I do think it's sad that we have to take such a piecemeal approach at protecting rights... It seems ridiculous that we have to say that women can't be discriminated against gender, then that people can't be discriminated against by race, then gays can't be discriminated against due to their sexual orientation, then trans can't be discriminated against due to gender identity...
