Today is the day back in 1993 that the skinny kid from Hawaii with the funny name got married to a brilliant statuesque sister from the South Side of Chicago.
25 years ago on October 3, 1992 Barack Obama and Michelle LaVaughn Robinson got married at Trinity Church of Christ in front of 200 guests. They had two lovely and amazing daughters in now 19 year old Malia and 16 year old Sasha, and as y'all know, in 2008 he became the 44th president of the United States and she became our first African American First Lady.
I wish they were STILL living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. but that's a ranting post for another day.
Happy 25th Anniversary Mr. President and Madame First Lady!
Over the eight years you were living in that nice house in Washington DC our ancestors built with their unpaid labor, you became the shining examples of enduring Black love and our relationship role models.
And damn, y'all still look good together.

Melania Doesn't Get Any Love From Me Either
I'm starting to see people in liberal progressive world wanting to give Melania a pass for being married to and repeatedly dissed by Twitler.
But just like her reprehensible hubby, Melania's not getting any love from me, especially after TransGriot reader Vanity Wilde pointed me to this April 20, 2011 interview on the Joy Behar Show in which Melania went all in like her hubby on the birther attacks on President Obama starting about the 1:52 mark of this interview..
Kinda ironic that the same POTUS she attacked back in 2011 was the one classily rescuing her from that real time embarrassing situation broadcast around the country and the world when her deplorable hubby dissed her on Inauguration Day.
So naw Melania, you're NOT my FLOTUS either You gets no love from moe or my people for attacking the legitimacy of the twice duly elected President Obama.
You wish you could be a FLOTUS who could walk in Michelle's double Ivy League degreed pumps.
So for the next four years, you don't get any love from me either.

Happy 53rd Birthday To Our Fab FLOTUS
Today is the 53rd birthday of our fabulous FLOTUS Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama, who was born on this January date in Chicago in 1964.
This is (sniff sniff) the last birthday she will celebrate as our amazing First Lady, and I'm definitely not looking forward to seeing her go back to her civilian life this Friday after eight fabulous history making years
Like the POTUS said doing his farewell speech, you have represented our nation with dignity and class despite all the haters and the racist, misogynist and transmisogynist hatred thrown your way,.
You have been a wonderful possibility model for not only our youth, but myself/ We also deeply appreciate and love you in TBLGQ world for being an ally for our community..
Happy birthday Madame First Lady! Looking forward to seeing what the next chapter in your life brings.

FLOTUS Haters Pay For Their Racist Bigotry With Their Jobs
The election of Trump has sent a signal to bigoted and racist white people that they can be as offensive as they wanna be.
But with that First Amendment freedom to be as reprehensibly racist as they wish to be, they are also finding out the hard way racist hate speech has a cost.
Pam Taylor, the former director of the non profit Clay County Development Corporation in Clay, WV found this lesson out the hard way along with Clay, WV mayor Beverly Whaling
Taylor wrote a racist message on her Facebook page cosigned by Whaling calling First Lady Michelle Obama an 'ape in heels', and then was shocked when the post went viral and the inevitable backlash hit her azz over the offensive comment that cost Taylor her job..
Mayor Whaling, who cosigned Taylor racist post by writing, 'Just made my day, Pam' and subsequently deleting it when she also began to feel the heat, has resigned from the Clay. WV mayor's chair.
What Pam, you and former mayor Whiting mad because the FLOTUS not only hold two Ivy League degrees earned with cum laude grades, but has been the epitome of grace despite having to deal with nonstop ethnic slurs hurled at her, her daughters and her husband?
Miss me with those white women's tears. You comment makes it clear you are. You're only mad because you posted your ugly bigoted disdain for the FLOTUS on social media and got busted for it..
Bye, Pam. Just an FYI for your ignorant behind, apes can also look like this:
Maybe you can find a job in the incoming Trump administration you love so much since it seems that being an overtly racist white person doesn't disqualify you for employment in it.

First Lady Michelle Obama Calls Out Trump's Treatment Of Women In NH Speech
First Lady Michelle Obama was tellin' it like it T-I-S is about a certain Republican sexual predator running for the presidency.
Here's a link to the video of the FLOTUS' Manchester, New Hampshire speech
“The measure of any society is how it treats their women and girls. I can’t believe that a candidate for president of the United States has bragged about sexually assaulting women. This kind of violence and abuse and disrespect to women… This is not something that we just sweep under the rug as another disturbing footnote in a sad election season. The shameful comments about our bodies, the disrespect to our intellects, the belief that you can do anything to a woman. It’s cruel. The truth is it hurts. We are drowning in it.
All of us are doing what women have always done. We’re trying to keep our heads above water, just trying to get through it, trying to pretend that this doesn’t really bother us. Maybe we think that admitting how much it hurts makes us as women look weak. Maybe we’re afraid of being that vulnerable. Maybe we’ve grown accustomed to swallowing these emotions and staying quiet because we’ve seen that people often won’t take our word over his. Or maybe we don’t want to believe that there are still people our there who think so little of us as women. So many are treating this as just another day, as if our outrage is overblown. This is not normal. This is not politics as usual. This is disgraceful; it is not tolerable.
It doesn’t matter what party you belong to. None of us deserve this kind of abuse. This isn’t about politics. It’s about basic human decency. We cannot expose our children to this any longer, not for another minute, and let alone for four years. Now is the time for all of us to say enough is enough. If all of this is painful to us as grown women, what do you think this is doing to our children? What lessons do you think this is teaching to girls about their worth?
To dismiss this as ‘locker room talk’ is an insult to decent men. The men in my life are concerned about what this election is doing to our boys and men who are looking for role models. Strong men, men who are truly role models don’t need to put down women to feel powerful.
We need someone who is a united force, someone who will heal the wounds that divide us. I believe with all my heart that Hillary Clinton will be that president. When things get tough, she doesn’t complain. She doesn’t abandon ship. Hillary Clinton has never quit on anything in her life. She is someone who has waited her turn and helped out while waiting! No one could be more qualified for this job than Hillary. We as Americans, we as decent human beings, can come together and declare that enough is enough. We need to recover from our shock and depression and we need to do what women do, we roll up our sleeves and get to work. We need to vote, we need to make calls. We cannot afford to be tired or turned off. On November 8, we have the opportunity to show our children that this country is big enough for us all, and that each of us is a precious part of this great American story and we are always stronger together. We reject hatred and fear. In difficult times we don't discard our highest ideals. That is who we are, and don't let anyone tell you differently!"

First Lady Michelle Obama's DNC 2016 Speech
For those of you who didn't get to witness it live, First Lady Michelle Obama took to the DNC 2016 stage last night and delivered a speech for the ages that reminded me at times of the one her hubby dropped at the 2004 DNC event in Boston.
No wonder Melania Trump plagiarized the FLOTUS' 2008 DNC speech last week.
This #DNCinPhilly speech was so outstanding that when she was done she should have dropped the mic and walked off the stage when it was over.
But hey, judge for yourselves. Here's the video of the DNC 2016 speech.

'Go To College' Video
In order to help push the message of the FLOTUS' 'Better Make Room' initiative that launched back in October and encourages kids to go to college, First Lady Michelle Obama and SNL cast member Jay Pharaoh teamed up to do a video to promote it.
And yes, the FLOTUS briefly spits some rhymes in it. South siiiiide!
Here's the video.

FLOTUS Tuskegee Commencement Speech On Race
First Lady Michelle Obama was the commencement speaker for Tuskegee University's 2015 commencement last Saturday, and in that 30 minute speech she touched on some of the racist disrespect that she and President Obama have received that predated his election in November 2008.
Mrs. Obama recounted the racist comments she and her husband have endured during their time in the political spotlight as the eventual First Couple. The reprehensible highlights included she and the future President being assumed to be “the help” by fellow guests at formal events and Fox News calling the First Lady her “husband’s crony of color” and “Obama’s baby mama.”
Yeah, that last one pissed me and my mother the hell off when we heard it. We both went on a long rant discussing it one night
But the point the FLOTUS was making in this speech is that it isn't about her, but the ongoing systemic problem of racism in America. She also urged affected communities to never give up hope for a better tomorrow as we fight the ills that negatively affect us today.
So here's the video of the Tuskegee University commencement speech

Happy Milestone Birthday, Madame First Lady
Yeah, the folks that hate on her husband are also not happy that she, the POTUS and their beautiful daughters will be living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue until January 20, 2017.
Hate on haters. The 65,899,660 Americans who did vote for the POTUS in 2012 are very happy he and the FLOTUS are there. .
It has been a joy to see her make history in her own right as the first African-American First Lady and basically do it her way.
It has also been inspiring to see an intelligent, beautiful sistah gracefully handle that role and represent us and our nation on the national and international stage.
So happy birthday Madame First Lady! May you have many more of them to come.

2013 TBLG White House Reception Today
And it could get ugly as the volume has risen from Gay, Inc and predominately white gay peeps about the ENDA executive order they are demanding President Obama sign that won't cover the entire community.
We'll see if the LG folks behave themselves today.
And all I have to say if ENDA was so important to pass, why when we had to choose one bill to get done during the 2010 lame duck session it was DADT?
I will at least have one of my trans community friends there to witness whatever goes down today in Antonia D'orsay of Dyssonance blog fame.
When she's not writing thought provoking blog posts, she's the executive director of This Is H.O.W in Phoenix and who came up with the idea for the Trans 100 List that she and Jen Richards made happen. .
Congrats Toni on getting the invitation to the White House and having a ringside seat to what should be a very interesting day inside I-495.

Another GetEqual Fail- White Privilege, Black Blaming and Dissing The First Lady
I've been on GetEqual's ass since 2010 about their one sided penchant for protesting this White House but not having the same vanillacentric zeal to protest their Republican oppressors.
I've also questioned at times if anybody in the org paid attention in their government or political science classes.
Once again their lack of vision and bad timing bit them in the behind when GetEqual's Ellen Sturtz interrupted First Lady Michelle Obama at a recent private fundraiser event. The stated purpose was to call attention to getting the POTUS to sign an incrementalist ENDA executive order that the 1% white gays have been pushing that won't protect the entire community like comprehensive ENDA legislation will.
And oh by the way, the First Lady doesn't have the power to write and sign executive orders, her husband does. It's not a good idea to piss off the person who DOES have the power to issue that executive order you'd like them to sign by disrespecting their spouse.
The only attention it has gotten was on how rude Ms Sturtz was, how problematic the optics were on this and how once again, predominately white led Gay Inc orgs pull these stunts that play well in the white gay community but piss off gay and straight African-Americans weary of the unprecedented levels of disrespect aimed at the Obamas.
The timing also sucked because African-Americans trans, gay and straight were already pissed off about being blamed by loud and wrong gay pundits for the Illinois marriage equality legislative FUBAR.
Denise Oliver-Velez comments on this latest GetEqual fail in her DailyKos post that features comments from a certain blogger y'all know.

Happy 49th Birthday Madame First Lady!
Today is the 49th birthday of First Lady Michelle L. Obama, who I am deliriously happy to say will be living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue until January 20, 2017.
Looking forward to seeing he discuss her various policy initiatives and representing our country now and throughout her husband's second term. It will also be interesting to see what she does after she leaves the White House as well.
So happy birthday Madame First Lady! May it be a day as beautiful as you are filled with blessings, and may you have many more of them.

Happy 20th Anniversary To The POTUS And FLOTUS
Today is the 20th wedding anniversary of President Barack H. Obama and First Lady Michelle L. Obama, who were married on this date in Chicago weeks before the 1992 presidential election.
It's ironic that as the POTUS and FLOTUS are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, our nation is once again in the homestretch of a critical and contentious reelection campaign for an incumbent president .
It's also ironic that the first debate of the 2012 presidential campaign is also taking place later this evening on this date
Well, hope y'all get to spend some quality time with each other celebrating your special day. May you both be celebrating your wedding anniversaries as residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue through 2016.

FLOTUS Keynote Speech At CBCF-ALC Phoenix Awards Dinner
A little history was made Saturday night as First Lady Michelle Obama became the first FLOTUS ever to do a keynote address at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Phoenix Awards Dinner.
The Phoenix Awards Dinner serves is the closing event for the CBC Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference, and honors four individuals for their contributions in addressing challenges facing the African-American community.
In case you're wondering who won those awards this year, it was Attorney General Eric Holder, Congresswoman Corinne Brown (D-FL), former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt, and filmmaker George Lucas.
While the TransGriot was inside I-495 when it happened a mere subway ride away from me, I didn't go to this start studded event. Neither did President Obama, who did the Phoenix keynotes in 2009 and 2010 but had campaign events elsewhere this year.
But enjoy the video of our First Lady's speech . And here's the link to the prepared remarks.

The FLOTUS 2012 DNC Keynote Speech
President Obama has joked at times that First lady Michelle Obama is the better speech maker in their family. Well, the POTUS might not be kidding about that.
This keynote speech was not only moving, but it was a kill them with kindness rebuttal to the Ann Romney speech and the other BS the RNC was spreading in Tampa last week.

Happy Birthday To The FLOTUS!
I could not let today pass without giving a shoutout to First Lady Michelle Obama on her 48th birthday.
You know I think she's all that and four bags of Jay's potato chips and hope she's being spoiled rotten by the POTUS and the First Daughters today.
Happy birthday Madame First Lady! Hope you had a great one today and will continue to be celebrating them at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue through 2017.

FLOTUS Gets Booed At NASCAR Race And Attacked By Rush-Cue Silence From Feminist Blogosphere About It
First Lady Michelle Obama and Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden have been promoting support for veterans families as one of their policy causes. You would think that has some support in the uber patriotic, military loving, testosterone fueled world of NASCAR racing, right?
Um no. It was more the FLOTUS race that played into this than the auto racing and the support of veterans as she and Dr Biden were booed.
Then Rush Limbaugh, never one to miss a chance to attack the First Lady piled on by calling the FLOTUS 'uppity'
And what was the feminist blogosphere response to the latest dissing of the FLOTUS?
Once again it was Black women to defend the first lady while the feminist blogosphere stayed silent.
