Sieg Heil Y'all-GOP Texas Is NOT A Democracy

Gov. Ann Richards and Rep Barbara Jordan must be looking down upon us from their heavenly perch, shaking their heads and wondering what the hell is going on in our beloved Lone Star State?

Two words: Teahadist Republifools

And if you thought I was being over the top partisan when I called the Republican controlled Texas government 'neo-fascist GOP oppressors' and I referred to Gov. Rick Perry and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst as Tex Fuhrer and Deputy Tex Fuhrer, peep this hearing on SB 2 in which Sarah Slamen is dragged from the mike by jack booted stormtroopers  DPS troopers

Sieg Heil, Y'all

Reason Number Whatever Why I Don't Vote For Republicans

Erika HaroldIf your political party had a 33 year old African-American Harvard Law school graduate who was a former 2003 Miss America with a platform of advocating for abstinence and against school bullying, what would you do if she was announcing at her old high school she was running for Congress under your party banner?

If you're the GOP, you call her a 'street walker', 'Miss Queen', and a 'love child'.

In the latest example of  Republifool minority outreach gone wild, Erika Harold announced in her hometown of Urbana, IL on June 4 that she was going to run for Congress in Illinois 13th Congressional District and challenge first term congressman Rodney Davis (R), who barely won the seat in the 2012 election cycle.

And how was that news greeted by the GOP?   With this racist e-mail rant from Jim Allen, a Davis supporter and the chair of the Montgomery County, IL Republican Party that was sent to Republican News Watch’s Editor-in-Chief Doug Ibendahl.

Rodney Davis will win and the love child of the D.N.C. will be back in Shitcago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires.
The truth is Nancy Pelosi and the DEMOCRAT party want this seat. So they called RINO Timmy Johnson to be their pack mule and get little queen to run.
Ann Callis gets a free ride through a primary and Rodney Davis has a battle.
The little queen touts her abstinence and she won the crown because she got bullied in school,,,boohoo..kids are cruel, life sucks and you move on..Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS…These pimps want something they can’t get,,, the seat held by a conservative REPUBLICAN  Rodney Davis and Nancy Pelosi can’t stand it..
Little Queenie and Nancy Pelosi have so much in common but the one thing that stands out the most.. both are FORMER QUEENS, their crowns are tarnished and time has run out on the both of them..

Former Miss America Called 'Street Walker' by Local GOP Leader (ABC News)Earth to Erika, the party you claim to be a member has a chair of a local party organization who supports your opponent and just publicly disrespected you.   It leads me to ask the question what's a smart woman like you doing even running for Congress as a Republican?

It's clear these knuckle dragging misogynist troglodytes aren't going to change.  They are threatened by and still hate any woman who is  smarter than they are.  They have a special frothing at the mouth hatred as evidenced by their dislike of your fellow Illinoisian First Lady Michelle Obama for Black women who are smarter than they are.

So why contribute a seat to their House majority that is virulently anti-Black, racist to its rotten core and anti-woman should you win it?  If I were you I'd run, beat Davis' azz in the primary, and if I went on to win the November 2014 election immediately announce after it was certified that I'm switching to the Democratic Party just to spite them.

And yep, crap like this is exactly why Black folks can't stand the Republican Party and we justifiably look side eyed at any Black person who even runs as one.  If they're disrespecting  an obviously qualified candidate like Erika Harold, what do they say about the rest of us who aren't in their party?

Umm, never mind, I just remembered the comment Romney made about us wanting free stuff among other racist GOP bull feces in the aftermath of the 2012 election cycle.

And it's why I continue to call the Republican Party the political arm of whiteness and white supremacy.

GetEqual Activists Arrested Protesting John Boehner's Office

GetEqual LGBT activists arrested at John Boehner's office
Hmm.   Seems like GetEqual heard the comments coming from moi and other Black LGBT peeps who correctly noted their far too frequent penchant for protest actions aimed at the POTUS and FLOTUS.

They pale in comparison to any similar ones aimed at their ongoing and unrepentant oppressors in the Republican Party.

Right on cue after taking a major negative publicity hit for another protest gone bad, we have eight GetEqual activists show up in House Speaker John Boehner's (R-OH) office demanding a vote on ENDA and getting busted for it.

See this broken clock moment for yourselves.

Still doesn't erase the negative optics of what Ellen Sturtz did, but it's a start.

Damn Secretary Powell, You Just Now Figuring Out The GOP is Intolerant?

You just now figuring out Secretary Powell that your party has a 'dark vein of intolerance'?

Hell, any African-American on the street and yours truly could have told you that.

GOP 2012 Christmas Gift

What the Republican Party will deservedly get for Christmas besides the electoral beatdown President Obama gave them.

California GOP An Early Sign Of Nationwide GOP Collapse?

There an old axiom in American politics that states, 'As California goes, so goes the nation'..

There's an interesting article in the New York Times that discusses the current state of the California Republican Party.   The same party that produced presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan and gave Sen.Dianne Feinstein the scare of her political life during the 1994 midterms is now a weakened shell of its former self.

They have shrunk to the point in which the state is a Democratic political bastion and despite the 2010 Teapublican wave, couldn't break through and lost high profile races for the governorship and the US senate.

Registered Republicans have fallen to just 30% of the electorate, and that's not enough to win a statewide race when 43% of the electorate in California is made up of registered Democrats and another 21% is made up of independent voters.

“The institution of the California Republican Party, I would argue, has effectively collapsed,” said current MSNBC commentator Steve Schmidt, who once worked as a senior adviser to former governor Arnold  Schwarzenegger (R).

“It doesn’t do any of the things that a political party should do. It doesn’t register voters. It doesn’t recruit candidates. It doesn’t raise money. The Republican Party in the state institutionally has become a small ideological club that is basically in the business of hunting out heretics.”

What caused the fall of the once mighty California Republican Party?    The self inflicted troubles go back to their political high point in the state in 1994 when Governor Pete Wilson (R) and California Republicans successfully pushed the anti-Latino Proposition 187 that was later found to be unconstitutional.  While it unified the GOP base, it pissed off Latinos just as their numbers were exploding as a critical voting bloc in the state and Republicans have paid for it in statewide races ever since.

The increasingly batturd crazy Southern based national GOP is also alienating California independent voters they need to win in those state, county and local races in addition to the Latino and African-American ones they already pissed off.

Being on the wrong side of  gay rights, environmental issues, immigration, and abortion.also doesn't help them in this state either.

Starting with this 2012 presidential election cycle, California is now worth 55 huge electoral votes through 2020.  The Democratic presidential candidate having that many electoral votes as a building block in their electoral vote calculations is a major political headache for the national GOP.

Today the Republicans in California are a shell of their former selves with no Republicans in statewide offices, and the California state legislature, both US senate seats a majority of the states US congressional delegation, and the governor's mansion in Sacramento firmly in Democratic hands.

The deep bench of young, diverse political talent in California has the Democratic label, and the Republicans have become so focused on ideological purity that whatever moderate candidates they do have left in the party are leaving or running as independents.

While that's music to my ears as a Democrat living under the opposite political reality situation in Texas that demographics and a resurgent Texas Democratic Party are slowly climbing out of, democracy is served best when we have two healthy parties competing honestly and vigorously for everyone's votes.  .

The question I'm pondering is this.   Is what happened to the California GOP a tale that is about to replicate itself at the national GOP level and in other state Republican parties?

Or is this just a temporary situation they can come back from?   That's a question political scientists and political junkies will also be keenly interested in observing over the next few election cycles.

Told Y'all The Republicans Were Neo-Confederates

I had a proud conservative ask me recently why Black people hated conservatism and the Republican Party.  He didn't like my answer when I told him because his party had become the home of racist neo-Confederate idiots and people like him were turning a blind eye to it.

He tried to play the 'both parties do it' card that all conservatives resort to when they are confronted about their party's frequent bigotry eruptions, but I wasn't having that.   I pointed out that the Dixecrats have called the GOP home since the late 60's and long ugly racist history the Republican party has had since then.

The recent events have only added an exclamation point to what I told this proud conservative.

The firestorm hasn't died down yet from the comments that Arkansas Republifool state legislator Jon Hubbard made about slavery being 'a blessing in disguise for Blacks' and now another Arkansas Republican has put the pointed hood on, poured gasoline on the fire and co-signed what his KKKonservative KKKolleague has said.

Arkansas state rep Loy Mauch is the latest conservafool to go down the Lost Cause path by being outed by the Arkansas Times for being a pro-slavery pro-Confederacy defender in letters to the editor dating back over a decade.

Here's a sample of Loy Mauch's Greatest Hits:.

“If slavery were so God-awful, why didn’t Jesus or Paul condemn it, why was it in the Constitution and why wasn’t there a war before 1861? The South has always stood by the Constitution and limited government. When one attacks the Confederate Battle Flag, he is certainly denouncing these principles of government as well as Christianity.”

Nowhere in the Holy Bible have I found a word of condemnation for the operation of slavery, Old or New Testament. If slavery was so bad, why didn’t Jesus, Paul or the prophets say something?
This country already lionizes Wehrmacht leaders. They go by the names of Lincoln, Grant, Sherman, Sheridan, Custer, etc. These Marxists not only destroyed the Constitution they were sworn to uphold, but apostatized the word of God. Either these depraved infidels or the Constitution and Scriptures are in error. I’m more persuaded by the word of God.
Yeah right, Loy Mauch.   You're still mad because the South (thank God) and your ancestors lost the War to Perpetuate Slavery their traitorous azzes started.   Get over it and the fact you can't own me or any other African-American much less treat us like crap because of it.

The Arkansas Republican Party can say all they want or put out the canned press release that they repudiate those remarks and they don't support these people, but the campaign money flowing into their campaigns and the support from US Rep Tim Griffin (R-AR) says otherwise.

And you're on the list for this week's Shut up Fool Award.

When The Election's In Doubt, GOP Goes Racist

When the GOP starts losing in an election cycle, it's a given that since the only demographic they lead in any election cycle is white men, they will use tactics that attempt to stir up white male resentment and racism.

Hey, they've been falling for it over 150 years, and refined it with the Southern Strategy, so it works.

In the latest example of GOP racism for fun and electoral profit, we head to Massachusetts, where Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) is now trailing in his race with Elizabeth Warren despite the massive cash being pumped into his coffers in this overwhelmingly blue state.

So what does he do to overcome that deficit?   Can you say race bait?    Thought you could.

But this is why Scott Brown and the people who back him are 'scurred' of her.

I find it arrogant, amazing (but not surprising) that almighty whitey Scott Brown seems to think that he can determine based on her appearance alone that Elizabeth Warren isn't Native American.

But that's par for the racist political course for GOP candidates.   When they're losing, they go negatively racist.to attempt to carry the electoral day.   Massachusetts voters, I hope you'll punish him for it.

Mitt Hates 47% Of This Country-And The Feeling's Mutual

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what... Our message of low taxes doesn't connect...so my job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the five to 10 percent in the center that are independents, that are thoughtful...." Mitt Romney at fundraiser.
Since you just accused 47% of this country of being moochers, show us your tax returns for the last ten years, Mitt.

I already had a deep mistrust of Mitt Romney's out of touch behind and the smirking arrogance of him and his wannabee First Lady wife Ann.   But the comment that broke during last night's news cycle left no doubt as to who and what party's candidates I will be voting for on October 22, the first day that we can early vote in Texas.

I was already quite determined to cast a ballot in this election cycle after the GOP controlled Texas Legislature's attempt to suppress  my ability to vote got legally pimp slapped in federal court..

Now this most recent attempt to suppress non-white votes in Texas  combined with this insult has just poured gasoline on the fire.

And note to you knee-grows considering sitting out the election because you're 'upset' about President Obama expressing support for same gender marriage.    Are you crazy?

We got bigger issues to deal with in the African-American community than you allegedly being pissed off about same gender marriage.  Mitt Romney damned sure doesn't care about us enough to even come to our communities and respectfully ask for our vote.   And you fools are going to turn your back on the sitting African-American president who has asked for your votes because of some sellout conservapimp preacher flapping his gums?

If you knee-grows want to be stupid enough to fall for that okey-doke and let the vanillacentric privileged conservafools at NOM who don't have yours or our community's best interest at heart play y'all like that, be my guest.

But you have my utter contempt for spitting on the blood that was spilled at the Edmund Pettus Bridge by Rep. John Lewis and others for you stupid cookie chomping knee-grows to even have the opportunity to cast a ballot.

And were you not paying attention to Mitt's party tying to suppress your ability to even cast a ballot and his smug behind not saying a word about it?

I'm going to take my frustration out on Mittbot at the ballot box on October 22 and I suggest that many of you peeps join me in doing so.  To get the electoral party started, get busy clicking this GottaVote.org link so you too can express your displeasure and disgust with Mitt and his party at the ballot box.

"It's hard to serve as president for all Americans when you've disdainfully written off half the nation," said Obama campaign manager Jim Messina.

Mitt's making it clear he not only doesn't like 47% of the country, he doesn't care about us.  The feeling is increasingly mutual, especially for those of us who aren't in his quiet rooms and living his 1% lifestyle.

Barney's Right-The Log Cabin Republicans ARE Uncle Toms

Lord knows I've had my issues with The Purple One and have called him out for throwing transpeople under the civil rights bus on various occasions ever since I started advocating for trans people's human rights in 1998.  My most notable rants slamming him occurred in 2007

But I have no argument with him this time.  Rep. Frank was right on target in terms of his recent criticism he has leveled at the Log Cabin Republicans that also applies to GOProud.

Rep Frank (D-MA) originally made the scathing comment on Michelangelo Signorile’s Sirius OutQ radio show Wednesday, saying, “I now understand why they call themselves Log Cabin: Their role model is Uncle Tom.”

He repeated it when addressing the Democratic National Convention’s LGBT Caucus last Thursday: “I am again inclined to think that they’re called the Log Cabin club because their role model is Uncle Tom.”

.
Some rainbow community orgs have distanced themselves from the comment, but this is another instance in which he told the truth and shamed the conservadevils.

As I and others on the liberal-progressive side have said more than a few times, yes we need people on both sides of the political spectrum and no political philosophy has a monopoly on good ideas.

But what we don't need is people on that conservative side of the spectrum regurgitating the same language as our oppressors and actively working against the overall human rights aims and advancement of the community either.

That's when you're stepping into Uncle Tom territory, and we got to call you out on it when you do.

Liberal* Media, This How You Shut Down A Lying Conservafool 2

Pay attention liberal* media.  CNN's Soledad O'Brien did a masterful job in shutting down a lying conservafool a few short weeks ago.   If they try to disrespect you on your own show when you expose the fact they are lying, handle it like Tamron Hall did and call their asses out

For our next example of liberal leaning media pundits not allowing facts challenged lying GOP surrogates to spin unchallenged, here is MSNBC's Chris Matthews calling out RNC chair Reince Priebus on his party's race-baiting.

If It Barks Like A GOP Racist And Growls Like A GOP Racist, It IS A GOP Racist

I get e-mails and comments on my Facebook page every time I call the Republican party out on their racism by sarcastically spelling the party name with three K's (RepubliKKKan) or calling the Teapublicans the Tea Klux Klan.   They try to pimp that false equivalency meme and claim that the Democrats engage in it, too.

Umm, no they aren't.   And don't even try to come at me with that elephant feces.

If your presidential campaign is predicated on not talking about the merits of your candidate, but blowing racist dog whistle comments to stir up the bigot base of your party because you refuse to compete for the votes of non-white American citizens, you actively work to suppress their votes,  and you have openly disrespected the first African-American president since he took the oath of office in 2009, don't be surprised when your fellow Republicans and the people your campaign tactics validate and appeal to feel empowered to unleash their inner Klansman and their bigotry at inopportune moments.

David Shuster tweeted about an incident that occurred at the Republican convention Klan meeting now taking place in Tampa in which an African-American CNN camerawoman had peanuts thrown at her yesterday by a GOP convention attendee followed by the comment "this is how we feed animals'.

CNN posted a written statement saying, “CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon. CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.”

No further comment?  You're joking, right?   That's why I switched to watching MSNBC because CNN in my opinion has been far too busy trying to coddle the Republicans instead of calling them out on their fascist and racist bull feces.

So what did the convention officials do to the GOP attendee who committed this microaggressive racist act?   Did they throw them out for the rest of the convention or just for a day with a wink and nod to the reprehensible behavior?   Did the knee-grow conservafools placate the bigoted attendee by saying the CNN camerawoman 'provoked' it?   Is the unnamed so far GOP attendee a credentialed delegate?   An alternate?   What state are they from?  Are they a proud member of the Tea Klux Klan or the Paulistas?

These are the questions that need to be answered instead of swept under the rug and trying to deny the incident happened.  The one thing it confirms once again for African-Americans is that the Republican Party is racist from the top of its presidential ticket to its grassroots.

You white peeps who vote Republican can swim in vanillacentric privileged denial all you want, but if it barks like a GOP racist and growls like a GOP racist,  it IS a GOP racist and your votes and donations to the party enable that racist behavior.

It also ensures non-white Americans will continue voting for Democrats.

TransGriot Update: Turns out it was TWO GOP convention attendees, not just one.  It's still reprehensible behavior no matter how many peeps participated in it.

Rush Blames POTUS For Hurricane Isaac

You can't make this stuff up with the Republifools, and the King of Fools has opened his big mouth and unleashed the OxyContin fueled ignorance on this one.

Hurricane Isaac is bearing down on Tampa and the Florida Gulf Coast just in time for the GOP convention set to start on August 27.  And who gets the blame for the decision to put a major political convention in Florida during hurricane season?

President Obama.

Really?   The presidential brother got that kind of juice, huh?  If that were the case you fools wouldn't have a majority in the House, the POTUS' legislative agenda would be sailing through Congress and the 2010 midterm elections would have gone far better for Democrats than they actually have in reality. .

If Rush weren't a Shut Up Fool Lifetime Achievement Award winner, I'd give him this week's Shut Up Fool award for that comment alone, but there are others far more deserving of ridicule and contempt in the GOP tomorrow.

But just for old times sake, hit it Mr. T.

Big Political Day Inside I-495

In a few minutes, the Supreme (Conservafool leaning) Court will let the nation know what they have kept a secret for three months- how they ruled on the Affordable Care Act..

May wish to check SCOTUSblog.com for the breakdown on what is sure to be another 5-4 ruling.

Meanwhile, across the street from the Supreme Court building there will be more drama at the Capitol building in the Republifool controlled US House as they move to vote around 3:30 EDT to cite Attorney General Eric Holder for contempt of Congress over the faux Fast and Furious 'scandal'..

A pissed off Congressional Black Caucus is threatening to walk out of the chamber to protest the partisan vote that is coming up and word is that the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Asian Pacific Caucus, and The Congressional Progressive Caucus are also going to walk prior to the partisan travesty of a vote.

Will keep y'all posted about the developments inside Hollywood for Ugly People when they happen.

Rep John Lewis Calls Out Rep. Paul Broun

The GOP effort to suppress the vote is well underway, and Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) tried to offer an amendment Wednesday night that would strip the funding from the Department of Justice allocated for it to enforce Section V of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

What Broun didn't count on when he tried to pull this stunt was civil rights warrior and American hero Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) being in the room.  Rep Lewis then proceeded to call his azz out about it to the point where Broun's bigoted behind withdrew the amendment.

Take notes liberal-progressives and Democrats.  This is how you confront a conservafool.

transcript courtesy of Think Progress.

It is hard, and difficult, and almost unbelievable that any Member — but especially a Member from the state of Georgia — would come and offer such amendment. There’s a long history in our country, especially in the 11 states that are old Confederacy — from Virginia to Texas — of discrimination based on race, on color. Maybe some of us need to study a little contemporary history dealing with the question of voting rights.

Just think, before the Voting Rights Act of 1965, it was almost impossible for many people in the state of Georgia, in the state of Alabama, in Virginia, in Texas, to register to vote, to participate in the democratic process. The state of Mississippi, for example, had a black voting age population of more than 450,000, and only about 16,000 were registered to vote. One county in Alabama, the county was more than 80 percent [black], and not a single registered African-American voter. People had to pass a so-called literacy test. . . . one man was asked to count the number of bubbles in a bar of soap. Another man was asked to count the number of jelly beans in a jar.

It’s shameful that you would come here tonight and say to the Department of Justice that you must not use one penny, one cent, one dime, one dollar, to carry out the mandate of Section Five of the Voting Rights Act.

. . . People died for the right to vote. Friends of mine. Colleagues of mine. I speak out against this amendment. It doesn’t have a place.

***

Note to conservafools and Tea Klux Klan, some of those tax dollars you rail about come from the hard work of African-Americans.   We damned sure want the DOJ properly funded to enforce Section V against your white supremacist and ALEC inspired thuggish vote suppression tactics.

Thanks Rep. Lewis for reminding the nation and the Republifools why the Voting Rights Act is still necessary.

Sweater Vest South?

Renee of Womanist Musings and I have for years in our conversations pondered whether the Republifools on our side of the border and Canada's Conservative Party have been trading strategies and tactics.

She's told me about the voter suppression tactics that are being used in predominately First Nations areas of Canada that overwhelmingly vote NDP and some other election shenanigans in recent north of the border elections that eerily smell like they came from the GOP playbook.

I also remember her talking about PM Stephen Harper, who she and other people on the Canadian left derisively call 'The Sweater Vest' for his penchant for wearing them during campaigns in order to make him and his conservative political stances seems more friendly.

Well, well, well.  Peep what Rick Santorum has started to wear more often on the campaign trail as he pimps his jacked up positions in this 2012 GOP nomination fight.

Naw Rick, it ain't gonna work.

We peeps in the reality based America already know how far right wing and delusionary your positions are.  That wingnuttery might get you the GOP nomination, but 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is another story.

Martin Bashir Tells It Like It T-I-S Is About Santorum

The truth hurts doesn't it conservafools?

Martin Bashir during yesterday's 'Clear The Air' segment of his show called out Rick Santorum and made a doubleplusgood comparison of him to Big Brother in the George Orwell novel 1984.

It’s now time to clear the air, and when we saw the latest Republican frontrunner, Rick Santorum, speaking before a crowd yesterday, all we could think of was George Orwell’s novel, “1984,” about a society dominated by the most extreme form of totalitarianism.

The similarities with George Orwell’s novel, and that movie, are not just superficial. No, Rick Santorum holds some pretty stern views on a number of important issues and he regularly sounds like a theocrat.

For example, he asserted that the right to privacy does not exist and has equated same-sex relationships with bestiality.

From ‘1984’: “Brothers and sisters, the endless catalogue of bestial atrocities, which will inevitably ensure from this appalling act, must, can, and will be terminated.”

Mr. Santorum has pledged to repeal all federal funding for contraception and says individual states should be allowed to outlaw any kind of birth control.

From ‘1984’: “The forces of darkness and the treasonable maggots who collaborate with them must, can and will be wiped from the face of the earth.”

In reviewing his book, “It Takes a Family,” one writer said Mr. Santorum has “one of the finest minds of the 13th century.” But, I’m not sure. If you listen carefully to Rick Santorum, he sounds more like Stalin than Pope Innocent the Third.
Hey, we can't help it that truth has a liberal bias and you got busted by a real journalist in terms of being called on the totalitarian playbook y'all been running in this 2012 presidential campaign.

1984 was supposed to be a novel, not a playbook to political power.

Rev Al Rips Rick Tyler A New One

Enjoy this debate between Gingrich super pac head Rick Tyler, Rachel Maddow and Rev. Al Sharpton as they take him apart over his attempts to spin the fact that Newt Gingrich is race baiting in this Republifool presidential primary .

Rick Tyler's reponses are why African-American continue to overwhelmingly vote for Democratic candidates.

Rick Tyler claims he headed for ten years the GOP outreach to African-Americans.  Based on what I'm watching in this exchange no wonder it failed miserably.
