced and directed by the Koch Brothers.

Time for this horror movie to end.  You can make that happen by voting to throw the GOP bums out on November 4.

The Gay, Inc Dictionary

Like the Religious Reich and the conservafool movement, Gay Inc. twists words and phrases for propaganda value and effect as well to pimp its message.  As a TransGriot public service, it's time to enlighten you on some of the ones you'll see crop us in the Gayosphere, their press releases  and other Internet discourse.

ally  a cis or trans person that unquestioningly follows their lead on marriage equality issues or agrees with their 'incremental progress' approach for trans rights.

crumbs  any gay or lesbian favorable law or policy change that benefits either them or the trans community and isn't same gender marriage or DOMA repeal

discrimination free zone   A jurisdiction that has a GL only protective law on the books and marriage equality, but no trans rights coverage

equality   the push to have gay and lesbian people acquire the same white privilege infused 'special right' to discriminate against other marginalized groups

hater  a cis or gay lesbian or trans person that questions the 'all marriage all the time' strategy or disagrees with their 'incremental progress' approach for trans rights.

homophobe: cis or trans person who calls out gay people for their shady and questionably ethical behavior in online discourse

homophobia  Any commentary by cis or trans people that brings up their history of stabbing transpeople in the back on civil rights issues or criticizes their nekulturny or shady behavior.

incremental progress   Political strategy of pushing inadequate, flawed or unjust trans rights bills compiled by Gay, Inc 'equality' orgs that not only stretches out the time it takes to pass such legislation, it doesn't fix the problems that plague transpeople

just like you  see 'equality' definition.    The dog whistle codeword for the strategy.

out of state activists   people, bloggers or national organizations who oppose bad trans legislation authored by GL people

playing by the rules  The demand that legislators stop what they're doing to see Gay, Inc lobbyists, friendly legislators or allies pushing legislation of importance to the GL community while ignoring trans lobbyists, friendly legislators and cis, trans or GL allies opposed to that legislation

Not An April Fool's Joke

Kat Rose of ENDAblog brought this to my attention.  It's a  response to a comment I left over at Pam's House Blend on one of the ongoing contentious Maryland HB 235 threads popping up on an TBLG blog near You.    Kat's post was entitled Sadly Not An April Fool's Joke  and was highlighting Autumn Sandeen's response to the one sentence one I'd left on Autumn's original PHB post. .

Hey, I have love and respect for Autumn.   On this HB 235 issue, we're on opposite sides. .

And this was my PHB response to the comment.  Enjoy.

If we in the trans community and more specifically, white trans people in positions of influence in GL orgs keep accepting piss poor bills written by our so-called ‘allies’ because we’re desperate to have anything that covers trans people, what does that say about us as a community, Autumn?

Morgan Meneses-Sheets and EQ MD had the choice of either accepting a civil unions bill or same gender marriage. She and EQ MD chose ‘marriage or bust’.
We know how that worked out. But they chose the hard route. Why is that route NOT acceptable for trans legislation? Can somebody on the Yes for HB 235 side explain to me in a cogent manner why it’s okay for GL people to demand first class legislation and we trans people can’t?

Why is it a problem when transpeople, and especially trans people of color continually tell you and point out from our perspective and lived experience as lifelong marginalized people (not Johnny and Janie come latelies to minority status who grew up ensconced in white privilege) that incremental rights for transpeople is not an option?

If you give the haters a millimeter to discriminate with loophole filled legislation, they will take it and run with it.
The people that are taking the brunt of the anti-trans violence don’t look like the staff of EQ MD.

It is why I and others are insistent that trans rights bills be comprehensive, airtight and the best we can possibly write because we are not going to get many opportunities to pass trans specific legislation despite the spin coming from EQ MD and you HB 235 supporters.

2012 is an election year. How likely is any civil rights legislation going to get done when the legislators will be facing the voters that November?

So why waste those opportunities with piss poor bills that don’t FIX the problems that ail our community?

Hell No, Chuck- Keep Your Minstrel Show Money!

As  many of you loyal TransGriot Readers know I began a fundraiser that's going to run until November 16 designed to not only get a new computer for the blog, but have some money set aside for emergency repairs.

I thank everyone who has contributed so far, and I'm 7% of the way to my goal.

While checking my e-mail discovered I had another $5 contribution and checked to see who the donation was from so I could properly thank the person.

Who was it from?   The person who does that jacked up New Millenium minstrel show

I sent this one back.

I have expressed my feelings on more than a few occasions in this blog and elsewhere across the Net about how insulting that show is to me, my people and African descended women and our allies in general, so what made you think I would accept that from you?

To paraphrase a shero of mine, the late Rep. Shirley Chisholm,  I'm unbought and unbossed and plan to stay that way.

So hell no Chuck, keep your money.   My integrity and editorial independence is worth far more than $5.
