Canadian Election 2011 Update

Our northern neighbors and my Canadian homegirls in Alberta, Ontario, BC and Newfoundland are one month away today from going to the polls for a critical election.

The question will be answered on that date is whether the Conservatives can get the 12 seats they need to reach the 155 seat mark in the 308 seat House of Commons and form a majority government, or another scenario is in the works that results in another minority government for my Canadian friends.

For you political junkies like me interested in how this is playing out, discovered an interesting website called Election Almanac.com     It has daily tracking polls, seat projections and links to campaign news..

Canada is our next door neighbor and largest trading partner, and what happens there matters to the US on many levels.   We need to be just as aware of what's going on north of the border as many Canadians are of what transpires politically here.

Shoot, it's sad to admit that the average Canadian is better versed on American politics than most Americans are, including some of our GOP politicians.

But only 30 more days to election day.
